Imagine if it were no longer available tomorrow: what food item are you hoarding?

Going to hoard and freeze a ton of blackberries, kale, scallops, John Dory fish, liver and escargot! Then going to hoard as much Sangiovese and Barolo as possible.
In that order — I think hmmm 🤔3 -
Sunwarrior
and broccoli-cauliflower mix😁1 -
I live on an island in AK where “out of stock” is all too common. You know it’s bad when your main grocery store runs out of the basics like bottled water, eggs and milk often. I’d definitely stock up on oatmeal, can’t start a day without it - thankfully they have yet to run out of oatmeal lol.2

I’d hoard all the red onions. I can’t eat salads or sandwiches without them.
And chocolate. Any and all chocolate.0 -

Yes, My favorite is the Black bean and Cheezburger one, I wish the Cheezburger had more in the package. I don't really like the sausage patty ones though.
Also, Target's natural creamy peanut butter...mainly because it's so cheap (and tastes good). For some reason in the past year at my local store it went from $4-ish, almost $5 to $2.79 for a large jar and I'm not mad.
I'm not drinking currently but I sorta wish I'd hoarded the Shock Top Twisted Pretzel beer because it was fantastic in a horrible guilty pleasure way. RIP

BBQ sauce. I put it on freakin' everything. It brings joy to my otherwise meaningless life.
I'd hoard Sweet Baby Ray's and Lillies Q.2 -

I actually had to think about this, but if I knew I would never be able to get it again I would 100% be stockpiling grated Parmesan cheese. Or reduced sugar ketchup... or cottage cheese. It's a hard question! Makes you think about the foods we take for granted.
Rainbow Trout.
But you can just go catch those...and you get to fish while you do it.0 -
True story: In 1929, money disappeared from the countryside of Texas where my father was a young child. His father had raised a crop of sweet potatoes during the summer of 1929 on his farm of 320 acres. At harvest, no buyer could be found. During the winter of 1929-1930, the only food the family (3 people) had was the unsold sweet potatoes and the game my father could harvest on an ammunition budget of 1 .22 Short round per day. I'm stockpiling ammunition and sweet potatoes.3

It's amazing that they made it through that ordeal. But, I bet their skin turned orange for all the excess beta carotene!0 -
