JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS ~ ROUND 94

@musicsax - So sorry hear about your Yoga associate. I understand. Even if you aren't friends, we still are affected when people we see on a regular bases die suddenly. It has happened to me at work. I am no more good at work that day. It affects the whole office mood.3 -
quiltingjaine wrote: »@robynleegetsfit Your goal for the round is less than your goal for year end? In any case, this seems a bit aggressive to me - unless my math is wrong, that is almost a 3# loss per week average. A healthy loss is 1.5 - 2 pounds per week. I’m not saying it isn’t possible but it might not be the best.
@quiltingjaine It's based on the metric system (1 to 2kg a week). It also based on past records. When I eat in my calorie range I naturally lose 2kg a week without exercise for the first 8 weeks, anyway.
Currently, I don't walk much. I work out 30 minutes a day (started on Monday) and my eating habits are horrible.
My calorie goal is 1550 to 1350 somewhere there. Currently, I probably eat 2000 calories, which is horrible.
If I lose 0.5kg (1lb) a week I'll be happy. My goal of 1 to 2 kg a week (which is what my dietitian suggested) is merely motivation. A reminder to reduce sugar, drink more water and use food as sustainance. Its working. I drink more water now. 5 glasses instead of 1. And I exercised 3 times this week compared to once last week (today was a rest day) and 0 the week before that. Next week, I'll focus on cutting added sugar which will mean drinking black coffee and black tea or buying milk alternatives. And no more grilled cheese.
I appreciate your concern but this is a slow and steady journey with a focus on building lasting habits like exercise, water, no added sugar, and cutting calories. The numbers are simply numbers.
The R94 GW was a mistake. It should've been 107.46 -
@CamandJarvis - Congrats on 3 years of mobility Sweetie! Awesome NSV! Thanks for sharing! :flowerforyou:

Female, 57 yy, 4'11''
OSW: 177.1 lbs
LTG: 105 - 110.0 lbs or BF 23-25%
STG: 110 (next milestone)
Goals for 10 day Challenge: reach 114 - upper end of ideal weight for my height.
Day/Weight/Comment
10/30 114.8, %BF 27.5 Reached my STG of last round now! (be below 115) but better late than never! Expect wt may go back up tomorrow and I’ll bounce around here, but just might be possible to reach the upper end of the ideal weight range for my height this round. In the meantime goal is to keep working on increasing muscle mass (seems to be working according to scale) with the increase in calories and burning fat. Early morning spin class for cardio today!
10/31 116.4, BF% 27.9 OK maybe I should not predict that it will go up cuz it seems to come true -lol ! Pasta for dinner last night so expect a lot of the gain is water with the carbs/glycogen storage (and food retention) - but was refueled for step aerobics this am!!! Switched to using two risers to increase HR during class so got a high intensity workout in. Strength training with trainer afterwards - we are on to the Stage 4 workouts from Strong (Schuler & Cosgrove of NROLW) for the next month. Halloween get together with neighbors tonight (pizza) so have pre-logged and should be in my macros (higher calories on weight day help!) Hoping that the strong storms (under tornado watch) that are predicted hold off until after trick-or-treating! Even with the ups/downs after the last two weeks of higher calories, Happy Scale thinks my current loss rate is 0.47 lbs/week so looks like that is in line with my estimated TDEE and calorie targets so trend is more important than the noisy day to day measurements!

SW: Oct 30th: 95.4 lbs OMG!!! I gained sooo much in the last 2 days over 5 pounds I'm so upset! All of my progress gone because of 2 days in a row where I drank too much and binged on so much junk. I shouldn't drink. It ruins my diet. I feel so horrible about myself right now its a month later with nothing to show for my results and over 2 bad days and now that I've been at a lower weight it just makes this number feel gigantic. I'm starting over fresh and hoping this weight comes off quickly since it went on so fast. Just vowing to not drink at all this round and lose as much as possible. I was hoping to reach my goal of 87 during this round since I was close and make it in the first week of November but its looking like that might not happen. Now just gotta really stick with my eating and exercise routine perfectly and hope for the best. The choices I made were sooo not worth this!! So deflated
Oct 31st: Happy halloween! 🎃
92.6 lbs (-2.8lbs from yesterday yay!) So the weight I gained is coming off quickly which is good. Worked rlly hard at the gym yesterday. Might not go today as it's getting late and need to get my costume ready and everything for tonight. Going out. Will try to keep my totals low. Will be more comfortable when I'm back down to 90 or lower again.8 -

10/30--206.5 Finished W3D1 of c25k yesterday. Another great fall day to go out and run. Strength coach tonight.
10/31--206.3 Tough workout with my coach yesterday, but I am definitely seeing progress. This morning I decided to try on these boots I haven't been able to wear for the past 2 years because my calves had gotten too big. Well, not only am I wearing them today, but I also have my jeans tucked into them!

You can do it!

So I am back for another round. My goals will be the same as last since I didn't make any progress in round 93. I would like to be under 144.0 for every weigh-in and have at least 60% of them be under 142.0. My husband turns 39 on the 7th and our last weigh-in is the day after. We also have to deal with Halloween, so this round may be a little tricky. Although I know I am kind of being selfish, but I really want to get out of the 140's, so I have decided not to pass out candy this year. All 5 of my kids will be out or doing other things, so I am not going to temp myself at all. I guess not having any little kids anymore makes this year a little easier. I do feel guilty about the other neighborhood kids, but I am taking this year off and not bringing bags of candy into the house.
(I only include the last 5 rounds of results)
Round 89: 147.0 - 143.7 Avg 144.99
Round 90: 143.7 - 140.9 Avg 142.68
Round 91: 140.9 - 143.6 Avg 143.62
Round 92: 143.6 - 141.5 Avg 142.01
Round 93: 141.5 - 142.3 Avg 143.21
10/30 - 140.7 Finally!!!! A new low!!! Now it's only by 2/10 of a pound, but I am taking it and running. Was on track all day yesterday and stuck to my no alcohol. Will do the same today and hope for another, hopefully bigger drop tomorrow.
10/31 - 140.7 same as yesterday. So I am ending October with an entire 2/10 of a pound loss. Not thrilled, but I have to accept it and move on. The good news is my monthly moving average is down 2.2 pounds according to my happy scale. I am pretty much losing about a pound to a pound and a half a month right now. I am at about 22.5 on my BMI chart, so in the healthy range and am ok with how my clothes fit. I think it's just vanity that I want to weigh in the 130's, lol. I don't really think anything is going to change if the scale says 140.7 or 138.7, but it will make me happy, so I will continue working on it. No alcohol again last night and stayed on track food wise. I have only drank 2 days out of the last 10 and that is huge for me, so I am going to continue trying to go that route for a couple more weeks.

@musicsax I am so sorry for your loss. The unexpected are the hardest to deal with sometimes.
@deepwoodslady I will be praying for you. My mom had breast cancer and had to have a full mastectomy 2 days after finding out. I can't remember what is was called, but it was extremely aggressive. She has had that testing and both my sister and I have had it. Lots of people choose to not have it done and just wait and see what happens. I am the opposite and am already taking precautions to prevent it. Lots and lots of hugs your way!!!
@poisonesse Hoping for a fast recovery. I am super clumsy like that myself. I always have to pay attention or something crazy happens.

@jenn990205 congrats on the low... AND on maintaining it! Sometimes losing it is easy, but keeping it off is WAY harder. Even if it's only 2/10s of a pound, it's a LOSS! Great job!
And thanks guys for the well wishes, I hike and walk every day, and twisting my ankle is same ol same ol for me. BUT... not this ankle! lol The last time I twisted this one was Jan. 6, 2013... I know, because two weeks later I found out I had broken it, not sprained it, and it was less than two weeks after I started my journey! ROFL But hey, it worked out well then, it will again, right?7 -

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

** ROUND 94 **
Round # 23 for me
The next ten days: I am going to focus on doing more intentional exercise (step goal 6500) and be more mindful of when I eat. Make sure I not doing as much emotional eating.
Day/Weight/Comment
10/30 397.0 – I lost 1.6 pounds last round. Finally getting back on track. I am not making any goals, but I do know in 10 days I should lose at least 2 pounds just by focusing on behavior modifications. I didn’t do the whole 10 days last round. But I am not beating myself up at all. I am just going to focus on my behaviors which will get me where I want to be.
10/31 395.6 (-1.4) – Yesterday: 7434 steps, 30 min walking. Did OK eating - no binge or fast foods.
We will see how the eating goes today. I did not do the potluck with the department. But I still ate some candy and I brought some Chicago Mix popcorn for me. But I only had a few cups for lunch. No binge thus far. Night is the worse. Tomorrow I go to a special lunch, planning on eating mindfully there. Having grilled chicken since I know they are going to have it and he some veggies. I go to WW on Saturday. Trying to break even - but if I don’t, I am not going to worry about it because I have not been to a meeting in weeks. I am still up 3 pounds from the last time I was there on my scale.

My journey … ("I May Not Be Where I Want To Be, but I’m Not Where I Use To Be!")In 2003 Weighed over 600 lbsMy highest weight was 611 in 2003. Weight in 2004 before weight loss surgery was 580. Lowest weight after surgery was 302 in 2007. "I May Not Be Where I Want To Be, but I’m Not Where I Use To Be!"
In 2005 Weighed under 400 lbs
In 2007 lowest weight after surgery 302lbs
I joined MFP on March 27, 2010 weighing in at 388 pounds. I was re-gaining weight and stumbled up on it while trying to get back on track. I was determined never to see 400+ on that scale again for me.
I have been morbidly obese all my life. I have a lifetime of mental and physical scars from obesity. In October 2004 I had Gastric Bypass surgery. WLS (Weight Loss Surgery) was the best gift that I could and did give to myself.
Between 2008 and 2010 I gradually gained back 80 of almost 300 pounds lost initially after weight loss surgery. I never reached my goal weight of 200 pounds. I still managed to keep off over 65 percent of the weight I lost which is very good and I am very proud of my accomplishments since 2004. It has literally changed my life for the better on all levels. I am here to lose re-gained weight and to reach my initial goal weight. I am in no hurry. I am taking this one day at a time and I am in it for the long haul.
Surgery did not fix the head. It is a good tool and the best gift I have given to myself, but it was not the easy way out as many people think. Once the honeymoon period is over after the WLS it is up to the patient to keep the weight off.
On August 29, 2011-- I was admitted to Intensive Out Patient Eating Disorder Program to learn how to manage my binge eating disorder effectively. The program is wonderful indeed and will be instrumental in me reaching all of my goals. The focus of this program was how to eat and not diet. Weight loss was not a goal of the program. I actually gained 20 pounds in program. But I had to get thru a lot of stuff and my the time I was released I had stopped gaining. I was discharged from program on December 3, 2011.
My tool is still working for me today. My head is still the issue. SO the struggle continues. I will never beat myself up again. I fight the fine fight faithfully and positively everyday. Because that is what will get me to my goals one day. Even though it may not show up on the scale every day -- Everyday I make progress one way or another just by showing up, waking up and trying.
Giving up is not an option for me. Perseverance, Patience, & Positive thinking will help me reach my goals…… and the same is true for you too!! We have the power within us.:flowerforyou: Jan 3, 2019 SW 373.4 CW 400.4 :flowerforyou:Round 64 - SW 373.4 EW 369 (-4.4)

@musicsax, {{{Hugs}}} to you. It's very upsetting to be told of someone's sudden passing, regardless of your relationship to them.
@deepwoodslady, Thinking of you. Praying that you continue to be in remission friend. ❤
