My life has changed a lot the past few months. I do not have some of the things/people I had before that kept me challenged and motivated. Normally I do not care about the weight number...however I was lifting a lot. You look a lot different when you are doing a lot of strength exercise then when you are not.
So I am setting a goal tied to weight. Hopefully between this challenge and the activity that I can do on my own or at work will keep me motivated to stay on top of my game.

I am so pleased that I hit my CGW last challenge. This was due, in no small measure to the accountability of posting here week after week, and seeing how hard everyone is working towards better health and fitness.

Never give up! Never give in!

This will take me to my lowest weight in 40 years. I'm doing it 5 lbs at a time!
It has taken me almost 5 years to get here!

Discard 15 lbs by February 1. I weigh every day so will post every Friday .

This Challenge has given me the impetus to actually keep going, when in the past I have slipped back each time I got near to my goal weight. Thank you so much for all your support and encouragement. It has been invaluable to me.

    Original starting weight: 271.9
    Challenge Starting Weight: 243.8
Challenge Level: 5 stars (24 lbs)
Challenge Goal weight: below 220 (218.8)
    Ultimate goal: 160

Nov 1: 243.8, up from 241.7 2 days ago. I think this is basically some excess water weight after taco night, but I did go out and run yesterday for the first time since school started back up. Was able to start back up with my c25k right where I left off and keep up the pace I had back in August. Until I tripped and fell and scrapped my knee up pretty bad. It hurts every time I move it. I was planning on going running again tomorrow, trying to get back on track, but now I’m not so sure.

Nov 8: 240.2. Down 2.6. Knee is still a problem (large scrape means long heal time) but i’ve made my step goal before leaving school 2 of the 3 days this week, and was super close the 3rd day. In fact, was at 13k today after subbing in art during my prep and running stations in my classes. Hoping to be below 240 by next week.

Eek! I am freaking out. I went up my first week. Went to the store and stocked up in fresh veggies and salad stuff. Hit the gym too. Feeling bloated. I'm 5'7" and 47 years old. Last year I had a total knee replacement, not exactly up and around. Add #40. And get used to laying around putting my knee up. Been off and on bed-rest or knee-rest for about 10 years. Now, I am just sick of this weight. Determined to get moving everyday. Goal: min 30 min on elliptical or walking. I usually do 45 min/ or gym class like Les Mills BodyCombat or Step. The next day or two, super sore, but in the past stopped moving. I know it makes it worse. No more excuses. Veggie or fruit with every meal!

Hello everyone. This is the first challenge I’ve joined since joining Myfitness pal years ago. I’ve been trying to lose weight since January 19 and sadly still at the same weight I started the year with. I’ve put down my overall goal weight below and hopefully this will help me on my journey.
