I'm just barely out of overweight but I'm a little unnerved at how bony things are. The bump on my wrist feels huge. My knuckles seem huge. My ribs are easily identifiable. My knees are way harder to shave. My elbows are still alright though, lol.13

Yes! I keep feeling my shoulders and my collarbone and its so odd. My hip bones too. feels so strange sometimes10 -

That happened to me so I started squatting heavy and now have some muscle to sit on instead18 -

I was tossing and turning in bed and not getting comfortable. I couldn't figure out why. Then I thought my knees are hitting each other when I lay on my side. Who knew bone on bone was so uncomfortable. Lol!! Trust me when I say I have plenty of cushion in other places. Funny how we lose in some places and dont notice until little moments like these!! Here's to discovering bones!! 😁19

It could also be posture. Excessive extra body fat (such as in the chest or stomach) can contribute to it. Exercise and losing weight can help restore it.12 -

SAME! I have loose skin where my butt USED TO BE! It's really tough when a dude like me didn't have much of a butt to begin with ! haha (2020 goals, BUTT MUSCLES!)18 -
One thing that nobody tells you is that you need a LOT more layers hunting.
I haven't gone hunting since before I started losing weight. I just haven't had the time off work for it.
My husband and I went out opening weekend, and I went out in what I thought, based on past experience and what the temperature was, would be warm enough..
WRONG.
I froze. At least I know better now, that I need like 2 extra layers.
I'll be going out a few more times this year with my bow and I'm crossing my fingers that I stay warm. That was miserable.
And my BUTT. I never needed a seat cushion before. Sitting on a bench in a ground blind or sitting on a downed tree for hours used to not even phase me. I was comfortable anywhere. Now?? My butt might be more muscular than it was, but my goodness is it ever BONEY when I sit.22 -
That during the losing weight process, you may refuse to acknowledge that certain favorite items of clothing have become comically too large until the day one of them literally falls off your body. I even made a joke on here once about worrying I'd moon someone. I didn't actually think it would happen, though!
(Just my dog saw, thankfully - it was a very comfortable skirt, that took a swan dive when I stood up from my chair in the privacy of my own home.)30 -

I have this exact problem with my most comfortable sweatpants. They sincerely need to be retired--they're at least one size too large (like the difference between M and L) so I'm constantly hiking them back up, the fabric is worn away in spots on the elastic waistband, and the cuffs of the pants are frayed all to hell.

But they're so comfy!11 -

I found that as you loose body fat and gain significant muscle mass you're screwed with clothes. Everything you buy must be really stretchy or custom tailered. You'll find that America does not make clothing for athletically muscular fit people. Your shirts will be tight in the shoulders and chest and like a dress at the waist. Your pants will be tight as hell in the legs and *kitten* but wat too loose at the waist. Stretchy clothing is in your future.13

That there may come a time in your journey where you're so busy being active living life that you blink and are down another 10, 15, 20lbs. And that the fear and anxiety you had all along wasn't real.
I became a Nomad last year and moved to Europe and my quality of life has improved greatly. I walk everywhere that doesnt require a taxi, and I no longer struggle with emotional eating. I started losing slowly over the years and sabotaging/yoyoing as I was afraid of unwanted attention and the unknown.
I stopped focusing on the what ifs and lost more which seemed like overnight. I've got so busy that it became a lifestyle and dont even notice I'd lost more weight. The anxiety vanished and the unwanted attention I get doesnt send me to stuff my face. I just...deal.37 -

This!!! I do not own a single pair of jeans that fits me right.
They are all 1-2 sizes too big in the waist, in order to fit over my butt and thighs. It is so frustrating. And certain companies DO exist that make clothing for athletically built people, FYI. They're nice looking. $93 for a pair of jeans, though. Ouch. I don't know if I could do justify it, but if you're interested and its within your budget, check out Fran Denim.
I haven't tried them so I couldn't tell you about the quality. For $93 they better be pretty freaking good, though.5 -
The money you save via eating less at once, you'll be spending upon Glad wrap because you keep mistaking, how much you'll be able to eat!23

I even asked my athletic daughter how the heck she gets comfy and she just shrugged.
Does it get easier over time? I'm going to buy pillows today to pad myself out a little. I can only imagine how uncomfortable it'll be when the rest of this weight is gone7 -

It has somewhat gotten easier as I've lost more weight and I *think* it has to do with the fact that I'm not quite done. So some parts of me are still "heavy" while other parts of me are now where they will be. I used to not be able to sleep with my legs together because it would hurt my knee bones. Now, I can, but I noticed it came after I lost an inch on my thighs/calves so my legs got a little lighter. I bought a tailbone pillow 10lbs ago that I had to use to sit, but now that I'm overall lighter, I don't need it as much. It still can be uncomfortable to sit, especially on hard ground, so I don't think it'll ever go away. But I remember it being that way before I'd gained weight. I'd rock from side to side as a kid on my bum/hipbones to balance the weight. XD XD
YMMV, of course, but for me, the discomfort has gotten better.11 -

At 1st it's like sitting upon a bicycle seat {regardless, of 1's weight}, after a decade of not doing so. I bought an exercise bike, used it once & it hurt so immensely I was sore enough, that I was unable to even walk normally. I went to the store to purchase the largest, thickest package of maxi pads to stuff my pants, plus adhere to the seat with.
Within a week I was reducing the # of maxi pads, until a few weeks later none were necessary. The body eventually conforms, to changes.14 -
Occasionally I have dreams where I crazy overeat. Last night it was mozzarella sticks and a whole lot of Burger King chicken sandwiches. My in-dream self used to enjoy it but now it’s like an anxious “omg, what am I doing, just stop” kind of dream. Ugh.18
