Anyone who reads my ridiculously long posts and allows me to rant, thank you. All of you are my biggest support system I look forward to every. single. day. Especially during this time. Last year was my first year of Christmas "alone" but luckily by BF became by BF and we spend that time together. This year, I will be completely alone, not another soul. But, I know I have all of you to keep me company. I love reading about your journey. I have so much love for this group
Without the ability to rant and get things off my chest, I'd be so much worse off mentally and therefore physically. So thanks for being a part of my journey.
@beachwalker99 Thank you. I'm not big on long distance relationships (they've never managed to work) but I think our bond is strong enough. We knew that this move would separate us for an unknown amount of time but we are already making plans to visit one another and I'm working on finding a job down there so I can move. He's (jokingly) begging me to hurry up so the "crew" is complete since I'm going to be the only one missing now. Plus, he's talking about this being the hard part (getting the house, getting the utilities set up, etc. Mine will just include packing up and moving) and once moved, we can save up to buy land and build a house of our own. He doesn't seem at all worried at all about the long distance, despite his dislike of the idea (and absolute refusal to have a long distance relationship as when we started dating. I postponed us dating because I didn't know where I would get a job and I didn't want to get either of our hopes up to crush them). It sure is exciting, though. All the more motivation to finally go "home" (only place that feels like home). I love my job and don't want to leave, but I need to be happy with my living situation, too. I'm slowly coming to terms with that.
PLUS! My parents talked about moving to Texas if I did. Not super close, but closer than 11 hours away like they are now. Added bonus. So much good to be coming, just have to be patient.14 -

Yesterday was a gorgeous day and I went for I lovely walk along one of our three rivers. It was inspiring. And I’m happy to be starting a new round — I’m finally feeling focused and determined to stick to the healthier me plan. Many thanks to you lovely people for providing inspiration, example, and a safe place to slip up for a while.

I did well with eating goals yesterday though I did have a small glass of Bailey’s last night. I had a bagel this morning — and thoroughly enjoyed it! But have stuffed portobellos planned for lunch and veggie dinner. Feeling pretty much on track.

WHAAAAA? Clearly that’s not actual weight gain! I did eat dinner (all vegetarian dishes at master gardener meeting) later than usual, and some of the food was a bit salty and I didn’t get enough water yesterday, but really? 3 pounds??? I expect it to be gone tomorrow! Jeesh!

11/19: 286.4 lbs (-0.5), 17,005 steps … back down under the -100 mark again. I actually ate at maintenance yesterday (well, within budget if you count the exercise calories, I tend not to) and didn’t fast through breakfast as I usually do. I had a heck of an appetite. I stepped onto the scale fully expecting to see an increase, but I saw a small loss instead. Pretty happy with that.
11/20: 285.1 lbs (-1.3), 13,671 steps … a new low. Feeling pretty good this morning!
11/21: 283.8 lbs (-1.3) … another new low! This is already a very good week, hopefully I can hang onto this progress. Today is the last day of our step challenge at work, and my team is still holding onto the lead (and has done so for the past week and a half). I’m averaging 15,000 steps per day since 11/4, which is kind of insane for me considering my ~6-8k average before that. I’m committing to 20,000+ steps today just to make sure we cement our lead and have no surprises in the morning.
11/22: 283.3 lbs (-0.5) … another new low. And we did it! My team won the step challenge. I pushed myself pretty hard yesterday, doing 3+ hours of walking (23,500 steps) to ensure we held onto the lead. Going to let myself rest today, and then go back to trying to make sure I get around 10,000 per day.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

11/19 162.1 WTH? I stayed within calories but too much sodium and too many carbs. Usually, I'm not big on carbs but lightened up stroganoff still has a lot of noodles. I finally made it to the gym to lift weights, which is probably part of the retained water issue and all of the sore muscle issue. I have been so happy to walk again after the pulled hamstring in August that I've really neglected weight lifting. I'm sure this uptick will be gone in a day or two so I'm not sweating it. Headed back to StL today. It's a lovely sunny fall day so I will definitely go for a walk somewhere between KC and STL, either along the river or a park closer to KC. The stupid tilt of the earth making it harder to walk before dark
11/20 No Scale Great walk last night. Ended up going 4.75 miles. My app was paused for a long time and I didn't notice because the views were so beautiful and the book I was listening to was sooo good. OOPS! Ended up finishing in the dark. I wasn't happy with myself, my BF called me just as I was finishing and he was mad at me (I don't blame him, it was dumb). I'm on a very rural trail by myself - which he hates already but then on top of that now it's dark. Probably not the safest thing. I am going to change my schedule so I leave KC earlier in the day and can finish walking before dark. All that being said, I had a great calorie day, even stayed low on sodium. A couple of pics to justify my lateness.
11/21 No Scale A good 4-mile walk last night. The scenery was not nearly as beautiful but it was still nice. I was done well before dark. It's a state park and I will go back. Lots of BIG hills. Another decent food day and TOM is almost over so I hope to see a good number on the scale tomorrow. Not looking forward to the boring drive home in the rain
Oh well. No exercise today, I need a rest day.

11/19 - 175.4 Good day yesterday however very little exercise. I did make a few laps around the office to get in some extra steps - better than nothing. Need to find my fitbit, dust it off, fire it up and get those step numbers up. Gallbladder acting up. I've had occasional attacks but not often enough to cause concern. I'm taking ibuprofen and hoping it goes back to sleep soon lol

11/20 185.6 This isn't a surprise! I was feeling super bloated and barely peeing all day yesterday. All I know is that it's not real and I want it gone tomorrow so I can have my new Fitbit! ;D I'm also not too far away from my highest pre-pregnancy weight of 182. It felt like an eternity away when I was 212lbs!! Ah crap! Just realized I'm away on business for the last day of the challenge so won't be able to weigh in.

11/19 273.4 A nice loss for the start of the round.
11/20 273.0 I took my rest day a day early because I was experiencing some muscle fatigue. I seem to be doing better this morning so I’m hopeful that I just needed a little rest and that it’s not a flare starting.
11/21 271.6 I checked this weight six times, two of those was after walking the dogs. I have no idea where it came from, but I’ll take it.
11/22 271.4 Any loss is a good loss, I’m just happy that it wasn’t a false low yesterday and that I didn’t bounce from a high sodium dinner last night. I tried a ranch dressing that’s made with Greek yogurt and it was pretty good. My only complaint is that it comes out in clumps.

11/19 130.4, today’s my birthday and I have a lot of events this week (Some celebratory and some business related) so hoping can continue to build on the momentum of last week, but set a cautious goal for the week.
11/20 129.9, thanks everyone for the birthday wishes! I didn’t indulge too much yesterday but going to a Mexican restaurant tonight so will have some chips, guacamole and a margarita to celebrate!
11/21 130.0, back to the gym today but going to start slow since it’s been a few days without going and do 30 minutes. Going to an opera tonight so cheese platter and a glass of champagne for dinner
11/22 129.8, first night in a while that I don’t have anything to do so will be watching hallmark movies with the dog. I have some chicken and pineapple salsa so will make a rice bowl for dinner.

11/19: 215.6 (-1.6)/18.0 (-0.2). I'm still feeling stressed, but this weigh-in feels closer to where I actually am. I have officially gone from barely fitting into my XL shirts to fitting comfortably in most of my L shirts. Gotta love the NSVs; . I'm going to have to wait until tomorrow to hit the gym, but I'm excited get back at it (haven't been since Friday).
11/20: 216.0 (+0.4)/18.1 (+0.1). I met with an old friend for dinner last night. I kept things under control, but it was definitely "off-plan." I am planning on going to the gym tonight, with or without my wife. She just texted me to let me know that she is going to the dentist after work, so it's ME ALONE AGAINST THE GYM!!!
11/21: 217.2 (+1.2)/18.2 (+0.1). It was too cold last night for me to go to the gym on my motorcycle. And my wife brought home food from one of my favorite places. I ate half, and took the other half for lunch today, but it seems obvious that it has affected my weigh-in. Stress at work has got in the way of my going to the gym as much as I would like, and that (I think) has limited my progress in the last week. I'm not beating myself up, though. At this moment, as I think about my circumstances, I am pretty happy to be "where I'm at." My stress will pass, and I will get back into my routine. Even as I have been slacking, I have still never gone less than once per week to the gym. I'm just talking out loud.
11/22: 217.2 (0.0)/18.2 (0.0). @tiabirdie56 I AM ready to get back into the gym! It's "gym or bust" tonight, and, despite next week being Thanksgiving, I'm going to get back into my good habits RIGHT NOW. Skipping the gym is one of those warning signs that sometimes (often) leads me off-track. So is stress. I still feel like I'm "okay," but it's time to "right the ship." I already have my "relatively healthy" reward dinner all planned out. Today will be a good day, and next week is a two-day work-week, so I have even more to look forward to! I also just looked up and realized I'm at my SW for the round. Things could be so much worse...

@tiabirdie56 LOL When DD#1 had oral surgery (not for wisdom teeth) she wanted a pineapple milkshake and some fries from Sonic! And she wanted to go right back to school. The dentist said school was okay but she needed someone with her on the stairs-like any of her friends could have caught her if she fell! SMH 🤦♀️5
