    I totally get this. When I first started dating my husband his income was pretty crazy low but he lived a minimalist lifestyle and had zero problems making ends meet, very good credit, etc. There's a lot to be said for responsibility and living within your means.

    My ex wasn't too bad financially but he was always stretching himself to the limit and it was a bad influence on me, too. It was hard to save up a lot of extra money when someone else in the household regularly splurges on fancy electronics and car parts and other $1k "treats" for himself.
