55 lbs lost since returning to MFP, Oct. 2017
69 (76.8) lbs lost since Sept. 20177 -
This round is winding down. Looks like we're all getting close to our targets. I met mine this morning and now if I can keep it going for the weekend I'll be happy. Good luck everyone!
69 y/o female and 5'7" still (luckily)! I started this journey on Sept 17 2013 and lost 45 lbs the first year, then another 15 over the next 2 years. Unfortunately the last couple of years I've put that 15 back on. No excuses though. My goal is to lose 10 lbs from 165 to 155 and then re-evaluate whether I think I can get back down to 150.
Started R95 at 165 lbs
Ended R95 at 162.7 lbs
R97 CW: 162.9 lbs (on Thanksgiving morning)
R97 GW: 161 lbs
11/29: 163.6 Not a bad post-Thanksgiving bump. Off to the gym and some Christmas shopping
11/30: 163.1 Had sushi yesterday as a break from furniture shopping but managed to stay in control. Still carrying a bit of Thanksgiving extras but hopefully by Monday that will be gone
12/01: 162.6 On the way down again and hopefully I can keep that trajectory. Off to the gym for back and biceps
12/02: 161.8 Slowly but surely I'm going down
12/03: 161.5 Making progress. Lots going on here today so just a quick walk and some hip PT
12/04: 161.2 Still going down and feel confident I'll hit my goal this round. A rest day here but doing hip PT
12/05: DNW, I completely forgot to weigh when I woke up this morning and since I weigh at approximately the same time everyday it seems unproductive to weight now. Will see where I am tomorrow.
12/06: 160.8 A consistent drop since the day after Thanksgiving. A big workout at the gym this morning as well
12/07: 160.5 Looks like I'll make my goal this time as long as I can stick with it today..............LOL
12/08: 160.2 Made this round's goal plus a little extra which means I've lost almost 5 lbs in the last 30 days10 -
Female, 27, 5'5"
SW: 192 lbs
GW: 130 lbs
Short Term Goal: 175 lbs before my honeymoon in February.
Previous Rounds:R95: 190.6 -> 188.8 (-1.8 lbs)
R96: 188.8 -> 184.0 (-4.8 lbs)
Ended the last round on a whoosh and starting this round with Thanksgiving weight. I'll be happy just to maintain over the next ten days.

Up 1.2 lbs from Thanksgiving. I'll take that as a win. Some late night snacks pushed me over my calorie goal...those are definitely my downfall when it comes to staying within my goal.

Finished off the last of the pre-Thanksgiving leftovers. Time to get creative with the turkey and mashed potatoes!

Found out yesterday my sister is moving to the other end of the country in two months. Most of me is happy for her - she'll be living with one of her best friends and (other than college) she's never lived anywhere besides our parents house. I'm sad too though...I just moved back to our home state six months ago after going to grad school 12 hours away. It's been really nice living only two hours away from her...and now it's her turn to leave the state.

Didn't do a great job of logging my meals so the above is definitely more of an estimation than other days. Worked late and didn't feel like cooking so I went out for dinner.

Scale has been going the wrong way the last few days. I know I need to get better at saying no to the little voice in my head. Finished off the last of the mashed potatoes today, and now I'm off to Pinterest to find other ideas for the turkey.
12/05 187.4

That calorie count hardly seems like it can be accurate but as much as a rack my brain I can't figure out what might have missed. Made a turkey chowder with Thanksgiving leftovers, which turned out a little thinner than I wanted but otherwise good.

12/07 186.8
12/08 187.0*
* because I'm visiting family and this was not on my usual scale. Didn't do a great job tracking or losing the last few days but ready to start anew for round 98.

11/29: 160.0-Oops!
11/30: 160.2-Had a terrific bike ride, chilly (40*f), but it felt so good to be outside.
12/01: 160.2-Discipline flagging a bit. 😕 Maybe just post-Thanksgiving and gray sky blahs.
12/02: 160.0-25 minutes rowing and 15 stretching. Feeling more determined today.
12/03: 159.0-I guess attitude really is everything 😆.
12/04: 158.4!-A brisk walk (wind was fierce), followed by stretching. Tightened logging and increased protein a little bit.
12/05:158.0-I seem to have busted through my weight stall, what a relief! 30 minutes rowing, 20 stretching.
12/06: 158.0-Yesterday was a rest day. Caught up on reading. Anyone else find NYT’s Spelling Bee 🐝 totally absorbing?
12/07: 158.2-20 minute fast walk and stretching. Cross training has paid off with faster pace and better form. Feels good.
12/08: 158.0-Met goal for this round. A little frustrated with my slow progress, but have to give myself props for sticking with it.
Congrats to all the round finishers!8 -

11/29 162.9 Thanksgiving bump. Should be gone in a day or two. Just one more dinner this weekend. Still to dreary to walk too much but we'll see. Working from home today, so far still in pj's, but working on a powerpoint.
11/30 163.0
12/01 163.2
12/02 163.0 I swear I am retaining at least 2 pounds of water and have been for over a week. Oh well. It will come off. Why do I struggle with this idea EVERY TIME? I walked 5 on Saturday, and none yesterday because I had my last Thanksgiving with my Dad and step-Mom. Great day with them and the Chiefs crushed the Raiders. I won't be able to go to the gym tonight too many errands. So I'll walk tomorrow, it's supposed to be warmer anyway. I track my walking thru MapmyFitness but keep a log from that. I have walked over 500 miles this year and I still have all of December. Just think if I hadn't pulled that stupid muscle I might be at 600 miles. That's kind of incredible for me to think about. Ninety percent of that is outside, in the cold, in the rain occasionally, fell three times on the ice last winter. All over the country - Mississippi, Colorado, Washington D.C., Kansas City, St. Louis and Phoenix! It's December time for reflection.
12/03 162.9 Anything down is good. This is so frustrating. I wasn't very hungry yesterday and was more than 200 calories under. I'm going for a walk this afternoon. We're having a treat day here at work for a birthday. We cater to the birthday person's likes for a theme... she likes unhealthy crap. I made pigs in a blanket with cocktail weenies and croissants. I didn't have a single one while making them. I'm not sure if there is anything I will be able to eat. Oh well. I have my oatmeal for breakfast and just realized I left my lunch in the fridge at home... so I'll find something.
12/04 162.9 Ever wonder if your scale is broken? Just me? I went for a wonderful walk yesterday after work, 4.6 miles. I would have gone the full 5 but I was already running late. I did well enough with the treat day. Tracked everything as well as possible. So 1 wing, 2 meatballs and a LOT of guacamole (counted 7 chips) and fruit.
Today is another sunny December day, I will be leaving at 4 or earlier if I can get away with it. I think 4 miles would be perfect.
12/05 162.4 Down is better than up! I walked three miles last night and stayed within calories so WINNING! Another beautiful day. I brought things for walking or the gym depending on timing with work. Only one more day until Friday!
12/06 162.0 As long as it's going down I'm happy. I thought I'd have a whoosh at some point but I guess that's not in the card this time around. I walked 3.5 miles last night. I stayed within calories & sodium recommendation. I don't think I'm even going to get back to the starting weight of this round. It stinks when you have no major overage but you're still stuck and my only guess is sodium. It's Friday, my BF and I have been able to spend a lot of time together this week and should be like this until at least the end of the year. For us, that's a Christmas miracle.
12/7 160.9 Mimi whoosh! I’ll take it. Walked 3 yesterday despite it being freezing cold.
12/8 160.3 I’m down for the Round! Not out of obesity yet, but with a pound or less. Didn’t walk yesterday because I kept the baby all day. This is how she came to me when I said let’s put on your jacket, it was 50 degrees yesterday...

11/29 – 269.8 I had a great day yesterday, I stayed on track and under calories, but still enjoyed everything I wanted. It didn’t hurt that we had our meal a little early so I was able to skip lunch and have a little more of a couple things. Now today will be another story because we’re putting up our tree and ordering in pizza. I’ll probably see a temporary bounce, but I’m trying to plan to minimize the potential damage.
11/30 – 271.6 We had pizza and dessert, so I was expecting a bounce up today. I was still a little under maintenance so I know that the bounce will be only be temporary.
12/01 – 271.4
12/02 – 268.8 Back down plus some so I’m pretty happy with this. I was sick yesterday and took it very easy because the sick came with a fever. I’ll see what I think I’m up for today, but with MS I’m always afraid to push too hard when I’m sick, especially when it involves a fever. Either way I am not going to use being under the weather as an excuse to overeat.
12/03 – 268.0 I wanted to wait and be sure that I was at some new lows before saying this…. I’ve lost over half the weight I want to lose!! I have less to lose in front of me than I’ve already lost and that just feels awesome. I know that at some point the losses will slow, but I am prepared for that to happen. I am feeling better this morning and I’m going to try not to overdo things, but I feel like moving!
12/04 – 267.0 Having to take it easy for a couple of days was just no fun and drove me nuts, so I’m happy to up and moving again. It’s the week for nsvs because I have a new one today. A few months ago I got a bunch of clothes and one of the shirts I got didn’t fit despite supposedly being the same size as the others. Well after 30 pounds from when I bought it, it finally fits! I’ve been trying it on every ten pounds and it was always a little too tight in the arms and chest. On top of that I had to get a belt for the pants I bought at that same time because they’re a little loose and keep sliding down. It might be time for new pants again.
12/05 – 266.4 I had a bit of a rough day yesterday with craving one of my previously favorite junk foods. I stayed on track though and didn’t give in despite really wanting to. I think I’ll see about finding a few activities to do that will occupy my mind, so I’m not tempted to eat from boredom.
12/06 – 267.0 Not sure what caused the bump, maybe sodium, maybe hormones, maybe scale issues. *shrug* It’s all good and I’ll drop again. I did better with just wanting to eat so it made the day a lot easier.
12/07 – 265.4 And back down plus some. The bump up must have been water retention from one thing or another. I had an awkward day yesterday and just could not seem to get my usual walk in at all. I finally got it in, but I think I need to figure out a workable weekend schedule. On the plus side though I picked up some sweatpants and I got them in a men’s XL, and they fit! I was certain I had picked too small a size, but nope, I might even be able to tightly fit into a L, but I like to be comfy and not feel like a stuffed sausage.
12/08 – 265.2 I had a great day yesterday and hit 15k in steps! I’m just happy I didn’t bounce from water retention because some of my activity was after a slightly late dinner.

12/1-172
12/2-169-The mashed potatoes and pie are finally gone and I am heading to the gym with a friend.
12/3-170- I made it to the gym and worked hard, but later made broccoli cheddar soup that I ate late. I will go for a big walk.
12/4-169
12/5-168-I’m fighting a cold. I made hard boiled eggs so I can grab them quick to put in salads, on the go. Hopefully a walk...
12/6-169-Not bad after the quilter’s party, the food was pretty dang good!
12/7-164-I weighed twice to make sure. I took a big salad with meat to work for lunch and had a light dinner.

Day/Weight/Comment
11/29--207.9 No surprise after Thanksgiving. I hardly drank any water yesterday. Yesterday I went out and did the 5k Turkey Trot, and then took dog out for a long walk. The weather was perfect. I am making sure to get my water in today, and I am thinking of going to the gym later today, but still not sure if I should just rest instead.
11/30--207.2 I went to the gym yesterday evening even though I so didn't want to. This morning I went out and finished w6d1 of c25k and then took dog out for a long trail walk. I'm going to do a few errands this afternoon, and then relax for the rest of the evening.
12/01--207.6 Definitely an up and down on the scale these last few days even though I'm eating within my calories, so I'm concentrating more on my successes with my running and my working out. Today I met with up with my strength coach.
12/02--208.5 Ugh!
12/03--207.0 Thankfully the water weight is going.
12/04--206.5 Hip was sore yesterday, so I did not go out for a run. Strength coach today.
12/05--206.3 I've upped my water consumption, which is great, but it sucks having to go to the bathroom all the time. Run tonight.
12/06--206.7 No run last night, knee was sore. Gym today.
12/07--206.3 Great workout yesterday. Going for run today.
12/08--205.6 What a week on the scale...I had a 2.9lb swing this round, and many times it was mentally hard to keep staying on point with my eating and exercising while the the scale kept going up, but I did it! Yesterday I finished w6d3 of c25k, which was 22 minutes of running straight, and then I went out for dinner and even took home 1/2 of my meal. Strength coach today.

SW this round 165.0

UGW 135
Goals 1. Walk two miles or at least hit 10,000 steps everyday
2. Due a toning workout for 20 minutes 5X a week
3. Count calories, less pasta, bread
Ending weight from last round. 164.4 lbs
11/29 165.0 lbs (1470 calories, 8794 steps,) I didn't splurge to bad but it was Thanksgiving. Kids and their families home all weekend. Lots of food around and I will be making. Plan on enjoying a little. (+ .6lbs)
11/30 165.8 lbs (1537 calories in, 10989 steps) here it comes. So no exercise with family here and to much food. But enjoying cooking and hosting and that is why I diet in between so one can enjoy life in the now. I will get back to it on Monday. (+. 1.4 lbs so far)
12/1 166.6 lbs. (2000 calories in, 14000 steps) no exercise and more cooking (+2 lbs)
12/2 168.0 lbs (2378 calories in, 14,221 steps) family finally left late afternoon and they were good at finishing most goodies up or taking them with but I did splurge yesterday on calories. Did try cross country sking after our blizzard but it had freezing rain first and so the conditions are slippery only made it a mile. (+ 3.6 lbs)
12/3 165.8 (1195 calories in, 16,963 steps) took my back out just getting out of bed yesterday. So slow going and no sking but did get my steps in by taking down fall decorations and putting up Winter decorations. (+1.4 lbs)
12/4 165.8 (1032 calories in, 15,315 steps) accomplished all goals. Still hoping to get back to ending weight of round 96. (still +1.4 lbs)
12/5 165.8 (1474 calories in, 18,489 steps) I went to visit a friend and we did go cross country sking for 2.5 miles, beautiful day but then we socialize a little, so a few beers and I have found my stomach gets super sick now that I am dieting if I don't eat something while I drink so I am surprised I did not gain. But I have only three days to get back to what I was at the end of the last round and I don't think that is going to happen, Friday and Saturday is more time with friends socializing. Though I would love to lose weight, my main goal is to not gain anymore.
12/6 166 lbs (854 calories in, 13,359 steps) Disappointed in the gain, but I went with my husband to help inventory at his work and it was a lot of sitting or just standing counting, so that must of affected it. Plus getting home later, I was eating later. (+1.6 lbs)
12/7. 165.2 lbs. (over 2000 calories, went out with friends, 12,000 steps) thought for sure I would of gained. More Christmas activity today with friends. Hoping for the best. (+.8lbs)
12/8 165.8 lbs (1875 calories, went out with friends, 9190 steps) did not get a walk or workout in. I was hoping to get back down to last rounds end weight but I had 6 out of 10 days with family and friends, so it's all good. (gain of 1.4 lbs for the round.7 -

12/03 186.2 Went on a 4 day binge! Ugh! Business trips are killer for me. My goal for this round is to get back down (or as close to) my ending weight last round. I'm hoping that it's mostly water and it'll come off pretty quickly. Still on track for my end of year goal weight of 180! 179 would be nice lol.
12/04 185.2 Phew! Glad to see it coming back down!
12/05 185.2 TOM so I'm hoping to see more of a drop in a couple of days! I started smoking again in October after quitting for around 6 years sooo yesterday was day 1 to quit again. Actually wasn't bad at all!
12/06 185.1 So done with 185 lol. I was bouncing around 185 for so long last round too! Can't wait to get back into the 170s I wouldn't mind a big drop before the end of the round lol
12/07 183.5 Yessss! Now to hold steady for the end of the round
12/08 183.3 Awesome! I'm really happy to be back down to where I was and then a little bit extra! If I work extra hard next right I may be able to get back into the 170s 😁

NEVER GIVE UP! You can surprise yourself! I have.
What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

11/29 122.5 I know this is temporary. We went to Golden Corral, I had turkey, 2 Brussels sprouts, and salad. I made a cheesecake but turned my regular recipe keto. 12/02 129 Hey, everyone! Missed you! I've had some time away and I so clearly need to get back into the habit of daily check-ins. Everything that got me to maintenance will KEEP me in maintenance, and I've creeped up slightly past my comfortable maintenance range with Thanksgiving (+) leftovers (+) baking (+) some major life stresses over the past two weeks (sudden unemployment, woohoo!).
I was feeling great at around 125-126 for weeks and weeks until I let things slip at the end of November, and I want to catch myself now before I blub up too much and lose all my months of hard work. Already feeling squishier with only a 3-lb gain, and we all know how quickly a few pounds turns into ten.
For the rest of this round, I will: (1) log every bite (2) fast until noon (3) stay within my calories (4) post my weigh-in here. The four steps that helped me lose in the first place will help me refocus. Anyway, hi again!
12/03 129 No gain, excellent! Now hopefully, I'll be down tomorrow. Thanks for the welcome (re-welcome?), @deepwoodslady. I sure missed you all, too! @LisaW57 thank you, I'm hopeful.
12/04 129 As usual, easy come, sloooow go. I need to review my posts from earlier rounds on having patience!
12/05 129.8 I feel so bloated and icky. I honestly think that's a factor here, but truthfully, I've also been sampling bites of cookie dough as I prepare holiday baking packages. That has to be where my calories are skyrocketing. Tons of water and maybe some fiber should help. Oh, and NO COOKIE DOUGH! I've made these recipes too many times to need to taste test. I mean, come on, we all know whipped butter and sugar is gonna be good, no tasting required!
Even if I cross the line into 130 tomorrow, the absolute worst thing I could do right now is to throw my hands up in the air and say, meh, it's the holidays, I'll get back on track Jan. 1st. I could be up 10 lbs by then.
And here's the win in this little backsliding: last year, I totally would have given up at this point until January, giving myself a free pass to eat whatever because "it's too hard to watch calories at this time of year." Or I would have banished myself from the kitchen to avoid temptation, calling myself too weak to enjoy my favorite hobby at my favorite time of year.
But instead- because I'm now supposed to be in maintenanceland- I'm going to try to learn how to be one of those people who manages to surround themselves with tempting food and doesn't gain weight- you know, like those thin chefs/bakers you see on TV and think, how...? Is Giada de Laurentiis some kind of magical fairy? This year, I'm going to learn what it takes to become a fairy. And the fact that I'm even trying to become a fairy is a win.
12/06 129 Okay. Doesn't look like I'll hit this round's goal of 128.2, but I'm okay with it, considering it's December and I've baked dozens and dozens of cookies this week!
12/07 125.8 ??? I'll take it!
12/08 127.2 All right, a little under the goal weight for this round. Very surprised and happy with that, considering all the cookie dough I indulged in this week. Wouldn't have happened without you all, because it turns out, maintenance is harder when I don't check in with you. Thanks for welcoming me back, and I'll see you in round 98!9 -
Round 97:
Female, 57 yy, 4'11''
OSW: 177.1 lbs
LTG: 105 - 110.0 lbs or BF 23-25% (or lower, we’ll see :-)
STG: 110 (next milestone)
Goals for 10 Day Challenge: 110
Day/Weight/Comment
EW round 96: 111.2, BF% 26.4
Day/Weight/Comment
11/29 111.8, BF% 26.7% The Thanksgiving bump is on par with weekend bumps (higher calories + wine) and complete rest day yesterday so in reality not too bad!!!. This is at the start of a long weekend, so it may go up more before coming down, but sharing wonderfood with family makes it all worth while! Did have strength workout with trainer today as well as spin class, so getting back on track!
11/30 111.2, BF% 26.4 Yes! Back to low of last round. Good workout in spin class this morning. (realized I had a typo in weight yesterday so corrected it!)
12/01 111.4, BF 26.5% up a little, but within normal range of variability at this point. Did weight training workout this morning and went out for lunch with family (tacos!) and to see Frozen II. Did not have time to get to spin class in the evening, so used the elliptical at home for cardio. Used up leftover pumpkin puree to make a curried pumpkin soup with shrimp! NSV: went shopping to get a new winter coat as old large coat is too big! The XS fit though the waist and the hips, but was snug through the chest (fortunately have not lost all the body fat there yet, so went with the small so that I can wear sweaters underneath! Nice to not look like the stay puff marshmallow man!
12/02 113.2, BF% 27.1 Not sure where this bump came from - DOMS, inflamation, food retention, sodium, lack of sleep? Delayed outcome from last Thursday??? Oh well… Food/exercise are on track (better than most Mondays) so hoping it comes off as fast as it appeared! Busy day at work, so will hit the gym later - either spin class or pilates
12/03 111.1 Yeah back down and new low! Had weight training session with trainer this morning before flying to NYC for a meeting. Booked a session at the Peloton studio for a 45 min class. Ended up 12th on the leaderboard (based on total output) which was probably pretty good (they should be using power to weight ratio imho). Walked the 23 blocks back to hotel and ate there as did not feel like going back out ! great day for food and exercise!
12/04 DNW Out of Town over on calories time will tell...
12/05 DNW Out of Town Back home and made it to spin class tonight and then dinner out with family. Under calories for the day, so will see impact of trip/eating out has on weight tomorrow am. Likely up, but usually drops fast after trips as increase is often due to excess sodium. NSV went shopping at one of my favorite stores and have dropped another size for tops! Back to my old size at my best weight!
12/06 109.8, BF% 26.0 (busy with work did not post) **New low**
12/07 110.0, BF% 26.1 Made short term goal!!!! Unexpected with travel earlier in the week and eating out but happy to see this! Trying to decide whether to maintain here and focus on body recomp to reduce BF (belly area and some in thighs, although know can’t just spot reduce) or continue reducing until 105. Although with the holidays, will be thrilled just to maintain here! Off to spin class before dinner for cardio...
12/08 109.4, BF% 25.9 Yes!!!! (ok only ate #fakeFrito crumbs from bag that DH was finishing, but still within target!) Slept in rather than going to XTRAIN this morning, as today is weight day w/o trainer. Will either do intervals (rowing machine) or go to spin class in the evening. Interestingly my 7 day loss of 1.8 lbs is back where it was when I was on much lower calories 1600 vs 1200-1400 (loss last round the same or more after an initial slowdown in rounds 93-95 after moving to the higher calories). Exercise has not increased, and if anything I am doing less cardio now than earlier. Main difference that I can see is the heavier weight training; exercise calories based on heart rate tracked by my Apple watch are likely an underestimate as well as the effect of calories burned afterwards. Glad I stuck it out with the higher calories even though the rate dropped initially as so much more enjoyable!!! (course after writing this don’t be surprised if there is a bump tomorrow LOL)

11/30 173.6lbs 37.9%BF 7h15m/82 - whoosh! My sister is having Thanksgiving Redux today, so I am sure I'll bump up again, but hope to keep the damage to a minimum. Besides, that rich food doesn't sit peacefully in my tummy like it used to...
12/01 173.8lbs 38.0%BF 7h3m/84 - not bad for the morning after Thanksgiving II.
12/02 172.8lbs 37.7%BF 5h40m/75 - training this morning after a quiet-ish weekend.
12/03 173.4lbs 37.9%BF 5h17m/76 - good workout session, but long day with late dinner and short sleep = increased weight & BF.
12/04 173.4lbs 37.9%BF 6h15m/78 - sedentary day at work; hoping training this morning will shake things up.
12/05 174.0lbs 38%BF 5h53m/79 - this plateau I am stranded on is killing me!
12/06 173.8lbs 38%BF 6h58m/81
12/07 173.2lbs 37.8%BF 6h3m/76 - late night, sleep wasn't great. Great workout Friday - feeling it right now.
12/08 172.2lbs 37.7%BF 7h27m/83... missed goal by .2, but I will take any progress that might indicate this plateau has been broken! Plus, SORE! lol
@BSchoberg - Your BF% dropped by almost 1% (0.9%) within the round so that's a huge win in my book, particularly with Thanksgiving (times 2) in this round!!! Keep up the great work!4 -
@Elbee1 You bring back memories for me....When I would go see my mom in the memory care unit, and they were trying to get her to eat, I would unwrap a bowl of Reces Peanut butter Cups and place a few of her favorite cookies on top...she was in heaven, it mad me feel good, and I was always sampling as I filled her bowl.
Well.. thanks for writing to me. I just moved my parents (both have Alzheimers) on June 20th from TN to Texas (where I live) so that my husband and I can help take care of them more. We kept them in their home as long as we could with caregivers 8 hours/day/7 days as week. But then my Mom fell 4 times in May. The last 2 times she had to be hospitalized & then rehab. The 2nd one we took her out of rehab a day early & drove both to Texas. We moved them because we were afraid I'd lose my job since I went & stayed while she was in the hospital... both times... and I had been taking off some each month to go visit them for the last 2 years & can't afford not to work right now. My 2 brothers in TN ... 1 was helping out as much as he could (but some of us are natural caregivers & some are not quite. He did the best he could on his level)... the other brother is too sickly himself). I have another brother in FL (doctor). I just didn't know how much care they would require so soon after being here. Those last 2 falls were so rough for my Mom & she's not back where she was before them, healthwise. She was quite healthy before the last 2 falls -- physically. Wasn't using a walker or anything. Neither was my Dad, altho we had seen him stumbling a few times... so he needed to start using a walker. Anyway, there's been one thing after another, but we had to bring them because we couldn''t afford 24 hour caregivers & that was the new requirement after her falls. Anyway... it's been very difficult & stressful because we all know that these places are far from ideal, but my parents have actually been very happy there & I did pick a very good place... but still huge problems have occurred. The most recent one involving getting a dang prescription called in for my Dad who started getting sick a week, ago!!! Just a comedy of errors there and with the doctor. Also, my both my Mom & Dad have been declining pretty rapidly. My Dad now has a permanent catheter & my Mom can hardly walk using the walker.
Anyway... my husband has been absolutely amazing... however; with the stressful job that I have & now all the additional stress... It's my "new normal" and I need to accept it & just figure out how to deal...
Luv,

Round 97 (Round 1 for me -- Except that I tried this a couple years ago & then stopped... I will still count this as Round 1 for me...)
58 yrs. SW: 160
SW Round 97: 156 lbs
11/29 156
11/30 156.6 Am happy that was all I gained, as yesterday was not planned at all.
12/01 155.6 Stuck with my meal plans, yesterday, and was happy to see this.
12/2 = 156.6 Well, I'm not surprised cause I blew it, yesterday, and had 2 slices of pie. Why? just a weak moment & the temptation of this whole beautiful pie that was going to be thrown away. I took it home for my husband & then dove in, too. What a nut! I can & will do better!
12/03 156.6 not great, but good yesterday. Today I stuck with my food plan.
12/04 156 Yay! But today free catered wonderful Greek lunch provided by building where I work. I had planned my meals, so blew it! Then couldn’t get back on track. Stressful work & stress of parents & paperwork. Ugh. Tomorrow is another day.
12/05 157.6
12/06 157 But, today...stress eating is my downfall. Prolly will show a gain next weigh in. Another downfall is rushing. Much faster for me to eat a hamburger than a salad. Also, one of my other big downfalls is momentarily completely forgetting what I’m trying to do. Brought yummy sweet Hawaii’s rolls & Bamba peanut butter puffs for my parents in memory care. Trying to get my Dad to eat. He didn’t but I did..... also treat of little Debbie Christmas tree brownies for mom. I can tell she doesn’t want to eat alone & wants me to share the happy moment with her. So I eat too. She offered, I accepted. Most lousy excuses evuh!! But that’s what happened. Lol
12/07 157.8 Yep, I knew it!
12/08 157.8 Well, at least I didn't gain from yesterday which was a no good very bad day... Got to get used to my new normal ... more stress, so need to learn how to deal with it. Stress in my job & stress after work. Oh well. Elbee1 will have to learn how to deal with life & still make wise choices.
See you in the next round as I'm not giving up. Gained 1.8 lbs...

I feel your pain; it is so hard to see your parents decline with this terribly cruel disease. My Dad is in advanced stage, doesn't know me as his daughter, just knows that he recognises me, is doubly incontinent, confined to a wheelchair after a fall and broken hip and has practically lost the ability to feed himself. He was such a clever man and he was my Dad who could always help me out when I needed him. He is in a wonderful care home close by luckily and I am able to visit him 4/5 days a week, it its hard to see him deteriorating so quickly. All we can do is be here for him as much as possible and he is still my Dad.
You are doing the best you can for your parents and well done to your wonderful huband, stay strong, they are worth it, love & hugs to you.5
