My goal is 16-20 AF days for the month.
I didn't get there in October, ended up with 10 or 11AF days
November tally 19AF days out of 30 days.
New month : - )
December 01 - 3 drinks
December 02 - AF
December 03 - 3 drinks, Tuesday.
December 04 - AF - Time to rack up a few AF days before all of the holiday festivities. Or at least try to get back to 2AF days in between drinks days.
December 05 - AF

@whitpauly & @dawnbgethealthy thank you ladies! I'm feeling better. I think there is mourning/pity party process (?) and I have that right, but I'm feeling better now and thinking positively.

@forestdweller1 hahahaha oh my gosh, I could have written your post about the holiday "warm fuzzies." I obsess over creamy hot alcohol beverages this time of year. Bailey's Irish cream, peppermint or chocolate anything. Last year I had a chocolate wine and it was so delicious. I love sugar! Someone mentioned egg nog the other day and my head went to, "what liquor would go great in egg nog?" We were talking about how wine glasses feel in our hands but I have so many cute glass mugs with handles and I get all kinds of crazy, fun ideas this time of year. I'll think of mixes and garnishes and loads of whipped cream.
@mother_of_brigade I'm so sorry about the health issues. I have a dear friend who suffers from rheumatoid arthritis and I'm sorry about the additional issues. I'm sure cutting back will help (I'm in a similar boat as you, sort of, I think so). I'm trying just to lessen any inflammation and restrict sugar for the most part. I hope you accomplish your goals. I hope we all accomplish our goals!

December 06 - 3 drinks - I felt them more than usual, just 2 AF days, but they really hit me. Mind you, I barely eat during the day when I am running around working. I am thinking of you @Womona when you say that they are hitting you more strongly since you have cut down. Many glasses of water since the drinks, and off to bed soon.
Running Tally: 4 AF day out of 6 days so far.3 -
5/6 for me including an AF Friday night. I tend to get into the habit of Friday night wine, even when I'm at home and just drinking on the sofa so it's nice to kick that habit. Yesterday I might have had one but I didn't have enough calories anyway. I did have a couple of Christmas parties I could have gone to, but I am riding at 9am today which was another reason not to.6

The warm and fuzzies were creeping under my skin last night. Had to run into town for a few kitchen staples. Opened the door to go out side and it was snowing. Not any snow. It was those giant fluffy flakes from when you were a kid and could catch them on your tongue.
Driving into town the Christmas lights seemed magical dancing off the pure white snow. Lots of cars traveling to a near by Winter event. A real true holiday setting I expected to hear Christmas carols start to play in my back ground. Thoughts were running through my head and it had nothing to do with sugar plums. I thought, how lovely it would be to go down to the new brewery and have a pint of their jalapeno beer. 😈
Good thing I went to the grocery first. Because by the time I finished picking up a few items, the snow had accumulated a few more fluffy inches and the parking lot was slick.
I then imagined myself at the brewery with that pint, then leaving and slipping on the snow and wrenching an ankle. I know me well enough that I would naturally think people would think I had too much to drink. Or if I did make it to the car and start home maybe I would slide off the slick road and need assistance. Then the police would smell jalapeno beer breath and cuff me and drag me off to jail(slight exaggeration here).
PHEW just running those two senerios in my mind made me drive right home. Where I was safe and toasty putting together the butter cup soup recipe I bought the ingredients for. 😇

It really comes down to each of us being honest with ourselves. I know my alcohol weaknesses, and knowing those weak moments and admitting it keeps me in line. Have a great day in Vegas!4 -

My next door neighbors had a last minute holiday gathering yesterday. I had not even realized I was at a 27 day AF streak until I tallied it up. So knowing I was only walking next door and that I was bringing my own beverage of choice, I measured out enough holiday cheer to have only 2 drinks. Over the 4.5 hour period I was there that was plenty. Recall of conversations is one of my other top priorities lately.

Yikes this holiday season has been tough! I’ve only been AF two days this month! I haven’t had more than 2 glasses a go, but still. This week I want to string together five days of no wine! Hope all is well out there for you all7

@MissMay Smart idea to premature and nice pacing for only two drinks in 4.5 hours.
@SanDiegofitmom Good luck and you will get those five days... don't beat yourself up over a bad streak. It's over.

Hi again...new acct...old MFP’er that is back for the holidays (or longer) to make sure my weight stays where it is supposed to. I tried AF and actually loved it for a while. Then started drinking again. Played with the amounts. Sticking with light drinking. CYA around.6

December 8 - A bunch of drinks starting with a tree decorating at a friend's place. Tried to keep it at a half shot per drink to stay less alcohol. Kind of lost track, but they were all very small. All good. Planning on AF tomorrow. Tuesday is yet to be seen.

I drank yesterday and the day before so am going to try not to at a meal I'm going to tonight. The fact I have a cycling power test to do tomorrow will hopefully help keep me on track!6

Lol 😂 you won’t believe this but I was the popular bartender at the restaurants because I didn’t have the attitude or weird reaction to non- alcoholic drinkers. Many were drinkers but due to new medications for heart disease to being in a drug trial for another (Hep C customer) they could no longer drink. Another we found after she tried to attack me was sensitive to the most horrendous alcohol triggered hot flashes on earth because she hit peri-menopause hard! Got her alcohol free plus on some herbal black cohosh with fans portable y lots of water with me . Got the boss to lift her banned for life status. She had been an alcoholic since middle school age,proud to say she doesn’t miss it one bit! She’s in an alcoholic family with a alcohol company truck driving boyfriend so was a tough situation for her it’s like a soon to be non-smoker in a family who owns a hookah bar!

I was AF on Saturday, but did have two glasses of wine yesterday. This week will (see I didn't say should) be AF because The Nutcracker ballet tech week starts this week! My daughter has practice and shows all week through Sunday! It is a crazy time of year, and I volunteer backstage to help get the younger soldiers, rats, attendants and party kids stage ready! Every evening is packed, and that is my normal glass of wine time.8
