As of this morning, I've hit lost 66.6 pounds.
And that's just funny.
I still can't really see it, but I know I'm getting there. And its almost vacation. Things are looking up a bit.12 -
@Terytha That is so so awesome! I just posted a photo of my face from 3/12/18 after loosing about 15 pounds and yesterday after loosing about 30 more pounds. I was having difficulty really seeing it until I did this side by side photo of my face.6

Ok I tried. Still don't see much. =P

@lindaporter2018, what an awesome side by side! You look fantastic in both
@Terytha, I’m glad things are looking up a bit. Also, a perfect number—especially the day after Friday the 13th, I can’t wait until I get there.
@pamiede, you look great! I need to get better at taking comparison shots.
All of you are such inspirations! Especially since I have my family Christmas with the extended family potluck style. So, I am crossing my fingers that I don’t overeat.6 -
@Terytha Oh! My! God! Look at your beautiful eyes! In the first photo you look tired like you have no energy! The second photo you can see your beautiful eyes (and don't you dare say it's because your not wearing glasses!) And YOUR SKIN IS SO BEAUTIFUL! Umm yes! We all see the difference!9

@torihudson6 Thank you so much my friend! Ahhhh Christmas dinner! We are having my Unbelievably Moist Turkey Meatloaf and The BEST Homemade Baked Mac and Cheese. I found recipes for both on the internet and was able to copy the URL into MFP (along with the number of servings). MFP calculated the nutrients by serving for both recipes. We are also having baked chicken, a Patti Labelle sweet potato pie, a Patti Labelle peach cobbler and our daughter is making this Red Velvet soft cookies. The key for me is eating by serving size and not nibbling when I cook. I also eat a small breakfast when I know I'm gonna have a sizable lunch/dinner. You can do it!6

@Terytha oh wow I really see it!6

Okay so here goes....The next six months or so are going to be very hard for me emotionally. On September 9, 2012 my beautiful big sister died suddenly of a massive heart attack. It completely took me out emotionally and physically. It damn near sucked the very life outta me. She was like my twin. She's missed so much of our daughter's life which has been hard. I know she's looking down on us Well our daughter is graduating from college in May (on the National Mall in DC because she's at GWU). Before retiring in January 2018, I had work to occupy my mind but the holiday's are still difficult. This is a different feeling though..I can feel this feeling...I just miss her so much. This is one of the main reasons I decided to join MFP. I keep saying to myself...one day at a time.12

@Terytha, I can definitely see the difference! Sometimes it’s hard for us to notice a difference because we see ourselves everyday, but there is a noticeable difference.
@lindaporter2018–eating by portion size is a smart idea. I’m a grazer, I’m bad at just picking stuff up because it’s there. Also, I’m so sorry to hear about your sister. I can only imagine how difficult that was and still is. It’s hard to celebrate the holidays when someone important is missing. Like you said, all you can do is take it one day at a time. And we’re hear to listen when you need it.8 -
@lindaporter2018 Wow! Your side by side photos are so amazing! So inspiring🙂. I’m so sorry about your sister. It must be almost unbearable to lose a sister and I’m sure years going by can’t really ease the pain. My heart goes out to you especially during this holiday season. You know your sister is with you and your daughter and will always be close to you. Take care one day at a time.
@Terytha You are so beautiful and your weight loss really is evident between pics! 66.6 pounds gone and it shows!7 -
@lindaporter2018 we’re here for you! Just come here and let it all out before you turn to food for comfort. Let us do the comforting.7

Thank you all so very much and so appreciate the hugs. I feel the love! The day before she suddenly passed she said "Babygirl I'm so very proud of you!" When I'm on the elliptical machine those words have come to me so many times.10

I love all the side by side photos! @lindaporter2018 , @pamiede, and @Terytha you all look so great. And Linda, I'm so sorry for your loss. I can imagine that this year might be especially hard.5

Here's my side by side:
First photo was taken a few days into restarting on MFP. Second one was last week.

Final weigh in 1/1:
Dec GW: 201
GW: 150
Dec Goals: Cardio/elliptical 5/week (3 done)
Strength and Yoga 3/week (2 yoga/0 strength)
Water 8c/day (2 done)
Better than I thought it would be on the scales with so much sitting and traveling. Hopefully things will settle a little over the weekend. Exercise and water were just threw to the wayside. As of now I will only be traveling once next week. Momma has lymph node biopsies on Monday. Then I think she will probably be done until after the first of the year. Still haven't got a chance to catch up on my reading. I miss my peeps and hoping to get some reading done later today.11 -
Week 2 Update:
Height: 5' 9''
SW: 286.5 (June 3, 2019)
11/30/19: 221.6 lbs
12/7/19: 220.5
12/14/19: 218.9
12/21/19:
12/28/19:
12/31/19:
GW: 180
Goals for December:
Strength train 3 x week: 5/6
5K training 3 x week: 6/6
Get 10000 steps a day: 11/13
Eat no more than 100 grams of net carbs (Carbs - fiber): 10/13
Eat more than 100 grams of protein a day: 10/13
Drink 150 oz of water a day: 13/13
Log accurately every day: 13/13
Lose 8 pounds: 2.7/8
Weight loss is steady, but definitely slower than I've seen in the prior 6 months. Unless a giant whoosh comes, I may just need to accept that 8 pounds a month just isn't realistic anymore. I'm okay with that. I'm 63% of the way to my goal - that is unless I decide to move the goal post to 175.

We're all proud of you too. It hurts to lose someone but their love lasts forever, you'll always have that with you. ♡6 -
Love all the beautiful side by side pics. It has been great getting caught up with everyone. For those struggling keep moving forward a little everyday and you can make it through. Congrats to all who have had success this past week. I love coming here for inspiration and ideas.
@FGS1974 Awesome job on losing over 100lbs!! Hope you will share about your journey and things you learned along the way.
@Terytha I know you've been struggling quite a bit but all you've accomplished this year is something to celebrate. The devil's in the details and 66.6 isn't a bad detail at all.
@Aerohead21 You can be a weight warrior again. Keep focused on doing what you can comfortably and try adding a little more every few days.
@nebslp Great job on staying committed to working out. Planks are tough but adding some time to them every couple of days makes hitting that 2m easier. Good luck!
@torihudson6 For the party choose your favorites in small portions and skip things that you like but don't LOVE. I try to eat only breakfast on days I know will be filled with eating out/party situations. Hope you have a great time with the family.
@lindaporter2018 I'm sorry about your sister. Holidays are such a difficult time when remembering loved ones who have passed. What wonderful words to have heard from her. I know she is still so proud of you and her spirit lives on within you. Celebrate and enjoy the season for her memory because I'm sure she wouldn't want you to be sad. ((hugs))

I just appreciate you all so much! Seeing the side-by-side pics, reading the tips and encouraging words here is so uplifting. Knowing this is a safe place to vent or share concerns without judgment or negativity makes it a great place to be with some pretty awesome people. I'm glad I found you! And now, it's workout time!11

Bleh, today was a massive failure. Definitely overate and just succumbed to all my cravings. I feel so disappointed in myself. I didn’t do well yesterday and now today, which I know two days in the grand scheme of things shouldn’t be a big deal, I’m just disappointed. I know I’m stress eating and I can’t seem to help myself and then I feel so bad afterwards. Just a little down tonight, I hope everyone had a successful day. All we can do is try again tomorrow.8

Here’s my side by side. I don’t know how to take my brother out of the picture. I truthfully don’t know how much I weigh in the left but my highest recorded weight is 262.8 pounds. This is a 55 pound loss.
15 -
@torihudson6 don’t let a couple of days derail you. You are doing awesome. Make a list of things you can do instead of eating when you are stressed. Then you have it close by when needed. I need to revamp my list.6

Hi, I’m Ree, I’m new here. I weighed 144 pounds at my lowest which I was very happy with. That was 5 years ago.
I’ve since had a baby, bought a house and the stresses of life caught up with me and here I am, 82 pounds heavier!!!
I’m getting married in September next year and I aim to lose 50 pounds by then. So here I am.
I hope I can count on your support13 -

I haven't been posting much in this thread. Life as been crazy lately but I do come here at some point every day to see how everyone is doing. I am amazed and excited to see how much this group had exploded. I love how supportive this group is and want to say thank you to everyone here. You inspire and encourage me to continue this journey even on the toughest days. 💟

Last year I spent my birthday weekend with my twin sons. We had an awesome time!! When I looked at the pic, I couldn’t believe how much I had gained. I was really disappointed in myself. I needed to get healthy, not just for myself but for my children! My 💕´s. So I decided that I would not spend another year at that size. So, a year later ... I did it!
89.4 lbs lost, BP controlled and had a fabulous dinner with my loves 💕
