12/29: 134.0 - actually considered not posting my weight today and just saying I did not weigh. Went over calories yesterday, had some crap food (date night) and will just own it and move on. I better not spend the whole 10 days getting back to 133 again like last round.
12/30: 132.0 - much better! Now to stay here or get lower, that's the plan. No work out yesterday, it was my only non-work out day of the week and I considered going for a walk just so I could have that 7 day streak but worked around the house instead. Ate great yesterday, I'm back off the sweets. Was so good for months and then gave in a little with the Christmas baking but it's out of my system. Planning some weight lifting (chest/triceps) and 2 hours or more of pickleball today. I know I'm a broken record but if anyone is interested, I wholeheartedly recommend checking out pickleball. It has 1000% changed my life. It's so accessible to people of all different fitness levels and the people are extremely welcoming. Happy New Years Eve Eve!

One of the things I love about being in this group is the way it requires me to track weight daily, giving me a broader sense of the ups and downs that are a natural part of weight loss. If I look at the stats from last round, it appears that I gained 2.6 pounds:

It was Christmas, it's okay. But. If I look at my ending weight for the previous round-Round 98- I see that it's pretty much the same as the end of 99 (127.2 vs 127.6). The truth is, I was 125.8 for only one day, and it skewed my beginning/ending stats for Round 99.
In other words, I've totally been maintaining at ~127 for weeks! During the holidays! Yay! Don't forget to look back and learn from previous rounds, guys. You may be doing better than you think!

I'm back! Lost my focus the last couple of rounds and just could not get it together. I fell off the wagon and have gained about 6 pounds since Thanksgiving. I am sure some of it is water weight, but I probably did gain a couple of real pounds to. My 2nd oldest flunked his first semester of college, my daughter and oldest son both had car accidents within the last 4 weeks (both ok and no permanent damage), I have had some health issues to deal with, and on top of all of that Christmas. So I turned to alcohol and eating fast food instead of meal planning. So my goal this round is just to figure out where I really am weight wise and start working to get back to my maintenance weight of 135-139. I am also going to get back to meal planning and learning of other ways of dealing with stress rather than drinking beer. Who said adult children are less than work than little kids, lol! My husband and I may end up in the crazy house dealing with them.
12/29 - 143.1(up 5.4 pounds) Ouch! The last month has been filled with a ton of stress and lack of sleep. Today is my first day back of logging in and trying to track. I have been horrible with my food choices and my alcohol intake the last 3 rounds. I will do better this round.
12/30 - 143.7 So I didn't do better! Drank way to much for the last Cowboys game and my food choices were better, but not great. Back at work today and on track so far. Really want to get back into the 130's, so we will see what happens.

I love Yoga with Adriene!! I'm actually signed up to do her 30 days of Yoga starting Jan 1st (because I'm horribly inconsistent). She does a FANTASTIC job and I know I can always find a video of hers on youtube that will assist me with whatever my concern is for the day.

69 years old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion... ...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.
We used to walk 5 miles a day. A pinched nerve and back surgery side-lined me for about a year. Then I had back surgery. Now I'm waiting to get my hip fixed. Hip Doc said surgery in April. Ugh! I can't do any walking or biking...both kill me. I see my personal trainer three times a week. She is taking it very slow and easy with me.

Back to life! Back to reality!
Last year, my goal was to get down below 160, to allow me to enjoy the indulgences of holidays and celebrations.
This year, I exceeded that and have been below 150 for most of the last 2 months.
Last year, I put on 10 lbs over the last 2 months of the year.
This year, I have consistently lost weight since the end of July. I have put on about 4lbs over the Christmas break, but am still below my original 2019 goal.
That's a WIN in my book! And I still have 4 days to drop some of that overage before the year ends.
I have already hit my 2019 goal. The trick now is to stay there as I travel through the minefield of December. 😂
I need this more than ever now that I am in maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.

REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

That being said, my sickness feels like a bit of a reset, one that got me back into some good habits. I'm going to try to take advantage of the "opportunity" I've been "given" (nice way to phrase my horrible illness).
12/30: 218.8 (+1.6)/18.4 (+0.2). As always, I spoke too soon. I need to remember that the moment I'm feeling too good about my progress/work habits is the moment that I let myself slide a little. I could have said no last night, but after my reasonable dinner I had some leftover Caesar salad (wife went out to dinner) and a Cinnabon. There's plenty of blame to go around, but I am the only person that is responsible for me. I regretted both choices as they were happening, but not enough to make me stop/slow down. I'm going to think of this as a "blip," and I'm going to try to move on from it.

Thanks @grandmajackie, this challenge is great. First time joining in. I love setting short-term goals and everyone’s posts and successes are so motivating. Two days ago I hit my heaviest weight ever. I’m on my third day of eating healthy and exercising.
My 10 day goals:
- Row 7 out of 10 days
- Eat minimum 4 serv of vegies/fruit each day
- No sugar or processed food
- Intermittent Fasting 16/8 (5 out of 10 days)
- Drink, drink, drink ..... water
-1500 calories or less per day
- Don’t put things off until I lose weight - live as if I'm already there!

What I did well: Ended 16/8 intermittent fast at 10am this morning for 18 hrs fasting. This works for me because I'm not hungry in the mornings. I can go to bed hungry and wake up not hungry at all and I eat 2 meals the day my fast ends. Waterrower for 30 mins, actual calories (not net) 1197, started new fast at 3:30pm. No sugar. No processed food. 4 vegies.
What I can improve on tomorrow: Eat at least 2 serv fruit, drink more water - only 5 cups today. Add some reps with free weights.
12/30 - 182.7 Yay! Ended Fast of 18 hrs. Too early to doc how today went but I have to say I feel very optimistic. I have never joined an online group before and I can already tell the accountability factor, reading all your posts with how you're doing and seeing your progress is extremely motivating. Additional goals: be able to climb 2 flights of stairs in house without getting winded and not have my bra cut me in half - sorry to the guys on here.
Evening update: Calories 1015 (not net), rowed 30 mins, did some free weight, stopped eating at 4pm, and did NOT eat sugar, which is great considering my cravings are all-in after the holidays - but they are subsiding, thank goodness. During the holidays I would bake a lot, for example pecan bars. I would eat so many and then at night when I was totally sick, I would add something to them that I can’t eat like crumbs from my husband’s cookies that say “made in a factory with peanuts" (I have an extreme peanut allergy). And the next day, I would be so disappointed that I did that and couldn’t eat them, I would make more. Yep, my husband thinks I’m nuts. Of course he thinks I’m being disciplined with the ice cream in the freezer because he doesn’t know I put some of his almonds that say "made in a factory..." in them too. You just got to have that craving “thing” to understand the I-can't-just-eat-one ___ (fill in the blank) and he definitely does not have it. It astounds me that his cookies last forever!. Of course, that’s why he’s thin and I’m not

12/29 - 195 womp womp, I got down to 189 by Thanksgiving, but then December just went straight to hell. I started going up without any diet changes to 192, and I felt bad about it and powerless so I decided to just give myself a diet vacation until the end of Christmas and now I'm up to 195. Not tooo mad about that because all the junk I ate for the past two weeks only brought me up 3 pounds, but still I'm feeling like it's time to get back on the wagon and stay there
12/30 - 194.2 hooray, going back down. Recommitted to keto and so far so good. I got a lot of exercise in this morning and did pretty well for my diet, but had more carbs than I should have at lunch. I'll try to do better tomorrow

Just seen this thread and it looks awesome- great to keep me accountable- hopefully. Been on MFP for ages, well always had it in the background. 2019 not been a good year weight wise, I’ve put on a shocking amount of weight after otherwise being a healthy (ish) weight for years. Anyway here goes....

12/31 217.0lb Had a very good ‘leg’ session at the gym yesterday and I’m feeling it this morning in my quads and calves. Back to it today, bench pressing and some HiiT on the stepper planner before the New Years Eve festivities. Takeaway has been suggested by family, so I’m going to let myself have it, but make sure it fits within my calorie goal for the day. Oh and 3 weeks into being alcohol free- taking my own AF beer!!

12/29 135 - whoops forgot to weigh before coffee and water! 5.6 miles walked yesterday, 400 calories & 26 carbs over, worst of illness over just been left with a cold now,can cope with that !!!! Do feel I fed my fever yesterday !
12/30 135 - weighed after first coffee again, 10.38 miles walked yesterday, calories & all macros in green.
12/31 133.2 - yay! I knew I was back counting & logging but didn't expect that much of a whoosh!! Fantastic! 11.2 miles walked, a wonderful sunny winter's day out on the trails in the National Forest yesterday. All macros & calories well in green. Happy New Years Eve to all my MFP buddies, hope you have a healthy and enjoyable last day of the year.

12/29 - 388.6 - Walked around a local mall 1.2 miles, will take another walk after dinner.
12/30 - 393.4 - Forgot to weigh myself this morning so this is after lunch + haven't been out yet (later today, though) because of the rain.
12/31 - 390.1 - I'm having a little knee pain, prolly from stress since I haven't been active + carrying so much weight. Could also be compensation since I'm also having some back pain and Meralgia Paresthetica (burning in front right thigh muscle). Stretching and foam rolling should help.

12/31 - 153.9 - Hello again, how I've missed you! Hoping to say goodbye to 154.x and above as I say goodbye to 2019. Came in early to work so I can leave a little early for the football game and hopefully make my spinach artichoke dip for the group after. I still have to get some groceries for it so I'm not quite sure if it'll be for tonight or tomorrow. We shall see how things go. Happy New Year all!!
Edit: Boo, I realized TOM will be here any day now to help me ring in the new year. This makes me worry I'm not going to be saying goodbye to 154.x and above after all. Going to just have to work extra hard to stay on top of things in hopes I can avoid a blip (or that any loss is greater than or equal to any TOM blips I have)

Previous Day's Comments12/29 - The scale behaved better this morning. It actually shifted numbers when I moved so I believe this weight. Not bad for having an early dinner out with friends and a few drinks. I did wake up extremely thirsty so I drank almost a full bottle of water before I even got out of bed so I'm sure this is a bit higher than it would be had I not done that. Honestly forgot about weighing until I finally got out of bed and went into the bathroom. Quite happy to see 154.x again despite the water chugging.
12/30 - Holding steady, I'll take it. I was so hungry so I ended up having a really early dinner and then was hungry again when I went to bed. I knew I'd get a stomach ache if I ate that close to bed and it wasn't painful hunger so I let it go. Not hungry at all this morning so I'll take that as a win. Trying to fast until 11 (our lunch) and start this week with a good 19 hour fast. Also love work weeks simply because I'm THAT much better with my water intake. I get so lazy and forgetful at home. Goal is to continue water intake on Wednesday when I'm off.

12/29 - 239.2 Wow this thread has exploded in the last day or two! I need to catch up! Weight fluxed up for no apparent reason, but a random pound back and forth is not unusual for me.
12/30 - 238.4 Okay at least it is headed back in the right direction. Portion control yesterday, but the weather was too nasty to consider a walk. Today looks like more of the same (thunderstorms, tornado watches), so no lunchtime walk in a suit, but at least I can take a leisurely few laps inside my office building (it has a perimeter hallway.) The rest of the Christmas cookies and fudge and candy went into the freezer last night, and some pastries and mincemeat pies are headed to the office to get them out of my hands.
12/31 - 238.8 Going sideways weight wise. Today's lunch is mostly fruits and veg, so that might help. But there is a NYE party tonight..... ugh. I just know it'll be fried things and sweet things and adult beverage things. My inner fat boy is still firmly in control -- I have to lock him up!

Lol, I can SO relate to this! Bought an organization shelf for my sewing room yesterday and put it together because I felt like I was drowning in fabric scraps and remnants. The only bad part about doing all these sewing/quilting projects is it is such a sedentary activity. I really have to MAKE SURE I get out and do something active which I haven't done a good job of the last two months (hence some weight gain). But that is part of my new goal here. Be active everyday, somehow!

12/29 169.4lbs, 36.9%BF; 7h27m/78 - unexpected loss, but I will take it! Had an extra day at the gym last week... I'm sure that helped. And when I was over, it was usually protein & a little fat; kept carbs on lockdown as much as possible.
