BOOM! Somebody is a WINNER and that somebody is you--super tremendous NSV!I swam 30,000 yards this week.
Absolutely wonderful...YAY YOU!!!I’ve worked out 6 days this week - including 2 runs!
Feeling so much more positive
Wow! That's impressive and I LOVE your avatar pic!imabeevampire wrote: »I didn't give up after 3 days like I usually do, I'm still here, still drinking a ridiculous amount of water and listening to my body when I feel hungry
The highest of fives to you & {{{ Hugs }}}}. May you continue to win all this new year and keep up the terrific work!7 -
1) Today I completed my sixth parkrun over the last two weeks and my third (two on New Year's Day plus this morning's run) of 2020.
2) I was offered a piece of cake by DH. I made him weigh it, took one small bite from it and decided that I'd rather have a banana. Dumped the cake and ate the banana. Way nicer. Cake is meh.30 -

Wow! What a victory it would be if I could manage resisting cake! Nice going on the parkrun. I'd just done my very first one today!7 -
1. 100 miles of walking in December. That was just the Nike app, doesn’t count elliptical.
2. Walked 4.6 miles in 58 minutes in the pouring rain.21 -

You are the BEST cheerleader, my new mfp bestie!!!🏅🙌🌹💕4 -
I am 67 years old and got hit on twice at holiday parties-did wonders for my ego

I put some chocolate (that I hadn’t already eaten in one go) in the drawer for another time and didn’t break a bit off to eat.18

I finally have my mental health in a good place. This has helped me to take better care of myself. I have been on a cleaning rampage and normally I would be too busy to eat. But today I made myself stop and eat some almonds for a snack when I was getting tired. Taking better care of me helps me take better care of my daughter who is dealing with some major health issues right now. So double NSV. Triple if you count forgiving my self when I fall and just getting back up again.30

I had shin splints in December and had to abandon my marathon training plan plus in the 3 weeks of no exercise before Christmas and up to New Year I induldged, ate excessively and put on 10lbs.
The NSV is that this doesn't phase me, no spiralling and giving up. My new running plan is in place, the sweets I got for Christmas will be used as mid-run sustenance instead of paying for expensive gels or just scoffing the lot. Already back down 4lbs and I see the rest being off by the end of January at the latest.
Very impressed @epangili and I am a few steps behind you however I will get there!
Happy New Year everyone!20 -
I’ve been terrible with my eating over the holidays so I’m avoiding the scale like the plague but I was happily surprised last week to find I could do power pulls around the entire rink during a skating warm up session. They are not a terribly difficult move but they require a bit of strength and balance and I haven’t been able to do them with out stopping since I started back to skating in September (after almost 2 decades away) so I’m pretty proud ☺️18

I went to the gym today, and had several NSVs.
First, I ran for 15 full minutes - my goal was 5. I did come up with a new goal that proves I’m ultimately a very lazy person. The treadmills there have these ”speed dial” buttons for even numbers of speed, and my current somewhat comfortable, very slow running speed is 7 kph. The next even number would be 8.0kph, and I want to increase my speed to that because I don’t want to manually set my speed by pushing the button until it runs up to my desired speed.
Second, I did a strength workout even though my original plan was to either do a slightly longer run OR a strength workout.
Third, it was VERY crowded, but I kept my anxiety and insecurity at bay, focused on my own workout and completed my routine anyway. By some chance, I didn’t even have to wait to use any equipment, even though there were lots of crowds.27 -
Today I hit 365 days streak logging in myfitnesspal - 1 whole year! I was able to make it a habit this time when I always struggled going more than a few months before.

Sympathizing with you The MrWobbly... I gained 4 poundages due to higher carbohydrate intake of Christmas delights at 6 Christmas parties but lost half even with my drunk driver injuring me 2 weeks after the increase.
I have every confidence you will be debt free 2020 TheMrWobbly - you can do it!!! Jesus and Dave Ramsey's program/books helped me. Cheering you on my faithfully and happily married platonic mfp Brit friend!!!6 -
Today at church, this lady eyed my $4 thrift store banana republic dress that I bought as small victory reward to myself saying admiringly and longingly "YOU have nice little figure!"16

A family member commented my legs looked much thinner and asked what I was doing.18

Thanks @epangili and @moonangel12 and I will look these up for sure. Really sorry to hear about your injury @epangili - hope it is not long term?
NSV from yesterday - my first 10k in under an hour14 -
This is my most current NSV. When I first started my weight loss journey my stomach was touching the steering wheel when I would drive. Today, there’s a good 5-7 inches of space between my stomach and the steering wheel. Wahoo!38

@Kaitie9399 I love that NSV. It's weird how our bodies "fit". I find myself at restaurants all the time thinking, was the table always this far away from the booth?? It's a great feeling.
My kind of NSV is that I've lost 25% of my starting body weight. It's certainly related to the scale but darn it feels good.22 -
I look great in my t-shirts again. No gut and small manboobs sticking out. 😜20

My 14 y/o son has started asking me for nutrition advice! Healthy habits starting to rub off.
Also my boyfriend lost over 40lbs just because of how I’ve been cooking. He looks amazing. And things have definitely improved in the romance area for us 😉32 -
Life is GOOD, period.NO MATTER how "seeming" ugh/blah/yuck" it's (or a least could be) a matter of "perspective" Even when it/life seems not to be so-called "good", the experiences we can learn from failure/yuck/ugh and woe" can teach us in ways we wouldn't otherwise learn.
I got what I thought was an unexpected large bill today, called in to the place and the company said it's a CREDIT due to rebate or something that we did last year! YES HONEY--BOOM and YAY!
Then got an order in the mail today that had some damaged items in it, I JOYFULLY called customer service (with a loving and understanding "tude") to let them know and they are not only resending (via expedited shipping) the damaged items, but are also including some FABULOUS extras at no cost. YES HONEY--BOOM and YAY! I've said it before and I'll say it again, YES, there is a lot of darkness and UGH/YUCK/WOE in this ole world, BUT...there is equally (if not more) A LOT of Light in this old world too--one has to L@@K for it though, by the way one thinks/speaks and behaves. There are a LOT of beautiful, wonderful, AMAZING people in this ole world and striving to ever be one of those tremendous peeps is so much FUN and DOABLE. I love that somethings/MANY things that seems bad or troublesome or yuck often times can and does turn into something fantastic--it's all it the way we think, speak and do about it. Turning a loss into a win is the stuff FUN/JOY is made up of to/for me. YAY!
P.S. I'm going to include this relatively unrelated pic on here, just because it's so SUPER CUTE and my state of mind/being.

This a little bit past its sell-by date, but found this while sorting outdated stored clothes.
Lowest level is my inactive, obese life jeans (US 20 or 22W).
Mid level is my been-active-for-years, still-obese (appx same weight) jeans - obese recomp! (US 18 misses)
Top is current jeans, US size 6.
These span close to 20 years, so there's some size-standards changes in there.

I've finally started losing weight in a place that I actually care about! My weight loss started at my wrists, then made dents below my ribcage - the middle part didn't shrink much, and neither did the lower part, so I just have weird dents with a jutting out ribcage but it doesn't look any different when I have a shirt on. But now, my butt is smaller. My pair of pants (I wear skirts, so I only have one pair) is even comfortable while standing up, and tolerable when sitting down. But it has started to get a little bit painful to sit on the floor, for some reason (I haven't lost that much padding).
Also, I've managed to squeak into the overweight BMI category, which is exciting.26 -

TheMrWobbly Thank you. Just 3 more physical therapy sessions to go! Hope you recover sooner rather than later as well.
NSV intervened 3 middle school students precarious emotional and dangerous situations by calling in the counselor ASAP as soon as I caught wind of it. Two involving alcohol and one involving heartbreak with a boy. What a dramatic 1st day of school back from Christmas break to kick off 2020...10 -
My nsv: even though my weight fluctuates between 2-4 pounds lost after a month and a half of consistently working out my measurements have change by 3 1/2 inches or so and its starting to slowly become noticeable

This is definitely a scale victory, but it's significant so I'm sharing anyway. This morning, I reached the 75 lbs lost mark. I have never reached this point on any weight loss attempt. My middle number also changed, and I haven't seen this "decade" since around the time I graduated from high school 25 years ago.31
