    Had another good day! Ate very healthy and kept portions where they should be. No exercise yet but I am committing to doing something tomorrow! My knee feels a little better today.

    happy Sunday guys.... i’m doing really well and i’m so proud of myself, finally see movement on the scale, which is super motivating. let’s ALL push through it’s a new week, let’s kick butt! hugs to all.

    cathy, I wish you well, please don't do anything to jeopardize your knee, sounds like your eating like a champ.

    Fatima, I am looking to you for inspiration, I stepped on the scale today and I haven't lost anything this week, I am devastated. Although I went to put on my dress shoes for church this morning and my feet were swollen. Water weight. I have gone from eating everything I could eat at any time of the day, to eating yogurt, cottage cheese, celery w/ peanut butter, toast for breakfast, and a salad w/ diced meat and a few walnuts and a little dressing. This is a total change of food for me.

    We'll see the true number when I weigh in on Tuesday.

    Don't be discouraged Ladycopnh1 I struggle with water weight too. I find drinking at least 3 16 oz bottles helps.
    Has anyone had any success with using walking as cardio? I'm really out of shape and I don't want to over do it.
    Usually (when I was consistent) I would do a HIT workout but that sent me to the ER the last time I tried it.

    I would love to be part of this group. I am well into the two hundreds. Dont really know how much exactly, my scale needs new batteries. I have many issues with feet and knees. I was biking up to a few years ago. Love it. However, I was having a lot of issues with biking. Finally went to Dr. To discover I have a health issue. I have tried biking a number of times since diagnosis and it is just too painful. I have nerve entrapment amongst other problems with feet. Been to specialist, need to have surgery, but not guaranteed to bring pain relief. So as I have had this for years now, I scrunch up my foot as best I can and try to walk. I have always loved walking. Have had problems with knees since teenage days. Had surgeries, mris etc. Doc thinks I need knee replacements. To be determined. Just had another Mri on Friday. I look stupid wearing Crocs in winter. Only footwear I can wear sometimes. As I haven't been as active in the last couple years, I had blood work done, my sugars are a little high. Thank fully, I am cognizant of what I am doing and have been working my way slowly to changing. I have made drastic changes to my eating recently. I logged myself back onto mfp after a long hiatus. Trying to watch especially carb intake.
    I have been thinking that it is probably a good idea that my scale needs batteries. I tend to let the number on the scale dictate to me. It hasnt mattered what I tell myself, it just becomes this inner stumbling block in my brain. Then I get frustrated. I think I would rather look forward to no scale victories. I know I have lost weight. My clothes already feel and look much better .

    I love animals! I have always been a cataholic since little girl. I do however advocate for all animals !
    I love fostering pets and doing whatever I can to support animal rescue.
    I will be 63 soon. Been happily married almost 43 yrs. Have 3 wonderful children, a 5 yr old granddaughter. Love having her over. I am furmama to a dog and 4 cats.

    I love gardening, sewing, reading and genealogy. I also like to watch the classic comedy, romance movies from the 30s, 40s and fifties.

    I sure hope that we can attain our goals in a healthy manner. Happy New Year!

    @ladycopnh1 - please don’t get discouraged. i also had no scale movement until a couple days ago (then boom 3lbs down).... it’s 100% water weight. i’m going to also tell you something else, not sure if it’ll work for you but it worked for me, my coworker gave me this advice, i said the scale is not moving but i’m eating right and working out also, she (my coworker) replied..... before you eat anything walk or slow jog for 5 mins before your meal and immediately when your done eating again walk or slow jog 5 minutes afterwards. she said do this Breakfast Lunch & Dinner and she also said try to avoid snacks temporarily. I followed this for 2 days and saw the scale cooperate (-3lbs) and i’m currently today still following her advice.

    I made some real headway in my attic/soon to be home gym. Got all the crap out that my housemate left when he moved out a couple weeks ago. It was gross! I vacuumed and figured out where I want to put the treadmill, next is carrying up the pieces to the weight bench and assembling it. I'm so hungry because I got busy and forgot to eat, I think because my knee feels so much better. I have to go grocery shopping! I can't wait to weigh in on Wednesday. I won't care of it's water weight. I'm so happy to see all the nice women here!

  • I would like to join in the group. I want to lose 70 lbs. I am the heaviest I’ve ever been. I’m down on myself a lot. I struggle with depression, anxiety, low self esteem. I have been trying since the new year. I was doing good for a few days and then went backwards eating sugary snacks and carbs again. I’m an emotional eater. I didn’t get my exercise in the last couple days. I really need help with accountability, like a partner. If anyone is up for that too let me know. I really need friends to send me messages daily and check in to help me stay accountable. I’d like to do a weekly weigh in. Support is crucial! Thanks all!

    Hi all, as we go on the journey together please take a moment to think about some non-scale victories you can set. Aldo pay attention to the things you can do that you couldn't. Sometimes the scale doesn't move even when your body does. Do your pants fit better? Can you get up the stairs without being out of breath? Were you able to get to a higher incline? We tend to get down on ourselves when the scale doesn't move, but if you are putting in the work you body is still moving. This doesn't need to be a set goal, just the things you notice that are changing for the good in your body.
    My NSV for this week: last night I carried a large, full, laundry basket up stairs without having to stop at the top to breathe.

    Hello all - I just read through all 6 pages and I love the positivity in this group!

    I am really late but I would love to join. My kiddos just went back to school today, and all coworkers are back from vacation, so my schedule is back to normal!! I am so glad to get back to a routine.

    About me: Growing up, I was the skinny kid with knobby knees. I could eat anything I wanted and didn't gain a pound. That was until I graduated high school. I gained about 15lbs each year in college, 80lbs with my 1st pregnancy, 40lbs with my fertifility treatments, and another 40lbs with my 2nd pregnancy. I lost and gained the same 60lbs for 10yrs, and last year I hit my heaviest ever at 255lbs on vacation. I was at Disneyworld in July 2019, and I was heavier than I was the day that I gave birth to my 7yr old. I felt awful. My husband is an athlete, he is lean and muscular, so it's hard to keep up with him on his bike rides, kayaking, and hikes. I was overweight (about 160) when we met, but each year I just kept gaining. I would love to weigh less than him some day and be able to keep up with him on his crazy long bike rides. I am turning 40 soon, and I feel like I need to get down to a healthy weight now before my body goes out on me. My mother is diabetic. My grandmother died at 72 from diabetes. That should be enough to make me commit to a healthier lifestyle, but I haven't. Luckily, I've only gained 7lbs since Halloween, which was the last time I counted calories and carbs.

    hi. i started a thing. not because i think i will be good at it, but because i think we could all use a group, other than a single message board to share our truths and journeys. I am just seeing how fast this is kicking off and hoping we can work together to help each other no matter what happens this tear.

  • I was 126 once upon a time. After having my first child in 1993, I weighed over 200 and stayed over 200 pounds until 2014. With medical issues which came about this past summer, my inactivity has brought me from 184 to 201 pounds. I had vowed never to hit the 200 mark again, so I'm starting out this new year with some newfound weight loss goals. I would love to get down to 150, if possible. I've never had a support system, so I'd like to give this group a try. Both of my children are grown. It's just me and my husband and my beloved dog.

    Hi all, I'd like to join you. Feel free to friend me or offer tips! I'm retired, 66 yo, 264.8 pounds. Two grown sons, both living out of the area. I enjoy reading, quilting, counted cross stitch and traveling. Started going to the gym in November. Only went 1 day a week for two months. Starting the year out with 3 days a week hoping to see some difference by son's September wedding. Encouragement goes a long way - we CAN do this!

    This is a message board - not technically a group but it seems to work really well this way. I created a group called "Over 200lbs and looking to lose" just in case people wanted a group setting. I tried clicking the link here but I didn't find anything.

    Hi! Would love to join this group if it's still open. I'm also well into the 200s but I haven't always been. I bounce between 245-222. I have always been alittle overweight but not by too much, until I got older and moved out. I love to workout and go to the gym, I just lost motivation for awhile. I'm back on and have started a low carb diet as of last Friday.
