Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: My weight has fluctuated a lot this week from the holidays, plus I have been sick with a cold, but all in all I am happy with my weight. I am still a little under my range, but the trend seems to be moving up some so I guess that is good. I just hope that when it gets to 115 it will stop going up.6 -

Time it took to lose: 9 months
How long in maintenance: 8 months
Maintenance weight range: 48 – 51 kg (106 – 112 lbs)
Average weight recorded from 2018: max 72.5 kg in July, 56 kg in Dec
Average weight 2019 : 49.8 kg – reached goal weight in April, average since then 48.7 kg
January 6th: 49.1 kg (108 lb) trend 48.7 kg
January 13th:

January 27th:
Successes/struggles : I ate out on Tuesday evening, which caused a spike up to 49.3 kg but that went off quickly, back to 48.6 over the weekend thanks to plenty of exercise. I’ll take that as a success.
Another spike this morning – had a carb fest yesterday, bread with lunch, mince pie in the afternoon, cheese and biscuits in the evening.
I’m struggling mentally now. I’m going in to hospital for surgery (Total abdominal hysterectomy) next week, and now that the holidays are over, I have nothing to distract me from thinking about it. I didn’t go to the gym over the weekend – it’s hard to get motivated when I know that it will be months before I can get back to the exercise routines. I also know that my eating patterns will be significantly altered for a few weeks. I have been trying to get my weight up to 49 kg prior to the surgery but doing it in a healthy way with lots of protein to aid recovery and fruit and veg to strengthen my immune system.
I’ll check in next Monday, the surgery is on Tuesday 14th.

I had lost a ton of weight about 10 years ago and maintained for about 4-6 years. I was about 250lbs and got down to 158ish-I lost weight very unhealthy and then changed my eating habits and kicked the smoking habit as well. Now my husband and I eat a mostly vegan diet just for health reasons and to stay in a healthier mindset. I had some personal issues at the end of 2018 and I gained about 50lbs-which felt like it was overnight! So I am back to my 249-250 range and I have a reasonable goal of losing about 70ish lbs in about 35 weeks. I am determined to stick to my goal and to look and feel better. I have used MFP for years but always left and came back. Please feel free to add me and we can continue our journeys together.

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: Success-I feel like I have a reasonable plan, to whereas I did have plans in the past but I didn't stick to them because I felt so restricted and became unhappy and hopeless. I have a long term plan and it makes me feel more comfortable and I know I can do this since I have done do before.
Struggle: Nothing too much just yet, no bad temptations except for when work buddies order out and I really want to but I know it won't help me reach my goal.
I wish nothing but the best for all of you in 2020 and I look forward to hearing about your stories!

Hey Eric; have you considered a LARGER maintenance range? If you go +/- five pounds, that gives you 150-160. Giving yourself +/- four pounds gives you 150-158. I will update my good news tomorrow, but I keep a range of eight pounds; sometimes ten depending who I'm talking to. My goal weight is actually near the bottom of that range, so I give myself more wiggle room on top than below. So far, I've only gone UNDER for a short time back in early October right before my slow, steady increase through late December that I'm finally getting back under control.
You have been maintaining over a year. You know how to do this. You might have to do a tiny deficit for a while if you're bigger than you like, or maybe reset your goal. I almost did that. I think I actually have a set of TWO goal ranges; the ideal small one and the acceptable one. But I am kind of goofy.
I bet that vacation weight comes right off.

There's a whole bunch of great discussion threads of people who are losing for the first or fifth time. You might find you get a lot more support for this part of your journey on those threads. I will be excited to read about you there, and I will be super excited when you get back to your maintenance weight. That will be a GREAT time to come here for support to help avoid gaining again. It's kind of a forever journey.
Good luck, and I look forward to your success!

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: My weight is up quite a bit this week, but I'm pretty sure it's a combination of TOM and water retention from eating out a lot last week (my weight dropped 1.2 lbs from yesterday to today, so I'm thinking that it's finally back on its way down again). New accomplishment is that I was able to do 5 consecutive chin-ups (previously my max has been at 3 for the past month or so), which is motivating me to keep up with my arm workouts to continue to improve. I still haven't been very motivated with my leg workouts for several months though, and that's something that I'm going to try to work on this year.7 -

Hi! My name is Kristen. And I struggle to maintain my weight. I have had great success losing/gaining, but I'm hoping this group helps me be more accountable. I weigh only 1x week on Sundays, so that's when I'll check in. My 2 goals in 2020 are to not let the scale go above 153 and weigh in EVERY Sunday for the WHOLE YEAR. This seems easy to most, but I get lazy and make excuses why I don't need to weigh in and then all of a sudden everything in my closet has shrunk. LOl

No I really Think my range needs to be below 160, I might even prefer 150, not sure yet. If I decide that I'll switch to a deficit for a few months. I'll give it a couple of weeks and then decide. I am consistent in my eating and exercise so i am not all that worried about it.

Success of the week: Looks like I am finally chasing away that slow, steady increase from quarter four 2019. Success of the last three months - even though it was CERTAINLY a consistent gain, my weight trend never got out of my maintenance range, and for that matter my scale weight didn't either. The highest was November 11 one pound under the ceiling of my maintenance range. My scale weight DID get out of my maintenance range two days back in August and three days back in July, but they weren't real as my trending weight hasn't been out of range since late January 2019.
Struggle of the week: Confession time: so far this week, I haven't made time to get to the gym Of course that's just one of the three legs of the stool; weight loss is won in the kitchen, so I've got that one. Nutrition also in the kitchen, and I'm doing ok there. Just need to get the strength work in.
