What is your "Petty" Reason to Lose Weight?

* To feel better about myself after an extremely traumatic experience.
* To stick it to my mother who, during the December holidays, told me "I remember how you used to diet to look pretty and thin when you were 16, I don't know what happened (for you to look like this at 40)." My mother has been on one crash diet or another since I was a small child, but has never been particularly thin or in shape. She used to shove diet mixtures down my throat when I was a child, since the age of around 11 and when I didn't need it. I was a thin child! She has always treated me like I was in competition with her, bringing me either oversized clothing in what she assumed to be my size or passing down clothes that were "too big for her" that she knew wouldn't fit me. She was absolutely delighted when I gained so much weight as an adult.
* To stick it to the supposed 'friend' who turned on me and started posting passive aggresive crap about my appearance on FB.23 -

That's the worst thing. Sorry you had to deal with that!3 -
I moved to Florida and I want to look pretty in sundresses and feel better in a swim suit.16

I want to be hit on again or given the 'eye'. It is not very likely as I turn 50 this year. I know many people find it offensive however I see it as a compliment.17

You're so funny!!! Just keep enjoying the benefits of marriage!!!3 -
Looking good in a bikini, or really whatever I want to wear. Not having to “dress for my body type”7

To not feel like an out of shape old man when i take my daughter swimming in the summer. To make the women turn their heads when i walk into a room. To be an example to my daughter.10

It's nice to feel desirable occasionally, if the 'eyer' is respectful about it. If it helps, know that a person who takes care of himself/herself & has confidence -- regardless of age -- has always turned my head more often than anyone else. One of the sexiest women I ever met was 65, gapped toothed, & with a huge hook of a nose, but wow, the twinkle in her eye & way she carried herself were mesmerizing!10 -

I absolutely agree!!! Intelligence really turns me on along with confidence. I admire from afar because way too shy. Thank God my hubby isn't shy!!!7 -
To be fair my wife has given me that look since I lost weight and she is the only one that really matters but I feel she may be feeling 'obliged' to do it after 25 years. I certainly wouldn't act on anyone else actions but a little validation is always nice
NSV for today - was told that one of my jumpers looked like it was using me as a clothes hanger and didn't fit at all so that can go to the charity shop along with the big pile of suits at home.

Hawaii for 15yr anniversary in March. I own shorts but they don't really fit and i don't want to have to buy more. I also need a new swimsuit, mine is not in good shape due to being stretched out and old. So finding one that i like and fits me will be a challenge, so more options sound great. I have the confidence to wear a swimsuit but it would be nice to think less about how i look in it. No chub rub will wearing either the shorts or the swimsuit.
I would also like to weigh less than my husband8 -
To look good in anything I wear and come on, who doesn't want to be found attractive by others12

My recent kick in the a** was a sort of ambiguous relationship-ish situation maybe ending...? He was a totally nice guy, nothing traumatic or anything (I've been there too) but still gave me that mentality of wanting to get that revenge bod. Why do we do that?!?
Whatever works though! I'm fully back in the zone!10 -
Looks on the beach. 👙7

I'm getting married in September 2021 and want to look beautiful in pictures. I mean, I also want to be healthy and all, but currently the vanity of wedding dresses and pics is that extra jolt of motivation.14

Oh, and I also knit and would like to use less yarn/have it not take as long to make a sweater. 😉18
