I had a good week. I ate well for the most part and did all of my workouts. My VO2 levels and run times are slowly improving, BUT my extracellular H2O levels suddenly jumped, so I'm concerned that I might be doing too much too soon.

My Start is 241lbs my Jan 1 weight (already passed the Jan goal) went easy on Feb because I will be away in Mexico for 12 days and that will definitely derail me a little. Solid end to month one at 16.4 pounds lost (a lot of water weight followed by a couple of weeks of very outside the norm activity...February will be much harder but i have adjusted goals based on my finish this month

It's been a few weeks since I have checked in, because frankly I wasn't seeing any progress and it was frustrating. However, I think it's better to check in and be here regardless of what the scale is doing, so here I am, and I hope to have a better February. I weigh in again this Friday.

CHALLENGE STARTING WEIGHT: 224 (350+ starting weight in 2019, 225 end of 2019).
Jan. 6: 227 - (MFP current low at 223.4 and my normal weigh in Day is Wednesday so i'm adjusting key challenge schedule accordingly.) I just got back from a 2 week vacation and need a week to dump this water weight, I stayed close to calorie counts so actual weight should be 223-225 once thats gone)
Jan. 15: 221.3 - Burned off the water weight and made some positive progress. Not as far as I’d like to have went considering but the holiday weight took longer to recede than I thought it would. I’m going to hold the goals and let it fade. I moved my Feb goal to something I think is attainable when factoring overage from Jan that may need to be caught up.

Feb. 5: 216.5 - I had a really bad tooth infection and was put on fairly strong painkillers as well as antibiotics and had a quickly scheduled procedure in the course of 1 week in the third week of January. It showed up as a crazy amount of water weight but my logging stayed consistent and as hoped it still showed a drop when it all settled. Not sure if that little setback on overall loss makes Feb unattainable now but we’ll see. Regardless I should hit my final goal body fat percentage sometime in my goal timeframe even so!

Jan. 6: OK. Here we go...Fri Jan 3 ~ weighed in @ 171.2 ~ I'm really hoping that this time my "plateau" is finally OVER!! I just have 1or2 questions: Why, oh WHY do cough drops have to have calories?! 💔 And if I cough my head off for a week, does that count as exercise?? 😷😜😂 ...MON JAN 6 ~ 172.6 lbs. I must be holding water or something cuz even tho' I've been sick & not working out very much, I have been VERY CAREFUL about weighing everything I eat. At this point I am *this close* to giving up. 😥

Jan. 20: Fri Jan 17 ~ 171.2 lbs ~ back to where I was, at least! not bad...not great...but not bad! I'll just pick it up from here, I guess! Mon Jan 20 ~ 171.2 lbs !!! 😂 no loss, no gain. no loss, no win. LOL ...not bad after 2 birthday parties AND...a get-together @ my bro's house!! I'm actually kinda proud of myself this morning! 😜
Jan. 27: Fri Jan 24 ~ 169.8 lbs! YESSSS!!!! 😂 ...MON Jan 27 ~ 169.8 lbs *again, same as FRI's update...but as long as I did NOT gain, I'm good with it. And...updating my measurements, I have LOST a total of 3.5" overall since November. I only wish I had measured myself when I first started back in August...but as my BMI has also gone DOWN a grand total of 2.9 since the beginning, I think I can safely say I'm gonna be just fine!! hehehe ........
JUST ONE LAST WEIGH-IN for Jan ~ Fri Jan 31 weighed in @ 168.8 lbs ~ I guess I'll say that I very nearly made my goal here, only .8 lbs above what I aimed for! (This may very well be the BEST I've done yet! 😉)

Feb. 3: 170.4 lbs ~ 😫 ~ This is a no-brainer...traveling out-of-state to visit relatives, eating unfamiliar food late at night with people who don't always weigh/measure (I'm used to no later than 6pm), no chance to work out, no place to put my feet up & now my ankles are swollen again...it all adds up, doesn't it?! 😥 Well...as they say, today is a NEW DAY!!! hehehe... Fri Feb 7 ~ 170.6 lbs ~ ouch! not as bad as I feared, but not as good as I would have hoped, either...When I get home next week I will be sure to be VERY watchful...I need to make that goal by the end of Spring! *wanna get back down to 135 lbs by the end of this journey....* 🙏....

I had achieved my goal last Winter and gone into maintenance. I hope y'all don't mind a maintainer in here as an interloper. When you get to your goal, you'll see that maintenance is still a challenge. I have mostly stayed within my goal range, but have bounced around a bit.

January Actual: By scale, depending which day you look at, I either gained an insignificant 0.2 poounds or lost almost a pound. By average weight, I'm down a little bit. I had a Bagel Disaster a week ago and had a weight spike that I'm finally getting over. Whew. I am optimistic I can stay at my long term goal of 143 with small fluctuations.

February Actual: I got back to my goal by scale today after a couple weeks being over! My average weight got down there for about a week about three weeks ago, but before that had been over since October. I am optimistic I can get it back where I want soon.

Actual Weight loss for the challenge: After the gains in October through November, I'm really happy to be back right near my maintenance weight. I'm there by the one-day scale weight, and should maybe get there by average in a few weeks if not sooner.3 -
