Hi everyone, I'm back, I just find that if I keep track of what I eat, works so much better than not doing it. I just don't realize how much I go over board when I don't. After 41 yrs. of smoking I quit 2 months ago, so onto my next battle, to lose this weight.7

kudos to you nightkit6 for quitting smoking. Hang in there it gets easier after a while and you probably already feel much better

Happy hump day, all! Several of you mentioned hip and knee issues. Consider using some hiking poles when you're out walking. They help me a lot, particularly on the downhill portions on hikes. Many of them are collapsible and light - makes it easy to take them along anytime.4

Please add me. I'm 68, just coming off of 3 spinal surgeries for herniated discs, and I want to lose 20 more pounds (down 38 from 3 years ago).

Hey Julia, first off you don't look 68. Hopefully the surgeries will give you some of your mobility back. Please feel free to add me. I am just getting back to it after surgery to relieve pressure on a nerve core in my neck.

Thank you!
My pain started as Sciatica in my left thigh only. My 1st MRI showed a C5 disc and 4 Lumbar discs. The surgeon did the cervical disc 1st and that one hurt the worst. This was my 1st experience with Oxycodone and I almost became addicted. Every waking moment concerned making sure I didn't run out. Thankfully, I learned from this, and on the next 2 surgeries I weaned myself off quickly.
Doing well now as long as I take some NSAIDS and some prednisone every day.3 -
Hi everyone. I am 61.25 years old and just started using MFP. Am slowly getting use to the app, but am
Logging successfully each day. Have been carrying the same extra 30 lbs or so on and off most of my adult life. Fairly
Active and really like the gym. I had open heart surgery 2 years ago after a heart attack. I am on heavy
Cholesterol statins and other meds that make me blah!
I am starting to have blood sugar problems so have chosen a low carb diet. Would love some support and friendship.
Bev, from beautiful west coast Canada.6 -
Good evening. Glad to see the new joins and returning posts. I'm doing good, keeping busy with exercise, knitting and art class. Busy hands aren't feeding the snack monster still hiding in the back of my mind. Thanks for the hiking pole suggestion @alteredsteve175, you've got me reading reviews and checking videos for poles that could make beach and rocky terrain easier to navigate. Take care all. Om....0

Hi, I am 59 and will be 60 in 4 months (June 27th). However I feel much older haha.. I have lost a large amount of weight my top weight being 256. I am now 165. My goal is to get back to my lowest weight of 160. I need to do this to maintain below my goal at my Tops group (taking off pounds sensibly). After I lost the weight, I was Queen for my chapter. Tiara and everything lol. Yes, it is harder as we get older that is for sure but not impossible. I find eating a bit more protein and fat helps keep the munchies away. Organizing snacks and having them ready to go in the fridge really helps, too. Here is a before and after picture.

So, I turned 60 in December and stopped coloring my hair back in September. I am 39 days into my restarted life of exercise and nutrition. I am in the gym on the treadmill 5 days a week, lifting weight at least 3 days a week and I play tennis about 2 times a week.
So far I have lost 13 pounds and feel so much better. Dry January helped a lot!
You would think that at this age I would be smart enough to not let things slide and end up in a bad place AGAIN! Starting over is never easy.
I have enjoyed reading the posts and look forward to sharing in the journey to a leaner healthier life.6 -
Good morning 60 and uppers scrambled egg in a cup with onion, black olives and cheddar cheese with 2 strips of bacon Yummy. If every day were like today... You'd weigh 219.4 lbs in 5 weeks... I am doing a happy dance being as my all time high was 260

Evenin’ everyone. I had a good day today.a leg session and 40 mins on the bike at the gym. Excellent on food. To add to the bone and joint complaints😈 I was just diagnosed with severe inflammation of the bones in my foot! Hence, the bike. Have a trip to Italy coming up and it had better be cured by then!!!4

Hope you folks have had a great day! I've been sick with allergies the last few days so that's thrown me off, but am now on the mend so was able to get out and take a good walk today. Still futzing around with my food intake and trying to get the macronutrient ratios right, but that will come with time as the menu planning gets sorted out. It's a puzzle getting that figured out, but an interesting one.3

Good morning 60 and uppers Well, I didn't have the results I was hoping for this past week, but I did go down and not up ... I was down 0.6 - total loss for 2020... 5.6
Have a blessed day everyone and stay strong in the fight for a thinner and healthier you9 -
My walk last evening was my longest and least painful. I had 3 spinal surgeries last year, so it has been a slow, painful process. Down 38, 20 to go.11

Happy Valentine's Day everyone
Congrats Siberian2590 - you are doing it! bethe - did you notice the pie graph that is under our daily food log now? That should help some with the macronutrient ratios. I eat low carb and have a time getting enough fiber sometimes. bacpath - Hang in there, you're doing great with exercising even with all the obstacles. You will have a wonderful time in Italy, I'm sure
Shout out to all my friends3 -
Happy Valentine's Day. Hope all of you have been treating yourself sweetly. I'm doing great. My community had a Valentine Brunch today and I made healthy food picks easily and had a great time without eating useless calories. Gym and walking inside since it's gotten cold were my exercises today and yesterday. I love that MFP has added the "delete item from list" to the food tracking page. Some things I've just deleted should never have passed my lips, wasted calories and not filling foods just leave me more hungry. Indulge yourself with good choices. Om….

Only gained 0.2 pound on Valentine's Day, despite the presence, and then absence, of Godiva chocolates! I consider that a success.5

Just found this group and I am in. 64 yrs old, been on this site for years, but keep losing and then gaining it back after life throws hurdles. I have been back logging since first of year, down a few pounds but need the encouragement of a group my age! Been reading all your past posts. Inspiring! Thanks. I am active, walk, hike, ellip and yoga, just started 3 times week weights again. My downfall is night binge eating after stressful work days... happens about once a week, but want to get that down to 0. Appreciate the support. Live in VA4
