That said, I can twerk. It's a combination of control and letting go. Just because you can though, does not mean that you should!
At our meeting tonight, they actually said that the Zumba class we did Tuesday was not a "normal" class. They were going at a fast pace and throwing things in to make it fun for our "kick-off" meeting I guess. Maybe that's why they had some different moves in there that they normally wouldn't? They wanted to reassure us so we wouldn't be intimidated from trying the normal group class I guess. I'm glad they told us that because my legs still hurt and it was 2 days ago!

This was incredibly motivating and fun to see people cheering each other on. Check out all those roses our group got! Would people be up for another short goal challenge? I am happy to track this one if people want. Ideas for another one?

Hey all,
I ended up at work waaaaay too late tonight, but finished another report so I'm happy about that. Honestly I am happy it is almost the weekend. Tomorrow is a pretty light day, so I hope to catch up on more of the little pieces I've set aside to prioritize reports. Have some fun plans with friends over the weekend so that should be nice. Not much else to report-g'night all!
@Snowflake1968 Nice work staying green!
@bookmeister86 I really related to your post about good/bad versions. My struggle is I have the perfect version vs. the f* it all version. I have a really hard time finding balance, so I push too hard and then crash and get behind. All or nothing usually.
@Faebert Nice to see you back! Glad you're feeling better.
@aubyshortcake How did the awkward meeting go? Hopefully better than expected.

@aubyshortcake - Ive had to have those conversations before they can be awkward.
I know there was more but I didn’t take notes and can’t remember.
Today I am definitely NOT in the Green. Ate well avoided Chinese food at lunch when everyone ordered and ate what I brought. Rodger wanted burgers for supper, this is only the second time since December that he’s wanted it when he was wanting and mostly having them 2-3 nights a week. How could I refuse him?
Anyway, tomorrow is another day and I’ll try again.
JFT - Friday Feb 14
2L of water
Log all food
Calories in green

Yesterday was ok. I was rather tired/ slightly hungover (I am increasingly thinking I need to limit weekday alcohol to a VERY small amount as it just affects me more than it used to) but I dragged myself to the gym anyway and ended up with a calorie deficit. Which slightly puts a dent in the massive surplus I had on Wed....
I am going to really struggle to even maintain this week. Already in a surplus and have three eating out occasions still to come (plus tonight's Friday pizza and crisps which are non negotiable). I will just need to cut back outside those occasions (and moderate slightly at those occasions).
Anyway, today is Friday. Happy Friday everyone!
Yesterday's goals:
- Track all food and drink
- Be in the green with a deficit
- Not have unplanned snacks/ binge outside the home
- No alcohol
- Take regular ‘breathe/ reframe’ breaks at work to manage emotions Forgot
- Positive affirmation cards Forgot
- Finish work by 7pm
- Talk to boyfriend in French Forgot
- Gratitude journal Forgot
- Lights off by 11
Today's goals:

- Finish by 6pm

So I stayed home from school yesterday because I didn't feel well. I also took a pregnancy test because my body has just been so strange lately. It came back negative but I decided to call my lady doctor to see what was up. I called at 11:17 and the woman was like, "Can you get here in 10 minutes? We have an 11:30 open." So I threw on clothes and ran out the door. The doctor said that it could be an ovarian cyst. I was given a script for an ultrasound. I made an appt for this afternoon at 1 which means I have to leave school early. To be honest, I have needed an ultrasound of this nature for a couple of years now and I just kept pushing it off. But I'm finally going to get it done. Hopefully, it gives me some answers.
I also told the doctor about the problems Matt and I have had with trying to conceive and she said that at the follow-up appt we would go over fertility options and that she would refer me to the fertility clinic that they work in conjunction with. The only problem with that now is that I don't think my insurance covers infertility treatments anymore. I have to call them and find out. If they don't well have to pay everything out of pocket. Which can get expensive quickly I bet. We'll see.
Anyway, that was my day yesterday. I didn't bother to log my food and made a batch of brownies that I have been craving for like 2 weeks now. I ate a quarter of the pan But I am back on to logging today! I will get another damn rose if it's the last thing I do! Lol. Today is the last day after all!
Okay, onto goals!
JFT, 2-14-19
-February goal
-log all my food
-ultrasound @ 1

-bring lunch/keyboard/charger

@HEGoddard0928 - when I was trying to get pregnant, I read a book called Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It’s the science behind how a woman’s body changes slightly during your cycle each month. It helps you identify your most fertile days. Just throwing it out there in case it helps. Sorry if it’s old news to you. Best of luck. That can be such a heart wrenching process. 💕
JFT FRIDAY:
- Stay green
- Get some exercise
- Dishes
- Laundry
- Start prepping food and clothes for skiing next week
- Music rehearsal this afternoon
- Make heart shaped pizzas for the family
💕💕Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! 💕💕4 -
Well yesterday went ok... stayed under calorie goal and that was the big one.. didn’t knock out valentines stuff as wife called before I got out of work and I opted to head home so we could hang out...we both have been crazy busy & our daughters 13th birthday is Sunday so that has been a bigger thing for us.
I’m off today. Goals for Friday as follow
#zwift ride (not sure when because supposed to have security guy come to house and fix an monitor issue)
# p90
#800 calorie or greater deficit
#vacuum house
#clean kitchen
#pharmacy
#make a nice valentines dinner
#shred mail5 -
Good morning! I went about 60 over yesterday so not in the green but still in a deficit so that's good.
@TerriRichardson112 and everyone, I think we should start another challenge on Monday! Maybe a St. Patrick's challenge? And then after that we could do Easter!
@jeschepp @Snowflake1968 the meeting was..... interesting. She very adamantly denied ever acting in any sort of inappropriate way and was "annoyed" that people were making up stories about her 🤦♀️
Yesterday 2/13:
1. Log all food😁
2. Stay within calorie goal😑 very close
3. Finish work at 5:20😁
4. Do dishes😁
5. Do workout😁
JFT 2/14:
1. Fold laundry
2. Relax6 -

Scale goalsEnd of 2017: 174.6
End of 2018: 189.2
End of 2019: 196.4
Today: 193.0
Ongoing plans/ideas behind the cut1. Purchases: Look for an "ugly Christmas sweater" and a long-haired doll at thrift stores. Practice French braiding. Go to used bookstore and look for On Writing (Stephen King), Dying for a Paycheck (Robin Hardman), The Prince (tr. Tim Parks, Russell Price, or Robert Adams), The Secret Adversary (Christie).
2. E2: What should the controlling ideas be in a study of world literature? Review world lit options. Create vocabulary lists for each unit that come from the texts used: Animal Farm, Julius Caesar, Wes Moore, I Am Malala. Find a way to incorporate changing words from one part of speech to another. Students need to know how to review multiple sources and synthesize information in order to draw a conclusion. Need practice with the difference between transitions and overlapping (at end of paragraph - "another issue is Y" vs "there are other issues besides X"). Quit using "in conclusion" and "I believe" and other writing-about-my-writing phrases. Confusion between direct/indirect objects and prepositional phrases. Use the UDHR and the Declaration of Independence to study paraphrasing; use that to front-load Machiavelli and how to deal with challenging texts. Confusion between everyday / every day and similar constructions.
3. E1: Need practice with quoting & paraphrasing sources, identifying claims that would need support, use of last names for reference, and capitalization practice (common/proper nouns, titles). Difficulty using possessive nouns in their own writing. Honors: practice subject/object pronouns (my friend and I / my friend and me). Poetry: Revise "Songs are Poetry" handouts.
4. Curriculum Development: Writing mini-unit. Review scholarly research on 5PE. (I think I can have this as an intro to the research unit so that they also get exposure to how quotes are integrated and cited.) Parallel structure; use of emotional language, specific detail. Use "Write About a Pebble" lesson from Atwell. How long should each unit take? Do research on characteristics: curiosity, persistence, resilience, creativity, responsibility, optimism, courage, integrity, authenticity, leadership, self-awareness, humility, compassion - others? Include grammarly check on essays! Review assessments. What is the purpose for each unit? What should the controlling ideas be in a study of world literature? Review world lit options. Schedule assessments for Fall 2019; plan out return times. Write 1 reflection weekly; type one in Classroom by Weds. Copy-paste to discussion board for comments due Friday. PB usernames 6 digits, no 19 or 20s, no birthdates. Homework: Online journal Mon due Tue; Reflection Tue due Wed; C&P journal in class Wed; Comments Thu due Fri. Bonus if you are the first response; further bonus if you respond to comments on your post. Grammar practice Mon & Wed; quiz Fri.
5. Professional Development: Write blog post weekly. Comment on 3 posts each week -Tu Th Sun? Check with PSC. Talk with Z about articles and/or conference proposals. NOTE: ATTENDED PRE FLEX DAY.
6. Medical: Dentist Apr 30 8 AM but check on meetings and RS. Onco Apr ???. PCP Schedule for July. ObG schedule for October. PCP - allergy shots?
7. Theater: 1984.
8. House: Crawl space repairs. After that - siding? Or perhaps bathroom floor.
9. Fun: Open beading on Thursdays. Coloring at library on Tuesday. Put jewelry away. Edney Hack Nights alt Weds. ASL? Spanish/Portuguese practice? Practice piano. ROL Secret Adversary. Buy new bikes and bike rack for car.
10. Volunteering ideas: Theater. Library. Animal shelter. Community Kitchen. Emerge Georgia training.
11. Family: Find cousin photos.
WFTY: Progress. And I hecked up in my note on the door and put the wrong room. Jeez! it looks like everything else went ok.5 -

Happy Friday! Happy Valentine's Day! Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
My valentine of 42 years is on a golf course somewhere in FL with his dad today, so I'll be spending part of my day up here in NJ with two of my little loves and my mom. Tonight I'll pour myself a glass of wine and break out one of my decadent chocolate bars before picking up the phone for a cozy conversation across the miles. It's funny how happy this makes me now. (I confess to pouting - a lot - about DH's February golf trips in the past.) Perspective, I guess.
Yesterday was another mixed bag, but I'll have plenty of time this wekend to catch up on chores while my husband is away. Lately, I've found it easier to stick to my calorie and exercise goals than to keep up with my work and household chores. Not sure why I'm struggling so much with motivation. Maybe it's a bit of the winter blues. I'm hoping to fnd more balance in the coming weeks so I can relax when I visit my son over spring break in March.
Goals for Thursday, February 13, 2020
• Complete food log and maintain a calorie deficit - √
• Gym - √
• Household chores 30+ min – X – Wound up going out to lunch and walked indoors with my daughter, then spent an hour on the phone with my sister before dinner
• Grading/email/LMS updates –25% - Had to take care of some payroll issues, so didn’t get much else done
• Online course HW (Discussion 2) – X – Didn’t finish the reading
JFT Goals for Friday, February 14, 2020
• Rest day
• Aim for maintenance calories and log everything as well as I can
• Whatever I can get done before noon
• Valentines for the boys
• Visit my mom this afternoon

Hi Everyone I am looking for a motivated group ( fun) to join. I am a retired, mom and grandmother. I have 20+ pounds to lose but most important .. I need to get up and get active. I am slowing down and the weight has just creeped up little by little that my clothes aren’t fitting comfortably anymore.
Happy Valentines Day! 💝

Recap R 2/13 ~ Only couple inches of fluffy snow, strong winds blowing it around, and feels like temp below 0F (-17C) so hubby & I both skipped the shoveling.

4) Complete testing for BC-CC (so close) finally! / contact Asst. Controller for add'l info / draft APG no time
5) Evening: bake salmon & veg / choir 6:30 / Sweaty Betty workout? no energy / prep cards for hubby / meal plan & grocery list / other? nope
JFT F 2/14
1) Walked treadmill before work 3.12 mi 1:01 & stretched = happy me!
2) Move hourly / stairs breaks / 5 somethings
3) Meals (leftovers) & snacks prelogged / net calories green / 14c water
4) Organize BC-CC workpapers / review docs/info provided by Asst. Controller / draft APG / usual weekly status reports (bah) / reduce inbox

Valentine Day Challenge net calories green = 5X (3,4,5,6,13) NO roses Fri. 7 or Sat. 8 or Sun. 9 or Mon. 10 (logging error) or Tues. 11 (uncontrolled evening snacking) or Wed. 12 (happy hour & totally guesstimated evening)

WFTY: DEPTH
Depth Year - UpdatesI definitely have way too much stuff. I need to streamline my existence, resist adding more stuff, and start using what I have already got. I have been working towards doing this for several years with my decluttering. I need to stop the march of consumerism, and putting money into the pockets of other people by buying things I want rather than actually need.Daily Goals
03 Jan: This is going to be way harder than I thought. Need to work out strategies and guidelines for what I can and cannot purchase.- I have a stack of books which I haven't read. I will read one of those book a month, and not buy any more books this year. I will source any other books I want to read at the library.
- Book 1: The Illusionists - Rosie Thomas ✅
- Book 2: Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine, Gail Honeyman✅
- Book 3: Nothern Lights Ch 8
- I have closets full of clothes that no longer fit. I will work my way through them over the next two months, and either alter them to fit, or donate them to charity.
- 07 Jan: One bag already full and ready to go to the charity shop
- I have a lot of Craft supplies. I will optimise what I have before I buy any new supplies. Sticking to this one will be difficult.
- 07 Jan: Depth Year: I have Patchwork Craft this morning. I will pick out one of my ongoing projects and work on it to completion. No new projects until I have finished at least 3 ongoing ones.
- 14 Jan: Craft Group: working on patchwork project from last Tues.
- Food: log All food and drink; stay under goal; balance macros/micros; Hydrate adequately; NLNS!!!
- Exercise: Knee Physio; 7,500+ Steps daily; 30 + minutes intentional exercise

@maryrobinson40 prayers to all in NC & in harm’s way everywhere.
Finally started logging again after a rough 1 1/2 weeks. Added hydration back in today. Staved off headaches until 3 today. With my job having started I’m up at 5 am, 4:30 when anxiety gets me up early. I love the new job but still have to adjust my body to waking up two hours earlier than it’s used to.
Intentions for today—
Breathing, present-mindedness, gratitude for Every.Little.Thing.6 -
And Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!4

Happy Friday my tribe!
I was actually able to leave work early for once! There were certainly things I "could" have stayed and done, but there is always more to do and I've stayed late plenty of nights recently. I finished the most urgent tasks and vamoosed. I was able to finish my taxes at home and was happy to find I'm getting a nice chunk back. It will be nice to have a little cushion. Happy weekend all!
@HEGoddard0928 That would make me anxious too. Here's hoping you get some helpful news soon.

I give myself a big fat F for yesterday’s grade. Totally went off the rails... went way over caloric goals. Think it started off w bourbon while vacuuming but turns out my real gate way drug is fresh cooked bread... multiple other reasons yesterday just needs to be deleted but I’ll just stop here.
Gonna try to put yesterday behind me and start fresh today
