Family/Medical Goals -- Husband -- Never-ending stream of medical appointments + projects with 2 or 3 different organisations. And me! A goal is to get me into healthy shape again!
** March is shaping up to be "medical month" ... just got to get through it all one day at a time. And March is the 2nd anniversary of the accident that changed our lives. **

First up is a dental appointment on Tuesday. Thank goodness because the rest of my filling came out today, and evidently I swallowed it. Plus there's another whole section of the tooth which looks set to go ... the tooth does not look healthy. However, because the rest of the filling came out, that tooth is now sensitive to cold and hot and eating on that side etc. so I'm glad the dental appointment isn't too far away.
I could use another day like today. Today I worked my way through a number of little things ... bills that needed paying, some of my laundry, a few things I needed to deal with in my cycling club, etc. etc. I made some headway but unfortunately I'm not done yet ... that's where another day would come in. But I need to go to work tomorrow and this coming week is going to be busy. Still I'm glad I got done what I did.
I also got in a decent run on my treadmill which was nice.

Welcome March.
Can everyone feel spring is right around the corner? It is the time for renewal and growth. I sure miss seeing the crocuses, daffodils, and other signs of warmer days to come.
Barbie – Many thanks to you for keeping us together and starting the March thread. Your motivational posts are thoroughly appreciated.
Barbara – Happiest of birthdays to you!
Margaret – Thank you for the idea of the lemon essential oil mix. I also am concerned about the economy and the amount of panic the media is creating. This is not the first outbreak, nor will it be the last. It seems the creation of panic is the new norm. It saddens me.
Allie – Sending positive thoughts. There is something out there for you. And, maybe it is not in a dental office so do not limit yourself.
Karen – I have been checking the CDC site. It contains world maps and a lot of updates. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/summary.html I will be gleaning this coming Saturday. I am not sure what we will be picking. Peppers and tomatoes are still in season. The work restructuring is not for sissies. I was on a call Thursday where a corporate VP actually said, “This will come together and we take over more departments.”. Talk about sensitivity! I know I picked the losing side when I did not accept the offer to supervise the catalog admin team (I would be reporting to the corporate folks), but I am glad I made that decision. I enjoy my job and am fortunate the division will keep me as long as they are able to do so. With things progressing the way they are I am not sure if the promotion will actually go through – we shall see. I am still hopeful and do feel the title will benefit me in the future when I have to hit the pavement and start a job search. My current plan is to stick with it until the end of the year so I can clean up my finances. I am currently updating my resume and starting to regularly log in to LinkedIn so I can start working on my network.
Katla – Sounds like a perfect me day. Cozying up with a good read. I had forgotten about the mothball trick – thank you for the reminder. Believe it or not when I had a nail fungus 100 years ago the podiatrist told me to put my shoes in a closed plastic bag with mothballs for a week to ten days to kill the fungus. My shoes did not smell great until the smell dissipated but it did save me a ton of money.
RV Rita – Good to see you are doing well and keeping busy.
Rebecca – Sorry to hear you are not feeling well.
February Wrap Up – I am 3.4 pounds lighter and should hit my initial goal of 40 pounds down this month. I averaged a little more than 6,000 steps per day so I hit goal there. Personal to-do list isn’t progressing as planned.
March Goals – Keep on keeping on. Hit initial weight-loss goal, average 6,000 steps per day, attempt to make half of those steps healthy ones (100 steps+ per minute), complete three to-do items on the list.
Hugs to all and prayers for those in need.

Question ... I generally do not take vitamin supplements, but am interested in magnesium citrate as recommending by the intermittent fasting community for a variety of reasons (sleep, gut health, depression). I have no idea what brand of vitamins to use. What should I be looking for to guarantee as best I can that I'm actually getting the vitamin I desire?

Barbara Happy 70th birthday! Wishing you a year of good health and good times.
Barbie, thanks for the March thread.
A new month and what will it bring?... February flew by with so much happening. Legal finally was signed on February 27 and is over. My sister started her radiation daily Monday thru Friday, with a chemo infusion on thursdays. We had good times together while I visited with her and her husband as we got treatment schedules set up. Cheri is determined to enjoy each day as much as possible. She is an inspiration to me.
Goals for March are to log all food and meditate daily. I love the longer days and swear I can feel spring in the air.

I'm happy to see so many familiar faces and so much enthusiasm for the beginning of a new month.
Betsy, Congrats on the completion of your legal hassles. I live near you and agree that spring is in the air. More daylight has added a new dimension to dog walking and a springy feel to the air has sent me outside for a brief weed pulling session in the afternoons.
Barbara, Happy Birthday.
My plans for today include getting out the dreaded vacuum and dealing with the dog and cat hair and stuff on the carpet.

Thanks Barbie for bringing us into March! I can not remember my word of the year! lol It is most likely something like "Focus", because it does feel like I am lacking in that area. Since the new year, I have felt increasingly "scattered". We haven't had much of a winter, so it feels like the busyness of spring is beginning and I haven't had my season of quiet and rest. That ball of work, family, change...just keeps rolling and I am running on top, trying to both keep moving forward and keep my balance.
Karen VA- lol Miguel is about 4 1/2 months old; so yep a few weeks before he will be six months. I am happy to say, that I snagged a couple of really cheap flight tickets to DFW out of Chicago. SO...I will be visiting the boys for Joaquin's third birthday weekend! Yea! My DYS, Colin, is going with me. Here are a couple of the latest pics of Joaquin and Miguel. In the side by side shot: Joaquin on the left, Miguel on the right (both pics taken at 3 months)

Amber: Good news that your cousin gave you an old fashioned pot steamer. We have one that has been in use for many, many years and recently bought a new one. They are so useful!
Barbara Happy 70th Birthday!!! :flowerforyou:
We have a foggy morning so far. It feels cozy to be warm inside! Today was bonde density day for me. I’ve had my med and sat upright for half an hour. NOW I can finally have a cup of coffee!

We have had a warm winter and the daffodils and hyacinths in our front garden are beautiful. Most bushes are showing green shoots. Unfortunately the awful storms have kept most of us indoors a lot and only today has it been sunny for long enough to appreciate that spring is really here. I walked up to the supermarket today for the first time in ages. My thoughts are with those who have been flooded out of their homes.
My worst vice is procrastination. I have been the same all my life. I still have a school report with "Heather should not procrastinate so much " in the summary. Today I am procrastinating by reading a book about how to conquer it. I am much, much better than I used to be, but could still do with improvement. My writing is the main thing that gets procrastinated upon. So far the book is well written and may be helpful.
Tonight is tandoori chicken with roasted cauliflower and raita. Yum!

Barbara-Happy birthday. Well we are in March already, that's 1/4 of the year. Am currently walking every day possible as I entered the St. Patrick's 5k/1k walk/run on the 14th. First time ever so I'm only going for the 1k. Can never run again as I have compression fractures of my spine so walking is ok with me. Well, 15 lbs. off and 35 to go. That puts me at 140. I weighed 120 until the late 80's. Next week is daylight savings time too. Hope everyone has a great week. Take care.

Hello, My name is Pat and I am 76 years old, retired RN (not so much lately, husband has Parkinson's) and am determined that I outlive him so I can take care of him. I am a weaver who spins wool. I crochet, knit, tat, sew, all sorts of hand crafts that let me also be close by all day. That restricts me pretty much to the house and yard but I am also a bird-watcher and that helps a lot. I won't bore you with drudgery and I am happy to find a group that can be supportive and caring. Pat, near Chattanooga, Tennessee at the foot of Lookout Mountain.12

Barbara - Happy Birthday!
March goals-
1. I joined the UAC that some of you ladies have been talking about. Hopefully it will help me with more regular logging of my meals and getting my workouts in. Being accountable to just myself wasn't working.
2. Make doctor's appointments - one for my yearly physical and one to try to find out what's up with my knee.
3. I need to be better about meal planning/prepping. It's so much easier to make dinner after a stressful day at work if I already have it planned out and ready to go.
If I can make those 3 things work this month, I'll be a happy camper .

I need to cook more special meals for myself. The Silcilian shrimp, roasted heirloom red potatoes and sauteed zucchini were delicious.
