03/09 | 133.0kg | No change | Relaxing weekend with the family. My little one started walking a few steps at a time this weekend so that's super exciting! He's 15 months so a little behind with it, but he's a big boy at 31.5 inches tall (half my height already!) and around 30lbs so I'm not surprised as he had more weight to lift and a higher centre of gravity to work with! We've known for a long time that he can do it, he just lacked the confidence so we've been working with him to build that up. So sweet to see his little face light up when he realised he was doing it himself!
03/10 | 133.0kg | No change | Actually tracked my calories yesterday and wound up under target! Drank 2L of water, should have been more though. Ate a very later dinner as we had a couple of parcels for our neighbour so he popped over to collect them and stayed for ~3 hours - he didn't leave until after 11pm and we still hadn't had dinner! So it was a quick bit of cheese & vegemite on toast for me, then off to bed around midnight which is going to make today hard due to a short sleep and unsatisfying dinner (it's 8am and I'm already ravenous). Will drink a lot of water today and get some exercise in since my planned ride on the stationary bike also didn't happen last night. On the bright side, I only ate half as much toast as I 'normally' would have at night (small victory, but also probably why I'm so hungry this morning). Onward & upward.

Calories would have been a lot better if I had jumped on the bike while waiting for dinner to cook instead of eating a snack...
My little one has developed a cold (I think) so hoping I don't get that now too. Poor little guy, it's affecting his sleep so badly. We put the vapouriser on in his room last night and I think that helped.

General goal is to maintain below 150, and trend slowly downward to 145.
The downward trend is a bit slow for my liking, but at least it's is still downward.
Looking forward:
- March: I need to focus on getting back to where I was pre-Christmas
- 2020: Goal is to stabilise weight around 145
- Strengthen strategies to reframe the tendency to use unhealthy snack food as a reward/treat.
- Make sure I have prepared healthy snacks available
- Cut down on eating between meals
Back Story:2018:2020
My goal was to get down below 160, to allow me to enjoy the indulgences of holidays and celebrations.
2019:
I exceeded that and have been below 150 for most of the last 2 months.
In 2018, I put on 10 lbs over the last 2 months of the year.
In 2019, I consistently lost weight since the end of July. I put on about 4lbs over the Christmas break, but was still below my original 2019 goal.
That's a WIN in my book!
Focus: maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Goals
I've been taking stock over the weekend and realized that I've been sick quite a bit since December so I'll be going on maintenance for a few rounds, maybe until Easter. I'll concentrate more on health: eating a balanced diet, drinking 2l water, lots of sleep and being active. My aim this round is around 1500 cal and to stay between 150 & 155 lbs. I'll probably have to adapt calorie intake over the round

I've been faithfully working out, eating Keto (slightly lower fat/sodium/cholesterol keto as per a dr) and even watching calories and I seem to be well within range to lose 1.5 lbs per week but it hasn't been budging. Had a weigh in at my metabolic dr yesterday and hes concerned I had stalled for awhile. Has started talking about meds (which I would like to avoid if possible). We agreed to give it a month and see where things are going. Thing is that my diet and workouts have been on point for 2/3 weeks and I was hoping to start seeing movement (it usually takes that long for me). So I *think* its begun and I really really want to stick with it this time.

New to MFP. Trying to lose weight, not for looks, for health. I'm 60, type 2 diabetic, High blood pressure, some signs of fatty liver. I simply have to get this weight off and eat more healthy. Looking at my 92 year old mother's health issues, I want to prevent some of that in my life. Aiming for 1 pound per week. Last year I dropped about 1 pound per 3 weeks. I indulged a bit yesterday. Iβd been craving chocolate cake for more than a week, so I baked a single-layer double chocolate cake and glazed it with dark chocolate. Itβs so rich, a tiny bit did the trick! I took half to my neighbor and thereβs a piece left for DH. And Iβm satisfied!

Goals
I've been taking stock over the weekend and realized that I've been sick quite a bit since December so I'll be going on maintenance for a few rounds, maybe until Easter. I'll concentrate more on health: eating a balanced diet, drinking 2l water, lots of sleep and being active. My aim this round is around 1500 cal and to stay between 150 & 155 lbs. I'll probably have to adapt calorie intake over the round

03/11 - 152.4 nice dinner but ate late in the evening, I find I really don't sleep as well when I eat late. Today is another busy day training everyone with the new videoconferencing platform. Good thing is that the weather is looking to get better at last, I'm hoping it stays that way so that I can start cycling again

03/08: 180.4 (Yesterday was such a busy day! I made some banana bread in the morning when I woke up, my hubby and I went grocery shopping, I bought a brand new beautiful couch with electrical recliners and a dining table with chairs, we went to Best Buy to buy the Nintendo Switch, we took my father in law out to dinner since he officially moved to Florida this morning. Very very busy. Today marks the first time my hubby and I will be alone without family. Everyone moved to Florida in the past 6 months and my hubby and I have decided that LA is our home. Itβll be a weird change but a good one.)

03/09. 160.2 lbs. 1500 calories. 11,000 steps. Still no mri results would like to know about my back before I go off pills and can start working out.
03/10 160.6 lbs 1375 calories 3500 steps. Back and stomach are still a mess, finished grandson's quilt and started pillowcases instead of walking due to issues. So tired of not feeling well, I am sure you are tired of hearing about it. Ugh!
03/11 160.8 lbs 1075 calories, 15,600 steps MRI showed Moderate neural foraminal narrowing ( narrowing where the nerve comes out through the spine down your legs), some circumferential disc bulging and moderate degenerative endplate change ( DDD or osteoarthritis) in L3-L4, L4-L5, L5-S1, Doctor said to stay on pills even though they mess up my stomach and come back for PT. I am going to have to take a short break from pills and get my stomach better, it's not sustainable this way currently and now that I know exactly whats wrong I can do PT exercises for that without going to PT twice a week, it's 90 miles of driving each time.
03/12 161.0 lbs 1413 calories, 18,500 steps Back exercises. Went out with friends for supper and this is beer bloat. Off pills, stomach better and back holding its own.

03/09 β 126.0 β Still bouncing around, a little higher than I would like to be but I am where I am because of my choices. It has been so hard to find the motivation and discipline lately, and from the comments it seems like several of us are there.
03/10 β 127.2 β Not sure if my scale is off or if I am really bouncing around this much lately. I know some of it is ovulation bloat, sodium, bad choices, but there has been a lot of bounce up and down. Got my lunch with me today, so working on avoiding the temptations and getting back on track.
