Some drive by thoughts:
@bluffgirl67 I'm so sorry to hear this. I'm still here crossing my fingers for the best possible outcome.
@Tarzan37 I'm keeping you and your sister in my thoughts, as well.
@Terytha upping the (((hugs))). I'm sorry things are so rough right now. I can only hope they get better for you as quickly as they can.
@lbostic89 that story about the formula just makes me so mad.
@brownsugar174 I've been wanting to try that latte! And those shorts are wonderful, and I love hearing about your bike riding adventures.
Everyone in my house has a cold right now, which means baby's still not sleeping, which sucks.
I left my food scale at work on Friday, so this weekend I know I took in more than I logged, but nothing too crazy. I shouldn't see any real gains, even if I didn't lose. I'm bringing my scale home with me today, and hopefully my new scale comes in tonight (and some bluetooth headphones of my own, so I can stop borrowing Whatsisface's for my runs!). I got whole boxes of my favorite protein bars this weekend, so I've got like... 60 protein bars at home, lol.
Favorites, you ask? Quest blueberry muffin, Quest white chocolate raspberry, ONE maple glazed donut, ONE almond bliss, and ONE birthday cake. I wanted to get peanut butter chocolate cake, too, but they were out.
Today I'm going to shoot for lifting weights after work. May or may not happen, but I'm going to try. And I think I'm going to relax our normal no-TV-on-school-nights rule for everyone so that Whatsisface and I can do some blanket fort-ing in the form of binging The Office.
Have a good Monday, everyone. I'm in the background, clicking your buttons.7 -
Happy Monday❣️ Hope everyone is well.

Going to work today. Plan to get a walk in daily. I’ll be cooking while I try to cope with our school districts COVID-19 crisis. Will work not to fall into old habits like stress eating.
Everyone have a great day. Don’t forget to wash your hands frequently. #FlattenTheCurveCOVID19‼️9 -
My anxiety level is through the roof right now. Had to take an Excedrin pm finally at 11:30 last night to get to sleep. Slept about six hours. I need to sleep well to be able to stay as healthy as possible. I have a feeling my work may shut down soon. I think restaurants and bars will shut down here soon to follow suit with other states, which I am in favor of right now. The news out of Italy is scary today.
Guess I'll get to work early today since I'm up already. I feel like work is keeping me sane right now.10 -
We've declared a state of emergency in our city after the number of infectees doubled yesterday.
Every city institution like schools and libraries are closed. Every other business is required to allow only 50% of their capacity or less than 250.
I have a work meeting at 8:30 this morning. It's all pretty scary.11 -
Hugs to everyone, times are hard right now. In light of everything, I’ve decided to cancel my kickboxing membership for the time being. I’ll be honest, I am sad about it, but my health and the others I could put at risk are far more important. Plus, I have the capability to workout at home. Hopefully once the world is okay again, I can rejoin, but for now, I have to put it in the backseat.
I did have a little breakdown last night worried that’d I’d somehow gain all the weight back if I stopped, but I know it’s up to me and the choices I make. Stay safe everyone!10 -

Hi everyone, can't keep track of everything but i know some of you could do with a virtual hug and others a virtual high five, so help yourself to whichever suits!!
I lost a bit of weight today, down to a number i haven't seen in 5 or 10 years, i think partly because i didn't eat much yesterday, but the trend is going in the right direction.
Stay strong and stay safe everyone xx8 -
Hey everyone. I am so sorry to those feeling anxious and affected by changes in their communities. I think I've finally reached a point where my anxiety is lessened a bit. What I have noticed is that different people seem to have different levels of hysteria about the whole thing. Some people are not leaving their house until 2021 and hoarding toliet paper. Some people are totally unconcerned and going out drinking in bars (while they still can) and capitalizing on low airfares to plan exotic vacations. I think I personally fall somewhere in the middle but it seems like my mental state vacillates a bit depending on the day. One thing is for sure- stress doesn't do much for health.
I've found that reading copious amounts of news and social media seems to exacerbate anxiety for me. I have decided to remove Facebook from my phone and limit my news reading to once a day, in the morning, and to the sites that I trust for reliable and fact-based reporting. I'm also going to start doing yoga once a day, again.
I also have been trying to look on the bright side. I am actually really excited to get more time with my kids! And spend more time outside!
Telecommuting and watching my children at the same time is honestly not that fun, though. I am trying to keep them on a schedule and such but it's hard while working and I find myself getting frustrated with them. I wish that we all could just have a month off, paid. But I do feel very lucky to have a job that can be done remotely and that is in a sector unlikely to be immediately harmed by the economic downturn. I am really concerned about those people whose jobs are more vulnerable. A good friend of mine is a content editor for an online retailer, and she got notice on Friday to stop working immediately while they reassessed. She is a contracted employee so especially vulnerable.
Today my goal is to not stress eat. I have a tendency to eat more than usual when I work from home. I think it's because when I go to work, I pack all my food and there is a finite amount available. When I work from home, I have ready access to the kitchen.
Another goal for today is to get a run in. It will probably be on my treadmill unless I can talk my kids into running with me. I'll work on the latter since it is a nice sunny day.7 -
I'm glad at this point that I have my dad's tendency to get "One for the shelf and one for the pantry" in a regular way, because for two weeks we're good on most everything. Which is good because my period's here and I'm going to be rolled up in a ball of cramping for the next four days. Sooo... social distancing happens anyway about now.
(This also explains why I was SO HUNGRY last night. TTOM usually does it for me. And now of course I hurt too much to want to eat.)6 -

I haven't checked in for quite some time, but I have been reading! My schedule has been so crazy that I don't get a lot of time to respond to everyone. Im up at 5:30AM and don't get home till after 7PM 🙄.
I struggled for 2 months to work up the courage to leave the cardio grind and head to the weight section of my gym. 2 weeks ago I was finally able to wonder over there and do a few exercises. My goal was to just get comfortable in the space and using the equipment. But now, I am going to the gym 5 days a week and feeling the soreness of my changing body. 3 days are weight lifting and 2 days are cardio (I walk for an hour at an incline to get my heart rate up, but Id like to try 30 min HIIT workouts soon). Im finding that I really enjoy going to the gym! Its a weird feeling since I have always hatted the idea of leaving the house to go workout among other people.
I am still food prepping meals and planing on going to the gym during this crazy time. My health needs to be a priority. I know that if I make excuses, it will be so hard to get back into it again. I am the worst at procrastination and excuses. I am of course washing constantly and being careful, but I need to try and keep a sense of routine if I want to be successful. I need to hit my goals!9 -
Hi Ladies,
Today I'm starting my 30 day challenge!
SW 230 lb
Trying intermittent fasting 16/8
And doing Leslie Sansone's walking on utube (which I enjoy)
I've been suffering from plantar fasciitis for 18 months, I walked at a parkrun a couple of weeks ago and was in agony after for about a week. Finally took a course of ibuprofen and its helped so have been able to start indoor walking plan again. I'm turning 50 next June and just don't want to be carrying all this weight around anymore! I'm a single mum with a 16 year old son and want him to be proud of me!!9 -
Ended up on an emergency trip to take care of my mom and gained 10 pounds. UGH I was doing so good before this 2 weeks of chaos. I hope I can back on track. Hoping to figure out ways to stop emotionally eating when there.8

@ aliciap0116 hope you feel better soon
@Tarzan sorry about the bad neighbors. Sounds like it would be a good idea to make sure you have as much social distancing as possible from them. That is the thing about this. By keeping yourself safe you are keeping others safe and vice versa
@mmdeveau yes our decision about the gym was decided for us too. I had just read about how to make a good decision. The pool is safer if you can negotiate the locker room ok.
@CupcakeCrusoe I hope everyone in your house feels better soon.
@pamiede that is exciting to have lost during vacation! Good job! Nice outfit.
@Terytha yes scary
@torihudson6 I am so sorry about the kick boxing and it got me thinking about doing the same for the Y.
@BrownSugar174 Glad your gym is being responsible. I read a lot. I read 83 books last year. Good book, enjoy. I like legal mysteries.
@orangequilt happy that your weight is down to where you haven’t seen in so long. I am now at last October which was a low I hadn’t seen in quite a while but I hope to see soon more progress.
@shorepine good approach to dealing with these times. Today was my 1st day at home so I was curious about how it would go with having more food around and being home.
@AlexandraFindsHerself hope you are feeling better soon.
@shalane I remember when I was too busy to check in here as much as I wanted.
@changeforeverlj I like the idea the idea of Leslie Sansone youTube since my gym is closed.
@MyBeth1 It is so hard taking care of a parent. I am sorry about your Mom’s emergency. Hope all is better.
Well today was my 1st day working at home. I had a healthier breakfast than usual since we made a pot of our wonderful house blend. I spent some time setting things up (my husband set up a bigger screen for my lap top and helped me find a file crate), got through email. One of my coworkers younger than me said it was very quiet in the office. I made my tea and drank water all day. Had left over vegetable soup I made this weekend for lunch. Got the big Monday task done and took my afternoon break. It was late about an hour before "closing". Then on my way back to my computer I see a text from work. We have a storm line but they use it for other emergency type news or road closures. It said my work was shutting down. I got on my work email and we are shut down until the 31st. We will be paid until then but no promises afterwords. I was asking my husband what he thought about going to aquafit. He said the Y was closed. I was going to go for a walk if we didn't go to the Y but I need to have time to think through things. I am not surprised since I heard some talk about the possibility.
He told me when he stopped working (2 hours late) that where he work is only open for essential services and only employees can get in the building otherwise. Most were working from home anyway.
I think my calories were down for the day but again little exercise. I will figure out what to do at home tomorrow. I need to do some thinking (and praying) tonight and I plan to sleep in tomorrow morning then start my inforced vacation. I was making plans for working at home not for this so time to rethink.5 -
@Tarzan sorry about the bad neighbors. Sounds like it would be a good idea to make sure you have as much social distancing as possible from them. That is the thing about this. By keeping yourself safe you are keeping others safe and vice versa
For sure. They have the attitude that they will party every weekend and it is their life and no one can tell them what to do. Luckily they have closed the bars and restaurants here as of this evening. Which will probably mean they just party next-door or at a friend's house. Super.
Well, my work place shut down this afternoon. We do not know when it will reopen. We will be paid through the end of this week, so no need to work from home. On Monday we can either go to work every fourth day or work from home, or work outside more if we'd like. We'll see how those guidelines change going forward. I made a pretty good to-do list in my head as I was walking my pup for over an hour this afternoon. Things like cleaning the basement and organizing it, getting things together for Goodwill, reading the new book I just started recently, etc. I will look at the next 6 days as a staycation and try to also get good sleep, drink plenty of water, and take Emergen-C daily.
Oh, and today is my birthday. Definitely a memorable one. I'm just praying we all stay safe and healthy - all of us - in the days and weeks to come!8 -
@Tarzan37 Happy birthday!!!
@bluffgirl67 I’m so sorry to hear about your mum. Sending lots of love and strength your way.
To everyone else, I’m sorry to hear about how everyone is facing/dealing with the COVID pandemic. It’s hit hard everywhere. I’ve a family of 6 kids plus my husband and myself and trying to get in to do a regular shop here is awful as people throw daggers with their eyes at us. We aren’t panic buying just trying to do a normal fortnightly shop to feed our family. We have however had to stock up on nappies and formula as we have 15 month old twins and a 5 month old baby and it’s getting a little hard to find these particular ítems. Quite a bit of panic has set in over here but there’s been no closures or lockdowns just a whole heap of cancellations of events. Really hoping everything goes back to normal soon.
Sunday was my weigh in but we’ve been seriously busy looking for a new car as one of ours got caught up in the floods that happened not long ago and it’s been written off. We purchased a Toyota Land Cruiser on Sunday so that took my mind off recording it here on MFP.
Stats are as follows
OSW 101.3kg (223.3lbs) 26 Jan 20
March SW 95.5kg (209.6lbs)
CW 93.7kg (206.5lbs)
Wasn’t expecting a loss this week due to TOM but I did manage a 600gram (1.3lbs) loss.6
