Pasta. I love pasta, and it was easy to make. I gave up soda and alcohol years ago. I'll still have a wine if I go out to dinner but not more than 1. Pizza was another hard thing for me to give up.1

same here except I might have a Cobb salad from Chick-Fil-A1 -
Creamer in my coffee. I've been drinking it black for about six months now, and I NEVER thought that would happen.4

I have celiac disease. I gave up eating (for the most part) pre-made commercial gluten free substitute products like crackers and cookies. They're just not good or worth the calories.
On the rare occasion when I get sick and get a stomach bug, I'll have my husband get me some gluten free pretzel sticks and diet ginger ale. That's pretty much the only commercial GF product I eat.2 -
Wearing pajamas 24/7 , when I lost my first 30 pounds I felt good enough to wear regular clothes around town and I retired all those pajamas . I only have one pair and I will it to sleep.
Food wise. I gave up places that have MSG, I am so sensitive I think I may be allergic and I had bad trips Everytime I ate , yet for years I thought I was just a nut case. You know having an episode after eating like an alcoholic does after drinking a 12 pack lol.3 -
Soda, juice + chocolate.
Really surprised but I was ready to give it up. So much less bloated and thirsty on just water.1 -
Booze and smoking were my 2 main vices for 35+ years. Both were surprisingly easy to give up, once I’d made my mind up. I’ve got the proverbial 99 problems, but apparently addiction isn’t one of them.8

Giving up sugary drinks! I was never a fan of soda but LOVED me some brisk lemon ice tea and other sugar drinks that were similar. Now it’s just water and tea (regular non sweet tea). Pasta was easy too, I didn’t realize how much better I would feel until I stopped eating it. Now, if I have any at my MIL’s (to act great full) I feel so bloated and gross. Yuck.1

Is there anything you guys struggled with but was able to give it up easily?
For me, it was alcohol. I was a heavy drinker but refused to be called an alcoholic because I could go days, weeks and months without a drink but my real problem was I didn't know how to stop once I started drinking. I would have to drink the whole damn bottle before I felt enough was enough. On July 7, I quit drinking cold turkey and changed my diet completely. I have since lost a total of 22 lbs and got my A1C back below 6.50.
If you are a drinking alcohol and you're struggling losing weight, I can almost guarantee that if you quit drinking, you'll see a huge difference immediately.1 -
Sodas. Drank it A LOT as a kid...now I rarely do.
Alcohol. I used to drink every weekend. Now it's pretty rare (MAYBE once a month/every 2 months).1 -
I created this post back on July 31, 2018. I was my best post created. Let see if I can give it some new legs.
Name something that was easy for you to give up- For me, it was alcohol.

Drinking liquid calories such as soda, juice, alcohol.
Once I started keeping track of my calories and learned how much I was consuming in drinks alone, I cut way back and before I knew it I didn't miss it at all.2 -
Ignorance.
The more you know the easier it is.1 -
French bread or pepper water crackers with brie. This used to be a once weekly treat, and now I never eat it!2
-
Carby and starchy things: cake, bakery type breads, cookies, chips, crackers, pretzels, Little Debbie type snacks.
They are best controlled by not having them in the house at all, or having my husband store them his in his “Keep Out” drawer, which I have mentally trained myself to respect.
The rare occasion I get into carbs plays havoc with my diary. Witness yesterday’s four graham cracker sheets at 260 calories. Sheesh. Oh well, in the old days it woulda been the whole box. 🤷🏻♀️
Chocolate and sweets were also surprisingly easy to give up, and I was a walking talking mouthful of sweet tooths, scarfing at least a pound of chocolate a day. I found a stash of chocolates I brought back from Ukraine last May. Had completely forgotten them. That was mind blowing to me. I ate one and promptly forgot about them again til just now.
Yay, me!!!!!6 -
Things that were easy to give up that I don’t miss at all-
1. Alcohol
2. Creamer and sweetener in coffee
3. Soda
Things that are still hard to limit
1. Cheese
2. Baked treats

So called superfoods I didn't really love. Quinoa, almonds, chia seeds. I don't hate them but for me they are not worth the prep, cost and calories.5
-
Orange juice--I used to drink it like water. It is not.3
-
Fast food. You know that you aren’t eating anything good for you when you wind up at a fast food place, but when you type it in and see exactly the fat and calories you consumed, it was staggering to me. And I would do it multiple times a week😮. Cut all that out over a year ago now, lost more than 40 pounds and feel better than I ever have.3
-
Sugar in my coffee. (I still need some milk) Heavy salad dressings like ranch and blue cheese.
I have pretty much given up alcohol, but I miss the wine...especially during this Quarantine when everyone I know is seemingly drinking copious amounts of it.5 -
Oddly enough smoking was probably the easiest thing I've quit. I smoked for about three years. When I got a gastric ulcer; any cigarettes aggravated the condition. It's quite like drinking lava.

Brussel sprouts... so easy to give those up (-: Actually, I have not given up anything completely. I've had way less fast food; mostly drink light beer vs. craft beer now; diet pop now but occasionally a regular pop. 5 or 10 peanut M and M's now versus the whole bag... pizza is the hardest food to give up for me, frozen, regular, thin or thick crust, delivered or home made... I never met a pizza I did not like. It's all about counting the calories and doing both weight training and cardio and sticking to it with reasonable goals.2

Under eating. Before being on MFP I used to work out a lot. I ate only 1200-1400 calories total. I’m female and 5’9”. Simply not enough calories. I’d lose weight but it was torture. I now work out shorter durations, and lose weight eating 1700.3
