30 Days Shred Challenge during COVID-19

Hello all. I'm late to the party lol but I'm here nonetheless. I'll be starting L1D1 today. I have been doing 30DS off and on since I joined MFP. It also helped to jumpstart my first committed fitness journey Dec 2016.
As many times as I've started the program, I have never completed it. The farthest I've gotten is L2D3. I actually want to complete it this go-round.
I am 9.5mos pp, 13lbs away from my pre-preg weight and 34lbs from my goal. I and going through a really bad breakup as well as dealing with pp-depression so keeping active while getting this weight off will be a huge pick-me-up.
Good luck to everyone!1 -
Hello All 🙋🏾 I actually am apart of another 30 day shred challenge a few post down/up loll.. I'd like to join this one as well.
Currently not working due to covid19 and was heading towards 300lbs! Gained 8 pounds during the first week of quarantine! So i was like put the little debbies down and get to work!
Started 30 day shred 3 days ago, way harder than I thought it would be, I have been doing step aerobics and taebo along with the 30day shred!
Current Weight 04/10/2020: 287
End of challenge weight: 05/10/2020 ???

Welcome to our small group 🧡 yep, its pretty intense although it's a short workout, don't worry it will get easier by time and you will be motivated by the results you are going to get.
Just a note. Please dont go for the scale weight, its very disappointing, you'd rather prefer measuring the inches you're going to lose because you are building lean muscles here and losing the bad fat lol.
Good luck and keep posting0 -

You cannot be late for looking good 😉 the program is pretty intense, I know, but maybe this time you would start taking pictures and measurements for your progress, maybe hang the pretty dress or swimsuit that doesn't fit lately.😀 it will help you keep motivated and definitely will help you through the pp-depression. Good luck0 -
Hi! I'm all in for this. I completed 30DS 7 years ago with my best friend. I don't have any results or pics from then, but it's the most fit and best shape I've ever been in. I'm now 50lbs/22kg heavier than then, and ready to give it another go.
How are you all getting on so far?
I'm off to take my before pics, and start D1! 💪🏻1 -
I'm already doing a shred of my own design. But would like to follow the progress here. I can post a couple progress pics if you want.
Started Jan 1st 2020

172.5 lbs CW
because of turkey and pie.
Waist down 1/2 in
all other measurements same or up.

Happy shredding.2 -

Thank you!! I don't have a measuring tool but I'm definitely taking pics. I started with a dress I use to love wearing. Working towards wearing it sooner than later, even if only around the house lol.1 -

I agree. I've been spending months in the gym working my butt off and didn't get half of the results I am getting from the shred. Good luck and try to keep posting your updates 💪💪1 -

That's interesting. I'm curious to know your own program. And of course it will be great posting your pictures 😊0 -
Completed level 1 day 7 and walked for 2 miles
I also added couple of short workouts targeting abs and arms .. feels great 💪💪💪0 -
Day 4 Level 1 complete.. 30 mins step aerobics and doubled the cardio portion! Today was much easier! Still a sweaty tired mess though lol0

Starting Weight was 204 lbs in 2016
January 2020 178 lbs
April 2020 170 lbs
I'm eating 5 days out of 7, 200 above my BMR. Weekend is a bit of a carb load. Not on purpose but more a function of family meals.
I do calisthenic squats, pushups and abs every day for maintenance.
Lifting to failure, I alternate Legs, Chest and Back 3 days.
The off days lifting are cardio. My cardio of choice is jump rope. 2 days jump rope 1 day bike riding. 30 minutes high intensity.
I'm reasonably pleased with my progress.2 -
I took one day off over the weekend, and completed level 1 day 7 this morning. I think I'm going to take a day off a week - I've got a long-term bad knee, and the shred is making it worse. The day off helped with this, I think. I also bought a knee support a couple of days ago, and am also substituting the jumping jacks, with jogging on the spot (but still with the JJ arms!), which seems to be lower impact.
I took photos and measurements at the beginning, so I hope to see some progress in the end (no sign of this yet).
Good luck to everyone else that has joined in. Hopefully we can make it to the end of the 30 days!3 -
Level 3 day 4 done3

Yep you should take a day off anyhow. And try to be easy with the squats and lunges as well, bad for the knees too. Good luck 💪🤗1 -
I took day off yesterday and decided to be a total couch potato 🥱📺 but woke up with more power and finished day 8 level 1
I started to see those 6 packs and was very happy1 -
Good work everyone!!
I completed Day 2 yesterday, along with an early morning hour-long walk in the park (we're still allowed out to exercise in the UK), and 15 minutes of ballet exercises. Achey and tired today, but I'm aiming to do my walk on my lunchbreak, and then 30DS later this afternoon (I like to do it after work!).2 -
G'day from land down under (Australia),
Is it too late to join? What's the shred?
Cheers,
Anna3 -
Too cold for cardio here. I'm missing my cardio. Yesterday was a maintenance day. 50 Romanian Squats and 100 Elevated pushups with tension band bicep curls. I was pretty close on calories. Within 50.1
-
Aaand I finished day 5. I’m getting better too which is exciting.2
-
Day 6, Level 1 Complete. Endurance is much better strength is worse LOLL, my arms are so sore!!3
-
I just started this - did day 2 today, along with 1.5 hour of walking my dog. Have started the shred before a few years ago, but always seem to get bored after 1 week. This time if I start losing my motivation, I’m thinking of switching up the levels sooner.2
-
Broke through a weight platau today. Yesterday was maintenance squats 50, and Pushups 50. Focus on stability ball pullovers and rear delt tension band pulls. Lots of back and anterior shoulder.3
-
Did level 1 day 3 today morning, legs are very sore, but the exercises are getting easier2
-
Day 7, Level 1. Complete! Along with 30 mins of step aerobics and taebo! 💆🏾0
-
Happy Friday!
I ended up skipping Jillian and doing a massive cardio session on Wednesday instead (30 minute aerobic dance video, then 1h walk-jog in the park), and was super achey yesterday so I took it as my rest day.
Just finished Level 1 Day 3 of 30DS, and it was definitely more of a struggle today, (I finally added in weights to the anterior raises and side lunges and ouch!), but I completed it.
Hope everyone has a good weekend!1 -

Definitely switch up sooner if you feel up to it! When my friend and I did it years ago, we moved to Level 2 after 5 days as it got too easy for us, then did Level 2 for 13 days because we found it much harder. Do what works for you!1 -
Shred is coming along well. Down 11 lbs since Jan 1st.
I use a 3 point caliper method so the final # may not 100% accurate but I'm very meticulous so the trend is. 15% bodyfat Jan 1st 9% this morning.
Yesterday hit rear delts with tension band pulls. Lots of them. Also stability ball Pullovers for Traps and abs.
Maint elevated pushups 60, Romanian Deadlifts dumbbell style 50 with eccentric overload.
Added tension band bicep curls for good measure.3 -
I completed day 10 of level one this morning, woop! I'm equally excited and nervous about seeing what level 2 has in store tomorrow morning.
I didn't really feel like things got much easier during level 1, except the abs stuff, which I really struggled with at the beginning (and struggled with a little less at the end). I did start using heavier weights (only 2Kgs; I'm a weakling) for some of the exercises from day 6 on though, because my 1Kgs felt too easy for some things. Not the anterior raises though - they kill me.5 -
Day 8, Level 1. Complete.. Just when I thought it was getting easier it tortured me lol 🤦🏾3
