    I agree..even if they do open up more things, we will still be staying home. That is the recommendation for the vulnerable(older people, lol). We have gone for a ride a few times & stopped at daughters to talk for a bit at a safe distance, of course. & Hubby has gotten our online grocery pickup a few times. Drive there, open the back of the van, they put it in & he drives off. I guess I am about the same with housework, lol.

    you're right barbiecat, about it not mattering too much what's on a schedule, just having one. I would like to schedule some exercise time & cleaning/organizing time though. We don't do much housework either. It's just us two & dogs but this is a good time to do those things that only get done once in a great while I'm with you @RetiredAndLovingIt , I don't plan to change too many things once our city eases the stay at home, just dog park which I really miss and volunteering

    Good morning everyone. I’m a stay at home person too but being made to stay home kinda gets to me. Hubby usually runs to the store for this and that but now he doesn’t go in because he has asthma really bad so I have to go in and do the shopping I wear a mask and gloves we get up early on Tuesday Walmart has shopping for seniors at 6am that’s fun! But anyway that’s how it is right now. When I get overwhelmed with things that need to be done I make a list and check it off as I do them that helps me stay on track. Evamutt as we get older it gets harder to get things done just do what you can and don’t worry about the rest it will wait for you. And it’s ok to take a nap in the afternoon a nap helps nothing to feel guilty about. I like naps. Even if you don’t go to sleep you are resting your body sometimes that’s all you need. The Lord will get us through this praying for you Evamutt. It’s going to be sunny here in Oregon so I’m going to be outside today playing in my yard!!!! Woo hoo!!     :) My husband's cardiologist told him that he needs a lot of sleep and suggested that he take a nap in the afternoon. So for the last few years he has taken a nap at about 1:30 every day and sleeps from 1-3 hours. He considers it as medically necessary as the prescription drugs he takes.

    :) I try to complete one significant task each day. It needn't be big, just something that makes me feel useful. Significant tasks include such things as 20 minutes of pulling weeds, folding laundry and putting it away, mopping the floor in the room where I dance. When I go to the store next week, that will be my significant task. It will require writing a very well planned shopping list organized by sections of the store, remembering mask and gloves, taking my time in the store in order to stay away from people, being kind to the cashier whose being at work allows me to shop, and stripping off clothes and taking a shower and washing my hair when I get home.

    Good morning 60 & uppers :) Sorry I've been MIA basically for the past few weeks :( With the days all blending into oneness it is hard to find something to talk about or to have the desire to share what is happening. Nobody needs to feel my blahs :blush: We are still well here and for the most part happy :smiley: We do miss our church family and friends a lot :'( We went for a nice ride last evening and it was a beautiful sunny day. I have lost the few pounds I gained and am actually down a couple more than I was :smiley:

    barbiecat I love your attitude (((hug))) it is so inspiring :) I try to do things similarly as a daily rule. As far as lists go... I make one if I have many things piling up (if I've been ill) but don't beat myself up if I don't get it all done in one day. I just keep the list going until I check everything off :smiley:
    lindagalbreath577 You are such a sweetie (((hug))) I'm with you pretty much :) my hubby is usually the one who runs out if we just need a couple things and we go early when it's time to buy more. Lists are a good :smiley: one day at a time. Like I said in my message, "I wish we lived close and you could help me with my yard" B)

    Hi to all. It's so nice to read the good things that have been going on with y'all. I'm ok, not much movement on the weight but honestly I'm not especially motivated lately. Eating healthy and at least walking for 30 minutes daily. Being alone and staying in has me lazy and quite Netflix dependent. Last night someone took my Amazon delivery from outside my front door, oh my what's this world coming to. My friend that was infected is on the road to recovery now and that's a blessing. It's going to get better and I'll just wait patiently and safely. Hopefully the sun will shine later today. April showers bring May flowers right.

    I hope you are still open to new members? My name is Carol (67). I live in Chilliwack in the Fraser Valley of beautiful British Columbia, CANADA.

    I have been dealing with too much weight most of my life. About the only time I was really able to control it was during my two pregnancies. I only gained 27 pounds each time and had 9 pound babies.

    Was doing REALLY well until COVID isolation hit a couple of months ago. Then the weight just kept creeping up. So instead of being 15 pounds to goal, it became 25. Watched a Dr. Phil episode last week that was very helpful getting me back on track. As he said, "you need to be ready to head out running when this door finally opens for us". Great advice. I am going to make that my mission. To be ready to hit the road running when the door opens and IT WILL OPEN.

    Downside of being an avid reader during this time is not keeping a schedule. I work until 9 pm , read until until wee hours of the morning. Once the gyms reopen my classes start at 6 am which means my alarm would be set for 5:15 am. I need to set boundaries.

    j29t, awful about your package being stolen, can you get a replacement? so glad your friend is getting better, that's great news!!Yesterday I tried those exercises I mentioned from the senior health group but it was too tame for me, I need it to be more vigorous so I'm going back to Fitness Blender. Went on an hour walk today, yay, since my GSD, Eleanor didn't lag behind. I'm so hoping/praying it's allergies & not something else. We have vet appt wednesday for a second opinion. Wecome new member Carol. I'm so bad at remembering everyone's name on here, lynnchristy, I don't know how you do it lol. We got our stimulus check today . I'm going to order a new bed. When our daughter moved I got my grand daughter's twin bed & I feel so bad that the dogs who used to sleep with me can't now so I can hardly wait. I really needed a new bed. Husband has back problems so he has to sleep in a separate bed. I did okay yesterday food wise, went over a little with some popcorn but not bad

    @Evamutt I contacted Amazon thru chat right away and they have replacements on the way already. I'm always happy with their customer service and hope my packages were just delivered to the wrong apartment number and not stolen. Perhaps someone in the building is wondering why they got sunscreen and protein bars.

    @j29t I'm glad to hear that. I don't have much to say. We took Eleanor dog to the ponding basin today to run, I'm going to the store, I need to color my hair & make our green juice today, otherwise it's a quiet day. oh, yesterday I went to visit our youngest son & family. We visited in back yard & I wore my mask. Our middle son is sure he has the virus minus the fever. He's been home sick for a week. Him & his wife work in the hospital I used to work at. He hasn't had to go to the hospital so far

Welcome Carol glad your here!🌹 well I got grass seed planted yesterday and watered my neighbors yards. I am taking over my neighbor on the other sid of me yard I mow and weed whack her yard when I do mine. She has a planter in the front I am going to clean that up and plant flower seeds in it. She is not a gardener and is bipolar she stays inside a lot very nice person . She makes really good soups and knits so we are bartering which is fun. So I will be playing in my neighbors yards today. Everyone have a great day! 🤓🌹🦋🌷💖

    :) I went to Costco yesterday primarily to get canned dog food (Costco limited it to one case per customer) and ran into my Sunday walking friend who agreed to buy a case for me. So now I don't have to go back there again for 24 days instead of 12. Today I go to the grocery store for the first time in 25 days. We ran out of eggs and tortillas and are getting low on many other staples.

    So today wrote letters to my 4 year old grandchildren , I am planning g to do it weekly with activities for them to do this weeks activity is to make bunting for VE day celebrations and colour a map in to learn about capital cities both recieved them and loved it so now planning next weeks letters.
    Also drying parsley, sage and chives. No walks as it's raining here in the UK but playing games with the dogs ie hide and seek.

    Hey there! Hope you all are well. Idaho started the first phase of reopening today. Retail stores, churches, day care centers and youth activities can resume. Crossing my fingers that everything goes well. I will continue to wear a mask when needed and maintain my distance, but otherwise I'm resuming normal activities.

    Good morning everyone,
    I am 65 and once again on the roller coaster of yoyo dieting, this time I am doing it with the help of a dietician, my doctor and a psychologist they are going to try and work out why I lose lots of weight and then put it back on. Due to the Corona Virus appointment still a month away, just wondering if any of you had used this type of assistance before

    If you round up, I think I'd qualify for 60 and up. I will be 58 this year. Copied from my home page: Restarting with mini goals: 1 - Water Challenge; 2 - Reset Weight for today; 3 - Joined a new Bible Study FP4H group online; 4 - Starting to exercise again (oh I'm outa shape); and 5 - Showing grace and patience to others and myself!

    :) Welcome. I haven't used professional help but it has been useful for people I know. I made health and fitness my top priority ahead of family, socializing, wondering what other people think, etc. I walk for recreation and entertainment. I don't use food for recreation. I seek every opportunity to be active. I read about nutrition and am active on more than one thread on MFP with other like minded people who are supportive and encouraging.

    :) Welcome. Starting with some small achievable goals is a great idea. Water, spiritual support, being active, and being kind will help to get you where you want to go.

    :) yoga, walking, and gardening are a great exercise routine
