What are some of your unpopular opinions about food?

Alcohol is disgusting.
Pizza and most burgers are boring. Maybe because bread is kinda meh too.
Sweet and savory don't go well together most often.
Bring on the disagrees lol.0 -

I don't like fresh mangoes, but like dried!0 -
I believe that Kale causes cancer and always avoid it.
Nobody believes me. They think I avoid kale because of it's awful taste.
And don't get me started on carrots! They cause type II diabetes.
I have many other unpopular opinions.2 -

would love to hear them. I feel like I have similar opinions0 -
I know it's super trendy at certain restaurants, but the idea of slapping chicken or burger patties between two glazed donuts is nasty. I like both elements separately, but together?5

I dislike corn, mangoes, chocolate, and coffee (technically I have a food sensitivity to coffee. That mixed with the "add espresso to chocolate things!" led to disliking chocolate).0

I hate donuts to begin with, but I see the logic. sweet/savory/salty.0 -

Agreed. For me, if they're going to do a combo like that, they can't hold back. Like, it can't be grilled chicken and doughnut, it has to be fried chicken and the doughnuts gotta be fresh.3 -

Yep! It's the chicken & waffles principle. Or brown sugar glazed bacon. Taken to an extreme0 -

I'm a big fan of monte cristo sandwiches dipped in cherry sauce. A restaurant here serves it that way, super delicious.0 -
on the sandwich note... Subway is bad and idk HOW it has survived1

There was this one gas station near my house that had a Subway in it, and the dude that worked there during the day would do a lot of little things to make the sandwich taste better - roast the onions and peppers with a bit of oil and oregano with the bread, put the mayo on and then the rest of the vegetables. Whenever I went to another Subway, I could always tell I peeved them off with all my requests. The gas station Subway closed a while back, and I haven't been back since.0 -

My daughter really likes Subway, but I could go the rest of my life w/o eating one of their sandwiches and not miss a thing.0 -

Yeah, I do like chicken and waffles, but the donut burger thing has always sounded nasty to me too. Also, I hate messy food, so just the thought of holding those while eating them seems really unpleasant to me.0 -

I like Subway
SO agree...I just don't get Subway...it's just so, so bad!0 -
Subway is one of the few fast-food places I sometimes go by myself, when not on the road. Not the sandwiches, though: The nice big salad (everything but jalapenos, plus cheese & sometimes egg), with guac and vinegar, for which I need do no work at all, just order and pay. I'm in favor of Subway.3

I was going to comment about how awesome the salads are at subway. I like to get them when traveling or when I am too lazy to pack a salad for lunch. Love to get the veggie with cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, olives, banana peppers, green peppers with the fat free italian dressing packet.
I do like subway subs, but only occasionally. A few times a year I just get a craving for a subway sub. They have a unique taste that only subway subs have, lol.0 -

They have a unique smell too. I had a friend who knew I had gone to Subway before meeting up with her because she could SMELL it on me.0 -

I does have a unique smell lol!
I've always found the produce subpar - just tastes/looks like typical fast food bagged/pale/flavorless roughage.
I do, however, remember having and liking a cookie I had there many, many years ago.0 -

The Subway hype and smell and addiction (lol) comes from the bread. don't look at the ingredients. toxic!
I do liek their cookies...0 -

Just because something is used in a non-edible product doesn't mean it is unsafe to eat. Water is an ingredient in many toxic household cleaners, doesn't make water bad for you.
Other countries are far quicker than the US to ban substances due to public complaints, regardless of whether there is any truth to the claim or not.
Not sure if that's an unpopular opinion or not, but I'm not concerned about Subway bread, but might consider not chewing on my yoga mats.9 -

Since most bread really isn't even good**, except maybe as a useful device to make sandwiches more portable, I can't say that I care.
Chemikillz aren't inherently scary just because big words or what else they're ingredients in, though. Consider Dihydrogen Monoxide. Kills many people every year, including some by simple ingestion, but I chose to consume lots of the stuff. (For full factual warnings, see http://dhmo.org)
** In my own personal very biased opinion. Y'all who think it's great can have my share, except the one local farmers market guy's focaccia, and maybe a few other select cases.3 -

I think what is scarier is the soybean oil! haha0
