What is your "Petty" Reason to Lose Weight?

I started to have trouble fitting into the seat of my favorite rollercoaster. The same day I realized it I saw a gentleman have to get off because he didn't fit in the harness and thought, I don't ever want to be kicked off the ride because I don't fit in the safety restraint.11

I was turned down to donate bone marrow because I weigh too much...not so much a petty reason, but I couldn’t help being stunned that 20 pounds could preclude me from potentially saving someone’s life.16

A big "eff you" to all the people at work who spread horrible rumors about me and talked behind my back at work last year. A lot of them are overweight/obese and I know me losing weight would make em jealous.13

My petty reason is so I can keep up with the girls in my aerial dance class and not seem like the oldest person there who is very much out of shape.10

I don't know if it's "petty," but it might be a bit silly: I want to appendix carry.8

I want to look great for my wedding day, and I want to be more confident in bed with the lights on. (sorry for the TMI) plus working out helps with my depression!16

Possible school reunion next year.6

My petty reason - I have a gorgeous Jenny packham full sequin red gown that I bought in size 12 at 80% off in the sale when I was 7 months pregnant because I thought I'd just magically return to my pre pregnancy weight. Nearly 3 years later I'm down to a 14 and I'm not likely to be going to a ball anytime soon but damn it I'm going to wear that dress to the supermarket if I have to when I reach my goal!39

My sister is ~25 lbs lighter than me and looks amazing. I have a much curvier figure, so if I lost even 10-15 lbs, I'd look hotter. I am tired of taking pictures next to her and being outshined.10

My family is a "big family" as in pretty much everyone is overweight and I don't want to be another overweight person in the family.14

I wrote this last year ^^ While I am still striving to be in the a best shape of my life and feel good about myself. Deep down.. I want to look better than a rival. Actually shock her. Petty I know. 😑

I was given up for adoption at birth. I found my biological family three years ago. My brother's girlfriend (I guess you would call her that) made fun of me after they met me; "but, she's fat"..judgemental B***...then my biological father was showing me pictures of my family and said, "see you are DUMPY, just like your aunt xxx and cousin xxx". That pissed me off and both judgements really bothered me. Rather than seeing me for who I am, they judged me because I'm 270 lbs (I've gained 20 lbs since then). That's just two examples. I emotionally shut down after that. After a lifetime of wondering about them, I now know most (not all) are jerks and don't deserve me - just wait until I'm no longer dumpy...;)37

I used to get hit on a lot (i know, you're thinking why you lyin for? haha) and I just felt ugly, I don't want women hitting on me (I have a great girl at home) I just want to feel like women are attracted to me. Dont know if thats just sad or petty19

I went through a divorce within few days of my marriage coz my ex husband is having multiple girl friends and treated me very badly. I want to lose the depression weight I gained after divorce and show the people that I can get a loving boy to be my future hubby.18

Haha, I look facially very much like my mum does & grandma did. I already know what I would look like in 25-50 years time if I don't manage my weight. And the associated health problems I can look forward to.8 -
I want to feel comfortable at a friends hen party I’m going to next year.4

My good reasons are the usual. Be fit, healthier, feel better, etc.
My petty reason is that I don't want to look like all the other Dads. I'm sick of being just another day, gray old man.13 -
I guess it might not be that petty.... but definitely selfish..... I want to be healthy enough to have a baby.
I was religiously on here for years and lost some weight but I went ghost and unfriended all the people I met after I was told I might not have children. I just want to get out of the depression and heal my body.36 -
Petty - to look better and gain confidence
Not so petty - to beat depression16 -
Good reasons: feel healthier/have more energy, keep cholesterol at normal level, get in shape before I have kids for a healthier pregnancy and to teach them better food habits
But my petty reasons? I miss feeling cute effortlessly. Don't get me wrong, I love myself and my body and all it does for me, but when I'm a normal weight, I just feel I look so much better with so much less effort. I got down to a healthy weight this winter, but quarantine and working from home brought it back. Also, I want to look hella cute at my friend's wedding next year!13 -
We're building a pool. It should be ready in mid-September. At the pool opening party I want to come out in my bikini looking like a snack.15

Petty reasons: I've always wanted to be considered "small" for some reason that word means something to me and I've always wanted someone to call me that.
Not so petty reason: I have 17 yo and 19 yo children. I am starting now to realize (because I've seen it around me) that if I don't get healthy as I grow older, I will eventually be a burden to them (having to take care of an unhealthy mother in my older years) I can't STAND the idea that they will need to "take care of me" except for reasons resulting from natural aging. I'm doing it for their future. I think it's the most motivating reason I've ever had.18 -
I was embarrassed to be seen buying clothes at the men's Big and Tall store.12

I don't wanna buy new bras, the ones I had were $60 at Victoria's Secret...10

I gained some weight in the quarantine, and it's unbelievable how much of a difference that made to my fitness level (combined with being relatively inactive for 2 months). Almost everything has opened up now, and I'm able to get back to my routine.
There is a fitness game I really really enjoy playing for the gameplay aspect, not just for the fitness aspect. I'm now unable to enjoy it as much because I'm less fit and heavier. I was planning to just maintain for now and lose the weight later, but it looks like I'm going to be getting back to dieting sooner than I planned. I really want to enjoy this game.
What's the game? Inquiring minds want to know!
My super petty reason for losing weight is so that I can rock my favorite leather jacket again and look like the badass I feel like.
Ring Fit adventure on Nintendo Switch. I really don't want to lower the difficulty because it makes levels shorter or reduce my running speed because of my petty pride, and they added a new music game mode which I really want to complete in all difficulties but lack stamina. Plus I'm competing with someone for mini game points and it sucks when I can't even do as well as I used to do, let alone improve my score.
Thanks! I've wanted this game for months after seeing the ads on TV at Christmas time but couldn't recall the name lol2 -
My petty reason to lose weight is to have someone pick me up because they can’t believe I’m so petite.13

I want my thigh gap and flat stomach back.6
-
I have two petty reasons: 1) I want to look good - I love clothes but just feel so meh and scruffy when I feel overweight and make zero effort and I hate it. 2) I don't want to be a frumpy mummy at the school gates.8

@aeloine yay! Not to mention the 150 lbs or so of junk in your ex you've got rid of that she's gained5
