Kirby said feedback was that the house didn't have 1-3/4 baths, uhhhh duhhhh, it's not listed as having 1-3/4 baths.... listed 1-1/2.
also that it needed paint. the inside walls, probably. anything you paint will not agree w/everyone's tastes, paint it what you want when u buy it.
Kirby hooked up the airstream so I can hang out in there, I got the tv, internet, bed, frig so I'm good.. took yogi to baby sitters til Monday. gotta find a place to park the car (can't be in our driveway). 1st showing is at 8am, last is 5-5:30pm. another long day. told Kirby to ride home, change in the garage and walk his way around to the front to get to the airstream,

Lisa That mallow plant is in the same family as your pink and yellow hibiscus, I believe.
Kim Is this zucchini an heirloom, do you think? I'd like to save the seeds and plant next spring if so...2 -
Dusted and vacuumed bedroom. Will do more vacuuming, cleaning and washing this week.
Set up a steamer to help breathing.
Don't want to sneeze after surgery!
Also went to a department store a little further away ... and won't likely return there any time soon. Too busy. Too many people not social distancing. Mostly elderly ladies who act like they are completely unaware of anything unusual going on. And packs of young guys wandering everywhere. Last time we were there, before C19, security removed a pack of them so this seems to be common behaviour in this particular store. But we got a few things we wanted ... and left the store as quickly as possible.
I've been on the hunt for button-up shirts but they are surprisingly difficult to find. I saw a few linen shirts, but they're too scratchy for me. I saw several that are really short and that style doesn't suit me any more. But nice, smooth, hip-length button-up shirt in a colour other than white just aren't popular right now. Also, I don't want to spend much on button-up shirts since I don't really like them ... but I need to wear them for the next month or so.

Oh, Bette came back from the hospital, she’s as good as new, can’t ever tell he got hit3
-
Lisa in happy place. Listening to soothing music and Drew napping at my side.3

She’s all nice and purdy now. Kirby gave them a great review. When he went inside to hook her up so I can stay in it today, we found a vent hose exposed and some doors off. He’s gonna call them Monday. To see if someone can come out and fix it or he will retract his review and update it if he has to bring it back for them to put her back together

Hello everyone! Such a lovely deeply supportive interesting thread! I will slowly work up to writing and sharing myself.
I have no experience with such large zucchini but my fav zucchini dish is browning thin slices in olive oil then mixing with pasta and warm sour cream.
I would also take a weekend to try the new area. I could never hack the heat in Florida but people are very dif that way. My dream spot would be somewhere cold and dry but close to a large body of water, salt or fresh.4 -
Sarah- sounds good. I don’t add sour cream or Greek yogurt never occurred to me. I do love browning my thin slices in olive oil1

Hi Gals,
Zucchini - Oh ladies I shook my head and laughed at how many of you would compost or toss a large (or Lisa ANY) zucchini. The throw it out mentality is what adds to the huge quantity of wasted food in the US. The large zucchini is perfect for grating or stuffing and maybe you don’t eat the skin, and have a bit more seeds to scoop out but the flesh is fine. As someone who counts every penny I would never throw out a large or any other zucchini.
Karen that is a zucchini that is called an 8 ball it is an heirloom and while it is a bit on the big side it is not as large as they will get. They are at any size considered a stuffing zucchini. The very small ones are single serving, you trim the top off, scoop the seeds and then fill it and serve – very cute. The one the size you have I would cut in half horizontally filling the bottom with stuffing and then grate the top.
Stuffing ideas –
sausage and rice, cook the sausage and cook the rice, mix together with other veggies, seasonings you like a bit of cheese put it in the zucchini and drizzle with marinara sauce… you can use a different meat, quinoa or orzo instead of the rice.
Cornbread and taco seasoned beef – make cornbread, cook the ground beef in taco seasoning dice the cornbread and mix with the beef add a bit of cheese stuff and drizzle with salsa….

(ps I sent that zucchini to Karen)

Margaret – I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Drew had a problem with the child or the other animals and was acting out.
Pip – you can’t please all the people all the time. I know a lot of people park their RV’s in WalMart’s parking lot
Does anyone have a dessert recipe that uses a lot of egg yolks? I have 12 that I’d like to use up. Only thing is…it can’t be something chocolate.
Went to Food Lion early this morning. Got ice cream for Steve. It was BOGO, Edy’s ice cream. Also got a rain check for Pepsi. I knew they didn’t have any of the diet caffeine free because I took it all yesterday…lol But I got a raincheck for later.
Sarah – welcome! I thought, too, that I could never hack the heat in NC. But eventually you do get used to it. Now I’m very sensitive to the cold, I hate it. Even humidity…I think you get used to it.
Last check in before the pool!!!

Hi Gals,
A couple of thoughts on grated zucchini - it is great added to soup, stew, or stir fry… but what I do is grate squeeze out the liquid, measure into 2 cups and put into zip bags (sandwich size is just right) freeze and then later defrost and re-squeeze out the liquid, which leaves you with 1 cup of dry zucchini. This is a great thickener for a soup or stew, and perfect for zucchini bread, or my newest find a recipe from delish.com for zucchini pizza crust, no gluten, just a bit of cornstarch so mostly keto, and while not really great for CICO as there is a lot of cheese I found it to be an acceptable treat.

Machka, I do hope I am wrong but surgery and button down shirts rang a bell. I used zippered sweatshirts at home after my lumpectomy but it didnt take long till I wore my regular clothes. Wishing you well and an easy recovery. You are right about the sneezing.4

Michele - scratch pound cake takes a bunch of yolks. as does baked custard1

It's a surgery to fix a badly diviated septum and to reduce turbinates.
I'm not to wear pullovers for a while in case I bump my nose and set off bleeding. It also occurred to me today that all my bras are pullovers ... sports bras. I think I'll have to pick up one with hooks. But I will try to do that at a much quieter store closer to home.

The way I read the article, it looks like they were getting a refund at some point, not paying the cruise line. Maybe I misread.
Pip ~ I'm sorry the air stream was left with a few problems and hope it will get fixed in a timely manner.
My DnL's mom took her and the kids to a condo in Orange Beach, Alabama for a week and DnL says the beach there was so crowded you couldn't move. This is because the beaches in Fla are closed so all the folks headed to Alabama. I sure hope they come home safe and sound and in good health.

Had a bad storm last night with much needed rain. Dogs were up all night afraid and the storm was very loud in the RV. So not much sleep last night. No damage to us or park so that was good. Slow start this morning.

Heather, You are more brave than I with the way you delve into your past. I keep mine in the past and use only the lessons I've learned and leave the experiences alone. My husband has grown to enjoy my friends on MFP. Sometimes he'll ask as how you all are doing and if I have any good stories. He knows some of you by name.
Allie, I think you are already doing what I would have suggested to you. You are writing about the advantages and disadvantages of moving and staying. It has to be based on what you value most. No one else can decide for you, because they will use their own values to color their response. For example, if you asked me, I'd answer based on my own opinion of Florida and my own opinion of being near family.
I remember throwing up in the doctor's office because I was so terrified of getting a polio shot. It wasn't until I was an adult that I understood that my uncle had died of polio as a young adult when I was three years old and my mother was terrified that her children would suffer the same fate. I also remember being very resentful years later when the oral vaccine came out, that I had to suffer with the shot.
Bessie spent the night on the floor by my side of the bed again last night because of fireworks. Fortunately they were over by midnight.
About zucchini, the little ones should be sliced and steamed for a healthy and tasty side dish and the big ones should be cut in small chunks and put in the compost bin.

Ode to the large zucchini!
I remember someone telling me to never keep your car unlocked in a church parking lot during zucchini season! The picture of a little lady checking door handles with a large basket of the baby sized zucchini makes me giggle.

Cheri I love your hair and I love that your husband is your hair stylist.
Allie I am a bit envious of your possible plans to move to Sanibel. So exciting! Sanibel is possibly my favorite place in the entire world. My spouse dreams of living there, and talks about it frequently. I am not sure I want to be that far away from the grandchildren.
Margaret What a darling dog Drew Barry is! I love her!
Heather My spouse is getting less skeptical about my MFP buddies. I think the concept of remote pals seems suspect to many people, though. Tell Johnny hi from me and tell him I'm not a bit scary and that I have a very boring ordinary life. Also that I adore the grandchildren of my spouse as if they were my very own flesh and blood. Just like he does. LOL!!!!! And I totally understand about the golden anniversary. In 2022 my 50th wedding anniversary to my ex-husband would be celebrated. I can see how that might be a source of tears and nostalgia. We are still such good friends and I do love him. I saw him at my granddaughter's swim meet 4 days ago, and he asked if my spouse and I were feeling okay about eating in a restaurant yet, as he was wanting to have a lunch date with us. I know that probably seems weird. Keep talking to us about this, we have broad shoulders and are good listeners.
Rebecca What a tolerant dog! Athena is just yummy.

It is great to read about former spouses being friends. Most people(especially my sisters) do not understand it at all. My mom and my close friends understand it. Some say they would understand if we had kids together(one pregnancy but miscarried)- Mine came out here 5 yrs ago(first time seeing him in 20yrs). Current and former husbands met and they both said" I really wanted to hate him but he is a nice guy" . Current one is looking forward to his next visit next month, planning on where he wants to take them. He will be bringing current wife. This is #3 for him, #2 died from pancreatic cancer just over 5 yrs ago. I still love him, always will. Junior high sweet hearts and all. I am looking forward to the visit but will be a bit hard. Current one dominates all conversations so won't get much time to really talk like we want. Last time we got to have some time to talk/catch up/etc. I don't think that will happen with Karen here. She is more understanding than #2 was(she destroyed cards/letters I sent him so he never knew I tried to contact him and told his family to not have any contact with me either-found this out when he finally contacted me right before she died.
Thank you for sharing your story. I appreciate it.
what I did last night with a zucchini was slice it, sprinkle with garlic salt, put it in the air fryer, cook until just about done then sprinkle with parm. cheese. I ate them just like that- they are great to dip in maranara sauce.4 -

It's just good to have realised what was going on with me. And good that at least some people understand.
Re MFP, I do get cross with DH when he says things like, "you don't know who these people are", or "you can't trust anything anyone says online", "they could be anybody".
Grrrrrr! To me that's implying that I'm an idiot. I trust my own judgement more than I trust his.

my husband said the same thing about another chat group I was in(the group closed- was a Freebie Site- when there were tons of freebies to get) I still chat on FB with many of them. He doesn't say it quite so much now after we have actually met up with two of them. We are planning on going up to Oregon to see them again- a nice road trip. He is such a pessimist- it is annoying and depressing. Like you, feel like they think we are stupid and gullable, like we can't trust our own judgement. Yes, there are those that will use that trusting nature in us but we are big girls and can handle it ourselves.
He hasn't said anything about this site because I haven't really talked about it-well, I have but he wasn't listening- what ever.3 -
Rebecca - Athena and her dog are just precious.
Margaret - your new dog Drew is a cutie.
Karen - “spot a cougar” that’s hilarious!
Lisa - that sounds like a perfect zucchini recipe to me! I would love to get rid of our dining table, the only problem is we have family dinners (I hope we can have some again someday) so we need the big table. I agree with you in Marie Kondo my daughter did adopt a lot of her ideas.
Allie - I think you’re a smart, courageous woman and you should do this if your friend tells you it’s not a dump. I personally couldn’t move from my daughters and grands but I admire anyone that has that adventurous heart and the courage to follow their dreams.
Online friends - I have to admit that the first online chatting experiences I ever had has been with you ladies and another group on here starting in 2018. Before that our eldest daughter and my husband had made connections with people online and I turned my nose up at it. My husband for completely different reasons than my daughter. My daughter joined a group when she was expecting our Grandson. The group was called the September sweet peas as all members were due in September of 2011. During the pregnancies it seemed to all go well, they supported each other through all the joys and heartaches that can occur. After the children were born it became a group of judgemental bullies, it took a long time to convince our daughter that she needed to stop conversing with them, that she was a wonderful mother and they were just dragging her down and making her doubt herself. She finally left the group but remained friends with a couple of the ladies through Facebook. They are all supportive and help each other immensely even though they have never met in person. Her husband calls these friends her fake friends, she rolls her eyes at him and keeps chatting.
Barbie - Rodger is the same, I don’t share everything but he knows a little about everyone and listens when I tell him a story. He’s really enjoyed the Athena pictures.
Machka - it has been a long time without a vacation and we are both looking forward to the break. We are definitely going into Jasper. I prefer Jasper to Banff, I find Banff too touristy with all of the shops and stores. We’ll probably drive around and stop at whichever roadside turnout grabs our fancy. Hike to see some falls, or just enjoy the nature. We have done that all 4 or 5 times we have vacationed near the mountains and we have not been disappointed yet. I was disappointed a couple of times in Banff, but that was more to do with hubby wanting some of the tourist shops that I have no interest in.
I have gone to the farmers market and our local butcher this morning. I bought some fresh peas, new potatoes, raspberries, strawberries, cucumber, tomato and peppers. I like the freshness and supporting local but it is so much more expensive. The butcher on the other hand is cheaper than the grocery stores. I am just finishing up catching up with all of you lovely ladies and then I’m going to clean. Rodger has been working on a shelf for our granddaughter, I will post a picture when it’s done. It will sit on her dresser to try to contain books and still give her room for her knickknacks that she is so very fond of.
His design has given me an idea for an upgrade in our kitchen that I’ll float by him and then wait for him to think it was his idea in the first place. I know when I suggest something he takes a while to mull it over and eventually he sees what I am envisioning and will make it so. He grumbles a lot in the mulling stage about why it won’t work though.
Well I should get off here and do some cleaning.

Heather & Machka: I agree with both of you about vitamin D. It is a huge help with wintertime blues, especially for those of us with summer birthdays. D3 is so helpful, I would recommend it.1
-
Heather - glad you're more yourself today.
On the subject of online friends - my husband met Rori when she and I met for the first time four years ago now. If it bothered him before or since, he's never said.
Today's project is complete - here's the dining room this morning (before dawn):
And this afternoon, it is now an extension of the kitchen and a breadmaking center:
Happy to have it, but now I have to do something with my office, as all the things that were in the kitchen are now in here temporarily (including the table and chairs!)
Later y'all,
Love,

those shaped zucchini are great for stuffing- mix of ground meat(beef, sausage, pork, chicken or turkey-what ever you want) mixed with diced canned tomatoes, lots of seasoning and either a little quick oats or left over rice and an egg- all mixed together and baked. I want to do that with the one zucchini I have- not sure if husband will eat it but that is what I am craving.
My new favorite way is cut into like fries, lightly coat flour/egg and milk then seasoned bread crumbs or panko that has parm in it. Spray lightly with oil then either bake or air fry. That is the same way I do my "fried" okra- can't wait for mine to start producing It isn't doing much- three pots planted and only one growing- will have to raid my parents garden in a month or so.3
