5’9, goal weight of 140 lbs. I’ll reevaluate when I get there but I’d like to get to a low body fat percentage and then start focusing on muscles2
-
Just over 5'9 and my current goal weight is 175lbs. I've got a long way to go and maybe when I get there I'll set a new goal.2
-
5'9, currently 187-190 depending on the day. First goal is to get under 170, then under 160. Ideally, I'd like to get back to 145 but I'd be happy between 155-165.1

5'9, starting weight 170. Currently 158; Goal: 140-1451

Love the thread, I’m 5,9
SW 270lb
CW 220lb
GW 1603 -
I'm 5'11'' so that bit taller.
SW (this time around) 88.3 kg = 195lb
CW 84.3 kg = 186lb
GW 72.5 kg = 160lb
Ideally I would like to maintain at 72-74 kg.1 -
Im 5”8 and Im 163 right now my goal is 132.0
-
I’m not as tall as some of the ladies here. But wanted in on the conversation lol. I’m 5’7” started at 290 current 263. Setting little goals along the way so I don’t get discouraged and can celebrate wins along the long ride.
Looking to get to a final of 160 and see how I feel. Long way to go. But I’m Headed the right direction.2 -
I'm 5'9.5" and aiming for 140, but if I'm happy with how I look before I get there I'll aim for maintenance sooner2
-
I'm 5' 8 3/4" - currently 177.8 lbs, started (this time around) at 191.2. Hoping to get somewhere between 155-160.3
-
I'm just under 5'9" 63 years old so shrinking
Current weight is 180.5 lbs.
High School weight was 132
At 57 I was 137 and fit.
Current goal 165, just to get the Covid19 stay at home lbs. off.
Ultimately somewhere under 150.
Ultimate weight needs to be determined by body fat, not overall weight.
I think it really depends on your body structure, muscle mass and age.

I'm 5'9" and weigh about 210 currently. My highest weight was about 235 and my end goal is 160. I would like to re-evaluate once I hit about 180 though because I tend to lose weight all over my body at the same time. I don't want to get too low and lose all my curves4

I'm 5'9. Currently at 250 - can't believe it. My goal weight is 190-195.2

I can see this thread has been going for a while, so may not be so relevant anymore but... I'm 1.72m which I believe is about 5'8 and I reached my goal weight 3y ago, I lost 3 stone. I'm currently 59.5kg which is about 132lbs. I did this by cutting out all processed food, sugar and staying relative low carb. I row 3-4 times a week, anything from HIIT sessions to long distance low rate sessions to maintain fitness and "fat burn" zone workouts. I walk daily, about 5k-8k. Nothing is ever easy, you have to be committed to adhere to healthy living 24/7. I don't say I never diverge from healthy foods etc, just pick my treats carefully. Reading Zoe Harcombe'S book: "stop counting calories and start losing weight" was my turning point.2

Hi all! I love this thread. I'm 5'8 - 1.73 cm. Current weight is 166 - 75kg. Goal weight is 160 - 73 kg. I have gone as low as 153 lb - 70kg. but it was a constant struggle maintaining that and recording every bite I put in my mouth and life was not as fun anymore. So this time around, I'm aiming for 160 which will give me more leeway. Best of luck to all of you on your journeys!4

HI Im 5.9 at 183. Would like 155 but at this point and at 41 will be joyous to get to 164. I Base sat at 164 when I was active. Im 42 and hitting hormone irregularities already so weight loss is just not as easy peasy but well get there Healthy and slo3

I lost weight before and I was 185 (sz 10) at my lightest and was very lean and muscular. Was a runner and super strong from weightlifting. Life and kids find me with a SW of 310, CW of 297, GW of 230. I’d be happy for less but I’ll examine that when I get to my current goal.1

*(Pardon my metric)
1.77m, started from 85 kgs, now down to 71 and I've yo-yoing between 76-70 for about 3 years now,
I always thought that 64 kgs was the way to go but I'm starting to feel this isn't possible anymore and I think I'll stop at 68 and then work on body composition.
My main problem has always been how bulky I look. I am taller than the majority of women around and i just look so darn big. |To put this into perspective, I have a chest circumference of 100 cm and I wear A cups. I feel like an ungraceful hill sometimes and I think that no weight will actually make me happy. Unless of course I go below 60 kgs which I find impossible.
I don't know if anyone here has struggled with those thoughts but all suggestions welcome.2 -
I'm 5'8".
Started in January at 167lb UK size 14
Currently 130. UK size 8-10
Want to get to 125. Size 8.
The last 3lb are proving hard to shift. Have until September to do it, as this is when I get married!4 -
I am in my 50's. I started at 312 lbs and felt happy at my goal weight at 156.4
-
I'm 5'8", currently 205, initial goal 164. Would like to get to a size 8.2

Obviously your aims are your own, but my own sense is that 64kg is quite low for a height of 1.77m. It's well into the lower half of normal bmi. I guess in the end it is about what you feel comfortable with , and how you can like your body. I am currenty 84.5kg, aiming to get back to a steady weight between 72 and 75 kg.

i think everyone has problems with themselves. for me i am 4ft 11in very short and round and would love to be tall. The rest of the women on my daddy's side of the family are very tall and they hate it. ... But God makes each of us and we are His masterpiece and He loves us. So i am learning to love myself the way i am and just try to make this short body healthy and be happy each day He has given me. I pray you learn to love you the way you are. God bless.5 -

Surprisingly enough, the only time I have managed to be at 64 (granted, I was only 22 at the time) I still wore size L/40-42 at pants. I am bottom heavy gal and that doesn't seem to change no matter the weight.
I kinda hope that body composition work will help with that.
Good luck on your journey!0 -

I was tall - one of the tallest kids in my class, and was asked often if I got bullied for it, which was rather a strange question for me because I couldn't imagine why anyone would bully me over my height; I loved being tall! And no, I was bullied in school for many things, but being tall was not one of them.
I"m 5'8 1/2" - is that close enough to 5'9" to post? lol I was really irritated that I didn't get that last 1/2"
Ultimate goal for me is right now 180 lbs; the absolute lowest I'd go is 160 lbs, but knowing how difficult getting off the last 20 lbs is, I seriously doubt I'd make 160. I'm not sure what size I'll end up in; I down to the low 230's in weight right now and am pretty well solidly into 18-20's; I think if I hit that 180 lbs, I'll probably end up in something like 14-16's.
Its very interesting to me how people of the same height can still be widely different in their body compositions. I'm broad shouldered and wide hipped and big boned, so I know that healthiest for me personally is going to be the upper end of the BMI spectrum. But there are others who are much more lithe and graceful than I am who would fair well lower than me. *shrugs* but I don't mind be the raw-boned, solidly built pioneer type2 -
I'm 5'9, started my weight loss journey at 215... lowest weight so far has been 164. But quarantine kicked me back up to 178.
My ideal weight for my body is 155.3 -
Mid 170's, I think. I'll know what my goal weight is when I see what I want in the mirror.
The lowest I've ever been as an adult is 144 lbs, but I wasn't lifting heavy then.3 -
5'10. Goal weight of 165 lbs. Current weight 191 lbs.

I was just reading a post from a nutritionist in another thread who said that her rule of thumb for calculating ideal weight 100lbs for someone who is 5 feet tall and then then add 5lbs for every inch; and then +/- 10%. That would put an ideal weight for 5'9" at 145 lbs - range 130.5-169.5lbs.2
