I race time trials on my bike. We have a regular weekly club race and over the last 5 years I've raced it 35 times. This week was my first race of the year due to covid, and I got an all time PB by 90 seconds which is huge, mainly due to weight loss and consistent training.14

I ran out of trail. My rides have gotten progressively longer as I looked forward to seeing what was beyond the next bend. Last week I found the trailhead for the other side. With a bit of a loopback at the start and a jaunt around a nearby lake, the total distance is now over 50 miles. Now I'm wondering what detours along the route will show me...13

Baked and iced cupcakes for my husband's birthday and didn't eat one!
I've been really trying to get my sweet tooth under control lately, it's working 😁15 -
I went for what I figured would be a short, kind of slow run. NSV #1 is that I consider running over three miles as "short."
As I started, it seemed easier than the last two runs, but also my cadence was up. As I came to the first one-mile split, I realized I had run a mile faster than I ever had before. That's NSV#2.
I was able to keep up the pace and when I got to 5K, I realized NSV #3 and #4. I had just run 5K faster than I ever had, and I met a goal I had to run 5K in less than 30 minutes. Holy feline!
I got home and synced my watch. I found out that I had beat my previous 5K time by 2:16. That's just nuts. I also discovered NSV #5 and #6. That first mile split? It wasn't my fastest mile on the run according to my device. It told me I had run a sub-nine-minute mile. That was another goal. I was about 19 seconds faster than my previous fastest mile at 8:50. Number six was I also beat my fastest 1K, but by less than two seconds.
When I hit the 5K mark on the run, I realized I had broken some personal records, and I had tears of joy boil up in my eyes, and something that I wasn't sure was laughter or crying coming out of my pie hole. I think it was both.25 -
I've just realised that for a good while now, I've been able to look at pictures of delicious food and watch programmes about delicious food, and look up recipes etc, without feeling compelled to binge on delicious food there and then. I still enjoy everything about food, but there's a sort of - I guess, detachment, too?
I think you could eat something wonderful in front of me and I wouldn't stab you with your own fork to steal the plate of wonder. That's new.
Maybe it's self-control?
I appreciate food, but I'm not sure I'm controlled by food anymore.24 -
It's been 1 month only and I noticed a slight change in my before and after photo. It's so important for me to take monthly photos and body measurements. Despite the expectation of weight fluctuations, which can really mess with my head, I lost 1/2 inch from my hips. 😊16

I can now pick up my cat without grunting. (He's a chonk.)25

My shadow had a waist!
I wore a sundress with a cinched waist to an outdoor party yesterday. Wearing dresses like that used to make me look pregnant because the dress would cinch above my big belly. But yesterday, as the sun was setting, I noticed my shadow and it clearly went in at the waist and then flared out a little at the skirt. 🤗34 -
Pulled on my cargo trousers that are quite tight and almost impossible for me to sit in for any length of time without undoing the waist button.....It dawned on me this morning that even after my evening meal last night, I didn't need to undo my waist button....
They are a tad tight when sat down but not uncomfortable!23 -
I lost my weight 2 years ago so no one mentions it now but this morning I had on a dress from lady next door, it was too big for her, she wore a size 4, so it was a size 12 and fit good. Someone said you have lost weight, felt good! I had actually gained 5 lbs and had just lost it, got down to 162, so on to my goal of the 150's! 159 would be fine with me, better than 208.21

LOL, sometimes I joke about using my big, old cat for "Kittlebell swings."
NSV: Last night I said no to a hamburger bun and replaced it with homemade spelt bread. The NSV was speaking up when the bun was already loaded onto my plate.14 -
This is going to be a long one. By way of background, I was at my highest weight at 15 years old, at 230 lbs. In 2017, at 26, I managed to very very very slowly get down to 135 and stay there for about 6 months before I got pregnant. My weight loss was mostly in 30 lb spurts every few years between 2007-2017. When I got pregnant, I gained 50 lbs and was very angry with myself (even though my doctor wasn’t worried). After I had my daughter I had some not at all weight related complications in the form of multiple blood clots in each of my lungs. I’m recovered now. When my daughter turned 1 at the end of February I was within 7 lbs of my prepregancy weight. Now it’s more like 14 after an exceedingly stressful few months. I’m finally ready to make another push and hopefully get to my 100 lbs lost marker and then think about skin removal surgery.
Today, I decided to take my daughter on a hike. I was worried when I was going out about how my legs looked. My running shorts haven’t been fitting as well lately and my inner thighs have much more excess skin than I would like. I didn’t check the elevation before we went on our hike and figured it would be a pretty easy three miles. What it was was almost 1000 feet in elevation gain over a mile and a half. It was a busy morning on the trail and I was happy to see that nobody looked at my legs as I passed them but several people remarked that they were impressed at how quickly I was moving with a toddler of my back. Someone took a picture for me at the top and I didn’t look at all like I thought I did.
So my NSV is being able to appreciate what my legs and body could do, rather than being worried about how I look. My legs that I was so worried about easily carried my daughter and I up a mountain. My lungs that had been filled with clots and infarcted tissue worked beautifully. I’m thankful to myself for making the changes I have over the years to get myself here and I’m at peace with the remainder of the process.

I did the run session with my outdoor fitness group. I've wanted to try it for a little while but, it is 90mins long and I've never done a run that long. The people who go to the session always seem very fit and was worried about slowing them down.
There was a lot of hills and it was very hot but, I did it! I ran nearly 11km which is the furthest I've ever run. I was at the back for most of the time but the group was very supportive and I'm going to give it another go.24 -
When I got up this morning my boyfriend gave me a back scratch and said that there was a lot less of me to scratch than there used to be.17

I put a 27g brownie into my food for the day but when I measured it, it was so small that I decided it wasn’t worth it.14

I am truly glad to hear that. I hope your case was not too severe and your road to recovery is short.10 -
Two pairs of trousers I tried on were way too big this morning. I couldn't find my belt, I ended up changing them after they fell down chasing the kids!15

On Friday I rode my Gazelle in the AM for 45 minutes then later did a 5.75 mile trail ride on my mnt bike. Then on Saturday I did a very intense 10 mile trail ride.
The 10 miles and level of the ride was by far the best I have done in decades, if not ever.

I took my new boat out today to see how well it would do going upstream. The first half mile is the most challenging. I didn't know if I'd be able to make it. It was still difficult, but unlike in my whitewater canoes, it was possible. I ended up paddling three miles upstream. Next time I might try to get past that next shallow steep part and go farther. It's much nicer the farther away from town I got.

I logged over 100 miles this past week riding my bike. I couldn't have done it when I was heavier.17

I had a rough emotional day. There are candy bars in the freezer. I had one, within my calories. I am not having another, and I'm okay with that.31

1 month in and I was nervous to call the dietician. I have been working hard and doing the right things, but it was intimidating to speak frankly about my food issues with a stranger. She was really helpful and gave me good guidance. I am proud of myself for being honest.30

Being new here the first thing I did before replying to this thread was finding out what NSV meant!
Well after losing about 24 lbs in 4 weeks (about 60 to go) I noticed my feet don't look fat anymore! Also I have been able to incorporate some running in my daily walk the last 10 days. Can't wait to run a full 10k again!!!18 -
Massive NSV from this weekend. The picture on the left is from a ten mile run I did a year ago and on the right is my ten mile run from Saturday. Massive improvement in my average pace and I’m really excited about it!

Think this is the first photo I've seen of you. You look like you feel AWESOME in both pics! Was the most recent route at 9:51 pace the same as the original one?7 -
I was able to climb to the top of Stone Mountain. Whew..I did it!32

I had planned to make pizza tonight using a bought (but not pre-rolled) dough, a packet of cream cheese (past use-by date), a ball of mozzarella, a pack of prosciutto and some artichokes. I’m a sucker for using whole packs of things in my cooking for convenience.
Well I was looking over the calorie details when I got everything out of the fridge and thought it looked quite steep, even when considered that I was planning for it to stretch to 3 meals.
And then the dough was a *kitten* to roll and came out slightly smaller than I intended. So I used a scant half of the cream cheese, 2/3 of the mozzarella and half the prosciutto. This is a NSV because I stopped myself from overloading my pizza from sheer laziness.
Then I thought because the pizza had a smaller area than I wanted that maybe it would just be 2 meals. However I decided that I would fill half my plate with salad and then put a piece of pizza that fit nicely on there and see how I went. If I wanted a second piece I had to add as much salad again. Turns out I could easily restrict myself to 1/3 only so that’s my second NSV!29
