08/05 - 156.5 - Well hello there.... 3.5lb jump today? Must be sodium and dehydration. I drank a lot of water but I also moved a lot outside yesterday. It would've been difficult to keep up with my outside activity had I already been fully hydrated so I'm not surprised there. Also curious about scale because for the first time in the 4 yrs I've had it decided to start up in kg mode, not lbs mode. Took me a pretty long while to figure out how to get it back. May need new scale? Been reliable all this time so unsure.

JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS ~|~ Round 122 (round 54 for me ) I'm in for another round (of course!) – I need to just keep going! As always, thank you @GrandmaJackie such a champion particularly in these unprecedented & unsettled times, helping keep some stability in our lives, for setting up these challenges.
Female age 62 5' 4” - Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and have gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then; I don't want to gain any more, but would like to get back to my goal weight – I'm working at it – it's a permanent way of life !
Goal for this round – I really need to take myself in hand and get a move on, these extra pounds are settling on me too easily and I don't like it; but I've only got myself to blame. So I need to try to lose 1.5 pounds ! Our bathroom is being refurbished now for the next 3 weeks; miles will be more difficult to achieve whilst the workmen are here, but I'll try to get an hour or so in before they arrive and then some in the evening around commitments with MIL's care. Thanks for running the challenge, @GrandmaJackie.
Last round my weight was all over the place. My plan is to have 1,000 calorie deficits Monday-Friday (and consume fewer than 100 grams net carbs) and eat at maintenance Saturday and Sunday (with more carbs). I find this to be a sustainable plan for me. Usually it means favourable results overall and my lowest weigh in days tend to be Fridays and my highest are on Mondays. We'll see what happens this round. Best of luck to everyone and thank you to all of the 10 Day Challengers for the support and inspiration. You are an amazing bunch of people.

08/05 202. I am 1.4 pounds down from yesterday which is good. I guess that means that I was still retaining water. I'm still 2.4 pounds heavier than my lowest weight last round, so I'm hoping to be at or below that at some point this round. I'm interested to see what happens.

08/05: 205.8 / It’s great to kick off a new round. This morning’s weigh-in ties my low for the year 2020. I got below this in 2019 before the holiday season kicked in. All I can say is, it will be a fight from here on if I want to touch 199 this year. Challenge starting tonight! A good friend invited me fishing this evening, followed by a late dinner at one of our favorite greasy spoons. (not sure if all our international friends know what a “greasy spoon” is. Ha! Is it a global term?) Maybe I will set a mini goal of avoiding the French Fries. (chips, crisps)

08/05 - 322.4 - I always put some back on after an *eat* day. Usually much more than this. Hopefully, this is a good sign for a good loss this round. Instead of driving to a couple of local shops, I walked this morning. Wearing minimalist shoes has shortened my stride and I'm not having any knee trouble now, which is another really good thing.

Lightbulb moment! I had a sonic blast with the kids yesterday as a treat - I'm lactose sensitive and my lactose pills (prescription) aren't the strongest and only help a little. Went on a run this morning, made the girl and I a fried egg sandwich (small spritz of olive oil to fry up the egg and some toast for carb replenishment -- lets not ruin that run!), chugged the rest of my water bottle, and weighed immediately after. Down to 155.2lbs. So even after food and water intake, I'm lower weight than my fully empty stomach first thing in the morning weigh-in. It was puuuure bloat from the lactose overload! I had completely forgotten about our little treat we had until I was eating breakfast.5

I LOVE Mount Rainier!! I went there once when I was up for my medical board review and had an afternoon off -- it was so beautiful! Definitely would love to see it again (it was partially blocked off for construction when I went and only 1 shop/viewing area open at the time but it was still worth it)4 -

About me:I love learning about food and everything about it; from the way it acts in the body to learning to cook a new recipe. I went to school for nutrition (got my bachelor's) but I didn’t become an RD because it didn’t feel like the path for me. I guess I wanted to keep it as more of an interest instead of a career. I then went into public health to further my education and I currently help medically complex patients by connecting them with community resources to improve their health and life. I’m here because when I’m not paying attention to what I eat, I start to gain and feel uncomfortable in my body. For me that results in frustration and a lot of other emotions. It has also increased my cholesterol in the past (It’s good now as far as I know thanks to diet and exercise). I have a family history of diabetes, heart disease, and all that fun stuff. So, I want to prevent that for myself by getting a hold of my food habits now.

08/05 114.8 Sweet 😊. I went for a really nice but sleep deprived walk this morning around 6 to destress, after waking up at 1:30 this morning to find out my mother in law was heading to the ER (heard abnormal footsteps upstairs and checked on in laws to make sure everything was okay.). She’s stable but weak. Hoping they can get some TPN going to get some nutrition in her.
On the bright side, it is was a nice afternoon yesterday and I realized how much I’m used the sweetness of fruit versus candy. After having my soft serve ice cream with Reese’s peanut butter cups and cookie dough mixed in, I was only able to get through about 2/3 of the cup before it became sickeningly sweet. I feel like I could live without ice cream for a while after having that yesterday.
Baking some chicken legs drizzled with a basil chimichurri tonight for dinner with some CSA veggies on the side. Looking forward to it!
