On the topic of shoes, anytime someone asks me "What are the best shoes to wear while running?" I tell them that it's very individual. What works for me may not work for you, and you just have to go try some on and see what feels good. Running stores can help fit you.

    This.

Brooks Ghost is a neutral shoe, with high cushioning and a whooping 12mm drop. If I put them on (not sure they come in mens) it would feel like I was wearing high heels compared to my current 4mm drop. Also, I tend towards less cushioning, so without even trying these on, I know I would not like them.

The weather was great for a run this morning. The humidity had dropped a bit and the temp was in the low 60sF. I did a 30-minute weight conditioning class while waiting for it to start getting daylight out because I couldn’t find my headlamp or my handheld and I’m also a bit of a chicken. I headed out the door around 6:15 and although the sky was a pretty orange to the east, the sun had not quite made it above the horizon.

@marisap2010 – glad for the negative test. I hope you get to feeling better soon.

@polksagirl01 – I have shoe envy for your reserve stock! And your ability to travel. I think that’s what I’ve missed the most this year.

I always look forward to your pictures @mbaker566 – thanks for sharing.

    Happy Running Everyone!

@mbaker566 Looks like a great trail. Love the pictures.

@PastorVincent I'm not sure either. Maybe just an "Yes it is. I've had it for x years and it's a real life saver."

Shorter run since it was leg day for weight lifting. Tomorrow I'm aiming for a 3 mile run as it's a rest day from weights. :#

So, the street that my house is on is obviously the road I run down the most. I mean I have to use it to leave the house AND return after all. So I have been running on this street at least a couple times a week for a couple years before the pandemic, and 4-5 times a week since the pandemic. So really all the people on the street should be used to me running by now, right?

A couple days ago I was walking back up the hill after my run and sucking down my water from my Wunjo, and this guy calls out really loud. "It's a water bag!" several times.

I choose to ignore him and keep walking. Still unsure what the response should be.

I ignore all rude and inappropriate comments and comments that make no sense. Friendly and pleasant comment get a smile or a quick ‘thanks’.
