I saw relatives tonight I haven't seen since Christmas, 90# ago. It was great to hear their compliments.23

Somewhat scale related, but as of this morning I’m no longer obese but officially Overweight according to the BMI scale!25

Proper NSV: stopped using a bath sheet and instead used a regular size towel to wrap myself after my shower.29

Slowly working my way back up to a 10k run - we're now just half a mile off, my son and I. We run a little further every day - when I say a little, I mean a little, we just add a few more metres to each run but over time it's making a difference and my legs are not hating me as much as when I first did a 10k.
But, the big thing for me about running at the moment is that I can now hold a conversation whilst running. I have never been able to do that, in the three years I've been running so up until now it's been mainly listening to my son chattering whilst we run, with the occasional exhaled grunt from me. The advice was to run slower but if I'd run any slower I wouldn't have been moving at all. But now I suddenly find that I can hold a proper conversation and run at the same time. I'm not running fast but who cares about that apart from me (and the abusive woman in the park who claims that her dog doesn't like slow-moving people. So it clearly doesn't like anyone who walks then as I do run faster than most people can walk. So why not put it on a lead?).26 -
Climbing regular hill on road bike and wondered why my pace was so much higher. Realised I've lost the equivalent of 10 x full water bottles...20

Good for you. (I do love my bath sheets though!)

Size 10 jeans at last, so happy. They're stretchy so I seriously doubt that I'm a size 10 everywhere!

Going two weeks so far, no binge. This is huge for me! Ideally, I'd love to find myself binge-free for a year's time if not indefinitely.23

I took a morning walk. I am focused on my veggies today. I cooked a bunch of veggies.17

Hiked 4.5 miles today! We got a little lost and got an extra mile and a half in. Tbh it was hard in hot weather and since I’ve focused more on lifting, my cardio fitness has been way down. So glad to know I could get this done! Would definitely do again in cooler weather.18

Instead of my mom offering me clothes because they are too big for her, she is holding back a pair of jeans for me because they are too snug! She’s never been overly ugly about my weight, but would make comments because “she loves me and is worried” (5’4”, 4 children in 5.5 years, post partum depression, autoimmune mess, 25/30 lbs up and down over the years... mostly UP the last few).21

Two NSV’s, one is quite surprising to me:
1) I can feel muscle definition and maybe see some tiny thigh muscles coming out!
2) I was adding my workouts to my calendar and actually got excited about the fact I’m waking up at 6AM to jump around, lift moderately heavy things, and get really sweaty. Never thought I’d be excited to wake up early and workout. But I can’t wait! (It’s taken me working out every week day since May 1 to look forward to it - practise i guess is key).21 -
Made a nearly 12 mile trail ride on Saturday. During which I hit a few tails that have advance obstetrical that I had not tried yet.

As of today, My non scale victory is that I went from a size 9-10 pants to a 7! My BMI is 1.8 from being in the "normal range" and my body fat is in the "acceptable" range (higher end)15

The weather is starting to turn here (and there were yellow leaves on my running path today) so I decided to do a quick check on the coats in my closet.
48EU esprit coat (double breasted) that wouldn’t go over my arms last winter? Perfect fit, no straining anywhere. Could wear on bike or when having to teach arms above my head.
16UK outdoor jacket, zipped (mountain warehouse) - slightly tight at the very bottom when doubled with its removable fleece. Could wear strolling but maybe not to sit down/bike.
16UK skirted trench coat, also double breasted (love this, a relic of my last weight loss journey and haven’t gotten to wear it much) - the top section of the button strain a a little bit. It will probably be perfect by the time October rolls around.
Last winter’s 22UK coat? Needs to be retired 😂

Apparently big/oversized jackets are on trend this Fall/Winter so perhaps get a shorter wool belt and rock it like it's on purpose? lol
Also, good on you for being so organized about your wardrobe!!

NSV: I'm getting better at ignoring minor signs of hunger, especially in the evening before bed. I'm used to being unable to get to sleep if there's even the slightest bit of hunger, but now I can do it if I'm up to the "moderately peckish" category. Even if I get seriously hungry at bedtime (which hasn't happened in a while) I can take care of it with a couple ounces of cottage cheese, which is another NSV.17

I couldn’t get these pants over my thighs, let alone fasten them, at the beginning of the year.
Today, I struggled to keep them on.

this is a major victory. keep going! : )4 -
All of a sudden last night I saw the outlines of my upper arms under the skin billows and remaining fat. That's new!16

And another one just now. When we moved, we were asked to leave our curtain rods, including the lovely light-blocking rods that let me make my bedroom pitch dark even in the middle of the day when a migraine hits. The new house had blinds, but they don't light block much. So I bought curtain rods again and got ready to hang the old light blocking curtains in the new house.
It's amazing how much easier it is to go up and down that ladder and how much less worn out I am (not at all, really) now. Of course, I'm not surprised; I'm hauling 43 less pounds up and down than I was last year.20 -
Carrying my dog upstairs got so much easier. He's a 13 pound rescue Maltese, and didn't know what stairs were when I adopted him. We're working on that.
Back in May, when I restarted my WL journey, it was so hard to catch my breath after climbing to the 3rd floor after our walk. My HR was 130 I felt lightheaded from exertion with my mask on. Last night, after losing 31 pounds I flew him up the stairs from the garage, which is another floor down, and my HR at the top was 80. I also might have been making airplane noises
Guess it helps that he dropped a couple of pounds too29 -
@Mithridites yay! I think I remember you saying something about this so it’s so awesome to hear! And sounds like your pup has one fun human!
Today I realized that summer is almost over and I hadn’t tried to wear my one summer dress I got last year that was too tight in May. I’ve been wearing it all day! The buttons still pull a bit but not an uncomfortable amount. Here’s my awkward pic.

I bought a Costco sized bag of macadamia nuts because I thought I could handle it ... I couldn't. I almost cried as I put about $5 worth of macadamia nuts down the garbage disposal instead of eating them, but that was my NSV!!24

I finally figured out the sweet spot of my calorie intake that allows me to see progress at a rate that feels (and is) successful yet doesn’t cause me to feel like trash in the day.
I can’t even begin to state enough how weird of a puzzle this has been for me (and therefore how excited I am about the whole thing). I don’t know if it’s age or hormone fluctuations after 3 kids but what worked for me after child number 2 has been a total crapshoot for the last 2yrs, since having child number 3. So I guess the second NSV is that I’m not viewing these last 2yrs as a “waste” but instead I’m acknowledging the (small) progress that does exist and choosing to celebrate having finally figured out what this version of me needs.27 -
I’ve tucked my shirt into my trousers. Remains to be seen whether I actually feel good wearing it out of the house, but leaving the shirt loose just looks comical...
Are these the size 46 trousers that were far from closing a month ago? Why yes they are22
