@CamandJarvis and ALL I urge you to read Life in the Fasting Lane. I’ve learned so much in the first 40 or 50 pages! I have added it to my next Amazon order. I have such an urge to highlight passages but this is a library book. 🥴4

9/4 115.5 Just learned that DGS#1 is coming home this weekend. He works and goes to school in Phoenix.
9/5 116.0
9/6 117.0 No TMI x 2 days. High carb day yesterday. Margaritas! Going to the neighbors’ for ??dinner?? at 5. Later than we usually eat and no idea what it will be plus she will be sure to send home leftovers - I understand it is a Filipino custom.
9/7 118.0 I track Monday morning weigh ins in another group and noticed this morning that this is the 4th first Monday of the month that I have been 118.0 What an odd coincidence!
9/8 119.0 I expected the carb loaded weekend to catch up. Did not sleep well. Out to lunch with the ladies today.
9/9 117.0 I had steak instead of gyro meat, no pita, but ate some of the fries. Trying to fast until tomorrow morning at 7:30 - 36 hours. If I post that goal in enough places, maybe I’ll be able to make it!
9/10 116.0 I’ve made it to 36+ hours of fasting. I feel so good! Had one brief period of hunger right before the 24 hour mark. I’m reading a book about fasting and in the little I have read, I have learned so much about it. All the good things it does for your body. Going for 42 hours now since I’m not at all hungry!
9/11 116.5 My fast lasted 38.5 hours. I will do one next week and make 42 my goal. I feel so good about this!
9/12 115.5 I just added Happy Scale to my phone. No real reason except I wanted to see what it would do with the milestone weights I entered - going back to my highest weight in January, 2008. This is day 2 of the new headache. I’m calling it a migraine caused by the smoke. I feel so bad for people on the west coast.

ROUND 125
I’m a 5’ 8”, 45 yo Mom of 2 young ones. The lockdown had me squeaking toward 200, so I knew I had to start taking better care of myself!
Original SW: 196.2 lb (6/11/20)
GOAL Weight: 165 lb
Total weight loss to date: 17.3 lb

Round 125 SW: 178.9 (on 9/3/20)
09/04 – 178.6 – I had a piece of celebration cake yesterday and eliminated some of the other carbs I had planned for the day. The substitute seems to have worked.
09/05 – 179.1 – It’s that TOM, I know I ate more sodium, and my hands feel puffy today. Yep, water retention!
09/06 – 179.1 – Not too bad considering that yesterday I caved into stress and emotional eating. I guess I didn’t overdo it as bad as I thought?
09/07 – 178.5 – I finally feels like I am settling into the 170s and can say goodbye to the 180s!!
09/08 – 178.4 – I wasn’t able to get all of my steps in yesterday, but I met my calorie goal.
09/09 – 178.7 – Seems a little bit of a fluctuation. I managed my 3 goals of calories, steps and water yesterday, but I feel so scattered this week it’s all I can do to hold onto those 3 goals.
09/10 – 177.7 – Today is my weekly weigh-in day, so I was extra careful yesterday. 175 was the weight I settled into for the previous many years, so it’s nice to be in sight of it again.
09/11 – 177.8 – Tired. Tired and hungry for the last few days….
09/12 – 178.2 – Not bad considering that I got take-out lunch yesterday to “refeed”

5’5 55yo F. Thank you@GrandmaJackie!
Sept. 2018 - 187
Goal -150 Alcohol only on weekends, exercise daily, plenty of water, no bread.
Starting weight: 9/3-162
9/4-162-Biked 9 miles. Glad it’s Friday.
9/5-159–I ate a light sensible dinner, which is what I used to do, plenty of protein all day. Walked 5 miles.
9/6-DNW-Only walked a mile, went to a cocktail party, lots of fun food. It will be very hot here, short walk after Zoom church.
9/7–161-BBQed ribs, not much of a walk. Hot again today....
9/8-161-Short walk, BBQed again.
9/12-160-I haven’t been posting or recording my weight because I’ve been stuck inside the house due to the smokey air. The handyman was here all week working on my sewing room cabinets and he is a joy to have around. I have been sewing a lot and am cutting out fabric for a quilting class I signed up for on Monday. I regret signing up for this because I will have to wear a mask the whole time I am in the class and I feel like I can’t breathe with it on (claustrophobic). Sorry for complaining.9 -

09/04 …..211.3 ….. Hopefully a fluctuation. Good luck everyone this round!
09/05 …..211.2 ….. Like a pot slowly simmering but never boiling. Life will be rough around here until Christmas (at least) but I will stay engaged even if I’m not laser focused. I love this group and will not give up on myself!
09/06 …..211.2 …..
09/07 …..211.8 ….. Late night eating. Was ravenous. Today will be lots of cabin cleaning so I hope to burn it all off again.
09/08 …..211.6 ….. Finished working yesterday then I went to visit my daughter who was camping locally with my grandson. It was his first camping trip (2 yrs old). It was very cold and rain expected last night. I didn’t eat too much yesterday but there was the cheeseburger and chips at the campground. Today is very very cold and gloomy. What strange weather, even for northern Michigan!
09/09 …..211.4 ….. Out of town yesterday for a 6 hour gig getting a corner desk for my son from Facebook. Our towns are few and far between so it is always an all day and several hundred mile jaunt for anything in my area. Took some heavy lifters with me and provided them with a very nice meal at a far-away restaurant. Food was delicious though not exactly low carb. I watched it for the rest of the evening and it paid off on the scale. Even if I have to inch my way down, I am determined to do what I can during this horribly confusing and trying time in my life. Relief will come, I just don’t know when. In the meantime, I’m doing the happy dance that the scale is moving back down.
09/10 …..211.4 …..
09/11 …..212.2 …..
09/12 …..211.6….. Wow! I couldn’t get onto the communities. I guess MFP was aware. I was blocked off from mid-day the 10th until now. I will catch up on posts asap.

Female, Age 50, 5'4"
Highest Weight = 181.4
Ultimate Goal Weight = 134
Round 124 = 173.4 (4.6 lbs lost)
Round 125 Goal: I will be going to the beach next week, so my plan is to hopefully maintain through that & not gain. Would love to be under 170 when this round ends but not sure that is doable with a vacation in the mix.
Day/Weight/Comment:
09/04: 172.7 (down .7 from yesterday) Happy with this drop to start this round! Yesterday was my 4th day this week AF, I don't think I will have a drink until we are at the beach next week. Trying to bank some good losses before then! Up for today is a run and cooking a nice dinner tonight, last night was kind of a scavenger hunt for something to make, so my body is craving a real meal tonight.
09/05: 172.6 (down .1 from yesterday) A loss is a loss, so I'll take it! Yesterday was my last day at work before vacation & I was chained to my desk all day for an additional 3+ hours to get everything in order before taking off next week, so never got my planned lunch hour run in or even lunch for that matter. ( I telecommute from home to my office, so usually I can get a work out in on my lunch hour) Today my daughter and I are off on a little road trip to pick up a FB Marketplace find so will be in the car most of the day. Hopefully will be back in time to get a run in and water the lawn before dinner prep begins.
09/06: 171.6 (down 1 lbs from yesterday) A little low on calories yesterday from being in the car for an extended time & my fast lasted 18 hours instead of the usual 16. Got my run in when I got home and was just as fast solo as my last run where my husband really pushed my pace, so progress! Feel the need for super protein today, so planning a steak for dinner + maybe asparagus to go with it. So much to do today, 100 million loads of laundry, packing everything for the beach, meal planning for the week, grocery shopping (staying in a house & taking all the non-perishable with us as just a small market nearby there). And really would like to get another run in today if there is time. Yesterday was my 6th day this week AF (yay!) but need to head to the liquor store today, planning some festive (yet low calorie) alcoholic drinks for the vacay.
09/07: 171.8 (up .2 lbs from yesterday) Slight uptick on this scale this morning, just a normal fluctuation but did weigh in a bit earlier this morning. Had no time to get a run in yesterday but that's okay, my goal is 3 runs a week right now, so yesterday would've just been a bonus run. Fasting yesterday was 20 hours due to being super busy running errands to leave town and 90% of my calories came from dinner. It was on the higher end of my allowed range but still at a deficit. Yesterday marked 7 days AF, hoping to get 4 days AF this new week. I *think* I'm in a good place to stay on track (maintain) at the beach. It is only 4 days and we are still social distancing so plan on cooking in every night except one. I've meal planned and already pre-logged in my dinners (with dessert) and adult beverages to MFP, so as long as I stick to those I should be okay. Cooking out tonight with hot dogs & corn on the grill, plus making coleslaw and a strawberry buttermilk cake. Looking forward to a nicely chilled glass of rosé to top off the day! Happy Labor Day to everyone in the US!
09/08: DNW (Beach) Stayed on the low end of my calories yesterday, 20+ hours fasting, and going with one meal a day (OMAD) whole at the beach. I had wine pre-logged into my calories to enjoy after dinner but didn't even want it, so that makes day 8 AF. On plan for tonight to cook is Tacos, peach cobbler with homemade vanilla ice cream, and Margaritas. I will have a Margarita! Will not weigh in again until Friday morning, I meant to pack my scale but forgot it. I'll still daily check in to keep myself accountable for the choices I make.
09/09: DNW (Beach) Mid range on my calories yesterday (still a deficit), 20+ hours fasting & OMAD. Spent the morning on the beach and then the afternoon had lots and lots of walking. Had 2 Margaritas after dinner that fit into my calories. So delicious but woke up with the puffiest eyes! We are getting BBQ take-out tonight, I've looked at their online menu and pre-logged into MFP as best as I can (not a chain so no exact MFP entries). I think I'll still be in a deficit. No running so far, I think I'll save my 3 weekly runs for Fri, Sat, Sunday when I get back home.
09/10: DNW (Beach) Went way, way over on calories yesterday. But it was just one day and while the scale will most likely go up, it was just one day and I know the scale will drop back down. Will be weighing in tomorrow morning and see where I am.
09/1: 172.3 (up .5 from Monday) Just a half pound up after returning home from the beach. I'll happily take that number! Don't think it's an actual gain, just the day 2 blip up from going over calories on Thursday, so it should bounce back down *hopefully* tomorrow. Either way, I'm still lower than I started this round and have 2 days to go to make some more progress. Yesterday was OMAD and that meal was lunch at 1 p.m. so currently in the midst of a 24 hour fast today, only 3.5 more hours to go. Will be running today, tomorrow, and Sunday.
09/12: 171.8 (down .5 from yesterday) Dropped back down to my exact pre-vacation weight, YAY! Just 1.9 lbs away from a major goal, mentally I just need to be under 170 lbs. Won't hit it this round but for I'll be going really hard for this goal next round! Got in a run yesterday and heading out shortly for another one. Great running weather, love the cooler September temps

9/4: 224.8 (+0.4)/20.1 (+0.1). My days have been really busy, and I'm finding it hard to find time to post right now. Just know that I'm still committed to this group, and to my journey toward health and fitness.
9/5: 224.4 (-0.4)/20.0 (-0.1). Thursday was my wife's birthday, and we had steak, wine, and chocolate-covered strawberries. Yesterday was apparently ALSO my wife's birthday, and she wanted to try gigantic breakfast burritos from a local restaurant. I did not eat lunch, and I barely snacked for dinner, because I was SO FULL from breakfast. I probably should have split the thing in two. TODAY is ALSO MY WIFE'S BIRTHDAY, as we're going to her family's home for some home-cooked deliciousness. What do I have to say for myself? So far, so good. It hasn't been perfect, but I'm minimizing the damage reasonably effectively. I'm also noticing, on my fifth challenge back, that the average body weight calculations I have been performing have actually been reasonably accurate, mirroring the program I've been using to graph my daily weight. I'm feeling pretty good today. (P.S. - I used my rowing machine yesterday for the first time in months)
9/6: 226.8 (+2.4)/20.3 (+0.3).
9/7: 227.2 (+0.4)/20.3 (+0.3).

9/9: 227.0 (-1.0)/20.4 (0.0).
9/10: 228.8 (+1.8)/20.5 (+0.1). It was really tempting not to come back here. The past five days have been terrible weight-wise, and they have been very difficult overall. Work has been getting worse, and yesterday was probably the worst day I have had there in five months. The trend graph I have been using reflects all this. All the ingredients are there for me to just give up, and disappear. I haven't actually considered it, but it feels important to acknowledge this reality. My eating has been $#!+, but as I like to tell my clients, every moment is an opportunity to turn things around. I've been here a couple of months, and I have had a lot of success so far. I KNOW what I need to do. Today is going to be the day that I turn things back around. Exercise is OUT for now, though; I'm a few miles from some very bad fires here in SoCal, and the air quality is terrible.
9/11: 226.2 (-2.6)/20.2 (-0.3). Better. This feels better. I was on-point with my food yesterday. Time to start thinking about the weekend. So far, all I have planned is my brother-in-law and his girlfriend coming over for dinner and the Laker game. Food should be good - we're going to order in from a place that has really good salads, and I'll go a little light on food earlier in the day. There will be some drinking, but I'll limit it hard liquor, and I'll limit it to the equivalent of two drinks at the most (I bought the wife a bunch of scotch for her birthday, and I'm going to host a "tasting" for her with her brother). I'm happy that I decided to stick around. It felt good coming back to post yesterday.
9/12: 224.4 (-1.8)/20.0 (-0.2). So wildfire air (the air quality in SoCal right now is HORRIBLE) is preventing my brother-in-law and his girlfriend from coming over tonight, which means there will be no temptation this weekend, which means that I officially get to complete the amazing comeback I have made in the past couple of days to "salvage the round." At worst I should end up at my starting weight or lower, which was all I hoped when I started this round. I had a BIG rough patch, but it was more about circumstances (my wife's birthday, and the state of the world) than me lacking motivation.

Thanks for the encouragement! I know I've said this before, but I'm not going anywhere. Any success I've had in the past four years related to weight loss/fitness has been when I have been in this group. I am a food addict, and when I am accountable, I can keep things under control.10 -

Round 123 (1): 179.8 to 176.4 (-3.4)
Round 124 (2): 176.4 to 170 (-6.4)
🏃 09/04:170.0 This was excpected because I ate fried chicken. I never lose weight if I eat that, so not gaining is actually a triumph despite eating poorly. I will eat better today.
🏃 09/05:169.4 Great day.
🏃 09/06:169.0 I'm still tracking and losing despite only tracking and not exercising. The lack of exercise is why my loss is slower.
🏃 09/07:169.8 Even though I stayed within my calorie limit at first, I stayed up too late. At around 2 AM, my husband got some Taco Bell, and I had one little taco. That was all it took to take away progress.
🏃 09/08::170.2 These numbers are going the wrong way, lol. I am not eating more than my limit. I do not want to reduce my calorie intake, so I better pick my Switch fitness games back up now. Maybe I should get the Boxing game to give myself some variety. It is harder to post here when I am not doing well, but I do not want to regain the 10 pounds I've lost, so I know it is important to be here.
🏃 09/09: 170.8 I did my Ring Fit Adventure yesterday, and I will play again today. At this point, I don't even care about the round goal. I just want to start going back down again!
🏃 09/10: 170.2 Well at least it's going back down!
🏃 09/11: 170.2 It didn't go down, so I'm not too disappointed. I know I'll break through this eventually! I got my boxing game today to add variety to my Switch Jump Rope Challenge, Ring Fit Adventure, and Just Dance. Ring Fit Adventure added planks as an exercise today and that hurt (in a good way)!
🏃 09/12: 168.8That wasn't expected at all. There isn't any way I will get to 167 tomorrow, but if I can hold my weight right here, I will be happy. Now, I have no doubt that my Ring Fit Adventure is helping me immensely. I expected to gain actually because last night I had accidentally went 300 calories over my limit. I had a bowl of chili instead of the cup that I had allocated. Luckily, it didn't harm anything!

Day/Weight/Comment
09/04 144.2 I'd like to see 143 this round. Happy with this as a starting point!
09/05 144.2 I usually plateau right before I lose, so if I can get through the weekend on track, I might be in for 143 or even 142 very soon. Funny how you can look forward to seeing numbers that once would have been upsetting. I was in the 120s in March, pre-quarantine. Sigh.
09/06 143.6 All right! Now I expect to toggle between 144/143 for a bit. With a week left in this round, I think I'm headed for a real loss this time. That would be encouraging more for what it represents: finally taking charge of my quarantine weight gain and moving closer to the maintenance weight I'd worked so hard to achieve last year.
09/07 142.4 Didn't expect this at all! Yesterday was one of the most stressful days I've experienced in the last few years. A family member had a medical emergency and required emergency treatment (they're okay, thankfully). I was briefly tempted to indulge in a treat I gave my kids, but reminded myself of something I'd read by some wise MFPer (I'd credit them if I could remember who it was): If hunger isn't the problem, food isn't the solution.
09/08 144.2 Not really viewing this as a setback. I had a ton of sodium yesterday. Stayed on track in calories, but all of it was take-out. Things should be calmer today, and I'll be able to eat at home. When the scale treats you to random gains for no apparent reason, it's good to keep in mind some of the reminders @TerriRichardson112 posts: "Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason. A general downward trend is what we are looking for."
And my downward trend is looking good, guys!
09/09 143.0 Yesterday was an odd eating day for sure. I tried a protein shake that I couldn't finish (both because it was super filling and gross), so I ended up with only 150 calories until dinnertime. Kind of OMAD-style, I had a lot more calories to 'spend' in the evening, which was fun. Ice cream after dinner, plus a mini Coke (90 calories of my favorite soda- a much more reasonable serving size in a cute little can!). And I was still under calories overall. Not an everyday strategy, but it worked out.
09/10 143.0 Actually ended up eating fairly similar to the day before. Protein shake was all I had time for. Would like to see 142 to end this round, but if not, I'll be there shortly. All I can do is control the process, not the resulting number on the scale.
09/11 142.6 A super motivating weigh- in headed into the weekend! My goal is to keep my precious 142. It's pizza night, and I will budget accordingly, as I did last night for a bacon guacamole burger and fries. Had half the burger and since I knew it was going to be such a heavy dinner, I skipped an afternoon snack and had only a few dark chocolates after dinner. Stayed in calories just fine.
09/12 141.0 Ah, interesting. I feel like some of this must be water weight, but not complaining!

Goal weight for this round: Somewhere in the lower 113-114 range. Will be thrilled if this happens because of where I’m at in the month.
Another goal: Embrace the scale fluctuations and not get flustered.
Previous days09/04 114.4 Got a soccer work out in this morning. Feeling sleepy and looking forward to the long holiday weekend. Having the Monday off will be nice and it’ll give me some extra time to cook something fun! I haven’t figured out what but I’m in the mood to experiment this weekend.
We had Bertucci’s delivered last night as a surprise from my father in law’s coworkers but it didn’t hit me too hard. It was a small piece of chicken parm, about 1 ½-2 cups spaghetti, salad, and a roll. I was full afterwards and didn’t feel icky…so that was good 😊. It didn’t make me retain too much water either, which was a plus for me. The meal train is dropping off a crustless quiche for dinner tonight which shouldn’t hurt the water retention either. I’ll just have to embrace the challenge of being ok with not knowing the calorie counts.
09/05 115.0 And up it goes. Meh, at least I know the time of the month that I am at my lowest weight. So, this is expected and I’m learning to embrace the fluctuations. The crustless quiche that was dropped off last night was delicious! It had spinach, basil, some sort of cheese mixed in and a layer of parmesan cheese on top. Tonight, for dinner we plan on making a homemade beef and broccoli dish with CSA broccoli and csa Flank steak. So that should be yummy too!
I plan on doing a spin bike workout this morning once my husband wakes up. Then, it’s most likely a chores day for me. Maybe we’ll go for a walk this morning too if he’s feeling energetic!
09/06 115.2 It’s been a great day so far. This morning my husband and I went for a nice 3ish mile walk and then I followed it up with a 45 minute spin bike workout from Youtube. Then, I got everything done I planned to do yesterday but had zero energy for. Yesterday, I didn’t end up exercising or doing any chores because I was just plain tired.
Today, I made a chorizo, pinto bean and brown rice stew in the pressure cooker. I used some Cajun seasoning, a little bit of onion, two baby bell peppers, ½ lb dried pinto beans, 1 cup dry brown rice, chicken broth, and 1lb of chorizo. First, I browned the chorizo and onion, then cooked the beans with the chorizo and chicken broth at high pressure for 27 minutes, then I added the rice to the beans and meat and cooked everything for another 22ish minutes. I didn’t measure the amount of chicken broth I used (I just eyeballed it). If I had to guess it was about 3-4 cups total of chicken broth. It made a total of 8 cups worth of food and I calculated it out as 2 cups is one serving = ~600 calories (588 if you want to get technical)
Earlier today, I got fancy and made us pancakes for breakfast. They were high fiber and my husband really liked them! .
09/07 114.6 I went for a really nice long walk this morning and multitasked on the phone by catching up with my mom, dad, and someone who is like another mom to me. It was perfect because it made the 8 miles fly by! I had a left-over pancake from yesterday for breakfast along with some fruit and yogurt. The only joking complaint my husband did end up having with the pancakes is that I “poisoned” him with all the fiber and he was tootin all day, lol! My belly is so used to it, it didn’t even bother me. We have a cookout planned with our immediate family today, so I will probably have a cheeseburger with corn on the cob, grilled eggplant, and some watermelon for dessert. I also have some cucumber salad planned for a snack in between. I’m sure I eat a few more things too because I have a good chunk of calories in green from my long walk.
I think the rest of the day will be a chill day laying on the bed with this cuddly fur ball 😊.
09/08 115.2 We went for a nice 5ish mile walk this morning and I ran the last mile of it. Cookout food went well last night, it was just a touch salty. Our CSA pick up was awesome yesterday! We got a big head of green cabbage for the first time, a gorgeous daikon radish and the biggest red radishes I’ve ever seen. We also got a couple of cute eggplants that I’m going to make a Crock-Pot Indian dish with them. There was even more produce that we got but I can’t remember everything. Today for breakfast/lunch, I plan on having the stew I made on Sunday and for a snack I’m going to make a microwave protein apple cake with one of the CSA apples we got. It’s usually a chocolate cake but I thought I would play with the recipe and add apple and applesauce to it with a few other spices. Then for dinner we are having steak tips and potatoes and salad for dinner. Have good day!
09/09 114.6 We did a good soccer workout this morning. Not too much excitement to report for today. I’m just looking forward to my fresh apples and nectarines to go with my yogurt and granola for breakfast today! Happy hump day!
09/10 114.4 5 mile walk completed this morning. Very sleepy today, woke up in the middle of the night and couldn’t fall back to sleep for a bit. Our apartment is still really warm and I can’t wait to have AC next summer. I never realized how much the heat affects my sleep until this year, even though we’ve been living in the same place for the past 6 or 7 years. Maybe as I edge towards 30 I notice it more? I don’t know but I do find myself a lot warmer than I used to be. Any who!
I have a Baignan Bharta recipe I want to make for dinner tonight to use up our abundance of eggplant and couple of tomatoes. It should be nice to have Indian food for a change! I think I’ll serve it with brown basmati rice and a salad. Then, watermelon for dessert!
Have a happy Thursday!
09/11 114.6 Did a killer soccer workout and pushed it extra hard this morning. I’ve been working on my breathing lately and I think it’s already making a difference in my workouts. Last night we had Chinese food delivered unexpectedly but it didn’t do too much damage. I will admit this is my weight post exercise today, because the food caused me to retain a full pound of water coming in at 115.4 first thing this morning. Because I knew it was pure water weight I was curious to see what my weight was post workout and it was back in the normal 114 range, so I went with the 114.6 it gave me post workout.
Switching up my breakfast this morning and making toast with a couple of eggs and cheese and the other slice of toast will have some peanut butter and apple slices on it. Then, my snack will be some fruit with yogurt and granola. Dinner will be the Baignan Bharta dish I talked about yesterday. I’m looking forward to the weekend…we will be checking on our bees to see if it’s time to harvest the honey! Happy Friday everyone!
09/12 114.0 My husband and I went for a really nice walk this morning in a conservation area near us. Then, when we got back I went for another walk on my own around the neighborhood because I just wanted some “me” time. The weather has been gorgeous today and it officially feels like September in New England. We ended up getting Buffalo Wild Wings take-out but with all the walking I did today, it wasn’t too bad calorically. The salt might do me in, but I’m drinking a good amount of water today, so hopefully, it won’t affect me too much tomorrow.
The Indian eggplant dish I made for dinner last night came out pretty good and dinner tonight will be those leftovers. For a snack before dinner I’ll have some fruit and yogurt to use up the last CSA pears and peaches. I have a cantaloupe to eat tomorrow and Monday before the next CSA pick-up. I think I’m going to try to find a cool cantaloupe recipe to make to switch up the way I’ve been eating it all summer. Have a good weekend!

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Day/Weight/Comment
09/04 - 141.5 - This won't last but, wow, I haven't seen this weight since early March. We have a family picnic planned for Sunday and I expect to eat more than usual, so I'm glad I seem to be at the low end of maintenance for now.
09/05 - 142.5 - This is not a surprise. I taste tested too much while I was baking for the picnic. I ate lighter today and I'm planning to enjoy tomorrow with food and a few drinks so I'll just hope I can keep it below 145 on Monday.
09/06 - 143
09/07 - 143
09/08 - 144 - Back to the office after a long weekend and lots of food and drink. I'm going to stay at weight loss calories and hope to get back down to 143 by the end of the round.
09/09 - 144 - I'm happy I haven't continued to bump up.
09/10 - 143.5 - Yay! I signed my husband and I up for our county "Fall Hiking Spree." We have 20 metroparks in our area with numerous trails. We have to hike 8 trails by November 30th and then we'll be given a hiking staff and a badge. It's something I've wanted to do for years, but we've been so busy we could never find the time. Thanks to Covid-19 we had to ease back on our social obligations, but that gives us time to see areas of our county that we have not visited and burn a few extra calories.
09/11 - 143.5 - I will track my calories this weekend.
09/12 - 144 - I tracked my calories right over maintenance.

4/9 127.7kg
Still going with a small bump. Sanded back a bedside table today, which took a surprising amount of effort. Back to the pool tomorrow.
5/9 128.0kg
Date night tonight so a bit over my calories, and too many carbs. But it was delicious, and it is important to me to be able to live with this way of life. And that includes occasionally going over.
6/9 128.2kg
Father's day, so another dinner out. Still trying to make ok choices, but it is much harder when you aren't cooking.
7/9 128.0kg
Finally back in the right direction. I will be happy if this round is a nil-all draw.
8/9 128.0kg
I'm still keeping up with things, so hoping that the numbers start favouring me again. But I'm feeling disheartened.
9/9 128.3kg
Still sitting really high. One foot in front of the other, one meal at a time. There is a reason I'm doing this, and I just have to keep it in mind.
10/9 128.4kg
Ugh. I'm hoping that water graphic was right, because this is so discouraging.
11/9 128.5kg
Keep going, keep going, keep going.
12/9 128.4kg
This is where I started last round. Looks like this one will undo the progress of last round.

Average for this round: 92.8, a loss on 0.5 kg from last round. I'm fine with that, although I think that it was mostly a reduction of salt, so it's not a fat loss mostly. I wasn't particularly hungry. I now need to go low carb fully which is something I've been half doing for a few weeks now.

09/05 142.6 lbs. 1,305 Calories, 6 Carbs, 4 Net Carbs, 7,633 steps and 30 minutes water aerobics. Low Carbs today because I need to go SHOPPING!!! As you can see my weight is up and down but not over my goal of 145 limit. This is what I call maintenance. It’s a work in progress! 🤗
09/06 142.6 lbs 1,582 Calories, 68 Carbs, 65 Net Carbs and 6,791 steps. Carbs higher but I feel they are healthy carbs. Had a nice southern Illinois peach with yogurt and veggies today. Calories higher due a Low Carb dessert.
09/07 142.0 lbs 1,448 Calories, 49 Carbs, 30 Net Carbs, and 12,918 steps.

09/11 141.8 lbs 1,328 Calories, 76 Carbs, 60 Net Carbs and 10,609 steps. Carbs are higher due to the ice cream I just couldn’t pass up! 🍦. But I did enjoy every bite!!. I always seem to do this at the end of each round. But I think it will be ok not over in Calories.
09/12 141.0 lbs 1,627 Calories, 43 Carbs, 31 Net Carbs and 2,938 steps. Not much exercise today. Trimmed bushes before the rain started. We are in a drought, this was a much needed rain under a 1/2 inch. The most we have had for a long time.

👍🏼👍🏼 This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE. 👍🏼👍🏼6 -
I'm in! Thank you, @GrandmaJackie!
70 year old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion... ...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.
We used to walk 5 miles a day. Recovered from back surgery then hip surgery!! Got back to walking then I sprained my ankle. UGH! hurt! I was down for 6 weeks with the ankle. THEN...I face planted on the sidewalk while walking. Messed up my face, wrist and knee...sigh...Must keep going, tho.
The Shelter in Place has everyone freaked. We need to remain calm and respectful of each other.
