Round 125
My Round 3!
Jillian Age 34 and 5'1"
HSW: 179.8
CSW: 170
GW: 130
Mini GW: 158 will get me out of the obesity category and into the overweight category according to the BMI.
RGW: 167
Round 123 (1): 179.8 to 176.4 (-3.4)
Round 124 (2): 176.4 to 170 (-6.4)
🏃 09/04:170.0 This was excpected because I ate fried chicken. I never lose weight if I eat that, so not gaining is actually a triumph despite eating poorly. I will eat better today.
🏃 09/05:169.4 Great day.
🏃 09/06:169.0 I'm still tracking and losing despite only tracking and not exercising. The lack of exercise is why my loss is slower.
🏃 09/07:169.8 Even though I stayed within my calorie limit at first, I stayed up too late. At around 2 AM, my husband got some Taco Bell, and I had one little taco. That was all it took to take away progress.
🏃 09/08::170.2 These numbers are going the wrong way, lol. I am not eating more than my limit. I do not want to reduce my calorie intake, so I better pick my Switch fitness games back up now. Maybe I should get the Boxing game to give myself some variety. It is harder to post here when I am not doing well, but I do not want to regain the 10 pounds I've lost, so I know it is important to be here.
🏃 09/09: 170.8 I did my Ring Fit Adventure yesterday, and I will play again today. At this point, I don't even care about the round goal. I just want to start going back down again!
🏃 09/10: 170.2 Well at least it's going back down!
🏃 09/11: 170.2 It didn't go down, so I'm not too disappointed. I know I'll break through this eventually! I got my boxing game today to add variety to my Switch Jump Rope Challenge, Ring Fit Adventure, and Just Dance. Ring Fit Adventure added planks as an exercise today and that hurt (in a good way)!
🏃 09/12: 168.8That wasn't expected at all. There isn't any way I will get to 167 tomorrow, but if I can hold my weight right here, I will be happy. Now, I have no doubt that my Ring Fit Adventure is helping me immensely. I expected to gain actually because last night I had accidentally went 300 calories over my limit. I had a bowl of chili instead of the cup that I had allocated. Luckily, it didn't harm anything!

09/04 144.2 I'd like to see 143 this round. Happy with this as a starting point!
09/05 144.2 I usually plateau right before I lose, so if I can get through the weekend on track, I might be in for 143 or even 142 very soon. Funny how you can look forward to seeing numbers that once would have been upsetting. I was in the 120s in March, pre-quarantine. Sigh.
09/06 143.6 All right! Now I expect to toggle between 144/143 for a bit. With a week left in this round, I think I'm headed for a real loss this time. That would be encouraging more for what it represents: finally taking charge of my quarantine weight gain and moving closer to the maintenance weight I'd worked so hard to achieve last year.
09/07 142.4 Didn't expect this at all! Yesterday was one of the most stressful days I've experienced in the last few years. A family member had a medical emergency and required emergency treatment (they're okay, thankfully). I was briefly tempted to indulge in a treat I gave my kids, but reminded myself of something I'd read by some wise MFPer (I'd credit them if I could remember who it was): If hunger isn't the problem, food isn't the solution.
09/08 144.2 Not really viewing this as a setback. I had a ton of sodium yesterday. Stayed on track in calories, but all of it was take-out. Things should be calmer today, and I'll be able to eat at home. When the scale treats you to random gains for no apparent reason, it's good to keep in mind some of the reminders @TerriRichardson112 posts: "Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason. A general downward trend is what we are looking for."
And my downward trend is looking good, guys!
09/09 143.0 Yesterday was an odd eating day for sure. I tried a protein shake that I couldn't finish (both because it was super filling and gross), so I ended up with only 150 calories until dinnertime. Kind of OMAD-style, I had a lot more calories to 'spend' in the evening, which was fun. Ice cream after dinner, plus a mini Coke (90 calories of my favorite soda- a much more reasonable serving size in a cute little can!). And I was still under calories overall. Not an everyday strategy, but it worked out.
09/10 143.0 Actually ended up eating fairly similar to the day before. Protein shake was all I had time for. Would like to see 142 to end this round, but if not, I'll be there shortly. All I can do is control the process, not the resulting number on the scale.
09/11 142.6 A super motivating weigh- in headed into the weekend! My goal is to keep my precious 142. It's pizza night, and I will budget accordingly, as I did last night for a bacon guacamole burger and fries. Had half the burger and since I knew it was going to be such a heavy dinner, I skipped an afternoon snack and had only a few dark chocolates after dinner. Stayed in calories just fine.
09/12 141.0 Ah, interesting. I feel like some of this must be water weight, but not complaining!

Goal weight for this round: Somewhere in the lower 113-114 range. Will be thrilled if this happens because of where I’m at in the month.
Another goal: Embrace the scale fluctuations and not get flustered.
Previous days09/04 114.4 Got a soccer work out in this morning. Feeling sleepy and looking forward to the long holiday weekend. Having the Monday off will be nice and it’ll give me some extra time to cook something fun! I haven’t figured out what but I’m in the mood to experiment this weekend.
We had Bertucci’s delivered last night as a surprise from my father in law’s coworkers but it didn’t hit me too hard. It was a small piece of chicken parm, about 1 ½-2 cups spaghetti, salad, and a roll. I was full afterwards and didn’t feel icky…so that was good 😊. It didn’t make me retain too much water either, which was a plus for me. The meal train is dropping off a crustless quiche for dinner tonight which shouldn’t hurt the water retention either. I’ll just have to embrace the challenge of being ok with not knowing the calorie counts.
09/05 115.0 And up it goes. Meh, at least I know the time of the month that I am at my lowest weight. So, this is expected and I’m learning to embrace the fluctuations. The crustless quiche that was dropped off last night was delicious! It had spinach, basil, some sort of cheese mixed in and a layer of parmesan cheese on top. Tonight, for dinner we plan on making a homemade beef and broccoli dish with CSA broccoli and csa Flank steak. So that should be yummy too!
I plan on doing a spin bike workout this morning once my husband wakes up. Then, it’s most likely a chores day for me. Maybe we’ll go for a walk this morning too if he’s feeling energetic!
09/06 115.2 It’s been a great day so far. This morning my husband and I went for a nice 3ish mile walk and then I followed it up with a 45 minute spin bike workout from Youtube. Then, I got everything done I planned to do yesterday but had zero energy for. Yesterday, I didn’t end up exercising or doing any chores because I was just plain tired.
Today, I made a chorizo, pinto bean and brown rice stew in the pressure cooker. I used some Cajun seasoning, a little bit of onion, two baby bell peppers, ½ lb dried pinto beans, 1 cup dry brown rice, chicken broth, and 1lb of chorizo. First, I browned the chorizo and onion, then cooked the beans with the chorizo and chicken broth at high pressure for 27 minutes, then I added the rice to the beans and meat and cooked everything for another 22ish minutes. I didn’t measure the amount of chicken broth I used (I just eyeballed it). If I had to guess it was about 3-4 cups total of chicken broth. It made a total of 8 cups worth of food and I calculated it out as 2 cups is one serving = ~600 calories (588 if you want to get technical)
Earlier today, I got fancy and made us pancakes for breakfast. They were high fiber and my husband really liked them! .
09/07 114.6 I went for a really nice long walk this morning and multitasked on the phone by catching up with my mom, dad, and someone who is like another mom to me. It was perfect because it made the 8 miles fly by! I had a left-over pancake from yesterday for breakfast along with some fruit and yogurt. The only joking complaint my husband did end up having with the pancakes is that I “poisoned” him with all the fiber and he was tootin all day, lol! My belly is so used to it, it didn’t even bother me. We have a cookout planned with our immediate family today, so I will probably have a cheeseburger with corn on the cob, grilled eggplant, and some watermelon for dessert. I also have some cucumber salad planned for a snack in between. I’m sure I eat a few more things too because I have a good chunk of calories in green from my long walk.
I think the rest of the day will be a chill day laying on the bed with this cuddly fur ball 😊.
09/08 115.2 We went for a nice 5ish mile walk this morning and I ran the last mile of it. Cookout food went well last night, it was just a touch salty. Our CSA pick up was awesome yesterday! We got a big head of green cabbage for the first time, a gorgeous daikon radish and the biggest red radishes I’ve ever seen. We also got a couple of cute eggplants that I’m going to make a Crock-Pot Indian dish with them. There was even more produce that we got but I can’t remember everything. Today for breakfast/lunch, I plan on having the stew I made on Sunday and for a snack I’m going to make a microwave protein apple cake with one of the CSA apples we got. It’s usually a chocolate cake but I thought I would play with the recipe and add apple and applesauce to it with a few other spices. Then for dinner we are having steak tips and potatoes and salad for dinner. Have good day!
09/09 114.6 We did a good soccer workout this morning. Not too much excitement to report for today. I’m just looking forward to my fresh apples and nectarines to go with my yogurt and granola for breakfast today! Happy hump day!
09/10 114.4 5 mile walk completed this morning. Very sleepy today, woke up in the middle of the night and couldn’t fall back to sleep for a bit. Our apartment is still really warm and I can’t wait to have AC next summer. I never realized how much the heat affects my sleep until this year, even though we’ve been living in the same place for the past 6 or 7 years. Maybe as I edge towards 30 I notice it more? I don’t know but I do find myself a lot warmer than I used to be. Any who!
I have a Baignan Bharta recipe I want to make for dinner tonight to use up our abundance of eggplant and couple of tomatoes. It should be nice to have Indian food for a change! I think I’ll serve it with brown basmati rice and a salad. Then, watermelon for dessert!
Have a happy Thursday!
09/11 114.6 Did a killer soccer workout and pushed it extra hard this morning. I’ve been working on my breathing lately and I think it’s already making a difference in my workouts. Last night we had Chinese food delivered unexpectedly but it didn’t do too much damage. I will admit this is my weight post exercise today, because the food caused me to retain a full pound of water coming in at 115.4 first thing this morning. Because I knew it was pure water weight I was curious to see what my weight was post workout and it was back in the normal 114 range, so I went with the 114.6 it gave me post workout.
Switching up my breakfast this morning and making toast with a couple of eggs and cheese and the other slice of toast will have some peanut butter and apple slices on it. Then, my snack will be some fruit with yogurt and granola. Dinner will be the Baignan Bharta dish I talked about yesterday. I’m looking forward to the weekend…we will be checking on our bees to see if it’s time to harvest the honey! Happy Friday everyone!
09/12 114.0 My husband and I went for a really nice walk this morning in a conservation area near us. Then, when we got back I went for another walk on my own around the neighborhood because I just wanted some “me” time. The weather has been gorgeous today and it officially feels like September in New England. We ended up getting Buffalo Wild Wings take-out but with all the walking I did today, it wasn’t too bad calorically. The salt might do me in, but I’m drinking a good amount of water today, so hopefully, it won’t affect me too much tomorrow.
The Indian eggplant dish I made for dinner last night came out pretty good and dinner tonight will be those leftovers. For a snack before dinner I’ll have some fruit and yogurt to use up the last CSA pears and peaches. I have a cantaloupe to eat tomorrow and Monday before the next CSA pick-up. I think I’m going to try to find a cool cantaloupe recipe to make to switch up the way I’ve been eating it all summer. Have a good weekend!

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Day/Weight/Comment
09/04 - 141.5 - This won't last but, wow, I haven't seen this weight since early March. We have a family picnic planned for Sunday and I expect to eat more than usual, so I'm glad I seem to be at the low end of maintenance for now.
09/05 - 142.5 - This is not a surprise. I taste tested too much while I was baking for the picnic. I ate lighter today and I'm planning to enjoy tomorrow with food and a few drinks so I'll just hope I can keep it below 145 on Monday.
09/06 - 143
09/07 - 143
09/08 - 144 - Back to the office after a long weekend and lots of food and drink. I'm going to stay at weight loss calories and hope to get back down to 143 by the end of the round.
09/09 - 144 - I'm happy I haven't continued to bump up.
09/10 - 143.5 - Yay! I signed my husband and I up for our county "Fall Hiking Spree." We have 20 metroparks in our area with numerous trails. We have to hike 8 trails by November 30th and then we'll be given a hiking staff and a badge. It's something I've wanted to do for years, but we've been so busy we could never find the time. Thanks to Covid-19 we had to ease back on our social obligations, but that gives us time to see areas of our county that we have not visited and burn a few extra calories.
09/11 - 143.5 - I will track my calories this weekend.
09/12 - 144 - I tracked my calories right over maintenance.

4/9 127.7kg
Still going with a small bump. Sanded back a bedside table today, which took a surprising amount of effort. Back to the pool tomorrow.
5/9 128.0kg
Date night tonight so a bit over my calories, and too many carbs. But it was delicious, and it is important to me to be able to live with this way of life. And that includes occasionally going over.
6/9 128.2kg
Father's day, so another dinner out. Still trying to make ok choices, but it is much harder when you aren't cooking.
7/9 128.0kg
Finally back in the right direction. I will be happy if this round is a nil-all draw.
8/9 128.0kg

09/12 141.0 lbs 1,627 Calories, 43 Carbs, 31 Net Carbs and 2,938 steps. Not much exercise today. Trimmed bushes before the rain started. We are in a drought, this was a much needed rain under a 1/2 inch. The most we have had for a long time.

70 year old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion... ...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.
We used to walk 5 miles a day. Recovered from back surgery then hip surgery!! Got back to walking then I sprained my ankle. UGH! hurt! I was down for 6 weeks with the ankle. THEN...I face planted on the sidewalk while walking. Messed up my face, wrist and knee...sigh...Must keep going, tho.
The Shelter in Place has everyone freaked. We need to remain calm and respectful of each other.

09/07 - 73.8 - Round start weight
09/08 - 73.9 - Judo yesterday so probably retaining all the water although I'm not feeling that sore today, which is eternally worrying. Calories were under before the exercise calories so I've got a nice buffer for the rest of the week. Feeling very tired today, so not looking forward to my expenditure value for today.
09/09 - 73.5 - Well that's more like it. Yesterday was a pretty lazy day to be honest. I had a couple of things planned and instead I spent most of the evening sitting on the sofa playing games. I was tired, sue me. Actually I still am tired. Trying to find the motivation to go for a run at lunch today (which was my plan and one of the reasons I'm WFH today). I ate fine yesterday though, so you know, not all bad
09/10 - 73.7 - High anxiety day yesterday and didn't end up going out for my run. Did a small bunch of other house tasks instead (and finally dyed my hair), but my activity was very low. However my eating was nice and low too, so my in/out was actually on track, and I ate pizza yesterday. So all in all a pretty okay day yesterday actually.
09/11 - 73.4 - Another good day. A fairly lazy day at work as I'm not particularly pressured for anything (unlike today when I think after lunch I'm going to be very busy). Got home and made a veggie lasagne. That's something that I hate gets tarnished with the "vegetarian version of something else" brush, because personally I never make a meat version, but I love cooking a veggie one. And they are very different dishes in my opinion, to me it's a bit like comparing a dalh with a Tikka Masala, although both "indian" curries, very different experiences. Anyway, comfort food on he highest level, but a very modest ~550kcals per portion. I probably should have left it in the oven another 5mins as the pasta was just a little bit under which is a shame. Even with my nibbling while cooking I was no where near my calorie allowance for the day and I was definitely full after dinner, so I'm expecting to be a little bit more hungry today.
09/12 - 73.3 - Slightly surprisingly a good day. Was barely hungry for breakfast so only drank half my shake so when at three in the afternoon I started to feel a little snacky I finished it off for what felt like free calories (because it had already been logged for breakfast) . Dinner ended up being surprisingly light again and I just wasn't hungry into the evening.
09/13 - 73.3 - Nice and solid. Judo yesterday and my quads are killing me. I didn't even think we did much quad work, I was expecting my abs to be the ones in serious pain but they're only very slightly sore. As is standard practice I didn't feel any more hungry having done judo, so I ate as normal and ended up with ~900kcals left over at the end of the day. So much so we almost ordered a takeaway for dinner just because we had the calories. Didn't, instead I made a Thai curry that again, turned out to be less calories than I thought it was going to be. We're going out for lunch today, so I'm glad I've got calories banked for that.
Round Summary (7 days):
Down 0.5kg. I'm very happy with that. This round has been surprisingly easy to keep to my calorie goals, so I'm very happy about that. I'm sure that in the next couple of rounds I'll get more bad days as I've not had any this time, but very happy with this rounds progress.8 -

7 weeks till 60th birthday 💖

Date – Weight in of the morning– Summary of the previous day:
09/04 229.3 Starting this challenge off in the 20s! Never want to revisit the 30s again. Remember that as you go through a week without a scale. Don't want a surprise when I return for the next challenge! Today I’m walking 3 miles in this darn heat before driving 5 hours. Packed our lunch so that we don’t have a fast food emergency.
09/05 DNW @ fishing camp 🎣 Last night I forgot to thaw our steak so pulled out Plan B keto friendly frozen pizza. I’m so glad that I packed a few quick alternatives just in case since there are no restaurants near by. Plan to continue walking this week … 4 miles round trip thru the nearby county park to the boat ramp. I now have hand weights and yoga mats for the camp too for permanent residence here! Ready for the week.
09/06 DNW @ fishing camp 🎣 Walked! Food wise I was good for the majority of the day; however, 3 Saint Arnold Summer Pills at 155 calories & 11 carbs each was not a good choice as we sat outside during the evening. I did skip the chips & dip sitting in front of me and brought my own low carb tortillas for the fajitas.
09/07 DNW @ fishing camp 🎣 Walked my 3+ miles in the morning. Fished in the late afternoon. Sauted shrimp avocado salad for lunch & steak, prosciutto wrapped asparagus, cauliflower rice au gratin for dinner. Kept to my promise to myself 4 nights alcohol free per week … AF last night sipping on Fresca while others indulged. It was a wonderful day of me taking care of me
09/08 DNW @ fishing camp 🎣 Walked, fished, cooked fajitas (both chicken & beef so that we would have it for leftovers for the week), drank water, AF, tracked food … things are going as planned. While checking on my mom’s house yesterday afternoon I stepped on her scale and it indicated I’m still in the 220s … so not slipping back into the 230s! WHEW.
09/09 DNW @ fishing camp 🎣 Walked (jogged a little). Caught 3 large speckled trout fishing. Grilled Caprese Burger (homemade beef burger with butter lettuce, tomato, mozzarella, basil, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and no bun) for dinner with what my kids call a skinny margarita on the rocks (tequila, cointreau, lime juice & light agave nectar). Overall good day.
09/10 DNW @ fishing camp 🎣 Walked in morning & yoga with friends over Zoom in the evening. Fish Tacos! So much better with fresh fish you catch. On track with food and AF.
09/11 DNW @ fishing camp 🎣 Not an official WI but stepped on my mom’s scale next door this morning 225.4. Boy would I love that to be real when I get home. 🤞Walked my 3 miles in the rain yesterday morning and I was soaked through and through. Left the rain jacket at the camp duh! The park rangers kept driving by to check on me to make sure I didn’t want to give up and catch a ride back. Returned home and not sure if it was walking in the cool wet weather or the yoga the night before but I was exhausted! Spent the evening sitting on the dock sipping skinny margaritas.
09/12 DNW @ fishing camp 🎣 Walked this morning and fished in the late afternoon. Mid 70s! Evening sunset with a Charcuterie board of smoke gouda, various salami, almonds and olives with a terrible cheap sweet pinot noir which I didn’t finish (only thing at the grocery store near camp). Back to my water!
09/13 DNW @ fishing camp 🎣 No excuses for going over both calories & carbs today. I did get my walk in but no fishing. Stressful day requiring new roof for the camp after hail damage in April and hurricane damage in July. They’ll finish today so that we can head home. I’ll find out in the morning if this was a successful round checking in daily without a scale. I went back the last few years of notes and found that I almost always return home after being at the camp with a gain on the scale. It was rare not to. My hope is that mental state & attitude are much better now and that I’ve learned how to deal with this challenging environment. However yesterday was not a good example! Hoping I didn't undo all my good work from earlier this week!5 -

Date night tonight so a bit over my calories, and too many carbs. But it was delicious, and it is important to me to be able to live with this way of life. And that includes occasionally going over.

Father's day, so another dinner out. Still trying to make ok choices, but it is much harder when you aren't cooking.

09/04 - 191.6 I'm happy to see that. After my daughter's softball game yesterday she really wanted a caramel frappe from McDonalds, which also happens to be my weakness. I had iron clad willpower and didn't get one for myself as well lol I set my goal to lose 3 lbs in this challenge, which seems like a little too much but I really can't wait to see the 180's, so I'm hoping that my willpower sticks around! My youngest 2 kiddos and I are going to our lake lots to camp this weekend so I wont be weighing in tomorrow, and I'm sure there will be a small bump in my weight. Have a good weekend
09/05 - DNW. We are camping. Ate horribly yesterday 😮 I'm going to try to do way better today!
09/06 -193.4 We came home a day early from camping. I knew there would be a jump in my weight but I didn't think it would be nearly 2 lbs. For some reason even if I eat healthy when we are camping I still hold onto some extra weight for a few days. I'm still optimistic that I will see the 180's in this challenge, but if not, I won't beat myself up for it. I think this camping trip was our last for the summer and the 2 lbs was worth it
09/07 - 191.8 That's better! Happy Labor Day, hope you all have a great one! I work today so I will get plenty of steps in.
09/08 - 191.0 I definitely got plenty of steps in yesterday. I'm a waitress and I'm starting to see that my knees dont hurt as much anymore after a long busy shift. I'm very thankful for that. I was able to go for a walk last night and still had energy. I like these non scale victories as much as I do seeing the scale move!
09/09 - 189.8 I got to see the 180's, barely but I made it!! Now I just hope I can keep them around. The lowest I got the last time I tried to lose weight was 183, so that is my first mini goal this go around.
09/10 - 189.2 Very close to my round goal. It's raining here so I'm not sure that I will get in a walk today. I'm also off work today, so I will try to keep myself busy around the house to get some steps in.
09/11 - 188.4 I'm loving this trend and I sure hope it sticks around! I closed out my diary by 5pm yesterday. I was really full after dinner and I only had 10 calories left. If I close it out I typically won't eat anything else. I didn't need to either. Hubby made his famous pork chops and I stuffed myself I knew that's what he was making so I planned accordingly and was pretty proud of myself for staying within my calorie limit for the day. Happy Friday!
09/12 - 188.0 Pretty excited about this. I keep thinking I'm going to jump back up. Hope you all have a great weekend.
09/13 - 188.4 I was able to go on 2 different walks yesterday and it felt great. It had been raining here for the last week almost so the fresh air was nice. Today was weigh in day and I've lost 5 lbs in the last 2 weeks I'm happy with that progress!

Round 125 SW 191.8 EW ?
Day/Weight/Comment
09/04 191.8 to start this round. I didn't drink enough water yesterday and didn't realize it until bedtime. Also, I thought I came in at 1293 calories yesterday and then realized I also ate walnuts as I was cooking bc I waited too long to start dinner. Plan for today.. only snack at planned snack time. Do not eat mindlessly.
09/05 192.8 today, I didn't mindlessly snack but we went out for dinner last night. I had half a nacho order and it was DELICIOUS but I'm paying the price in salt water weight today! Water water!
09/06 191.6 water weight dropped off a bit. healthy groceries for this week with minimal "treats" so not very many temptations are available.
09/07 192.0 up down up down. My trend line on libra still shows down so I'll take it. I went to yoga yesterday and my shoulders and hamstrings are so sore today! Also my girlfriends and are have having an afternoon tea today complete with scones and clotted cream, so I'm budgeting my calories around that!
09/08 191.2 lowest number this round. we shall see about tomorrow, I had a higher cal day and a bit salty dinner.
09/09 192.4 sitting on the trend line today, so I hope for a drop tomorrow to keep the momentum going. Plan for today:
B: coffee and more coffee, greek yogurt and berries
L: greek Salad with chicken dressed with olive oil and balsamic
Snack: carrots and cucumbers with light ranch dip, green tea
Dinner : cod with lemon and green beans, cinnamon apples with chopped walnuts for dessert
09/10 190.2! back on track with the downward trend and super excited for this number. fingers crossed it sticks
09/11 189.2 a whole pound down since yesterday feels amazing! nothing like seeing some results for continued motivation! Heading into the weekend without any major temptations in sight.
09/12 188.8 Even better, this is an awesome "whoosh" I'm having. I def. expect it to slow down but for now, Happy dance!
09/13 188.3 the trend continues see you next round4 -

Round 125 SW: 178.9 (on 9/3/20)
09/04 – 178.6 – I had a piece of celebration cake yesterday and eliminated some of the other carbs I had planned for the day. The substitute seems to have worked.
09/05 – 179.1 – It’s that TOM, I know I ate more sodium, and my hands feel puffy today. Yep, water retention!
09/06 – 179.1 – Not too bad considering that yesterday I caved into stress and emotional eating. I guess I didn’t overdo it as bad as I thought?
09/07 – 178.5 – I finally feels like I am settling into the 170s and can say goodbye to the 180s!!
09/08 – 178.4 – I wasn’t able to get all of my steps in yesterday, but I met my calorie goal.
09/09 – 178.7 – Seems a little bit of a fluctuation. I managed my 3 goals of calories, steps and water yesterday, but I feel so scattered this week it’s all I can do to hold onto those 3 goals.
09/10 – 177.7 – Today is my weekly weigh-in day, so I was extra careful yesterday. 175 was the weight I settled into for the previous many years, so it’s nice to be in sight of it again.
09/11 – 177.8 – Tired. Tired and hungry for the last few days….
09/12 – 178.2 – Not bad considering that I got take-out lunch yesterday to “refeed”
09/13 – 177.7 – Finished this 10 days on a good note, excellent! I’m ready for another 10 days! Thank you so much for these threads!

9/4 - 181.2 - 1357 - snack <200 - walked 70 min 😊
Yesterday was a good day. For whatever reason(s), I feel much more in control and determined. I seem to be succeeding at curtailing my night-time snack habit. I’ve set a goal of losing 1 pound/round, which seems realistic even with holiday season coming up. I guess one good thing about the lack of social gatherings is the reduced supply of beautiful goodies everywhere! Anyway, here’s to a great round for everyone.
9/5 - 182 - 1372 - snack >200 ☹️ - walked 50 min
There’s an uptick that makes me scratch my head. Oh, well. I’ve been making my calorie goal and my average is just barely higher, so on the right track. It’s cool and lovely here today and I hope to finish my current garden bed expansion and then maybe do some painting. All good! Have a lovely Saturday, all!
9/6 - 181.2 - 1672 - snack 🍨 >200 😐 - 3 hrs digging and hauling dirt 🙂
I went over my goal yesterday but did a lot of heavy work in the garden, and I was hungry! It’s ok, and I finished expanding one border, so the new area is read for plating. Today’s project — refinishing an end table I got for $20. This morning I sanded the old finish off the top. I plant to put a light stain on it and paint the body and legs. Primer on the lower parts this afternoon! Do something creative today — it’s good for the soul!
9/7 - 181.8 - 1659 ☹️ - snack Triscuits & cheese - walked 65 min
No idea why I got snacky last night, but today will be better. I’ve promised myself! Off to get stain for my end table top. I painted the body and legs yesterday and they look great — I’m excited to see it finished! Have a safe & happy Labor Day, and remember the people who worked hard for workers’ benefits and safety.
9/8 - 181.4 - 1507 - snack 🍿
Ok, holiday over, back to fighting off the snack monster. Lots to do today, which should help. I finished my end table makeover. Still drying, so ignore the backdrop, but what do you think? It started with a beat up, very dark cherry finish.
9/9 - 182.4 ☹️ - 1735 ☹️ - snack 🍨
Aaack! Very very not-on-track day yesterday! We had tuna casserole for dinner (yep, the old-fashioned kind) and then for who knows why I had ice cream later. I wasn’t even hungry. 😡 Obviously some of the gain is water, but still.... otoh, my calorie average is below maintenance, so this should be a minor glitch. It’s really cool today, so off for a long walk. I read how on track the rest of you are and feel inspired to get control again. Thank you all!
9/10 - 181.8 - 1597 - snack Triscuits
I did reasonably well yesterday, though high on sodium from leftover casserole and my Triscuit snack. Feeling a little puffy, but not bad. I’m in a small creative-women’s support group (just four of us — I’m a writer/painter, one painter/interior designer, one rug hooker, one quilter) — and we’ve been meeting outdoors at one another’s homes all summer (zooming March - April). Tonight they’re coming here and we decided to make it dinner this time since it may be our last outdoor face-to-face (distanced!) for a while. So I probably won’t pig out too much, but expect higher than normal calories. It will be worth it — these 3 are a major link to sanity at the moment! Hoping all of you in the West are safe, and wishing you all beauty, friendship, and delight.
9/11 - 181.6 - 1600 - snack 🍨
Our group dinner was cancelled due to weather. We’ll try next week. Today I have to bake cookie for a “thing” but I will minimize taste testing. Making maple cookies — mmmm. Going for a walk while the dough chills. Have a lovely Friday!
9/12 - 182 - 1545 - snack - don’t ask
Bleagh. What’s wrong with me? I can’t seem to stop eating at night. I’m seriously thinking of shifting my food day to start with lunch. I don’t expect I’ll hit my goal for the round. Again. OTOH, it’s a lovely if cloudy day here and we’re healthy, so there’s that. I baked maple pecan cookies for a “thing,” and had one bite of one to sample. Happy with that at least. Have a good weekend.
9/13 - 182.2 calorie ave 1612 - snacks 😡
Ok, not my goal, and I know why and I know who’s at fault. On to the next round. Try, try again to get a grip.

09/08 - 169.5 So I weighed every day since after Friday but only entered it all today. Look at that crazy 1 pound up and down. lol I'd like to act like I don't know why my scale is acting like that, but I am a bad liar. Of all the treats I enjoyed over labor day weekend, my 5 mo old grandson was my favorite.
09/09 - 169.9 Lost and Found:Found. 1.1 pounds. Sometimes disguised as 17 ozs. Answers to bad choices, including Dots pretzels, ice cream and the hubs homemade air fryer donuts. Approach with caution. Runs from IF, water, logging balanced nutrition and long walks. Happy to return it to its rightful owner by 9/13.
09/10 - 170.1 So normally a bump up or down of an oz or two doesn't excite me much...but that "7" though! It will NOT be there tomorrow and I'm a bit surprised it is there today after 14,600 steps yesterday.
09/11 - 169 12,980 steps. This round's goal seems out of reach, but that's ok. In a couple more days we'll start R126!
09/12 - 168 15,801 steps yesterday, but also slept in so will need to be extra prudent if I intend to drop 3 oz to make goal tomorrow
09/13 - 168.6. Lots of ups and downs this round. Off to donate blood today. A pint’s a pound the world around. (Well, we will see if the scales believe that tomorrow. )4 -

09/13 - 155.6 - Back down a little. I still feel heavy in the lower belly area. Dinner was delivery because BF started feeling not so great and instead of getting smoked chicken quarters and veggies from our friends, we came home. He really wanted pizza so pizza we got. Don't feel bloated in the normal sense, think its still hormone-related bloat, especially since my fingers and face aren't swollen anymore. I'm hungry this AM but trying to hold off a little longer and get my water in first. About to change out of PJs and do some yoga to get movement in since it's been a minute since I was able to get any workouts done.
Previous Day's Comments09/04 - Worth it! We had a mini girls night last night, I got to go to a new restaurant so I splurged a little trying things and had a glass of wine with dinner. The storm derailed our original plans which I planned my breakfast and lunch around but this new place was much fancier and harder to plan around. Ended up getting the grilled trout. I hit my water goal before leaving the house and had several glasses of water in between sipping my wine. We shall see how bad this derailed me tomorrow.
09/05 - DNP
09/06 - I didn't get a chance to post yesterday. The uptick was the day 2 of Girl's Night Friday and very much expected. We had our Fantasy football draft (its my first one in person) with Fam yesterday. It was crazy busy getting 3 drafts done and I DEFINITELY did not get water in. We had wings, tatortots, and fries available for food so it was that or nothing at all. I know sodium is high and dehydration retention is high so I decided to give myself grace today and tomorrow to recover before I subject myself to what is probably not pleasant weigh-ins. No need to mentally destroy myself for circumstances not entirely under my control. I will be catching up this morning on yesterday's updates and I will be back to post tomorrow, assuming nothing crazy interrupts my morning, to stay accountable and get the much needed support to be back on track. Love you all so dearly!
09/07 - Late posting, but had a busy busy day that started earlier than normal for days off. Ended up getting to go to the zoo with Fam (BF and I's first time) because they secured day passes and requested 2 free guests off their annual membership in case we said yes. Then pitstop at Old Navy for FamWife and I to get clothes for an impromptu river swim on the way home. Lunch wasn't great- taco bell, but all the other places nearby the zoo were closed or super duper busy. Kept it small and simple. Dinner was homemade shrimp pad thai and egg rolls with some tofu on the side and a kale salad. May have had a little too much of pad thai but the veggies and shrimp in it were so amazing. Water was super expensive (and couldn't bring your own) so I'm short on water, but still chugging away. A lot more walking than I anticipated, but less than I'd like (by the time I was ready to go for my morning walk, I had to shower super quick to leave on time). I'll still come to post regardless of weigh-in decision which I'll make depending on how I feel when I wake up. Choosing to take a mental break so I don't overstress or freak out over a false high (I call them false because its mostly water retention and bloating, not actual fat) is a really really pleasant thing and I wish I had given myself that opportunity in the past rather than beat myself up and super restrict. Its freeing knowing that I've learned so much about my body from this group that I can step away when I know its necessary but still have the support of the group with no judgement.
09/08 - Woke up late for work... Luckily not too late and boss was super chill when he realized I made it to the meeting (I was about 10 minutes late to meeting but he didn't realize I was on until we all almost hung up). Didn't want to weigh in this morning anyway, so this was simply the universe ensuring I couldn't. I chugged water while on the call before ever stepping into the bathroom where the scale is. I feel so dehydrated and bloated this am. I know it is all water weight from yesterday. With that, today's goals: get a walk in once I can get to my closet without waking up BF, focus on water intake, and eat good, healthy, filling foods. Also, get back on IF. I may not hit the full 16, but aiming for at least 15 hours due to a later than normal dinner yesterday. Edit: Walking may not happen as it just started pouring rain. I didn't realize it was supposed to rain before Wednesday! Maybe, if it calms down this evening and dinner isn't too late, I'll take the pup out for an after-dinner walk. Its been getting darker earlier so my evening walks have been suffering a bit.
09/09 - Pre-TOM weight kicking in, I guess. I feel back to normal as far as water weight goes but I know TOM will be here any day now. Upsetting coming off grace period feeling ok, like I'm back down in weight, only for my weigh in to be higher than I expected because hormones.... Hopefully it'll drop quickly, though. Going to keep chug-a-lugging my water. No walk, its raining like crazy. Woke up at 345 wide eyed and bushy tailed for absolutely no reason. Then got scared when my phone went off with a immediate danger flash flood warning. I might need a nap between all my meetings today. No walk, its still absolutely pouring rain and seems it will be for the rest of the week. Need to figure out how to get steps in while in this little house. Nowhere I walk is more than 5-6 steps before a 180 so getting a nice brisk pace is impossible. Maybe I just jog in place and hope for the best?
09/10 - Didn't have time to weigh as I had to take BF to hospital for surgery this am. Now doing laundry in hopes of getting as much dog hair off his sheets and blankets as possible. I'm being uprooted from the bedroom into daughter's room with the dog (she LOVES to plop right on him at night and short dog hair+surgery=bad. It gets everywhere.) Got plenty to do with the house and actual work before I head back at 930 (pickup is scheduled at 10/1030 right now). Hopefully that will get me plenty of steps in to count as a small workout. Last night was horrid. I battled a headache all day (excedrin didn't do a thing) but last night around dinner it went into a full blown migraine. I got dizzy, couldn't focus my vision, nauseous, etc. Almost threw up when I went to bed. Have a small lingering headache in back of head this am but was finally able to pass out last night and rid of the worst of it. Tossed and turned all morning since 3am (similar to yesterday but was able to doze a few times for a few minutes this morning unlike yesterday). Not sure what happened... Chugging water and trying not to eat my stress away today is the goal, especially once BF is home and I have to wrangle the dog (who is likely to be super freaked out).
09/11 - Surprised to be back down after yesterday. I didn't do my IF, I kinda stress ate, I was 100% nursemaid focused on BF. Did get a lot of water in, though. Nerve block wore off and BF in ton of pain so probably hanging around the house and helping him. I'm working today but have nothing going on and everyone knows I'll be helping him. Don't think I'll manage my goal but if I can get back down to 153.x I'll be content.
09/12 - TOM is kicking my butt... maybe its the added stress of being nurse to BF or something but holy moly symptoms. My poor lower belly was bloated tight as a rock this morning and my fingers are all swollen. I hit my water goal yesterday so not sure what's going on since this NEVER seems to happen. I have to retain a ton of water to get swollen fingers (usually my face gives it away first for some reason). I also feel heavy and my stomach is a bit achy. Going to try to fast for longer so long as I don't get too nauseous and drink my water early in hopes of dropping some water weight. Blaming it on TOM and stress because my eating wasn't great, but it wasn't horrible -- especially not bad enough for all this.

I'll have to order that. I love IF (when I can get it to work with my schedule) and debated doing longer fasts (alternate day or 36/48hr) for awhile now. Its really hard because COVID limits our gatherings and our primary reason for gathering is potluck style dinners (occasionally a lunch) and I don't want to have to sit down and explain my reasoning to everybody individually (they won't all sit down at once so they'll each approach me one-by-one about it haha). Plus, one is a former nurse and she is absolutely against fasting... I don't want to argue.
I'm thinking once I go back to work - 10hr days at work plus a 3+hr daily commute will give me the perfect excuse! They won't ever know and I can fast in peace. Gives me time to learn, too.

Highest Weight = 181.4
Ultimate Goal Weight = 134
Round 124 = 173.4 (4.6 lbs lost)
Round 125 Goal: I will be going to the beach next week, so my plan is to hopefully maintain through that & not gain. Would love to be under 170 when this round ends but not sure that is doable with a vacation in the mix.
Day/Weight/Comment:
09/04: 172.7 (down .7 from yesterday) Happy with this drop to start this round! Yesterday was my 4th day this week AF, I don't think I will have a drink until we are at the beach next week. Trying to bank some good losses before then! Up for today is a run and cooking a nice dinner tonight, last night was kind of a scavenger hunt for something to make, so my body is craving a real meal tonight.
09/05: 172.6 (down .1 from yesterday) A loss is a loss, so I'll take it! Yesterday was my last day at work before vacation & I was chained to my desk all day for an additional 3+ hours to get everything in order before taking off next week, so never got my planned lunch hour run in or even lunch for that matter. ( I telecommute from home to my office, so usually I can get a work out in on my lunch hour) Today my daughter and I are off on a little road trip to pick up a FB Marketplace find so will be in the car most of the day. Hopefully will be back in time to get a run in and water the lawn before dinner prep begins.
09/06: 171.6 (down 1 lbs from yesterday) A little low on calories yesterday from being in the car for an extended time & my fast lasted 18 hours instead of the usual 16. Got my run in when I got home and was just as fast solo as my last run where my husband really pushed my pace, so progress! Feel the need for super protein today, so planning a steak for dinner + maybe asparagus to go with it. So much to do today, 100 million loads of laundry, packing everything for the beach, meal planning for the week, grocery shopping (staying in a house & taking all the non-perishable with us as just a small market nearby there). And really would like to get another run in today if there is time. Yesterday was my 6th day this week AF (yay!) but need to head to the liquor store today, planning some festive (yet low calorie) alcoholic drinks for the vacay.
09/07: 171.8 (up .2 lbs from yesterday) Slight uptick on this scale this morning, just a normal fluctuation but did weigh in a bit earlier this morning. Had no time to get a run in yesterday but that's okay, my goal is 3 runs a week right now, so yesterday would've just been a bonus run. Fasting yesterday was 20 hours due to being super busy running errands to leave town and 90% of my calories came from dinner. It was on the higher end of my allowed range but still at a deficit. Yesterday marked 7 days AF, hoping to get 4 days AF this new week. I *think* I'm in a good place to stay on track (maintain) at the beach. It is only 4 days and we are still social distancing so plan on cooking in every night except one. I've meal planned and already pre-logged in my dinners (with dessert) and adult beverages to MFP, so as long as I stick to those I should be okay. Cooking out tonight with hot dogs & corn on the grill, plus making coleslaw and a strawberry buttermilk cake. Looking forward to a nicely chilled glass of rosé to top off the day! Happy Labor Day to everyone in the US!
09/08: DNW (Beach) Stayed on the low end of my calories yesterday, 20+ hours fasting, and going with one meal a day (OMAD) whole at the beach. I had wine pre-logged into my calories to enjoy after dinner but didn't even want it, so that makes day 8 AF. On plan for tonight to cook is Tacos, peach cobbler with homemade vanilla ice cream, and Margaritas. I will have a Margarita! Will not weigh in again until Friday morning, I meant to pack my scale but forgot it. I'll still daily check in to keep myself accountable for the choices I make.
09/09: DNW (Beach) Mid range on my calories yesterday (still a deficit), 20+ hours fasting & OMAD. Spent the morning on the beach and then the afternoon had lots and lots of walking. Had 2 Margaritas after dinner that fit into my calories. So delicious but woke up with the puffiest eyes! We are getting BBQ take-out tonight, I've looked at their online menu and pre-logged into MFP as best as I can (not a chain so no exact MFP entries). I think I'll still be in a deficit. No running so far, I think I'll save my 3 weekly runs for Fri, Sat, Sunday when I get back home.
09/10: DNW (Beach) Went way, way over on calories yesterday. But it was just one day and while the scale will most likely go up, it was just one day and I know the scale will drop back down. Will be weighing in tomorrow morning and see where I am.
09/1: 172.3 (up .5 from Monday) Just a half pound up after returning home from the beach. I'll happily take that number! Don't think it's an actual gain, just the day 2 blip up from going over calories on Thursday, so it should bounce back down *hopefully* tomorrow. Either way, I'm still lower than I started this round and have 2 days to go to make some more progress. Yesterday was OMAD and that meal was lunch at 1 p.m. so currently in the midst of a 24 hour fast today, only 3.5 more hours to go. Will be running today, tomorrow, and Sunday.
09/12: 171.8 (down .5 from yesterday) Dropped back down to my exact pre-vacation weight, YAY! Just 1.9 lbs away from a major goal, mentally I just need to be under 170 lbs. Won't hit it this round but for I'll be going really hard for this goal next round! Got in a run yesterday and heading out shortly for another one. Great running weather, love the cooler September temps:)
09/13: 171.6 (down .2 from yesterday) Happy, I successfully navigated this round with a vacation in the middle and still came out with a loss. Positives this round are: IF 16/8 (some days longer fasts), completed my 3rd week of returning to structured running (been a runner for 10+ years but fallen off track), & AF 5 out of 7 days (goal was 4 AF days)

Day/Weight/Walking distance/Comment:
9/8 166.1 Walked 3.25 miles Holiday went well, bbq'd with roommate and her kids. Didn't overeat and I got in a good walk. I'm still not logging in on the weekend to update this. I took Friday off for a long holiday weekend. Ended up hiking 5 miles on Friday and 4 miles on Saturday. I'm surprised I'm not down a little bit more, sodium as always is my bugaboo. My boyfriend has moved closer to me in addition to changing jobs. All the things that made it harder to see him are gone. We're spending tons of time together and it's great. However, he likes that I've lost weight (mostly he likes what 500 miles of walking does to your booty) but he also tries to talk me into pastries. We're going shopping tonight and I'm getting fruit. He can have his cream pastries and I'll have a banana. It's all growing pains and figuring this stuff out. Happy Tuesday ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
9/9 166.3 Walked 0 miles Rain, rain, rain. No walking last night or this morning but it looks good for tonight. I feel like I'm carrying a pound or two of water weight. Fingers crossed it will drop off sooner rather than later.
9/10 164.3 Walked 1.09 mile WooHoo the water is gone! Of course the rain is still here. It got me last night, I had to turn around after half a mile. Sinuses are bothering me and I didn't sleep well. The boyfriend's new mattress and I are not getting along.
9/11 164.6 Walked 3.0 miles At least I got my walk in yesterday, sprinkles didn't melt me after all. Stayed on course food wise, not worried about a .3 change.
9/12 DMW Walked 4.11 miles Good walk last night. Kept sodium low so yeah! Still fighting bf's mattress but I slept better than Wednesday.
9/13 165.2 Walked 3.08 Took the almost 3 year old with me on my walk. Took us an hour and 20 minutes by the time we stopped to looked at flowers, dog and dino prints in the mud, played hide-and-seek and picked up some cool rocks to show her grandma. I will say 3 miles pushing a stroller with a 35 pound kid is a lot more work than just walking 3 miles. New respect to these people I see flat out running pushing a stroller. Not sure why the weight is up. I've been good calorie and sodium wise. It's beautiful here today. I'm going for a long walk and fishing at some point.7 -

The salt might do me in, but I’m drinking a good amount of water today, so hopefully it shouldn’t affect me too much tomorrow.
09/13 115.0 Oh hey salt. We went for another nice walk this morning and then I came back and did a bodyweight workout. I had a NSV today: being able to complete 10 chin ups in a row unassisted! Summer goal hit! Have a happy Sunday all!
