Happy that the drop from yesterday has held so far. I spent the weekend dealing with some of the responsibilities on my plate, so that has helped my stress levels a bit.
15/9 126.6kg
I have moved to an IF 16:8 model, as I am finding if I have an early breakfast, then I am more hungry throughout the day. Still keeping it low carb as well, which really helps prevent snacking.
16/9 126.7kg
I'm finally settling into some good habits, and maintaining this new lifestyle is becoming easier. My husband is supportive, but still offers me treats that are high carb, which I medically need to control. He will get there at some point, but it is a test of my new habits.
17/9 126.9kg
Bounce, bounce, bounce. It will go down again. I just need to be patient. I'm going to try some low carb chocolate for dessert tonight. It will either work, or it won't.
18/9 126.5kg
A late post because I was travelling last night. High carb dinner, but I had planned for it, and it is an infrequent thing.
19/9 126.5kg
Did a bunch of walking with my kids today. It was good, but I am sore tonight. Also tried a high protein/low carb chocolate bar, which wasn't amazing, but was enough to hit my chocolate craving.
20/9 126.3kg
Today I took a day just for me. This winter has been really rough, so it was nice to have the time. Planning on an early night.
21/9 126.4kg
Still going. Days like today are just reminders that this is about the long term. I can't rely on motivation, because motivation wanes. Instead I have to remember that this is needed for my health.
22/9 126.4kg
Hubby planned dinner, so we have pasta, schnitzel, peas and corn. I'm swapping out the veggies and pasta for a salad. I couldn't do keto at all, but low carb is manageable with swaps.

Day/Weight/Comment
09/14 170.0lbs Four days at the same weight, I'm hoping for a drop soon. However, I'm weighing in an hour earlier than usual.
09/15 169.8lbs Just done half an hour of exercise. An even earlier weigh in as well, I've been meaning to do this for ages but didn't want to show an increased weight!
09/16 169.6 later weigh in but have not exercised yet so not too worried
09/17 169.8 late weigh in, no exercise yet. Not worried about 0.2lb
09/18 169.8 Now I am worried. It's time I had another drop. I'm in a bad mood today. I had arranged for a pick up of furniture from a house I am emptying. I rang th company this morning and was told that I would get a call 30 mins beforehand. Ten minutes later got a call saying we phoned but you were on the phone and we can't wait any longer!
09/19 169.6 This is after nearly 5000 steps! I do hope I get a proper drop by the end of this round.
09/20 169.2 That's better
09/21 168.8 Happy with this

Round 125 EW: 152.2:
We thoroughly enjoyed our celebration day on the 12th. Phone calls and messages, and a garden visit from DED and her dogs. 💦 Water is up over 5% (having an analytical scale is very reassuring) which will go in a day or two. This is what maintenance is all about. The occasional indulgent day does little harm in the long run.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Day/Weight/Comment
09/14 - 73.8 - Because of course it jumps up to what it was a week ago. This is why I'm glad I weigh every day, because it would look like I've not lost anything this last week, but I know that this is just a fluctuation up. And I know why too. Yesterday was a maintenance day. I knew it was going to be a maintenance day. I banked calories for it to be a maintenance day. It still feels wrong to allow my numbers go into the red. Ah well. Cider at lunch (first time I've drunk alcohol for ages, damn it was good), went out for lunch (nice burger and chips), lots of cheese for dinner and topped it off with a big chocolate cookie. CI was slightly above CO so not quite a true maintenance day, but considering my deficit for the week, I'm still pretty happy with it all and all. And I didn't eat all of my lunch because it was there. When I was full, I stopped nibbling at the chips and left them.
09/15 - 74.0 - Now you can just stop it. My legs are killing me. Judo yesterday killed me. My legs were still kind of hurting going into the session left over from Saturday, and then what did we do during the circuits? More flipping frog jumps. Aaaaah! It's fine, I don't need to use my legs! And I think I've pulled my hamstring because I am so close to getting left side splits flat to the floor (something I've not been able to do since I was a about 10), so I pushed it a little too much trying to get there, I did make it though, but only for a second, and it hurt so maybe a little bit longer on that one. So yeah, fluid retention is strong today. Hopefully we'll see a drop tomorrow back to something a little more sensible.
09/16 - 74.4 - Why? Seriously though, why?
09/17 - 73.8 - Right, well at least that better. Lets see if this trend continues. Yesterday was hard, I am getting really hungry at the moment (lead up to my period week, I think) and I decided to work from home where all the food was available. But managed to keep it at bay and eat fairly sensible. Dinner was somewhat disappointing as I'd bought some lean cut pork sausages with a lower calorie count. But the amount of calorie difference was no where near enough to make up for the fact that they were just not as nice a normal sausages. And they shrank up quite small, so two wasn't really quite enough, and at that point is the sausage just less calories because there's less of it than other brands. Well whatever, not going to be going for that again.
09/18 - 73.8 - It's frustrating that it's still not going down, but with this week I'm not overly surprised. I have been oh so hungry this week. Yesterday was definitely the peak of my hunger. I just did not feel satisfied with anything yesterday. Normally I save some of my breakfast shake to eat later at about 3pm (when I start feeling a little munchy), but that didn't happen, and I was still hungry afterwards, and I was still hungry after lunch, even though I packed extra fruit because I thought I would be hungry, and I ate more than a few squares of the 'not very nice chocolate' I keep in my desk to stop me going to the shop for a snickers. And it took every ounce of willpower I had not to say "screw it" and order a takeaway for dinner. But order I did not, and I pulled some leftovers out of the freezer and had that instead. I finished the day still a little hungry, but under maintenance. No matter what the scales say, I'd call that a win.
09/19 - 73.4 - Looks like my perseverance finally paid off. I did actually finally log onto my trendweight account for the first time in ages and discovered that my trend weight has still been dropping all this week which is encouraging and does make me feel better about the whole massive weight spike thing. Yesterday was so much better than the days before. The hunger monster had definitely gone back to bed to the extent that dinner didn't really turn out to be anything as neither me nor OH where very hungry so we had half a pizza (only half!!) and a glass of wine. Slightly over, but I normally build up a bit of a buffer on the weekends and this should be an active one so feeling optimistic.
09/20 - 73.4 - that's fine I guess. Judo yesterday so would be expecting to be holding a lot of water, so that numbers strangely low tbh. Ended up doing two sessions as there was space in the juniors session and was certainly tired after it so my seniors session wasn't quite as good as I wanted. Eating was stupidly low. I just wasn't hungry. I often find that on Judo Saturdays that by the time I get home at around 2-3, I'll eat something and barely be hungry for the rest of the day. My 'dinner' was an eaton mess situation which was very few calories for something sweet and was nice and light as I wasn't really that hungry.
09/21- 73.4 - Okay I'm sick of seeing this number now, can we change the record please. A busy-ish day yesterday. Woke up early and had plans for a 2hour-ish hike with the OH finishing with a picnic, but he got back late from work (2am instead of midnight) so we pushed that back to have lunch early on and walk afterward. Still, he was tired so we cut out something that claimed to be a short detour to look at an arty bench, but looked much more like a longish detour. Shame because it looked like the most interesting of the arty benches we were looking out for on our walk. So with my early start I actually cut the hedge before we headed out, and feeling completely knackered in the process to the extent that with the hike later I was literally falling asleep where I stood the moment it hit 10pm. My body hurts so much this morning. Eating was good, and actually ended up again well under calories. I always find it weird how a lot of people kind weekends hard to control their eating, but personally I find mid week the hard part and the weekend an easy way to bank calories for the rest of the week. Anyone else find this?
09/22 - 72.9 - Finally!! And yep, my period has just started, so that's a thing. I'll have to remember that for next month. This is the result I was starting to wonder if it was ever going to happen has finally paid off. Judo yesterday, and my abs are so sore (so much core stuff in the circuit), so could still be retaining water. We'll see. Eating was good, and I even had a cookie as I had the calories. I'm thinking of buying and cutting them in half in future, because I was in a rush and grabbed a whole one from the freezer, but if I was more than satisfied by around half way through, and I think if I'd only half a half, I would've been happy with a half. I ate the rest after judo, mostly because it was there, more than desperately wanting it.

🎯Mini Goal: 225 I’ll no longer be morbidly obese ✔️
Date – Morning weigh in – Previous day summary:
09/14 DNW @ fishing camp 🎣 Well the roofers did not finish so we are still at the camp and I don’t have an ending weight for R125 nor a starting weight for R126. But I’m checking in! Walked 3+ miles yesterday morning, tracked food.
09/15 227.7 Finally stepped on the scale. I’m solidly in the 20s and closer to my mini goal. First time in many years I did not gain weight at the camp! Down 1.6 lbs. Yesterday long day in the car 5 hrs returning from the camp, grocery shopping, etc. But tracked, didn’t stop for fast food, drank a ton of water, AF and went on an evening 1+ mile walk.
09/16 227.5 3 mile walk, bike, hand weights, tracked food, 2 glasses of wine. Lots of time spent on reflection, mini goals, habits, and not returning back up to the 230s or 240s like I have in the past.
09/17 227.0 3 mile walk, tracked food, AF. DH had a craving for fried chicken. Popeyes Chicken Breast but tossed the biscuits in the trash immediately then cooked my own green beans as a side and did not break my calorie or carb goals for the day. Bye Bye 18 pounds! I’m not losing weight. I’m getting rid of it with no intention of finding it again.
09/18 226.1 Walked 3 miles, biked, hand weights, tracked food and passed on the wine at an event! At the serving table I focused on what was on my food plan instead of what wasn’t and did not feel deprived at all. Good day.
09/19 225.1 NSV - BMI 39.9 no longer morbidly obese! NSV - Walked 3+ miles at 19 min/mile (down from 22 when I started in Aug)! Biked, hand weights, tracked food, 3 glasses wine with dinner of smoked chicken, sauté brussels sprouts and cheesy cauliflower bake.
09/20 225.4 Love seeing the 225 again this morning which is what my doctor gave me as an initial target before my physical in Jan 2021. Walked 4 miles. Skipped lunch working on daughter’s condo remodel.
09/21 224.5 Walked 3 miles. Fast food lunch (no fries), dinner at my sisters 2 glasses of wine. Worked on the condo remodel again all day.
09/22 224.4 Walked 3 miles even though it rained on me twice (wore raincoat). Homemade smoked chicken sausage gumbo minus rice. Comfort food on a rainy day. AF

My problem with weekends is no structure/routine as well. If I'm able to stay busy, it is easy for me to forget until I begin to feel nauseous or faint (especially I'm doing something physical - faintness can come fast). Otherwise, I don't necessarily feel I go over calories unless there's some event, but, instead, I lack movement. Yesterday was mostly sitting watching football from noon to 1030pm! Luckily my calories were high which forced me to get up during commercials and halftime to move and reach step goals, but usually I'm not good at tracking on weekends due to time and computer access.
@quiltingjaine Mmmm, I can understand that. I did put on a load of weight when I was unemployed (and now I'm trying to get it off again *sigh*)
@CamandJarvis I normally find the reverse true for me, my weekdays are so inactive, but the weekend I'm always busy. I do probably have a better routine at the weekend however. Flexitime at work is great, but it does mean that my weekday working hours are a little...flexible.

Day/Weight/Comment
09/14 188.4 My daughter's 16th Bday! She doesn't want cake but wants Domino's pizza for dinner. I'm going to try my best to make good choices. Also, how do you make time slow down???
09/15 188.4 Been the same weight for 4 or 5 days now. Still staying within my calorie budget and trying to avoid excess salt. Slow and steady wins the race, right?
09/16 188.4 again. I guess staying the same is better than gaining, even if it is frustrating!
09/17 188.4 Is this a plateau? It's driving me crazy lol The .4 isn't even moving, it's weird to me.
09/18 187.0 Finally a different number! Also, T.O.M showed up early by over a week. That never happens for me. I know that changing your diet and adding exercise can cause your cycle to be off, but every time in the past, that means it's been late. And, it also means an increase in weight for a few days, not a loss. Not that I'm complaining though! It's also been a few years since I've tried to lose weight so maybe my body is just responding different now. Anyway, happy Friday!
09/19 185.8 Yesss, I'll take that! Today is my aunt's bridal shower and tomorrow is my daughter's birthday party. Seeing a decrease will give me the willpower I need not to over-eat this weekend
09/20 185.4 I was able to indulge yesterday at her bridal shower and didn't go overboard. My cousin made the cake, and it's been a while since I've had anything sweet. It was delicious, though very sweet lol Happy Sunday!
09/21 186.4 I'm feeling really swollen this morning so I'm hoping that's what the increase is. Have a good week!
09/22 186.0 Happy with that!

09/22 - 153.0 - I was so scared to weigh in this morning. I was feeling so heavy in my low belly I was sure I had somehow gained yet here we are. Maybe that means I have more water weight to shred off if I stay diligent..Managed a 17hr fast and a nice 1.5mile lunch walk after I finished eating (I only have 30 minutes and meeting bracketing lunch. Made up for my recent lack of veggies with lunch and dinner including a large portion. Water was good, got 76oz, half body weight (rounded). Will attempt a walk in between very busy work day, drinking my water, and watching my portions. Anybody else wake up so so so thirsty, even when you drink lots of water before bed? Its been happening a lot recently. Maybe I need to up my water even more?
09/23
Previous Day's Comments09/14 - This is what lactose and upset stomach looks like on me. I ordered soy but they gave me milk. Didn't know until late last night and by then taking my lactose pills didn't do much as it was too long after eating. Woke up with sharp pain in my belly. Don't feel bloated but do feel very heavy in general and a tad bit nauseous. Flushing with water and trying to fast longer today to overcome this and hope my nausea goes away. Glad this is the start of a round so I have plenty of time to bounce back
09/15 - Oh so thankful!!! I'm below my ending weight and my lactose bump is gone! I expected it to take 2 days at least so I'm super duper happy my work paid off yesterday. The best part is that yesterday I wasn't that good, just good enough to not feel bad about my day. Goes to show you don't have to be perfect, you just have to be better than before. I might just keep that in mind going forward. The only person I'm competing against is myself and every day I just have to be better than I was the day before.
09/16 - Some more bloat drop. I feel so might lighter and my belly is much flatter today. Its not the most debloated I could get, but the closest I'll get while eating as a family (dinner's veggies were grilled in melted butter- not the healthiest but oh so delicious). I'm willing to make those sacrifices, though, because I know its possible to still feel good without being absolutely perfect and still be able to enjoy a family dinner. Water was good yesterday. Didn't get a walk in with work but aiming for one this morning once it lightens up a bit. So weird to be awake when its so dark now that days are shorter and shorter. Makes getting my walk in harder unless I'm willing to walk in the dark either in the morning or in the evening. Need to stick to my guns about it and get it done
09/17 - I'll take any drop I can get. I'm up earlier than normal by an hour since I have to drive into work today so I'm really surprised at this. No workout unless I can squeeze it in somehow tonight. Not sure how training will be so not sure if I'll hit step goal, especially if its all classroom stuff.
09/18 - And a whoosh. I expect this to bounce up since I was dehydrated this morning though not sure how. My BF% went up almost 3% today so it makes me wonder. It usually bounces around quite a bit so I know its not super accurate, but this was a huge bounce. I hit my water goal and I believe went a bit over. Making sure I make water goal today. Got my 16hr fast (maybe a little longer as I always forget to check what time it is when I finish dinner but I know it is about 730-ish every night). Not sure if dinner helped me hit my calorie goal as lunch was a little on the low side. No way to track it, unfortunately, except very very estimated guesses. Hit my step goal and almost reached 10k steps despite being in training. Every break I got up to go outside and pace a bit for movement. (Plus outside I could take my mask off - Anxiety from a traumatic event causes me to go into full on panic mode when I wear one. Like hyperventilating, accidentally attacking people trying to help me because I feel like I'm being attacked... Already happened once in the store at the beginning of all this, don't want a repeat. Been looking for a visor or something that doesn't touch my face/neck that is acceptable but no luck so far. A constant battle against my brain when I have to go out ): I just try to avoid it at all costs)
09/19 - DNP
09/20 - I weighed yesterday but have no recollection what it was as I didn't get to record it in my Libra app. Today is a combination of dehydration and salt. I was in the sun all day working hard with very little access to water. I think I got 2 water bottles in (16oz each), only half my minimum goal! Got plenty of steps, though - just shy of 12k! Didn't get to fast like I wanted as I knew lunch was not guaranteed and I'd be physically working in the sun. Ended up having a small late fast food lunch, though. No other option available ): Dinner was a bit salty and although I didn't have much to eat, paired with water retention from dehydration, it compounded. I'll be ok. Today should be quieter so I can focus on my water and food better while watching my football (: hopefully rehydration today will drop me back down quickly. Definitely fasting 16hr, if not more, to get back to normal. Once I finish my water bottle (32oz) I'll get dressed to take the pup on a morning walk. I can see a beautiful sunrise through my curtains -- how refreshing to walk and admire beautiful Mother Nature in the morning light!
09/21 - There's the drop! I won't lie, I didn't expect to drop down this low so quickly. Especially since I overate and needed to walk/jog in place during commercials and halftime to meet my step goal (7250) and thus get back in the green. It wasn't terrible food, but definitely not good. No veggies ): More water fore sure, which is likely why the water weight dropped so much so quick. Managed 16.5hr fast. Dinner was early last night so if I make it to 1130, it'll be a 17-17.5h fast (I'm estimating time last night, but I know we left the house after dinner at 7, so not my usual 730 finish time) Didn't get my walk in yesterday and, depending on rain, I'm not sure I'll get one in today. Going to try to sneak it in between rain! Its chilly out so I don't mind waiting until the sun warms things up a bit more. Time to stay hyper-focused to meet my goal -- I can tell in the mirror and by the heavy feeling, I have more bloat to drop. If I can keep on track, I think I can manage goal, or at least close to it!

Good morning everybody. So I've been missing for I'm not actually sure how many days, I'm sorry about that. Some combination of work, then weekend, then all the news, then not wanting to face the scale... either way, I shouldn't have done it and I'm glad I'm back this morning. Happy Tuesday and wishing everybody in this great community a wonderful day.

But I'm so happy about my fasting glucose it's hard to care about the scale today. I'm going to keep focusing more on exercise. Eating has gotten a lot easier in my house now that my boyfriend has really come to understand how important eating healthy is to me. He bought a weight watchers cookbook and I damn near cried. He's so supportive. Now I want to focus on not just getting exercise but really getting more fit. I've joined one of those silly online services, Obe, and they have a 28 day challenge I started yesterday. Onward and upward.

09/15 – 177.2 – Just a squeak down, but still in the right direction.
09/16 – 178.4 – I had an incredibly rough day yesterday and got take-out at the end of the day. I’m feeling better and time to get back on track.
09/17 – 178.4 – Still holding onto water from the take-out. I’m back to logging and stepping, but vacation is just around the corner. I won’t be weighing then but trying to we careful with what I eat.
09/18 – 177.6 – I managed to weigh my meals, log everything and get my steps in yesterday.

9/14 159.8 - Got a serious workout in this morning. It was a pilates fusion class.
9/15 160.4 Water retention from muscle soreness for sure. I have been eating around 1600 calories.
9/16...161.4 so strange 😕 (or maybe not)
9/17 160.4 yesterday (wed) was a reformer pilates day. I'm a little sore in my core. I finally got a good night's sleep. It seems like it takes 1-1/2 weeks without alcohol to get back to my natural, deep slumbers. Feeling rejuvinated!
9/18 160.4
9/19 159.0 Yay!
9/20 159.4
9/21 158.8 i didn't eat healthy over the weekend but I tracked everything and didn't go overboard. I also stayed alcohol free.
9/22 159.8 water weight again I think. Feeling menstrual cramps last night.5 -
@CamandJarvis I normally find the reverse true for me, my weekdays are so inactive, but the weekend I'm always busy. I do probably have a better routine at the weekend however. Flexitime at work is great, but it does mean that my weekday working hours are a little...flexible.
My weekends are really dependent on what's going on around town and weather. Football will give some level of routine, but not the best one there is. Luckily I get really into it, so I'll be jumping up and down, fidgeting, etc to keep semi-active. But things get crazy a lot. Exampe: I've been drinking my morning coffee on a Saturday only for BF to come in and say "get the swimsuit, we're going to the river" and that's that. I either sit at home and do nothing or I go cool off and have fun at the river with almost no notice. (BTW, I went to the river - thankfully the army taught me to get ready quickly haha)
My weeks, however, I have a rigid work schedule so it keeps me in line and focused there. Working from home (and starting a new job remote so little exposure and training) has left gaps in my day, but I fill those with household chores and errands I need to run.

Previous days
09/14 115.2 We did a soccer workout this morning with a lower intensity. That worked well because my body just wasn’t feeling quite right. I feel really sleepy today for some reason even though I feel like I slept okay.
Typical day food wise, I’ve been enjoying my switch in the morning by having eggs with thin sliced cheddar on Dave’s Killer Multi grain toast and then the other slice I add peanut butter and a drizzle of honey and have a side of fruit. Then, for my snack I’ll have fruit with yogurt and granola. Dinner tonight will be leftover roasted cabbage with CSA salad greens and whatever else I decide to add to it…I’m thinking I’ll eat more cantaloupe and yogurt for dessert because we are getting more melons in our share today!
09/15 114.0 Woo, back down to 114 😊. I’m happy I’ve been seeing this number more over the past month. It makes me know it’s more of my real weight now and not a low fluctuation. I went for a nice walk with my father in law this morning, and as we were heading back we spotted my husband walking back as well. I decided to extend my walk and my husband joined me on the extension, so it was a nice morning of walking a little less than 6 miles. The slightly cooler temps in our apartment are making it easier to sleep better, and I’m so happy about that. Sleep is so vital for me because if I don’t sleep well, I’m useless for the day when it comes to getting much done with work and whatever else. Food is looking pretty good for today, toast with egg and cheese for breakfast, roast pork with mashed potatoes for dinner with carrots and salad. I’m also excited to try the plums for my snack today that we got from our CSA yesterday!
09/16 114.0 We did a great soccer workout this morning! I’m excited today to go to the city and get my flu shot (not really excited for the shot, but it’s an excuse for all of my colleagues to meet outside and then eat lunch in the bright sun after we all get poked) I haven’t seen them in person since March, so it will be nice to have a real conversation and not on Skype or Zoom! I have a peanut butter sandwich on Dave’s Killer Multigrain bread packed and a fruit salad (apple, nectarine, and black berries) with yogurt for dessert 😊. Dinner will be roasted chicken drum sticks with salad and I will save room for lemon polenta cake that was given to us last night as part of the dinner train. Have a wonderful day everyone!
09/17 114.2 Went for a nice walk this morning and enjoyed the 60 degree weather. We plan on heading to NH tomorrow night to get away for a couple nights, and I’m so happy about that! Yesterday’s food went well and I stayed the course, except for adding roasted radishes and beets to dinner last night. This summer I realized that I love roasted radishes! They are so good roasted and get very mild tasting 😊. On the menu tonight for dinner is spinach ravioli with sauteed spigariello (also know as broccoli leaf), tomatoes, and scallions. The ravioli are good because they calories aren’t the worst for something quick. The entire package of 6 large ravioli are 410 calories. So my dinner should only clock in at 600ish calories with the sides. Busy day with work and just now getting around to posting! Have a good rest of your day!
09/18 114.2 We did a solid soccer workout this morning! It felt so good and I had lots of energy for it. I think I ate more than usual yesterday and I wonder if that helped my workout this morning. It makes me contemplate a much slower loss and only give myself a 100 calorie deficit instead of a 200-250 one during the week (on the weekend I give myself only a 75 calorie deficit). I’ll have to experiment and see how I feel. It could also be where I’m at in my cycle and it’s during the time where I’m supposed to have more energy for higher intensity workouts. So, who knows? What I do know is that I lost a pound of water weight during my workout today because I was 113.2 post workout. I weight myself after just to see how much I need to hydrate afterwards.
This afternoon we are off to NH, so I probably won’t be posting on Saturday or Sunday. We plan on going for a drive to go through some towns we’ve never been to and also waving to the Canadian border because I’ve never been up that far by car. (We went to Jasper, Canada by plane about 4 or 5 years ago...my goodness was that place SPECTACULARLY BEAUTIFUL! Oh how I miss it there!)
Well, have a good weekend everyone!
09/19 away
09/20 away
09/21 117.6 Ugh, salty foods all weekend. I really didn’t want to even post that but I’m back to it today. I know it’s salt but it’s still really annoying. We went for a chilly 4 mile walk this morning. I don’t think I’m ready for the chilly weather yet but just have to accept it’s here. Looking forward to eating some healthier food today. I plan on making a soup to use up some greens that didn’t get eaten from the CSA. I think I’ll put some beans and scallions in it too! Typing this out reminds me that I need to go soak some cannellini beans for the soup.
09/22 115.8 We did a nice soccer workout this morning with lots of running because it was a frosty 38 degrees this morning! Last night, the bean and greens soup came out pretty good. When I have some today, I think I’m going to add more spices to jazz it up a bit and change up the flavor a touch.
Breakfast this morning will be oatmeal with apples, blueberries, peanut butter, honey, and cinnamon. I’m not sure what my snack will be, but dinner will be Harrow’s chicken pot pie that is part of the dinner train. I plan on having some soup on the side to help fill me up before eating the chicken pot pie. Heading back I the right direction again 😊.

Round 126
Month/Day: Weight / Comment
09/14: 209.4 / This is the reading with which I started the last round. Déjà vu? Let’s hope not. Back at it for another round.
09/15: 208.0 / Ate reasonably well yesterday and had a nice evening walk with DW. I need to examine each day, or else…
09/16: 207.2 / Have a good Wednesday everyone! DW is watching DGS today, so I had a couple small pancakes for breakfast. (I benefit from the leavings of the prince. I had to hurry because he was shoveling them in! Ha!) I will need to make some other kind of sacrifice to pay for the pancakes.
09/17: 208.2 / Pancakes were not the only poor decision yesterday. And I had meetings all day yesterday and into the evening. Not a lot of movement. Actually, I am happy with this small gain.
09/18: 208.4 / Going to try today to use my mouth more as a “word hole” and less as a “pie hole.” Hard to do as an introvert.
09/19: 211.4
09/20: 212.2
09/21: 209.8 / OK, this past weekend was a combination Pumpkin Festival (Pumpkin Pie, Pumpkin Chili, Brats, BBQ,etc.) and 45th High School class reunion (gatherings and meals with old friends.) So I will forgive myself, but on the other hand I want to guard against what typically happens this time of year. Seems like Fall going into Winter is always packed with temptation.
As you can see by my last few days I can add or lose three pounds in one day. That is why I don’t get overwrought if the reading is high, nor do I get too ecstatic if the reading is low. Keeping an eye on the big picture.

Day/Weight/Comment
09/14 202.1 I didn’t realize that losing the time for my evening walk would be such a large loss to my weight loss goals but it is. That’s the time can push myself to peak and it’s gone. I barely got to peak this week without it. No excuses. Eating healthy but finding time to workout is a struggle. I got 8 minutes in early this morning of aerobics.
09/15 201.1 Yesterday 11331 steps calories 1413 calories lunch walk and nothing else.
09/16 200.0 Yesterday 15604 steps 1249 calories 8 minute am aerobics, lunch walk, 10 minute evening walk. So close! so close! So close!
09/17 198.7 mike drop! Now to keep the trend going…I went out to eat last night, and ate 50% of my plate. Clam strip and fries. Not too many I filled up easily.
09/18 199.5 still holding on 15058 steps yesterday and 1340 in calories. Have you ever noticed that stress makes you heart race and burn more calories. I do not recommend it though?
09/19 199.8 stayed under 200 but creeping upwards. I am seeing a significant difference in my body but it come with some flabbiness. I need a routine for strength training. With two 3 year old time management is difficult.
09/20 200.8 15518 steps 1725 calories in. not going crazy about it. Just going to keep working hard. 45 minute walk 8 minute zumba routine.
09/21 199.7 11144 steps 1288 in calories Yesterday two 15 minute aerobic session. Just enough to keep me going.
09/22 199.6 12460 steps 1745 calories 12 minute aerobics in the AM half hour lunch walk. My egg muffins were very salty for breakfast yesterday, I drank a lot of water to dilute all the salt.

@CamandJarvis A few rounds ago I was especially thirsty. The more water I drank, the thirstier I'd get, even drinking 120+ oz of water on the daily. I still take a full water bottle with me to bed and drink about 10 oz during the night. One of our folks on here thought maybe I was in was ketosis. Anyway, still thirsty. Still pounding the H20. Guess there is no harm in it since my numbers are not in the pre-diabetic range.4

09/14: 170.6 (down 1.0 lb from yesterday) Another great running day yesterday, yay for fall! Calories were a little low yesterday, I think caused a headache and bit of nausea around bed time. Need to be better today with making sure I am eating enough of the right things to fuel my body properly.
09/15: 170.1 (down .5 lb from yesterday) Yesterday was my daughter's 1st day of high school (fully remote learning), so we ordered in pizza (her favorite) for dinner. I weighed mine on the food scale and had 2 slices with a salad and stayed in a deficit. Success! Husband is home for dinner tonight, so I am cooking family meal this evening and then we are having friends over to social distance outside so today will not be AF. I've pre-logged 3 drinks, but hopefully plan on just having 2. Going for a run on my lunch hour, which will be much needed with the extra calories planned for today. Will still be in a deficit, just on the higher end of my calories, so I might see a bump up on the scale in the next 1-2 days, but I am okay with that. Super close to being under 170!
09/16: 169.2 (down .9 from yesterday) Under 170!!! Now need this to stick and then keep on dropping:)Yesterday was a good day....went on a run with my husband, made a yummy family dinner, & then enjoyed drinks with friends (while social distancing). Downside of drinking last night, woke up super, crazy hungry which normally does not happen when I am fasting. Also due to drinking last night, my fast started later than normal, so not sure I will get the full 16 hours today, but will at least go for 14 hours. Will be drinking lots & lots of water this morning.
09/17: 172.4 (up 3.2 lbs from yesterday) No, I did not gain 3.2 lbs in 24 hours! Woke up yesterday with an very bad allergic reaction, arms covered in hives, so had to go on a quick round of steroids. When I take these I immediately bounce up around 5 lbs if not more. Not a real gain and will drop right back down and soon as I finish the medication. So I knew this was coming this morning. It's annoying but not discouraging, will keep on doing what I've been doing.
09/18: 172.2 (down .2 from yesterday) Still dealing with allergic reaction and steroids causing elevated weight
09/19: 172.4 (up .2 from yesterday) A couple more days left on steroids, so won't be seeing the scale drop until then. Gorgeous fall day here, was 58 degrees on my run today! Perfect running weather
09/20: 172.4 (no change from yesterday). Last day of steroids, hoping to see a drop on the scale tomorrow! On plan today another run in great weather and husband is home today, so cooking family meal tonight.
09/21: 172.4 (no change from yesterday) Good day yesterday, 20 hour fast, gorgeous day, cool fall temps on my run, delicious family dinner while still on the low end of my calories, and alcohol free.
09/22: 171.0 (down 1.4 from yesterday) Here's some of the steroid "gain" dropping off! Still dealing with allergic reaction but it is lessoning. One more day to this challenge, not going to make my goal but will just get after it in the next one!

9/14 - 181.6 - 1596 - snack late in lieu of dinner - pear, Eng muffin w/cheese
Weird eating day yesterday as DH wanted pizza (veggie) for lunch. I kept my calories reasonable, but ate later than planned (wasnt hungry at supper time, but I was later). Probably same today with leftover pizza, but I’m planning my day better. @quiltingjaine, I’m reading Life in the Fasting Lane and am thinking of trying it. Actually no snacks between dinner (we eat early) and breakfast pretty much does it, I think. We shall see. Off for a walk.
9/15 - 182.8 - 1756 - snack 🍨
Today’s the day. Cutting refined carbs as much as possible, starting with a cheese omelette for breakfast instead of cereal. I had ice cream last night and savored it as my last indulgence until I drop at least 20 pounds. I’m making salmon salad for lunch — yummy with broccoli slaw. If I fill up on protein, fat, and veggies 🧀🥚🍳🥦🥕🥒🥬, I shouldn’t crave snacks later. This time I mean it. I feel ready, if that makes any sense. Also, I refinished a dresser over the weekend — got it cheap, banged up. Here it is now.
9/16 - 181.4 - 1086 - no snacks ⭐️
I had a good day yesterday. Now to rinse and repeat!
9/17 - 181 - 1278 - no snacks ⭐️
Two days in a row without snacking. Yay! I was really hungry last night watching a movie, but I held out. I know partly that’s trained hunger that will pass eventually. Onward!
9/18 - 181 - 1723 - snack muesli & almond milk
A minor slip. A friend in coming for late breakfast in the garden, and wanted a Panera Bread bear claw. DH wanted an Asiago bagel. I made the Panera run and got Greek yogurt with mixed berries For myself. Is my halo all nice and sparkly or what?
9/19 - 182 - 1546 - no snacks, but late dinner because other meals were late.
Delayed reaction from Thursday, I’m sure. Beautiful weather here — sunny and 60s. I’m going to relocate some plants, the go for a long walk along the river.
9/20 - 181.4 - 1585 - snack small 🍨
Not too bad yesterday, considering I was really down. I wanted to eat my way through, but didn’t, other than 1 oatmeal raisin cookie (77 cal) and a half cup of ice cream. DH made a pot of fabulous 15-bean soup for dinner and to freeze. I don’t really like bean soup, but this is delicious! Anyway, today I’m trying to busy my way out of depression. Have a good Sunday, all.
9/21 - 181.2 - 1668 - ugh, triscuits
Okie dokie. Not spectacular, but not up either. Two more days on the round, so maybe I can still get below 181. That would be fun. It’s supposed to be in the 70s here all week, so I’ll be planting bulbs and spending as much time outdoors as possible. Have a great week, all!
9/22 - 182.2 - 1498 - more triscuits; gotta stop it!
Dag nabbit! Delayed response again. Hopefully it will drop off to end the round. I am clearly in a maintenance funk.

9/14 116.0 Life is good. It has occurred to me that yesterday’s lower weight was probably brought to me by sleeping until 10 rather than 6 or 6:30.
9/15 116.0
9/16 116.0
9/17 116.0 Had Great Greek salad yesterday with steak, side of melitzanosalada and a whole pita. I have added longer periods of fasting so had about 17 hours yesterday band will have at least 19 today.
9/18 117.0 Well, that’s the carb bounce from 2 days ago and there may be more tomorrow. I fasted 22 hours, from 4PM 9/16 to 2PM 9/17 and had a 2.5 hour eating window before starting my IF period.
9/19 118.0 Went to PF yesterday for the first time since before COVID. Trying to do things that are similar to what I do at physical therapy so I have a routine when those sessions are over. My thighs really feel the pain today! No TMI x 2 days. And I haven’t made BPC in almost a week!
9/20 117.0 Smoke was terrible in the morning. No gym, my inner thighs were so sore I could hardly walk but it was a GOOD SORE! Shopping yesterday so lots of steps overall.
9/21 116.0 FINALLY! My legs aren’t killing me. Back to the gym this morning. Lesson learned-I hope!!
9/22 116.5 I was craving salt last night so . . . I ate some! Yup, just ate salt and more salt with salted cucumber slices and salted almonds! Salt, salt salt! LOL Good workout at the gym yesterday and PT today.7 -

Day/Weight/Walking distance/Comment:
9/14 167.2 Walked 3.01 Rough trail walk yesterday. Had to do a little rock climbing, nothing too hard but strenuous workout. No clue why my weight is up again today. I have been watching my calories and sodium. Maybe retaining water from tough workouts?
9/15 167.0 Walked 3.05 East breezy walk last night. You guys I love my bf but he makes the weirdest food combinations. Air fried chicken breast - with mushroom pho noodle bowl. He's so proud of himself because he checked the calories and they were both good. Of course not a veggie in sight but he's thinking about my food needs and I appreciate that so much. The sun is shining today, no problem getting a walk in today!
9/16 165.9 Walked 5.08 Beautiful weather, trail close to the house. I guess that bump was water weight as it's gone now.
9/17 166.2 Walked 2.03 Short walk, didn't have a lot of time. Why do I eat Asian food? The calories can be low (if you watch the sauces) and there are a lot of veggies, but the sodium. Oh well. Weather is beautiful again, trying to think of somewhere different to go tonight.
9/18 166.4 Hiked 2.02 I didn't have enough time to do more and I was trying a new part of a trail I do occasionally. I found out it's mostly for bikes, apparently. I almost got ran over so I didn't mind cutting it short. The west side of the road is for hikers and the east side is for mountain bikes, as the biker explained. One very nicely, the other guy was a jerk. If there are no signs, and the website doesn't say anything how are people supposed to know this unwritten rule. Someone almost runs me down and then yells at me. Oh well. Luckily the opinion of a 24 year old mountain biker isn't an important one to me. Happy Friday!!!
9/19 165.8 Hiked 4.03 Had a doc appt and walked after. Everything went well there, my BP was lower than it had been and I got my flu shot.
9/20 164.9 Hiked 1.08 Took the baby with me on a hike in the woods. I cannot recommend strongly enough taking a three year old on a hike in the woods. We walk a little bit in and she says this isn't scary, no tigers, no dinos. We're playing hide-n-seek here. Where is she???
9/21 164.8 Walked 0 Took yesterday off from walking. I had a good day. Went to the farmer's market with the baby and then we went to my BF's house where he was playing with her. Seriously is there anything cuter than that? Him dancing with her to Paw Patrol music about stole my heart. I'm so glad he quit that job that had him travel so much.
9/22 164.8 Hiked 3.25 Lovely hike yesterday after work. The weather was perfect though I'm already running out of sunshine. I have to start leaving work at 4:30ish to get a long walk in. One more day of this round I really hope to drop a little more tomorrow, though I'm happy with any loss at all.8 -

Goal -150 Alcohol only on weekends, exercise daily, plenty of water, no bread.
9/14-163-The weekend...I’m just glad it’s Monday and we are starting a new round. Good luck everyone! I’m glad you are here!
☕️👋
9/15-162-Went to a quilt class, no time for exercise....came home, started dinner and joined quilt guild on zoom. Busy.
9/16-Garden club mtg outdoors at park, sewed and walked 2 miles before dinner. Chips & guac, not a good idea. At least I didn’t drink beer with them. Bike ride this morning.
9/17-163-Popcorn late in the afternoon; I’ve got to stop that.No bike ride yesterday, but I sure got a lot of sewing done in my biking clothes😂. Lots of stuff to do today, but plan to get the bike ride in.
9/18-162-Walked 3 miles. The air is finally better and the days are getting cooler!
9/21-DNW-Our boys came to visit for the weekend, lots of food and fun. Going to help garden club work on the downtown pots to keep them pretty.
9/22-162-Still suffering the repercussions from the fun weekend. They are chopping all of the corn that grows along my bike road, which means piles of truck and trailers on the dirt road, so no bike ride today. It is so fun to watch though! It’s silage for the dairy’s and it get hauled to a dairy, unloaded and packed into a giant pile by a huge tractor and covered for feed all year.7 -

Round 125 SW 191.8 EW 188.3 (-3.5)

It would be fantastic to reach 186.x this round, as that will take me out of the obese BMI and into overweight instead.

Day, Weight, Comment
09/14 188.6 I definitely made a post but it seems to have been eaten by the internet. Ah well try again!
09/15 188.6 again is good for me. I was expecting a stall after the drop from last round, and my dinner was quite salty last night. I also decided to eat a few more calories bc I was so very hungry. So I tried to eat at maintenance calories, I'm feeling better today and shooting for 1300 to maintain my downward trajectory
09/16 188.8 welp I was looking over my old weight loss entries from 2017 (lost 30 lbs!) and I noticed that I would stay the same for several days and then lose a couple pounds all at once. I think I'm just not an incremental loser, my body is stubborn but if I'm patient it will get on board with the program. Estimated calories yesterday 1224.
09/17 188.6 still hanging in here but my BF % was low, so maybe I have some water weight hanging around. My estimated calories yesterday were 1375 so a bit higher. shooting for 1300 today.
09/18 188.0 the scale budged! Good news~ and I even saw 187.x flash on there but try as I might I couldn't get it to cooperate, haha! Total estimated calories yesterday was 1477 higher than I wanted but I needed some chocolate in my life bad. I have to eat light today to save some cals for the dinner party tonight, which I am hosting. My contribution is beef and potato picnic pies and a big pan of roasted ginger carrots. Maybe a spinach salad also with walnuts, strawberries and feta.
09/19 187.2 this is exciting! I feel a bit dehydrated tho. drinking water, daughter's birthday dinner with family and birthday cake tonight I am going to try to pre
log my food so I can stay in bounds.
09/20 191.0 well all my partying caught up with me I suppose. Eating light and drinking water today, also enjoyed this amazing weather today and took the pup for a 3 mile walk.
09/21 189.2 on the way back down> I hope the rest goes quickly so this round isn't toast! I was doing so well and only 2 days left to make up for it, ugh!
09/22 188.4 at least it's (a TINY BIT) below my starting weight, lol. Let's hope it sticks or drops for tomorrow. Total calories yesterday 1389.

Day/Weight/Comment
09/14 141.0 I decided to incorporate my spoiler showing my round history. I finally feel like I've gained momentum in this process. Focusing on *maintenance*, not just the weight loss this time around. But my mini goal is to track my daily goals so I can hopefully get into the 130s again by hitting 139 this round.
09/15 141.8 Slightly up, but only slightly. Hit my goals yesterday and on track for the same today.
09/16 141.2 Hit my goals yesterday. Feeling very sore today and my back is killing me, so I'm going to be doing an arm workout for my 10 minutes today. I skipped dessert because I didn't feel like it, and I have to admit, I was hoping for a lower number today. But it's too early to call this a plateau. This is just the normal slowness of the process. More than anything, I'm waiting for that day when I *feel* lighter. I still feel ick.
09/17 142.2 I know I'm not truly up a pound, but I am still ready to see a lower number. I didn't hit my exercise goal yesterday, but I only had 1132 calories, so I'm not overeating by any means. Just have to keep plugging along.
09/18 140.2 Met all three goals yesterday. Anyone else give yourself a little pep talk right before you hop on the scale? ("If it's higher than yesterday, that's okay, it's just a fluctuation. If it's lower, awesome, but even if it's the same, remember, you're doing great!"). I couldn't weigh daily if I didn't psych myself up for it every time because the ups and downs- especially when you're doing everything 'right'- can be so demoralizing otherwise. Needless to say, though, I was happy to see this number going into the weekend. Let's stay focused on our goals over the next two days, everyone! No sad Monday weigh-ins.
09/19 142.2 No exercise yesterday, hit the other two goals. Good thing I do those pre-weigh in pep talks! The weird thing is that today is the first day I actually woke up *feeling* thinner. Starting to feel a little less fat in the hips, and a little less in the stomach when I sit up straight, too. So I'm happy! A scale fluctuation is just that. I AM SEEING PROGRESS! Today marks one month since I restarted this challenge, and and even with today's bounce upward, I've lost a solid 5 lbs!
09/20 140.0 I knew it! Glad I trusted my knowledge of my body and not the dumb scale. It's meant to be a learning tool, not a torture device. Only 2/3 goals met yesterday (no exercise).
09/21 140.8 Still on track. No exercise yesterday, however.
09/22 140.0 No exercise yesterday. I've been 140 for four out of the past five days, and I feel a change coming (hopefully, it's a 139!). Today should be motivating for us all because it's the last day of round. Let's make it a strong finish, everyone!

Hi. I'm Dawn in SE BC Canada
60 years old
MFP start weight Oct 28.18 - 191
This will be my 32nd round of the 10 day challenge. I started at round 95
Round 1 EW - 158.4
Round 31 EW 142.9
09/14 - 142.7 - A few more days before I go away on holiday - I might be a nerd and take my scale with me.
09/15 - 142.4
09/16 - 142.3 - I do plan to be a bit indulgent over my birthday vacation, but not go crazy. If I do gain a little I will be okay with that. Getting closer to my 50 pound loss now.
09/17 - 141.7 - Good to see this number before heading out on vacay this morning.
09/18 - 142.3 - Happy with this number. Yes, I brought my scale with me
09/19 - 141.6 - Less stress on vacation, more movement.
09/20 - 141.0 - I hit my 50 pound loss today, great birthday present : - ) I am okay if I fluctuate from here, perfect timing (and of course hard work) to hit that number today. I go from obese to just overweight today : - )
09/21 - 142.3 - I kind of expect it to go up more, still away on holiday. That was a real gift getting the good number on my birthday. I am feeling lean-ish and doing lots of hiking, but no kitchen so food choices will catch up with me. Thank you for the birthday wishes!! : - )
09/22 - 142.9 - I expect this to go back down, I was hiking for 3 hours yesterday in the mountains after my morning zumba workout, so that should catch up over the next few days

09/20. 141.6. Bike ride today and water volley ball.
09/21. 141.6. Errand day with lots of running around. Homemade chicken soup to last a couple of days.

Guess there is no harm in it since my numbers are not in the pre-diabetic range.
I've gone through this before but it seems so much worse than normal. I know my numbers aren't even close to pre-diabetic a couple months ago and I've cleaned up my diet since then. No worries there! Its odd. But I am sleeping in the daughter's bedroom with the pup while BF still recovers from surgery and her room is bitter cold. I can't even sleep with the fan on which usually I can overcome by bundling up well. A giant down comforter, weighted blanket, and a big fluffy blanket (the short end of the blanket is taller than me!) can't even keep me warm! Wondering if the cold is getting to me a week after I moved into it.6 -

Day/Weight/BF%/comment
9/14: 226.0 (+0.6)/19.2 (+0.1).
9/15: 226.8 (+0.8/19.3 (+0.1).
9/16: 227.6 (+0.8)/19.3 (0.0).
9/17: 225.8 (-1.8)/19.1 (-0.2). @quiltingjaine I'm here! I was logging in to post when I caught your notification... I swear! Getting traction has been a real problem for me recently. I'm not eating terribly, but I'm been pretty stuck at home for more than a week with the wildfires (VERY unhealthy air). As if COVID-19 wasn't enough! I'm still weighing in every day. I'm still trying to eat the best that I can. Until the air gets better, exercise really isn't a healthy option. For now, I'm just trying to maintain.
9/18: 225.4 (-0.4)/19.1 (0.0). I had takeout for lunch (I went in to work yesterday), and I had Thai food: it was an amazing cut of beef with lots of steamed vegetables and a little rice. I could have easily finished it (even if I was uncomfortable), but I saved half of it for dinner. My brother-in-law and his girlfriend are coming over tonight to watch the Laker game. We're going to have a "Scotch flight" set up (a gift from me to my wife), but I will stick with hard liquor tonight (not more than three ounces, I think). I'm going to try to get some exercise in today (some pull-ups and push-ups at least).
9/19: 225.6 (+0.2)/19.1 (0.0).
9/20: 224.2 (-1.4)/19.0 (-0.1). I was a little "snacky" last night, but overall I did okay. I've been pretty frustrated lately with my recent ups and downs, but I'm REALLY good MOST meals. Not just most days. Even on a day when I would say I'm "off-plan," I'm STILL mostly on-plan. I feel like I'm working pretty hard; I'm just hoping that the scale starts to agree with me a little more often. Air quality here is still terrible; I want to get back to exercising ASAP.
9/21: 222.6 (-1.6)/18.8 (-0.2). I'm going to be very mindful in this moment. I'm happy with my weigh-in today, but my post yesterday is still valid; what I do in the long-term is still key to my success. That being said, I am in control of every bite and every sip that enters my system as well. At any moment I can make a choice to consume, or to pass, on ANYTHING. I'm feeling a little yin and yang here. Both situations are true, even if they seem to conflict with each other on some level. I also can't deny how good it feels to have some tangible evidence that I am back on the right track.
9/22: 222.0 (-0.6)/18.7 (-0.1). Food intake is continuing to go well. I'm trying to "work in" some exercise, but still limited by air quality. This round is going to end up being pretty good. My progress chart agrees with me.

@whitej1234
It's an Apple program called "Happy Scale."
If you have an Android phone, "Libra" is pretty great, too. I included a pic of Libra below.
I hate Apple in general, but I REALLY love Happy Scale.
