Like many others, my weather changed overnight also. I woke to the sound of rain and it was a chilly 53F and windy. I waited until I caught a break in the rain and headed out. I got about 2 miles in before it started raining again but thankfully, the thunder held off until I was finished.

@camaramandy648 – Amazing mileage lady! Congratulations!
Way to go Pavement Pounders -- @Tramboman and @kgirlhart!
Wahoo @WandaVaughn for making your goal! Stay up there in those clouds as long as you want. I hear the air is so much better! I’m glad the lost person was found safely and hopefully this will be the wake-up call that she needs.
Keep it up @Mari33a! You’ve almost made your PastorVincent challenge mileage!
@polskagirl01 – I’m blaming you for my nightmares about frogs last night!

Insightful conversation about running safely. I’ve been blessed so far to not have any run-ins with any unsavory or questionable characters and I’m sorry for those of you who have had that experience. I think it’s a good reminder when we “talk” about it like this to remember not to let our guards down whether we be male or female.

CONGRATS @TRAMBOMAN AND @kgirlhart !!!!! YOU ARE BADASS!

@Faebert @quilteryoyo thank you! @TheMrWobbly Thank you! Also - proud of you! I appreciate that there will be no "there, there, now." I hate that and I hate when people come to me for it. Sunday, my kids' dad was complaining to me that he got a new job (which he really needed) and had to get up early the next day.... then apologized for complaining to me because I had just finished running 31 miles that day. I told him.... it's fine. Running and being nervous about a new job are not the same thing but COME ON! Stop being a baby! Of course, I know, there is a time and place for being compassionate and empathetic. But lord.

@RunsOnEspresso yes! Jero's Journey. That's the one! I probably am not doing 500 miles - but I do plan to see how many times I can complete each loop of the 100. I am not sure how it will go - my right ankle seems to not be super happy with me at the moment.

@quilteryoyo good to know about the toenail. I am just trying to not mess with them. I don't want to go to the dr for it. That seems silly.

No running yesterday and probably not tonight either. First of all, I promised I'd watch tv with my son and play with his dinosaurs with him. We spent SO LONG looking for them last night! Definitely no running tomorrow - it's dinner with Nick and Sophie and family night.

    So Thursday, maybe.

I'm also okay with just like maybe sleeping. :D I think I will feel more normal by tomorrow. That is my hope, anyway.

    Fantastic @WandaVaughn

Apparently PMs don't always get through if you are not friends so if somebody doesn't get a reply drop me a friend request.

Hi All - meant to post this yesterday but the day got away from me. Too many things going on and by the end of the day the last thing I wanted to do was sit at the computer!
@WandaVaughn - That feeling is absolutely the best! I think you will continue to be amazed at what you can do!
@kgirlhart - I hate when we start worrying about our kids even when they are grown! Sometimes though I just have this terrible feeling and if I haven't heard from her I will text just to make sure everything is ok. I hope the run helped and you had a better day.
Also congratulations to you and @Tramboman for your Pavement Pounders success!!
@Camaramandy648 - hope you get some rest. Sounds like your body could use it after all the work and miles you are putting it through!

I got a run in yesterday. It wasn't great. I feel like after the PM adjustment it is starting all over again but I am confident it will improve over time again. My head phones also died a mile into my run and I just didn't feel like turning back to charge or get different ones. So as a result I listened to the birds, and my huffing and puffing and my feet hitting the ground. It made me hyper aware of every little niggle. I do have a very sore/stiff glute, I guess. It is hard to figure exactly where it hurts. Could be hamstring and maybe groin... just strange and it is worse outside of running so when doing my HIIT class today, lunges and squats were OMG, standing and sitting is tough but foam rolling is helping so I will keep that up.
Agility class was super tough and super fun and Hobbes and I came home exhausted. He was sound asleep and snoring in the car on the way home (only a 15min drive). It is interesting to see how a challenging course can really wipe him out even if it isn't the most physically difficult. I am also realizing that he is getting older and probably can't do too many more 'doubles', running and agility on the same day or back to back runs two days in a row, any longer. ☹️
Yesterday when I was running I got to see one of the ospreys that lives along our river. It was up in a dead tree and while I was taking pictures it started vocalizing. I have never heard one before (or didn't realize that was what I was hearing so I turned on video on my phone. Of course then it stopped so I waited and just before I was going to give up it started again. I was pretty excited!

@shanaber I missed that they adjusted your PM again. I hope it does better this time, once it has had a chance to "learn" your needs. Glad you and Hobbes enjoyed the agility class. How old is he? Love the Osprey. I don't think I have ever heard them vocalize either. Pretty cool.

Thanks for starting the Oct challenge @skippygirlsmom !

I took dad to the VA this morning. They surgically removed a skin cancer from his nose. He has stitches, but not sure how many. I didn't ask and it is bandaged. The doctor did say, when he came back in the room after the removal, "just a couple more stitches and he'll be ready to go." Anyway, he is pretty sure he was able to get it all and it shouldn't grow back. Dad is starting to have a lot of these small cancers pop up. I guess it's all those years of farming and fishing, not worrying about the sun, finally catching up with him. Just has to leave the Band-Aids on a couple of days and we get the stitches out on the 8th. I am so thankful that he has the VA.

I thought about doing a treadmill run when I got home, but it is a rainy, cool day. One of those days that just begs you to lay down on the couch, cover up, watch tv, and take a nap. Who am I to say no to that?

@TheMrWobbly what a nice offer of mutual support. Definitely can relate to the "why bother" feeling every now and then. It seems especially tough right now not really knowing when things are going to potentially get better in general. No hugs, but I hear you.

Great job @WandaVaughn! Always amazing to think of what your "old self" would think of your "new self" and what you've accomplished. Well done.

@kgirlhart hope you had a better day after your good run! And congrats to you and @Tramboman on your run the year goal!

@shanaber sorry about your bad run. Cool pics and video of the osprey though!

@skippygirlsmom thanks for starting October for us - that one snuck up on me.

@quilteryoyo hope your dad is doing well. And hope you enjoyed a rainy day snuggled on the couch. That sounds perfect.

I caught a lucky break this morning and managed a short run with only light sprinkles before yoga. It wasn't much but I avoided the treadmill and didn't get soaked.

Garmin tells me my run was "slow" - do you guys use the Connect app where it now color codes from blue to red for fast to slow on your route? It seems pretty random sometimes when the pace is the same from one run to the next but the color is completely different? I don't understand it's methods and frankly I don't care for it's judgement. ;)

I noticed the colors and looked at them but haven't really paid close attention. I think it may he based off your average pace?
