I miss wearing lipstick. It seems pointless now because when I go out I wear a mask. At the beginning of all this I did lipstick poll on my Instagram to determine which lipstick all my followers (all 300 of them, lol, such a celebrity here - note the sarcasm) liked best. It was fun actually. Maybe lll post a selfie with the top 3.8

Go for it! I'd love to see the winners.
I buy lipstick and lipgloss but don't wear it. I think this is a throwback to my days as a smoker when wearing lipstick was a total waste and just made a mess of your cigarette.3 -

Question for you lovelies, figured this may the best place to ask (sorry if I'm de-railing Cakey, just figured these make-up girlies may have a tip or two)
If you have a great hair day or professional blow out - any tips or tricks to keeping it pretty while running or a serious sweat session working out?
3 -
Every day is a great hair day 😉
Curly Girls may...
* do a "pineapple" or "ploop" (aka big, messy top bun)
* braid loosely and secure with a snag-free elastic or a few bobby pins (I like milkmaid style but fishtail works too)
* wear a headband to catch sweat on your perimeter
When I used to treadmill run, I had to ensure the fan on the machine was working before starting. These days, I'm not in the gym so many of my workouts are outside. That means I'm not usually dripping sweat due to the breeze and such.
I dunno what happens with looser/non-curly hair patterns.3 -

I have never had a blow out (turns in my girl card). I use dry shampoo on occasion. It works best to apply the night before and only on the roots.1 -

Being a guy and knowing how we use the term “having a blow out” this made me chuckle 😂5 -

This is one possibility. Another is undoing your belt as you are running to the bathroom. 🤷♂️3 -
Always wear Lipstick, even when using Chainsaws and Power tools LOL 😋 but on occasion I go all out with my make-up! 😉💋

@GymGoddessGoals
I’ve never had a “blow out” either. But I’ve also not been to a salon in many years.🤷🏻♀️
This does not compute.

Does it count if I’m still a licensed barber/cosmetologist. I have trust issues with people who do hair since they like to chop my hair right off.
this literally happened to me just today4 -

Thank You Sweetness! 🤗
I haven't been to a salon either but to trim my ends and that was about three years ago. Why pay when you can do it yourself? 😉😁0 -

Yeah, I don’t get it. It’s been 7 years for me. 🙄
@sweet_ermengarde
Oh no! I’m sorry. I’m sure you look great but it’s principle of the matter. I know how/why it happens sometimes. But the last time it happened she just wanted to do it.
okay she is literally my best friend or one of four or five people that are my best friend so i trust her but it’s short and i hate it and the only person i showed said i probably didn’t look like a boy4 -
Re: blow outs. I got a combo rotating brush / hairdryer thingy for Christmas, found out it worked really well as a substitute for a salon blowout, and then of course Covid happened and nobody was worrying about blowouts anymore! These days I just shove my messy curls in a ponytail, no one sees me except people I pass on the trails while running!
Anyway if you’re missing salons try a hot brush, mine was inexpensive and surprised me at how quick and easy it was to use.
Other than that I have no insights into how to stretch a blowout over a run day, by the time I finish a sweaty run my hair is all salty, even with a headband. Gotta wash it and start over.2 -
This was a hair color and blowout I did myself after 6 months of waiting for the hair salons to be open (they opened up a couple of weeks later) My hair is stick straight and it takes a lot (a lot!) of heat to force it to hold any wave or curl. I will go running before I get my hair done then plan on having a rest day (or two) the next day so I can enjoy the hairstyle one more day since I end up a sweaty mess nearly every time I exercise
