The first 4 years I lost 25 pounds and the last 2 years I lost 54 pounds more. It has been a long journey but I have learned SO MUCH: cooking healthy foods, planning what I eat, making better choices. When I lost enough weight to be under 100 lbs I promised myself I would never, ever weigh 100 again, and I haven't. I still would like to lose enough weight to no longer in the obese category. My current goal. I am getting close.
I think I might be misunderstanding.
You want to weigh less than 100lbs and then you still want to lose weight so you are no longer obese? I am curious how tall you are.4 -
Today I fit into a size 18 jeans and a 3x sports bra for the first time in more than 10 years.
I am officially small enough to buy clothes in 'normal' stores again.24 -
We unexpectedly went to Fuddrucker's for lunch on Saturday. Rather than freaking out or throwing in the towel I had a turkey burger instead of beef, ditched the bun as too many not-worth-it calories, added extra toppings to make a pseudo-salad, and only ate about 3/4 of the tater tots. The meal could easily have been twice the number of calories but I made it work. Gotta let life in!27

Yesterday I went to a baby shower. I put on my most snug pair of skinny jeans only to have them falling off of me. While there, I only ate a mini turkey sub and a cupcake and skipped the chips and soda and didn't feel deprived at all!19

I finally bought new underwear. From XL to M.
Its such a weird feeling to have my pants fit and my underwear falling off underneath them so size aside, new underwear is a happy occasion. The size is a happy bonus since I was just gonna go to L.
Also finally got my bench press to 55 lbs. I know that seems like a weenie weight to most people but I seriously have no arm strength. Haven't since I broke my elbow in 2012.39 -
So two things to share: #1 - I haven't been in a grocery store since the very beginning of March, before we starting working from home due to Covid. My teenage son works at a grocery store, so I have him do all of the grocery shopping. But this weekend, he and I went to the grocery store together. The reason I wanted to go was I am tired of eating the same things all the time and wanted to go to the store and see what new foods I could pick out. Well, I am pleased to report that even though I haven't been in a store for over 7.5 months, I didn't get sucked in by foods I used to purchase. I stuck to the right foods!! I looked at labels of new foods I was interested in - and didn't get sucked in to things that "looked" healthy.
#2 - One of the things we had to buy at the store was Halloween candy for trick or treat. I let my son pick out whatever kind he wanted for us to hand out. In the past, I would have picked based on what I personally wanted, so that I could pick out some candy before, and/or after. But this time, those thoughts didn't even cross my mind. I couldn't even tell you what we ended up buying other than to say two big bags of chocolate stuff and one bag of non-chocolate stuff.
This, is progress.29 -
I had to do mandatory saturday at work yesterday and they brought in donuts. In the past, I usually couldnt wait for my break time to go eat a couple. I would think about it every minute, mouth watering. Lol. Well, yesterday, they announced donuts are here and I just went on with my business, not caring about donuts at all and just went outside during my break.
At my office, shared, unwrapped food is banned until further notice. I’m hoping when they start allowing it again that I have your strength. You inspired me today.
I baked treats for friends on Saturday (an excuse to get rid of all the white flour and butter in the house) and didn’t taste-test anything. Even when I delivered my friend’s birthday cake yesterday and he offered me some, I turned it down.

Finally mastered a proper pushup (well, I actually managed 6 before my form went bad!). By "proper" I mean finally not from my knees!29

Ran 7 miles on Saturday. Most miles I have ever ran.39

I got catcalled walking down the street today. Last time that happened I was probably 4 years younger and 50 pounds lighter so it was flattering to know I'm moving back in that direction 😂16

My area isn’t super bike friendly if you actually want to go somewhere (as opposed to just an out and back spin on the green line), but I figured out a way to get to Target, so did my pickup via bike! Did feel pretty funny sitting on my bike in the pickup aisle, but it was fun and only took 10-15 min more than driving.28

Hard work always pays off, and great to hear so many great progress stories.... that said We should never "hate ourselves"... we are who we are, our shapes are our shapes... let the inspiration come from the end goal, and use it as a trigger to change... negative feelings can be unhelpful as a means to motivate IMHO. Keep up the great work people :-)

I did it! I walked around the neighborhood for 2 1/2 hours! 8000 steps! My knees are going to really really ache tomorrow,33

Its wonderful to read so many positive victories! Its so important to remember the NSV's....they are signs of TRUE progress. I am exactly one size smaller in a button up shirt that is the same style and brand...different color. As for scale victory, I am only 6 pounds away from a medically safe normal weight. A BMI of 24.9 The last time I weighed a normal BMI was 15 years ago. I'm so proud of myself! Keeping my eye on the prize!22

I got a boost yesterday morning when I wore a tee I have not been able to wear for 4 years, it's one I like and it fit very comfortably.22
-
So I knew I wouldn't fit in my light fall/spring coat when this fall came around. I passed it on to my girlfriend and ordered another. And it came and was too small.
I'm going to keep it because then it gives me a goal, but the NSV is the fact that I felt a little glum but I didn't binge and I didn't have a tantrum and I stayed on my diet and actually kind of look forward to checking once a week and seeing how my progress is going towards being able to wear that coat.22 -
I was able to zip up my winter coat, without the maternity panel!!22

Last night I jumped over a horse fence. As in vaulted it like a gymnast on a pommel horse. My 13 year old daughter was watching. She said, "Whoa Dad, I didn't know you could do that!" I said, "I didn't either sweety!"35

Someone gave me a really nice compliment. That's one of the best things, when other people notice.23
-
One more thing: I notice that I am sleeping better. Last night was the first time in months I slept the whole night through without waking up once. I'm sure it's the consistent diet and workout routine to blame.21

I bought some chocolate peanut butter candies when I was on vacation. They ended up not being that great, but after lunch today I grabbed the bag and ate a bunch of them anyway. Afterward, I came to my senses and threw the rest of the bag out.20

So I’ve had this t shirt for several weeks, but wouldn’t put it on. It’s from a 50 mile trail challenge and I was so upset that it looked so small! I mean, it really upset me. The arms looked so tiny and when I held it up to myself, I wouldn’t even look at the mirror, just felt it against me.
I decided to bite the bullet and make the shirt my mini goal. Surprise of all surprises-it fits with room to spare! Those tiny arms are roomy on my arms and it falls nice and straight off my bust line without pulling on my love handles or hips. I wore it Sunday and today because it just makes me so stinking happy! Our minds are crazy things...35 -

Good for you, I did the same thing with some COOKIES!10 -
I got out of bed and went to exercise contrary to my mind which was telling me "It's the last few days of vacation, you'll start on Monday which is the first day of a new month". LOL. Yay!32

that is awesome. it's easy to let the mind tell you "no, we'll wait". Way to override that way of thinking!7 -
The towel fully wrapped around my body this morning!!!38

I have an aversion to medical environments, but after 3 days of extreme tiredness and headaches coupled with an irregular period and rapid/partly unintentional weight loss over the last month I bit the bullet on Tuesday and went to the doctor. That’s a NSV in itself as I find it very stressful to even walk in and I also knew that there would have to be blood and needles. Thankfully I got through my visit and four vials of blood without fainting, crying or throwing up.
The other NSV is that I seem to be quite healthy 😊 I had good blood pressure and good blood sugar and all the other tests he ordered came back today also within normal levels.
I don’t have any before labs to compare it with but it’s nice to know that even when I’m super stressed (literally, he commented on this in my journal) my blood pressure is 130/90.
