I did moderate carb when I was losing weight, 30/30/30 for the most part. It just takes practice.3 -

Don't believe everything you read on the net. SOME people find low carb effective for blunting appetite and allowing them to lower calories without too much suffering. Some don't. Low carb can be effective, but its not because of the magic "insulin" Fairy. What it does usually is, increases protein(protein is the most satiating nutrient per energy unit) , increases fiber(DT an increase in non starchy veggies), and eliminates many "problem" foods for some, (I.E. hyperpalatable\energy dense combinations of fat and carbs... picture cookies)
I suggest you find a lifestyle that helps you decrease calories and can be sustain with the least amount of effort and will power in the long term.
Tips from me:
Increase protein.... ie lean meats, dairy, legumes.(kinda generic, because I have no details on you)
Increase fiber.... ie fruits, veggies, legumes
Reduce reward value of diet ie less cookies, brownies, candy, soda, burgers, fries, ect... ok to have "sometimes" , but I would see how well you moderate them.
Increase NEAT... AKA Move your butt! Increased calorie burns= dieting on more calories. Also, "may" help decrease appetite in some.

Weight loss (and maintenance) is always going to mean staying within your calories. People can lose or gain weight eating high carb or eating low carb.People are telling me to and that’s all I’m hearing on the web. Having trouble losing weight this time. But no medical reasons
Having trouble this time suggests you are losing weight again (been there done that). So maybe focus on permanent changes. Can you eat more servings of veggies every day? Can you reduce your snacking permanently? Can you increase your activity forever? Perhaps find some small permanent changes and do that. The weight loss might be slow, but permanent is good. Low carb gives you a bunch over water weight loss at first, this seems impressive but it's temporary.

Weight loss is about CICO. Some people find low carb easier to be in a deficit. For some it’s IF. For some it’s high carb. The thing they ALL have in common is that you eat in a deficit. If it isn’t something you can see yourself doing for life though, you’ll just regain the weight when you stop whichever “diet” you choose. Find something sustainable for you.6

People in my FB feed only post about low carb when they are in the honeymoon period and stop raving about it when they find it unsustainable and gain all the weight back6 -

They must be doing something wrong, because I have been on keto for 2.5 years and haven't regained any weight.2 -

Perhaps they just picked the wrong diet for them?
Just like your diet would be wrong for me and my diet would be wrong for you.13 -

What they did wrong was choosing a way of eating they couldn't sustain long-term because it doesn't suit them. The fact that it worked for you doesn't change that.15 -

I agree with you, to a point. Keto is not just a diet; it's a lifestyle. If they thought it would be a quick hack to lose weight fast and then go back and eat all the pies, then they would be wrong. There are many ways of doing low-carb and some of these are plain wrong. Atkins is one of these. There are also other benefits of being in ketosis that go beyond losing weight, like, for example, improved mental clarity and overall energy levels.

I have massive doubts about mental clarity, from years on these boards the exact opposite seems to be true - unless tunnel vision has become a synonym for clarity.
Come for a long bike ride with me and/or a gym session and we'll talk about energy levels.....
What I will agree with is that there are right and wrong ways to do most diets (noun and verb). Just like there are right and wrong diets for individuals which is something you seem to struggle with. I'm very happy for people to choose to go low carb for the right reasons, you should be happy for people to choose high carb diets for the right reasons too.14 -

How is keto a "lifestyle" rather than just a way of eating?
I get how veganism is a lifestyle - not exploiting animals goes beyond what's on your plate. But how does keto go beyond what's on your plate?11
