actual 2020:
... Radiohead/The Smiths are not "male manipulator" music. FFS.
2020 can shove its coronavirus laden *kitten* in a rocket and launch itself into actual *kitten* space. I'm really tired of people trying to either politicize everything or tell people they can't enjoy something (like music) because they think it's representative of something else that it isn't.
P.S. Nothing against you, this just annoys me.
lol no worries
but the absurdity of the statement just got me thinking we need our own even more absurd "toxic signs" thread where we all increasingly find fault with someone else's preferences for anything no matter how insignifcant
though i guess we do have the red flags thread already tbf2 -

People already use that thread to do what you're talking about. In jest, I think. Can never tell with people 'round these parts.3 -

I know christmas lights are pretty magical... but I don't think they're THAT magical.
It does seem fitting though.3 -

Is everyone going to hate 2021 just as bad when they wake up Jan 2 and realize Jan 1 wasn't just a hangover and everything still the same as 2020?5

I'd prefer to drink and continue to not think about it.4 -

i just really hope this covid stuff is over next year before the whole "civil war" thing gets going otherwise its gonna be kinda annoying trying to hide up in the trees with the boys and wait for the redcoats for hours if i have the sniffles too9 -

I'll have 12 months to decide how I feel about 2021.
IDK I kinda feel like 2020 was condemned in April for most folks, by June everyone hated it. Considering our Rona score is going to start 2021 at or near the highest point of 2020 I think it may get called even earlier. Hey at least we won't still be hearing about elections though.3 -

You may have to dip into your stockpile of cough meds.1 -

well at least until the local health authority determines that trees were the actual cause of covid this whole time3 -

You know... I want to come in here and find the bright side of 2020, but I know that it was far worse for many than it has been for me... I'm just lucky
And I feel even guilty saying that much...
If I had been given anothers shoes, I might not be so positive...8 -

For me personally, it wasn't awful until around June. Everything went downhill then. I didn't mind the lockdown (even though it was inconvenient and my mental health took a slide further south than it normally did).- Stepmom diagnosed with aggressive form of cancer in June.
- 3 people I knew (family friends) all diagnosed with and died as a result of COVID.
- Wasn't allowed to leave to visit anyone or anything from May to October due to my husband's job (military, they locked the base down and refused to let AD do anything that wasn't grocery/appointment related), even if it was outside and alone.
- Both my cats died (in August and September). They both died of the same thing at 13 years.
- Car decided to be a jerk (again) and act up, so I had to take it in and have it replaced, which cost more money in rental car fees than it did to actually fix.
- In my state at least, no one adheres to the restrictions, which is why our cases keep going up. Way to go, MS. Keep proving to the rest of the world we're a bunch of ignorant idiots.
At this point, I mostly hide out under a rock, leave my house when necessary (groceries/appointments/walking) and try to keep occupied with craft related things.
The only upside: I had no choice but to really utilize my online-fu this year and I was done Christmas shopping at the end of Oct.
