I couldn’t sleep after sending my partner off to work last night. I tried for almost 2 hours before deciding to get up and do some housework (3am cleaning is a real thing right???) then went out and had a ride on my young horse. I work 10 hours today (my roster is 14 x 10 hour days then 7 off) and I know by the end of it I’m going to be exhausted but the NSV is that instead of laying there tossing and turning, even though I knew I needed sleep, I also knew there was no way I was getting back to sleep so I got up and done something productive. Here’s hoping for a solid sleep tonight!12

On Friday I went in to my company headquarters and picked up some new uniforms. Traded my 2XL shirts and 42 pants in for L shirts and 36 pants. Our operations manager hasn't seen me since the COVID breakout and he didn't recognize me!19

Just shy of losing 40 lbs in almost 3 months. Cutting inches off my belts and pinning them to my message board in my office .13

First time ever out and about in public in a crop and not feeling totally self conscious.

Mine too! Had to pass a newish pair of trainers to my son as they didn't fit 😁

I can barely see the ribs on my chest, below my collar bone, when I lift my arms above my head.
I am nowhere near underweight, just kind of threw me off a bit when I noticed it. I called my husband into the bathroom and asked, "Look, here. Are these my ribs?" and he goes, "Yep, looks like it."
Weird.
I don't recall being able to see them before I got pregnant and had my son, so clearly I've lost a lot of muscle definition for them to be showing through. Oh, well, it'll come back in time.10 -
I had the candy in the cart and ditched it at the checkout!21

Wearing pants I couldn't zip 6 weeks ago with a shirt tucked in27

Have passed up the candy bowl (huge) of left over Halloween candy at work. It holds no interested for me anymore. There was a time I would have demolished it! Clothes are getting much looser at 55 lbs. weight lost.26

Size 6 skinny jeans.
Curvy fit, sure. Vanity sizing, most definitely. Do I care? Nope!
My big booty body, which was unfashionable for most of my life, looks pretty darn fabulous at 51 - can't wait to wear these jeans to work!
And I think I'm definitely more hourglass than pear (finally!)
It was a good jeans day

Put on a pair of what used to be my skinny size 14 jeans - they fit like sweats and don't need to be even unbuttoned to pull on. Crazy.26

Wearing my curvy fit, vanity sized 12 jeans today and feeling the same way! 3 months ago these pants barely buttoned, today I'm constantly hiking them up.17 -
My size 8 (lululemon sizing) yoga pants are starting to get loose.
I've been wearing them since I was size 12 and the waistband would always flip down when I exercised.
It stays up now and there's a little room in the booty!15 -
I pigged out on sugar yesterday - doesn’t sound like much of a NSV? Well I realized just how much my sugar habit had previously been affecting my mood and physical well-being. Sugar makes me feel like crap! And somehow I never put two and two together. So that feels like a big realization and a new resolution to go easy on the sugary treats.20

For the first time in almost a year I did a bunch of squats yesterday and I have ZERO back pain today. It’s amazing how chronic pain can creep up on you and change what you perceive as ‘normal’.
The backstory:
After having trusted friends (who are personal trainers) see me in their class and look over my lifting form one of those friends referred me to a Posture Restoration Therapist. (PRT) This is physical therapy (PT), but obviously much more specific to posture.
It wasn’t until I was in that first appointment that I realized how much of my life I had been modifying to accommodate and lesson the SI joint pain I was experiencing.
I have been to see the PRT 3x. And within days after the first visit I was relatively pain free. So to be able to do squats with a correctly positioned pelvis & ribcage (body weight as this is still not second nature to hold correct posture) was flat out phenomenal. I am so impressed with these visits and this practitioner.
I am also unbelievably grateful. Especially for the friend who was able to say that from the outside my lifting positions looked spot on however “you should go see someone who can assess what’s going on internally”
Being pain free is rocking my world right now.26 -
I love all these stories, they keep me motivated!! someday I will be there, but I am already pulling on and off jeans without buttoning. That's a victory, right? almost ready to get into my "I'm almost there" stash of jeans.

Last spring if I wore a certain pair of shorts without a belt the button would unsnap periodically from the girth-pressure. Now I can slide those shorts off without unbuttoning. So at both ends of my weight loss, I require a belt.19 -
I had a fibromyalgia flare today. It feels like the body aches from the flu, in all your muscles. But.... the fibro has gotten less and less awful the more weight I've lost. I definitely didn't get anything -extra-done today...
BUT.
I did manage to make lunch, and make enough extra that when I just had no spoons left to make dinner, I could just have another hamburger. And I had made an extra breaded chicken cutlet last night when I made chicken piccata, so Girlfriend had that, and fortuitously there were still two enchiladas left in the fridge, and Boyfriend had that. I'm doing a lot better with energy most days, so I am able to make a bit extra for the times when I feel bad. And I ate my snack on time, and my dinner on time, and have gotten my fluids in today.
And, I had it all taped, so I went ahead and painted the downstairs hall. Of course, it's one of those things where once you've cut in round the three doors and the doorway to the library you have about five minutes' work with a roller to finish, but I got the blasted job done. And I think I will even be able to clean up the paint and fold away my little handy table before I go to bed.
This is not the way the day would have gone before I lost weight. Am I having to push a little to do it? Yeah. But a year ago at this point I would have been having to push a little to get off the couch to go pee, let alone cook my own food or do anything useful. So it's an NSV for me.17 -
My boyfriend gained weight and gave me his old pants, which I noticed today are actually a little loose in the legs and waist! I noticed the same trend with my other pants and went wait a minute - these were barely just fitting only a few months ago.
I don't weigh myself due to past eating disorder tendencies, but I know I have gained weight during the pandemic. It's nice to see my slow and moderate approach of small daily walks, moderate 30 minute workouts, and mindful, healthy eating has the side benefit of fitting a bit better into my clothes.
Here's to focusing on creating healthy, lifelong habits and not obsessing over numbers!21 -
The bones on my shoulders (like, the outermost part of my collarbone?) are now clearly visible even through a proper sweater.
I wore an apron for the first time in ages today, and it easily tied in front with plenty of string to spare.14 -
Fell off the wagon for a week or so and got my s&^% back together without drama in a reasonable amount of time.29

I found some trousers in my closet with the tags still on them. No idea when I bought them or why, but they are a size down from where I started. I can't say they look super cute, but I can button and zip them and can breathe while wearing them. So I'll count that as a win!17

I recently started tracking my food/calorie intake on MFP and have dropped 4lbs since Remembrance Day (Nov 11th for you folks outside of Canada). I guess seeing everything on 'paper' really does help keep you accountable to yourself. Another 2lbs to go to get back to that 198 low I hit in July.19

I caught my dog when he decided he liked freedom in the park more than staying on my good side 🙂 I ran after him and it felt fabulous: light on my feet, no pain, just incredible. Just for perspective: I have had intermittent foot pain from injury for a decade. 47 pounds lost and a million steps walked later, I'm a new person.24

Lately I've been reading this thread when I feel like snacking and it's gotten me through! I'm back logging after about 2 years off and almost 20 pounds gained since March this year. My weight has fluctuated up and down and I need to just get back on board again now. I started logging again last week and I'm down about 2 pounds of probably water weight.
NSV - no snacking on my kids' food the last week and a half and today I'm finally hitting my macro goals as well as my calorie goals!23 -
There was a LOT of wind outdoors, but I didn't give myself that excuse to avoid walking. The temperature was mild and I know these days are numbered, so I powered through!

The tan jeans button and zip just fine no problem. (I need to try on the light ones again, but I think those were mislabeled, they're so much smaller than the others.) I wore them today and I know I look good. (laugh) Both my partners keep having to touch my butt.9

Filling out a work tee in all the right areas and friends/co workers noticing the change in weight and body composition.14
