HHD middle agers! But the saying goes, you're only as old as the person you feel (so get yourself a young one!)
Bucketing raining here this morning, proper depressing. Can this year be over already?
@forestfreek you're amazing, are you feeling deprived as well, or are you ok?
@cgrout78 enjoy the peace and quiet, brilliant idea!2 -
It's a cold and frosty morning. I don't understand this weather....it's been cold all week but will be double digits tomorrow and Friday. What the heck?!?!
@LunaTheFatCat soon... we'll be done with this year soon....then onto better and brighter things.2 -
49F... with 50 coming in less than 7 months. I have lost about 20 of the 75lb loss goal by 50. Ultimately, I'd like to loss a total of 90lbs or so. Seems daunting... but one day at a time... one foot in front of the other.
Happy to "meet" you! Please feel free to friend me - I could use all of the support I can get!

Hi Friends...It's been a loooonnnnnggg time since I've read or posted on this thread. I've been coasting and not logging anything for almost 2 years, but recently back in action after gaining the Corona 15 and inactivity after a rotator cuff surgery. I'm 52, active in dance and yoga, and trying to get back in the habit of logging food and exercise. I started using this app in 2016, and it helped me lose over 40 lbs. It keeps me accountable, and focused, and I've connected with some really awesome people.5

Happy Hump Day boys and girls!! Guzzling my coffee and trying to not punch my computer screen already this morning. Something tells me it's going to be one of those days.
At least the weather is starting to warm up a bit so that makes me happy!! Supposed to be almost 50 today and for November in these parts, I'll take it. If the wind wasn't 30 miles an hour I'd walk outside at lunch today3 -
Very good. A strange thing is happening to me recently. I hear someone in in their early 40s and I refer to them as young. Never thought this day would come. My wife keeps reminding me that we're the old people now.3 -
I'm still sore. I guess old age makes the post workout soreness worse.
I've been chugging protein shakes all week.3 -

Me too. They say you're only as old as you feel... some days I feel 20.... the next day I feel 90.... when in reality I am 58.
I feel the same it's like a rollercoaster!2 -
Morning all!
Today's blessing but kind of a curse: My weight dropped enough where it recalculated my calories, and at 1300 a day I can no longer justify 160 calories a day in half and half for the pot of coffee I drink a day. Today is the day I become a black coffee drinker. It's...um... how do people enjoy this? Asking for a friend?1 -

you know, I ran out of creamer one day and drank it black, and now I honestly have a hard time adding cream to it, I think it makes it taste weak. And I can't even stomach the sugary mocha's I used to drink. So...it can be done, even though it takes some getting used to2 -

Omg those sugary drinks, I always ask for them half sweet. I forgot one time and could barely drink it. I only every use a bit of 5% cream in coffee or now I use my lactose free Homo milk.
Hope all the middle agers are having a good week!2 -
Just spotted this. 48 here, feel 90, act 15...it balances.5

Tell your "friend" they may get used to black coffee to the point they prefer it.
A friend of mine used to pollute their coffee. A little honey and some half-and-half. They cut out the honey first. Easy-peasy. They also switched to a coconut creamer for a while; lots less calories, but still pollution in the coffee. For the same reason "your friend" is thinking about this, my "friend" started drinking it black. It's now preferred. In fact, last week there was a carton of half-and-half that was used as an ingredient in sauteed chanterelles, and there was some left over. My "friend" put some in their coffee, and... next cup was black.
I have found it helps to get very high quality coffee that was roasted recently, but not too recently, then grind fresh. I really REALLY prefer pour-over coffee, one cup at a time. I do like to make coffee in a press from time to time, but using a paper filter removes the cafestol, a component in coffee that is linked to an increase in levels of LDL (bad cholesterol) in your blood. The other issue with a press is that, since some of the grounds remain in the cup, the coffee keeps brewing while you drink it. With pour-over, it just brews once.
Technique:- Set up filter. Fold the two crimped edges and put it in the cone. I use unbleached filters.
- Pour some water through the filter to remove any paper particles.
- Add ground coffee. Maybe a little less than you're used to, and you can fine tune to taste.
- Add a bit of boiling water to the grounds to let them bloom. While the grounds are expanding, give them a stir with a spoon.
- Then add more boiling water slowly keeping the grounds floating just a bit.
- When the cup is full, go enjoy the heck out of it because it's a really good cuppa joe.
- Repeat as necessary.
Enjoy!1 -
Hey everyone! 30, buuut I feel real old lol 😆2

Yes it is. Apparently it happens a lot with people who have lost a lot of weight over a shot period. I've lost 100lb in 8 months.1 -
