@skippygirlsmom Glad Skip made it home safely and is so chatty. I love that you have such a great relationship. Enjoy your time with her.
@Camarmandy648 Be safe and enjoy your race tomorrow! I know you will do great. Hope you have the course on some sort of device so you don't get lost.
Pretty pictures @Faebert. I love the stories about your comedy runs with the littles.

So quick update and check in.
Lovely photos @Faebert !
@Camaramandy648 you got this. And thanks for the update from Kristi.
@skippysmom enjoy the chatty. I get one word convos with my teenager 😂
@rheddmobile , really unbelievable. Glad you are ok.
Great running to the rest.
So after a week the swelling has gone, but still painful. I did try and run on Thursday which I probably should not have. Went to orthopedic today and now have a brace to support the arch and foot. So no running for at least another week maybe more. He didn’t see any breaks, but likely the ligament is stretched and inflamed.
I can cycle though, so really glad I invested in that! Of course I won’t meet my November goal...first time I think!8 -
@Camaramandy648 good luck on your race. I hope it's an awesome experience and you can enjoy the time on your own on your adventure.
@hamsterwheel6 sorry about the foot not being better. Glad you can still cycle. Hope the brace will help it be more comfortable and heal.
Aw, @skippygirlsmom that's so great to have your daughter home and excited to tell you everything. It's such a long break this time - at least we're longer than normal so I hope all the students and families enjoy their time and we are in a better place when they head back to school in January.
@faebert that sounds so cute, your runs with the little ones. Beautiful sunrise photos!

It was a lovely day here. I slept in after working late the night before and then snuck out early to get my run done this afternoon. It was about 65 degrees so felt pretty perfect. I did the trail that starts by the Wegmans grocery store so I could pick up some things after. I parked closer to the store than the trail and started running from my car. One of the employees was leaving work and startled when I ran past him - he said "oh, I thought you were chasing me" and laughed. I apologized because yes, I could see why he thought some crazy might be running after him in a parking lot. LOL. The first mile of the run felt really rough, but it got a little better as I went and my pace progressively increased. I ended up with a 5k distance - quite a bit slower than my 5k race from last weekend of course!
I'm so happy to be going into the weekend and a short week. I'm hoping it will be a a weekend to catch up on things around the house and at work, but all those grand plans tend to go nowhere so I'm going to try to set the bar low. In any case, the thanksgiving break will be very nice - whether there is anything holiday-ish about it this year or not, at least it's a few days off5 -
@skippygirlsmom - so excited for you to have Skip home! Enjoy every moment!!
@Camaramandy648 - good luck with your 10K. Have fun! Also thanks for the @PastorVincent family update.
@Faebert - that sunrise is gorgeous! I would love to see those littles out there running! Sounds so cute!
Littering - it makes me so angry too and also like @skippygirlsmom I hate that people are irresponsible with their dogs. Where I run the water basins and channeled river are settling ponds to fill the underground aquifer which eventually becomes our drinking water. People let their dogs go everywhere along the paved trail and on the dirt service areas along the river where I run. The city provides bags and bins to put the waste in so there is really no excuse. I have had people try to tell me it is 'natural' and the coyotes and other animals go there too. Yes but no... dog pop doesn't break down because of all the preservatives in the foods we feed them. Wild animals poop does.
I do know that banana peels in compost break down pretty quickly but I think it is because of the gases and heat that is generated by the composting itself. We have a lot of citrus, figs and pomegranate trees in our area that drop fruit all over. It eventually gets eaten by the squirrels, raccoons and possums and maybe rats too if people don't clean them up in their yards. We also have people who bring their scraps or bags of vegetables to the trail to feed the rabbits. It makes our park rangers crazy because they already have so much to eat natively and more food = more rabbits and squirrels and then you end up with more coyotes...
I have been running. My hip is sore and my legs are tired. I think I need to cut back some and rest. Doing so will mean I won't make my goal for the month or my rather arbitrary goal for the year. I already missed my goal of 2020km for the year so I guess it isn't a big deal to not hit the arbitrary lower goal I set for myself. I am going to walk this weekend and will include those miles and see how I feel on Monday. We don't have agility class so that should help my hip too. It just feels like it has been something or other getting in my way all year.

I am in Dallas. And i just paid $14 for a shot of tequila.
Didn’t stop the whole way here. Mask on right away. And so far zero interaction with anyone.
It’s starting to kind of hit that I just drove to Dallas after being up and working all day just to run a race they said is cancelled / virtual.
Maybe I HAVE lost my mind.10 -

You are an ultrarunner and only now you think you lost it 😊
You weren't being chased by a scrawny coyote carrying an Acme box of banana peels at the time were you @rheddmobile ? Glad you are okay though.6 -
I have missed a few runs lately, but I did do the prescribed stride repeats last night. The weather was a bit warmer yesterday, and the sun felt really good overall. It has been a rough week, so I am very glad for the weekend. I am behind on my monthly goal, but I am hoping to catch up over Thanksgiving.

@shanaber Continue to listen to your body. That's much more important than meeting some arbitrary goal.
@marisap2010 Sorry about the rough week. Glad you were able to get your run in last night.
Have fun "racing" today @Camaramandy648 !3 -

10-ish km this afternoon, nothing interesting to report. But I keep trying to let @AlphaHowls into the MFP Strava group, and every time I try to click on the notification, my whole phone freezes. Other notifications in Strava were fine. Maybe it's her awesome high mileage. Hopefully one of the other admins can accept her request.5

Happy birthday @AlphaHowls. I'm sure you had to get a new Fitbit because you wore out your old one 😉.
@Camaramandy648 welcome to Texas. Today's weather is pretty gross, right? Hope your run was better than mine.
It was 64°F with about 90% humidity. I wasn't really anticipating how uncomfortable it was when I started out this morning. The first 6 miles were ok, but then I started getting really tired, so I walked while I took a gel and drink. Then I had to stop and walk after every mile after that. I was sweating soooo much. Ended up with 13.1 miles, but it felt like 20.

@Scott6255 That humidity can really zap you. Good for you for getting it done.

Happy Birthday @AlphaHowls!
5th for 50 sounds perfect! Hopefully they are getting better with each iteration so they last longer, maybe...2 -
Happy 50th birthday @AlphaHowls! I'm not surprised you go through a fitbit a year with those miles. Hope you have a great one!

Most of my Saturday morning squad were not around today for various reasons, so just two of us headed out for the long run today. It was 40ish degrees but felt chillier than expected around the lake. I was glad I put on the warmer leggings. The time went fast as we had a lot to catch up on and issues to work through. I always call it my it my talk therapy session when I run with this friend, she's a very good listener - although her advice is probably more questionable and filled with swearing than a paid therapist might offer.
After I got home, I immediately changed to dry and warmer clothes and took the dog out for her walk so I could get it all over with and then take a nap! Which is what I'm going to do now.

Long run this morning. I'm at the point in training where I have the cardiovascular fitness but my legs aren't there yet. It's weird simultaneously feeling like I can go forever and can't keep moving. But, overall the long runs are easier this year than they were last year, so that's reassuring.6 -
