So I took my car in to have an oil change and winter tires put on...fine - the price is the price
they called me to say the break light is out "it costs $58 to replace"
...looking at the invoice, the bulb was $8 and the service $50
F that entirely!! I can change a lightbulb...(thanks to YouTube)
I thought the whole thing needed to be replaced - guess I'm dumb 😒8 -

Just do me a favor and don't be afraid to ask for help if (and when) you get overwhelmed. Taking care of yourself is equally important in this equation.
There needs to be more people like you in this world. My heart breaks every time I have to work in these LTC facilities and see the loneliness in my patients eyes. 💔
There was a picture recently in the news, of a doctor hugging an elderly Covid patient. Tore my heart right out. There are many many people in facilities(that word sounds so cold to me
) now that can't have visitors, and even before Covid struck, many people did not have anyone that came. Such a sad thing. During 2 brief stints of witnessing life in nursing homes locally, it always made me wonder where families were. It takes special people to work there to help make up for that.
My sister refused to place her dh anywhere else but home and both her kids gave her much grief about it. Thankfully she didn't listen and followed her own heart.
You have to do what your heart tells you. But always remember you're important as well and need to take care of yourself; never ever forget that extremely important part of it all.5 -
So my soon-to-be 88 yo neighbor came over yesterday. He and I have had our differences and still do. Anyways, he told me someone egged his house and dumped flowerboxes on his back deck. I felt bad for him and he couldn't figure out why someone would pick on him. I told him not to take it personally; probably some young punks who were bored and his dark backyard was a safe target. Next time I see him I'll have to remind him of some of the stories he's told me about things he's done that were much much worse.
I don't know why people have to do stupid thoughtless things at all; things that show they don't care about others or animals or the earth.
I've gotten into trouble in the early years of my own life but never in a 'slam the world' kind of a way.5 -

You took the time to research and found that they were over pricing you and you took care of it yourself .
