    Larry Flynt died

I am somehow not bothered by this turn of events. Dude was the ickiest of the icky, imo.

    Not Bothered?

Heck.... I'll go ahead and put it out there: The world is a better place with him gone.

    Sorry, Lar'.

I didn't want to be that person, lol.

Not into wishing death on people or being happy they're gone. But I do not disagree with your assessment.

Yep, though we're dealing with levels of skeezy obviously, neither was a stellar representation of humans.

    So much to weed-out here.

    One example of Flynt:

Flynt mailed out the infamous "War Pamphlet" (look it up).
It landed in my parent's mailbox when I was a kid, and I was the one grabbing the mail that afternoon.
Hefner wouldn't have done that. (one lil' difference)

So as 5ofseven stated it’s a level of skeez .. Larry crossed a line to intentionally push the envelope or ruffle feathers where Hugh didnt?

I do, yes. Can't speak for other folk, though. The only difference between them is in the media; Hugh tried to make his nudie mag "high class" and "artsy" (which I find laughable) whereas Larry was very crass and "in your face" about what his was about.

Flynt decided to launch his magazine in one of the most conservative cities in America.
The DA took great offense and it became war between the two of them.

Flynt sent out the War Pamphlet as a direct shot at Simon Leis (the DA).
So yeah, it was definitely intentional and an attempt to justify the content of his magazine.

Thanks for the replies here - I figured this was the feeling of most -

Porn is porn but seems Larry was really a troll before the age of the Internet - maybe-

I love being cold and then warming up. It's currently 13 degrees outside and I have a window cracked. For awhile, I took off my hoodie and just wore a T-shirt. Plus I'm listening to one of those 10-hour YouTube videos with a "blizzard snowstorm in the snowy mountains."

While it sucks to have to go downstairs to take a whiz at night, I love it when I come back upstairs and my body finally realizes it's cold and I start to shiver and then I get under my heavy comforter and enjoy the involuntary convulsions I get for 30 seconds or so until I warm up again.

I've always loved bad weather, but I've been homeless in the past (in February in Chicago, yet) so I think maybe my love of the cold and warming up might be intensified remembering the nights when I'd have to sleep in the park with nothing but my clothes and a parka to keep me warm, or when I'd break into buildings under construction and try to find the spot farthest away from the window spaces that didn't have glass in them yet. Sometimes I have this nutty dream where I'm lying on a couch in an alley getting buried in falling snow and somehow I enjoy it.

    No.

Eta: flynt was made out to be a kind of first amendment hero. Or he made himself out that way. I’m not fond of any man profiting from women’s bodies but this posturing was especially offensive to me. Im afraid I may have opened s philosophical can of worms here. I apologize and I will say no more.

Na no need to do that. Its what you feel ,if people can't respect that then the hell with them. They may not agree but they should still respect your thoughts and feelings :)

I dont know much about Larry Flint, and i think thats because i chose not to. I dont despise people that i dont know and that i can turn them off or tune them out. Of course, i tune out the moral avengers that rail against porn too. My opinion, its a subject that makes Karens out of the extremists of both sides. The only way the objectification of humans in porn will stop is if there is no audience for it......and that will happen at about the same time McDonald's poison food stops having billions sold. So in the meantime, delete your porn hub account, and go past the drive thru and get a salad and you are doing your part. 😉

Personally, I preferred Larry to Hugh. Gimme Hustler’s raunch and real girls over Playboy’s unrealistic plastic Barbi sheen. Larry never pretended to be anything that he wasn’t: a low-brow smut peddler. Hugh was *kitten* from the get go.

I temped at Hustler for a few weeks in 2001. I never ran into Flynt in his gold-plated wheelchair, though the offices there were like you'd expect: tacky. Lots of Greek columns, reproductions of old paintings, black marble... I did find it amusing that the waiting rooms are all stocked with Hustler publications. So if you go in for a meeting with someone, instead of People or Time, your only options are leatherbound versions of the latest issue of Barely Legal or Asian Fever.

I spent some of my time cleaning out someone's office. I glanced at some notes and memos. They were a pitch for a new porno series focusing on drug-addicted porno actresses. I'll never forget one memo said that they'd be able to "get a lot of good material by having the women detail the degrading things they did to feed their habits." Jesus.

I also organized a lot of video cabinets. I remember Snoop Dogg hosted a porno series so there were all these video boxes with him on a throne with women draped all over him. There was also a series called "Mr. Beaver," apparently featuring "comedy porn". Mr. Beaver was a hapless traveling salesman who, despite his idiocy, managed to get girls in locales like London, Paris, Las Vegas. The copy line was "You'll bust a gut and then bust a nut."

Personally... I think Miyamoto Musashi takes Bruce Lee and Mayweather...

I mean he was a little known orphan who walked into the top Samurai school in all of feudal Japan to challenge their best and literally killed the top 3 guys 😬...

    I'm sorry but that's inspiring AF 😂...
