I was a bit “off” yesterday from my second COVID shot — I slept all afternoon, went to bed earlier than usual and slept until 8:40! Whew! I do feel better, though not 100%. May need some more sleep, which should get me in shape for Springing forward tonight! Happy Saturday, all!

29th anniversary. It’s been a great 3 decades, full of dogs, cats, gardens, adventures, love.... Ordering out for anniversary dinner, so I expect a bump up tomorrow, but that’s ok.
3/15 - 183
I had a major pig out for our anniversary carry out — we ordered from our fav Italian restaurant, and I had a fabulous chicken breast cooked in lemon mushroom sauce. Actually not too bad on the calories front, since we ate around 2 and considered it lunch & dinner. I went for a lovely walk later. Today we’ve dropped back into the 20s and there’s a possibility of sleet. Oh, well, this will be short term.

This is my 8th round of 2021, and my New Year resolution was to get at least 30 under my belt...I am a 52 year old woman with progressive MS and poor mobility, so it makes it difficult to lose weight. BUT I am getting weight off slowly but steadily.

@beagletracks Love your photos. We haven’t been that far north. Always had dreams of doing it but life has gotten in the way.
@prehistoricmoongoddess I’m so sorry for you loss. About 10 years ago we had a similar experience when our adult nephew passed. Sometimes Facebook isn’t so grand.5 -

3/14-170-I am so glad to be back; I’ve been so busy. Last weekend, my girlfriend came here with 10 quilt tops and we quilted them and put binding on them. They are “comfort quilts” that our quilt guild gives to a person who has lost a loved one or has a sickness. We ate and drank our selves silly while working on the quilts. Then, our near by quilt shops had a “shop hop” that I worked at for three days. We usually get takeout food, but I brought my healthy lunch every day and felt so good.
3/15-170-Whew! Friends had us over for corned beef, chips dips and all, I drank lots of water and came out OK.4 -

03/12 …..207.0….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
03/13 …..207.2 ….. Daughter and 3 yr old grandson moved in last night after family feuding. For a short time or for much longer? I don’t know yet but this will definitely put my meals even more out of whack! I’ll have to figure this out! The plus side, more time with them and lots of extra steps. Good luck everyone this round!
03/14 …..207.2 ….. No change. Hectic here right now…
03/15 …..207.2 ….. Not doing well on the diet with the houseful of people daily. Between family moving in and the renovation crew, my life is upside down! Doing my best here but I just don’t have the space, the energy or the privacy I need to cook multiple dinners, lunches, etc. I already cook 2 different ones per meal due to my son’s autism and eating disorders. I’m not going to throw my hands up. I will find the answers.

03/22 …..xxxxx …..03/01 – 11,051 Steps yesterday. The most steps in a very long time. Certainly the most since my retirement!
03/02 - 6,181 Steps yesterday. It was a busy day with the remodel. Full house.
03/03 - 4,937 Steps yesterday. Unexpected travel with lots of car rides. I keep my fitbit on my non-dominate wrist, not my ankle, so I know I actually got in over 10,000 with ALL the shopping. However, I had no time for any extra planned exercise yesterday so I am grateful for the steps in the big box stores.
03/04 - 6,589 It was a paperwork day. Not as much movement or as many steps as I would have liked.
03/05 - 4,276. Another paperwork day as I prepped for my attorney appointment today for my will & trust (and other matters). Travel today will bring light steps for tomorrow also.
03/06 - 7,489 Traveled but still got in some steps.
03/07 – 6,827 Steps. I should have tried harder. I probably could have gotten more in. I have been doing some planned stairs in the house though.
03/08 - 7,092 Steps. I had a sit-down meeting last night so getting more steps in was impossible. I am shocked, actually, that I got in this many!
03/09 - 8,217 Steps.
03/10 - 7,123 Steps. I had a movie night last night.
03/11 - 8,635 Steps and I worked for every one of them intentionally!
03/12 - 8,672 Steps.
03/13 -10,237 Steps chasing active grandson.
03/14 - 8,726
03/15 - 7,164 Steps. Still getting them from inside home.6 -

Goals for this round:
- Weigh every other day
- Add 100 calories to daily calorie goal
3/13 - DNW - It was hard NOT to step on the scale this morning! I’ve gotten so addicted to seeing that number, even if it went up rather than down. I made myself drink some coffee so the number wouldn’t be comparable anyway.
3/14 - 126.2 - So much for easing into maintenance. We’d planned to do a Pi Day/St Patrick’s Day party today with the other family we’ve podded with during the pandemic, but upon hearing that it’s supposed to be cold and rainy today we made the quick change yesterday morning to move it up to last night. Plenty of tortilla chips, one extra slice of pizza and a piece of Bailey’s Irish Cream Chocolate pie later, and this is the result on the scale this morning. (I regret nothing - that pie was incredible 😂) I expect that to drop back to around 125 in the next few days. I did go out for a 5K run this morning - 10:30 minute/mile pace and I didn’t have to stop and walk at all!
In the meantime - today is meal prep day! Definitely not dropping that. I’m going to make carrot cake overnight oats & egg muffins with corn, bell pepper and cheddar for breakfasts and chicken larb plus rice for lunches this week. I’m also making a lemon asparagus soup to freeze.
3/15 - DNW - Getting my head in the right place over not weighing is so hard. I “know” the weight isn’t going to suddenly reappear if I don’t weigh in each day, but I still struggle with feeling like if I stop any one of the steps I’ve been doing all my progress will vanish. I did a 30 minute strength workout this morning and I think I have a new strength goal - push-ups! I’ll see how many full form push-ups I can do and try and build from there. I know I can do one, but not more than 5. I’ll build from there!

03/14 DNW - woke up to the news that my uncle had passed away. He was in his 90s but had a fall a week ago and had been in hospital since then. I didn't know this until today. My cousin messaged me this afternoon, but she'd already put it on Facebook, which is how I found out.

Day/Weight/Comment
03/13- 217.8lb! Lots of snacking, albeit on ‘healthy’ food and wine have contribute to this. I know it’s not a real gain and will come down in the next few days with an increase in me drinking water. I’ve been for a lovely 10km walk today and will do another one tomorrow. I’m not hungry today, so I’m listening to my body (for a change) and will keep the calories low.
03/14- 218lb. Was well under with my calories yesterday, only ate 1400 plus did a 2 hour walk. Plenty of water today and a nice walk should start to see the scales go back down. Although I love weighing each day and completely understand why weight fluctuates so much, it does take a while to truly make peace with the fact that just because you were well under the day before doesn’t necessarily mean a drop on weight the next day. Looking back at previous weigh ins, most of my ‘drops’ appear to be mid-week, after my body has had chance to flush out excess water from the weekends workouts.
03/15- 216.6lb . Happy to be down, but would like a couple of days in this direction! Great NSV today, came home knackered from work, headache and generally not feeling great. Pushed myself to go on a walk with my little boy- even if it was just a 5km walk.

March focus: improving stamina, strength, flexibility, which may impact the scale
Aims:
2021 Focus:JGM10D ~|~ Round 144- Maintain weight < 150
- Strengthen strategies to reframe the tendency to use unhealthy snack food as a reward/treat.
- Make sure I have prepared healthy snacks available
- Cut down on eating between meals by keeping busy
Never give up! Never give in!
Recent Back Story:- 2018 goal: get back down to 160 ✅
- 2019 goal: proceed down to 150 ✅ with 2 months to spare
- 2020 goal: maintain below 150 dropping slowly down to 145 ✅ Strength training has slowed progress, but that’s okay.
- That's a WIN in my book!
- 2021
- Focus: maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.
- (One good thing about Covid is that I don't have to traverse the minefield of family celebration meals.)

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

03/13 128.8 – WOWEEEE!! Couldn't quite believe this, got on & off 4 times, even picked the scales up & put them down again before the last weigh in!! but every time was exactly the same. If the scales are my best buddy this am, the weather definately was not yesterday, heavy rain meant I was forced to use the car rather than walk to volunteer session at vaccine centre & of course as soon as I got there it stopped and the sun came out . Managed to get 9.53 miles in afterwards. Excellent healthy food day.
03/14 129.6 – 10.35 miles walked yesterday, pizza night within calories, but carbs heavy. Happy Mothers Day to all you Mom's out there.
03/15 129.6 – 9.47 miles walked yesterday, stayed within calories & all macros. Had lovely video calls with DD, DS & DGC and lovely delivered flowers.

03/16- 215.6lb. Happy to see it go down again. Got a long day at work, so I’ve come prepared, packed a healthy lunch plus a healthy snack for early evening. Hopefully this will leave me feeling satiated until I get home and not cause a hungry binge!!! Feeling a lot better in myself, despite realising just how far I’ve got to go to get near my goal weight. Need to stop thinking about a date for when I want to have hit it, just focus on the process of being healthy and getting fitter. Cannot wait for the gyms to reopen in the UK!!!

03/15 - 198.0 Pretty happy with this as a starting point (sort of) for this round. Usually Mondays see my weight jumping because I allow myself some more calories, more diet fizzy drinks and more sodium-heavy food. Today it has jumped, but by less than half a pound.
03/16 - 198.2 This is OK. Was well under calories yesterday. A couple of small walks so not very active. But it's pretty common for me to continue going up slightly on a Tuesday. And then hopefully start to drop back a bit from Wednesday to Saturday...

Good Morning!
Sooooo I have totally been off track the past days/ week. In the beginning I was so mad at myself for falling of track, but then I decided to give myself the break while I was home with my family. Looots of delicious home cooked meals! Today I am back at my place, with lots of motivation and the plan to join the 10-day challenge again.

03/15 - 56,40 To be honest, it is quite hard to see this weight again. I felt so accomplished after round 143, when I was so close to my ultimate goal weight. But I am currently telling myself again and again, that it is okay to start over, that this is about a lifestyle and not a quick change and that I have already proven that I am capable of losing the next kg.
03/16 - 55,70 woah, okay I did not expect such a quick drop. However I do suspect this is also partly because of my lack of drinking water yesterday. Let's see how it is tomorrow. Eating wise I did go over my calories. But I did have a really active day with iceskating, walking around town and riding my bike to an appointment. I did have quite a hard time personally in the evening. Normally this would have meant: big binge. I did eat way more, but I did opt for some low-cal ice cream, which helped. Today I already went on a run, which was great!

Previous Day's Comments03/13 - Not enough water and a late night snack (kids man...they want a snack then don't eat it. They'd only eat it if I ate one.) 62oz, 16hr fast. BF left early this AM to pick up kids for spring break so I'm going to run errands and get some things done I needed today.
03/14 - Expected. Texas is open again and my town is back to being vacation/bachelorette party central. BF and kids arrived at 7. They wanted Mexican. Unfortunately, the wait was FOREVER and we didn't get food until 9pm. Was short on water, as well, from running errands and the daughter drank my water haha Oh well. Fasted 12hrs, stopped while running errands to support my friend's small business and she had a new drink for me to try. I can't NOT get it. That's why fasting is flexible, right? Once everybody is up and moving, we are going to Fam's land to do more tree cleanup from the winter storm and then have fun with kiddos. Hopefully I'll burn some extra calories and be able to get my water in to flush some of this out. I won't be surprised if it takes a few days.
03/15 - Still dealing with sodium-related water retention. Again, I'm expected it to take a few days to drop off. Back to the grind with work, which will hopefully keep me in line fasting and water wise.

03/14 DNW - woke up to the news that my uncle had passed away. He was in his 90s but had a fall a week ago and had been in hospital since then. I didn't know this until today. My cousin messaged me this afternoon, but she'd already put it on Facebook, which is how I found out.

This is my 8th round of 2021, and my New Year resolution was to get at least 30 under my belt...I am a 52 year old woman with progressive MS and poor mobility, so it makes it difficult to lose weight. BUT I am getting weight off slowly but steadily.
Start weight (31 August 2020): 349.2 lbs
Start weight for 143 challenge: 312 .0bs
Aim for 22 March 2021 (end of 144 challenge): 309.9 lbs

03/14: 311.3 lbs - that's not too bad, getting there

03/16: 312.7 lbs - good god, what's going on!?! Never mind, am pleased that today I have logged onto MFP for 199 days in a row, that's good in itself, isn't it?

Day/Weight/Comment
03/13 173 I will spend this round in Florida on different scales but with more opportunity for outside activities.
03/14 173.2 Travel day yesterday so food choices were limited until dinner. Did fine then. Hoping to get control of what someone else on the forum called the “scale creep” this trip. Going to bike to breakfast this morning and get in lots of activity today.
03/15 172.8 Much better food day yesterday and solid exercise day. Rode my bike 10.52 miles and got in a good walk at sunset too.
03/16 173.6 Vacation food. High salt in my lunch yesterday with some seafood nachos, so hopefully some of this is water. Lots of exercise though! My body is tired and sore today, which is a good thing! Won’t get as many steps today because we will be on the boat this afternoon/evening.

Personal exercise goals for March:
Average 10,000 steps a day
Walk or ride 150 milesWhen I count miles walked, it is just those that are tracked by GPS. I don’t use my watch “total miles for the day” number—just, when I go out for a walk, I log that. That’s why I’m working on my overall step count this month. I’m interested to see what effect getting in more steps throughout the day has on my TDEE number I can track in my watch/phone. Think I’ll add that to these numbers just so I have an easy record. I think that might be important long term, and I’ve never paid much attention to it. So, I think I might gain some insight this month by tracking all of this. Fingers crossed!Average Steps: 11,814

Goal for this round is to have a lower average than last round. Still need to get some form of exercise kick started.

Round 144
Month/Day: Exercise / Comment
3/13: 211.6
I had ¾ of a Jack’s frozen pizza last night. Having some friends over tonight, so tomorrow could be higher. Sous vide steak, finished on the grill. They are bringing the dessert. I better try to limit the damage today until then.
3/14: 212.8
3/15: 213.4
As you can see, I had a bit of a discipline problem over the weekend. And, I am still carrying around ALL of that lack of discipline. Had some friends over Saturday night that we had not seen since December. Plenty to eat and drink. Yesterday we had leftovers.
3/16: 212.8
The second half of this challenge needs a miracle.
