🌻 Hello, ladies! We've made it to April!🌻
🌻The weather is changing and we're changing with it! What are your goals for this month and/or the spring overall?
🌻A lot has gone on since last spring. How have your priorities changed, or not changed, since this time last year?
🟡If you've never been here before, please know you are welcome to join at any point in the month. All you have to do is post something, and then BAM!, you're one of us.
🟡In this group, we post our weekly and monthly goals and provide support and motivation to each other as we share our triumphs and our struggles. This group is all about accountability.
🟡All are welcome and, if you think you belong here, you do! No matter how much you currently weigh or how you measure (or don't measure) your weight, we'd love to hear from you.
🟡Victories, both scale and non-scale, are great to hear about, but, conversely, we know that weight loss isn't all sunshine and roses. If you're going through a rough patch, please feel free to be honest and vent your heart out. The struggle is real and we're all here to support each other!
🌻This April, let's amaze ourselves with everything we can accomplish!!!🌻

Hi there everyone! Thank you @RavenStCloud for keeping us going.
So, I've decided to intentionally lose another 5 pounds and get my average weight to 155. I'm setting my deficit at just a 1/2 pound per week, so progress is going to be slow, but that's okay.

Thanks again for setting up the new month, @RavenStCloud . I so appreciate you handling this and I love the wonderful group of women here!10 -

Month goals:- Minimize splurge-eating to just ONE day over Easter Weekend (I’m bad for one day leading to another and another and another and so on)
- Log all food even if unhappy with choices (no lying to myself!)
- 12,000 steps/day on weekends and 8,000 steps/day on weekdays (I’m part of a steps challenge at work this month so I want to do my part)
- 2 HIIT classes and at least 2 long walks per week (yay for nicer weather!)
I do want to give myself a little pat on the back for yesterday. My biggest challenge is emotional eating and I discovered I had made a huge mistake at work. I was tempted to hit the DQ drivethru right after work, eat a Blizzard in the grocery store parking lot, get my groceries including candy that I would eat on my way to the McD’s drivethru to get food I would eat on the way home and then eat the pizza we already had planned for supper. Something like that would for sure be my go-to “comfort” after a day like yesterday. BUT I DIDN’T! I just went grocery shopping, stuck to my list, and I had my two pieces of pizza with salad for supper as originally planned. Not to toot my own horn but TOOT TOOT.

I'm coming up to the end of my first 12 week deficit cycle (I'm on an aggressive deficit for now), and will enter a 2 week maintenance "diet break" phase on 5 April. BUT I'll still be logging, weighing weekly and exercising, not stuffing myself silly.
I've been doing Les Mills BodyPump 2-3 times a week, and BodyBalance 1-2 times a week. Now I'm adding BodyCombat twice a week too, but my first session yesterday showed me it's going to be a few months before I can keep up properly (and my entire torso is aching with doms today).
Aim for April - successfully maintain for 2 weeks mid-April, maybe lose 2-4lbs by the end of the month (next deficit cycle will start on 19 April, just after my birthday).7 -
@tiffdaski That's a huge NSV! Well done. Have you figured out what stopped you, or did you do something other than eat to handle your emotional tsunami?3

Goals for April- Log everything
- Get in my walking exercise at least 5/7 ( have walked over 1300 km since March 2020)
- Increase my flexibility
- Reduce the amount of fat I am eating in dressings and mayonnaise by half
- Drinking water
- be more mindful when I eat
I am grateful for.....
My family
My friends

Have really seen progress in my own expectations and have learned to fully appreciate the journey. My mindset is shifting and see the importance of normalizing this and getting rid of the dieting mentality. In it for the long game.

Thank you! I just made a conscious decision not to do each of those things at each step of my evening. It was hard but I told myself that I would regret it. If I can control emotional tsunamis (love that term! so accurate) like this even half the time going forward, I will consider it a win.10 -

Thank you @RavenStCloud for keeping this awesome group going!
My goal for this month is to stay the course - I made it past my usual March hump, so I just want to keep it rolling.
I'm looking forward to getting vaccinated. My husband has an antique Econoline van that he's been working with a body shop to restore over the past couple of years, and it's almost ready; once we've had our shots and the van is done, we're going to take a road trip up to see my (also vaccinated) dad and his wife, which will be really nice.
I'm also looking forward to the cute jammies I ordered from Zulily arriving - they're currently held up in customs in Chicago, so I have no idea when they're going to make their way to me in FL.
I'll put my template here so I can find it tomorrow:

To make you all smile!!!!
This morning, my scale decided to celebrate April Fool's Day!!!
I woke up and decided to weigh myself for the start of the month even though my regular weigh-in day is Saturday. My scale gave me a weight of 230.4lbs and I was so happy. I decided that I should wear my lighter PJs or leggings like I normally do when I weigh instead of the thick sweats I was currently wearing. I changed into the lighter clothes and the scale gave me a reading of 231.6lbs!!! 😲😲😲I was like WTH just happened. 🤔🤨🤔🤨
I then waited an hour and re-weighed myself wearing the same lighter clothes and the scale gave me a reading of 230.6lbs 2 times in a row and so that is the reading I finally accepted!!!😌😌
OMG!! I did not know scales celebrated April Fools Day!! 😅😅😂🤣15 -

- to log every day even if I am over
- to exercise at least 3 times per week
- to eat a fruit and/or vegetable at every meal
This week was pretty good in terms of logging, etc. and I even logged the entire bag of popcorn that I ate, rather than just write off the day. Was it a great day for my calorie-limiting efforts? No, but it WAS a great day for staying committed to the process.
This week's challenge will be to continue building on last week's success, and dealing with a very sick kitty (part of the internal motivation for the popcorn consumption).12 -
Happy April everyone, I normally weigh in on Mondays but decided to do another sneaky weigh in this morning after realising that the weight loss on Monday wasn't great because I was under estimating my calories burned and not eating enough. A couple of days of eating more and the scales are definitely showing a better loss so long may it continue. This month my target is to get to 200lbs trying to give myself targets each month rather that concentrating on my overall target, just feels more manageable to break it down and do it bit by bit.

Call me petty but I’m also looking forward to someone noticing that I’ve lost weight. One day at a time!12 -

The pounds have been creeping back on and it MUST stop. I disappeared from the forum in March with a lot of traveling and changes at work. Now I know I have to be diligent on them so I can keep myself accountable and know that I have people to report to. I know it is good to set goals, but it seems like goals discourage me, because I can't seem to achieve them. I need to do more of a daily goal, each day to be as mindful as possible and think before I give into temptations. Nothing is all limits, it just needs to be accounted for and stay within my calories. Making sure it is about balance, if I want pizza Saturday night then it is less calories for there rest of the day and probably the next. I cannot deprive myself of anything because if I do I just rebel against myself (I'm sure psychologists would have something to say about that, lol). It MUST be about the mindfulness of it and being honest with myself. The weight isn't climbing for no reason, it is climbing because I am consuming more calories than I am burning and the food I am putting in my body is the cause. Put less in my body and the weight will stop climbing. Feed my body what it wants (usually protein) and not sugar so I can stay satisfied longer and not be so inclined to eat.
There is no other option for me than to keep fighting, I do NOT want to gain any more and already am getting uncomfortable in some of my clothes and that is the sign that says STOP - Pay Attention!!! I don't have to make this too complicated and I don't have to spend a whole bunch of time on it, but I DO have to just pay attention and think before I act, plan before I eat.15 -

Made my March goal of 201 by the skin of my teeth - but I know my TOM had something to do with that. I was also pleased with last week’s loss of 1.8lbs - after the previous week’s loss of over 3lbs plus TOM, I was fully expecting to stay flat on the scale. It wasn’t quite as much as my previous weeks, but forward progress is still progress!
I’ve been in a particularly hectic season at work these days so I’m taking off the two days after Easter to reset and refuel. I don’t THINK any of my tiredness has been diet-related but if the reset doesn’t help, I’m going to try increasing my calories and see if that helps (I don’t feel hungry and I eat good food every day but I know sometimes feelings can be deceiving).
My goals this week are to consistently hit 3.5L of water/day, go on at least 3 long walks outside because the weather is GORGEOUS this week, and complete 3 HIIT workouts. I also need to do a better job of meal-planning and prepping: last week I didn’t plan ahead well because of work and even though I stuck to my macros and calorie goals, my food was not as exciting as it sometimes is. I’d like to work on that this week! Anddddd of course it would be incredible to see a ONE at the beginning of my number sometime this week.. but if that doesn’t happen, I won’t be heartbroken because I know it will come soon!
My NSV this week was that someone in a large Zoom call noticed that I had lost weight! I’m thinking if it’s noticeable on Zoom, it’s gotta be noticeable IRL, right?!
Have an amazing week, all!9 -

The dinner on Monday went okay. The gf ended up having to work but the guys decided to still have the dinner. Got salad and veggies first and then the entrée plate after. Scale wasn’t horrible the next day.
Yesterday dr appt and they hadn’t told me it was the new office. I should have asked when setting up the appt but didn’t know calling the 1 number rings at the new one. The office got me in just didn’t see the actual dr. Next time I’ll confirm which office is the appointment or really preface which office I want the appt at. Fasting test this morning as I’m curious on my numbers. Now the next round of appointments get to be scheduled.
Weight was up from last week but I was just glad to see the number this morning. Same as yesterday just on the lower end instead of higher.
Friend and I are going on a long hike tomorrow with a small group. Hoping my foot isn’t bothered by that. I wanted to try it to compare to how it is on the treadmill.

Heck yeah! I came in under-budget almost every day this week, so I knew I'd see a loss, and if I didn't, I knew it would be water retention since my sodium has been a bit high this week - dinner last night was ramen, LOL.
TPTB have decided to order lunch for us today - it's a floating holiday so about half the staff are off today, the rest will be off Monday (myself included in the latter group). They ordered Italian (salad, meatballs, chicken parm, pasta alla vodka, and a "dessert tray," whatever that means). I think I'm going to "forget" they ordered lunch and just eat what I brought (which is already weighed and accounted for) - if anyone asks, I just remembered we're having Italian for dinner tonight. (Not a complete lie, we are having frozen pizza, LMAO)12 -

Hello! I was a lurker to the last thread and figured I'd jump in this go around as it's incredibly refreshing to see numbers and hurdles similar to mine. We are planning a lengthier Disney vacation next year, so my larger goal is to get healthier for that venture. My goal for this month is to spend more time outside, whether that be along the lines of playing outside with my son or even taking a walk while listening to a podcast. The weather is finally considering starting to turn here so hopefully that will mean we can be spending our evenings playing outside.
I've been trying to get back into the habit of weighing and logging my foods. Meal planning is also a bigger hassle for me now. I used to only really have to worry about what I wanted to eat as my son is young enough to not care either way. He still eats whatever - but now I'm cooking for a very basic Meat & Potatoes type of guy (no salad/veg/etc 🙄). It's definitely thrown a wrench in the majority of my go-to meals.
Anywho ... glad to be here! Happy Easter!13 -

Hello everyone. I am new to this group but not new to MFP, this is my 3rd go on here. My last time here I lost 35lbs but stopped because I had my daughter. I struggled creating that balance with being a new mom, having a newborn, working, keeping up with house work and having family time. I put my own needs last and sadly I regained all my weight and then some....well... a lot more. Early in March I found myself with a health scare that landed me in the hospital. All my tests came back fine and I was told it was important to follow up with my doctor within 5 days. I did and was diagnosed as diabetic. That very same day (March 10th) my senior cat, who was my baby, passed away. I was devastated. (I am an animal lover) The following day I woke up and could barely function. Most of the day is a blur. The day after I woke, still sad, but motivated to take back my life. I began to log my foods on here. A few days later I started adding in physical activity. Today is my 22nd day rejoining MFP. It was the best decision I could have made.
Since rejoining I have had many NSV as well as a 13 lb weight loss. My fasting blood glucose level has gone from high 160s to a new low of 114. I have been exercising regularly. I have more energy. I find I am not craving all the foods that were terrible for me as I was prior to this. I am sleeping better and wake up feeling rested. I no longer feel that I need to start my day with two cups of coffee. I found taking carge of my life has also helped me cope in a healthier way with the loss of my furbaby. (I am a comfort eater)
April goals:
To add strength training in to my routine.
To continue to improve my blood glucose level.
To be out of the 250 range and into (or close to) the 240 range.
To get my gardens ready and plant my seeds. (I'm also a gardener)

🌸 Not letting disruptions to my routine paralyze me. Come up with some alternative plans should my day "get away" from me.
🌸 Meal planning!

🌸 10 pm bedtime
🌸 Minimize time spent on social media and mindless entertainment; replace them with more fulfilling pursuits (ie - writing, art, needlepoint, crochet, reading, language learning, really anything worthwhile)**
**I've noticed that there's a direct correlation between the time I spend scrolling through social media and/or bingeing on shows (often ones I'm either only moderately interested in or I've seen before) and my motivation, my mood, and my feelings about life in general. I become listless and a bit cranky or melancholy. I don't like it!

I want to pick up a handicraft for the same reasons as you @misplacedmama, but I just can't decide on one. And I, unfortunately, do not have infinite money to sample a dozen art hobbies. I do have a nice set of watercolors, but I'd really like to get a Baby's First Cross-Stitch kit or something, cross-stitch looks so meditative and fun and much easier to just pick up and put down as my attention span allows. Watercolor is nice and all but it requires a lot of setup and cleanup.2
-
@goal06082021 I hear you. Cross-stitch is a good one to work on here and there and generally doesn't require a lot of set-up and clean-up.2
