I'm stuck in a plateau! Currently trying carve down daily caloric intake without making myself too hungry. Do I have to give up my daily glass of wine? I feel like I already know the answer...
This has been my last week as well. I seem to have plateau'd and need to alter something to keep losing the 1-1.5 I'm used to losing. I only allow myself a glass of wine on Saturday evenings. There is no harm in having a glass of wine everyday if you are still staying in a calorie deficit, but wine is like empty calories for me. Wine doesn't make me feel full whereas food does. Or up your exercise to allow for that reward of a glass of wine everyday.

@Annawan24
@a2carlso
I don't drink any alcohol for 112 days and 9 hours now (I have an App which counts my sober days). Actually I didn't plan to stay "dry" so long. It was meant to be a "dry February" only. Now after 3 month I can say that I don't miss anything and I can see my husband drinking a glass of wine without being envious. Abstention definitely helped me with weight loss, I sleep much better, I saved 1605 Euro by now (according to the app) . I personally believe that it is a bit difficult to limit drinking only to one glass of wine a week. It is the same as trying to smoke less. Never worked for me... I don't know how it goes further with drinking / not drinking. At the moment I don't have any urge, meaning why should I drink... It is enough to smell wine when serving it to my darling5 -
Best wishes to all for a successful month .

I don't know what I'm doing wrong! I try to erase the copies that past, and it says I need the 'Vanilla Comments Edit permission to do that'
Sorry I seem to be 'hogging' the thread!

I'm stuck in a plateau! Do I have to give up my daily glass of wine? I feel like I already know the answer...
Personally, I think one needs to enjoy the journey or one will ultimately quit. I for one did not want to give up my beer. I had a hard look at my food intake and made choices. I gave up bread, popcorn, potato chips which were all part of my daily food plan, especially the chips with the beer. I actually started to feel better once I made it past the craving period. I maintain a 500 calorie daily deficit and walk very day, rain or shine. Walking earns me the credit for beer. I still enjoy my beer and most days am under by more than 500 calories. We are all different, ultimately it is your decision what to keep and what let go in order to enjoy your journey. All the best.

My name Sarah and I enjoy this group so I am in for another month!
I weigh on Thursdayโs
I began my weight loss journey January 2021 @ 206 lbs.
I ended April @ 167.8 lbs
My May weight goal is 160 lbs
My ultimate goal weight is 145 lbs!
Good luck everyone and we can do this!
4/29: 167.8 lbs
5/6: 166 lbs...definitely feel like Iโm retaining water so hope to see a slightly bigger drop for next week...but still happy for the amount lost this week ๐
5/13:161.2 lbs! Much bigger drop, almost too much ๐ณ Maybe scale is off but for now I will take it! Going to continue with several hikes a week, strength workouts at home a few times a week, and two intermittent fast days a week for now ๐
5/20: 158.6 lbs ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ This. Umber has made me fat more emotional than I was expecting! I joined MyFitnessPal back in 2014....I was 158 lbs wanting to lose 10....a lot has happened over the years and instead of losing I kept gradually getting heavier until reaching over 200 lbs in 2020....to see 158 on the scale was amazing since I havenโt been in the 150โs for 6 years....so now that I am back to where I started 7 years ago l am finally going to finish what I started โค๏ธ

CONGRATULATIONS3 -
Missed the weigh in for the last week as was out of town. I brought lemon bars and brownies for everyone. I only ate half a lemon bar.....that is a miracle for me! Good news is I have been going through my closet and it is like having new clothes! Yes, I keep different sizes. You know how manufacturers just can't decide to make a 16 a 16 across the board. So down at least one size...Works for me and it great incentive!
Off for another fishing trip weekend. Bringing the goodies since I am running the trip. I bring other stuff for me, dill pickles, homemade dill green cherry tomatoes and hard boiled eggs. Also have found that Starkist crackers and tuna salad kit is only 130 calories. Add an orange(can't eat bananas on a boat, bad luck!) and you have a decent meal.
Hope everyone has a great weekend! Don't give up!
