100 Reasons Why

For myself. In the past, it has always been to lose for other people in my life and to achieve “the ideal body”, but the past few years, I’ve changed that mentality and have chosen that this is for ME and I’ve made more progress than I ever have before.3

Day 72 of 100 Reasons Why:
In the spirit of Mother’s Day, today’s reason is for my kids. And for my future grandkids. And, hopefully even, for my future great grandkids! I need to be healthy in order to live a long, happy life ❤️8 -
Nature!
When I take walks outside I notice the spring flowers and bushes. Each week it's something new. This week is lilac. Lilac bushes in all shades of white, pink and purple. Beautiful.
I also heard a woodpecker this morning on my walk.5 -
I love being active and getting out in nature!! I like to walk in the woods where all is quiet except the chirping of birds and the wind in the trees. And I walk nature trails near my house that go around ponds and brooks and the sound of water is so soothing and I love looking for frogs, turtles, ducks and swans! I also walk along the the Cape Cod Canal where you’ll see lots of boats and sometimes trains and if you’re lucky you’ll catch sight of a deal or a group of dolphins passing by. I once saw a right whale!! So I think that’s a great reason!!5

Day 74 of 100 Reasons Why:
To shop for clothes anywhere I want.
Currently, I have a limited number of stores that I know sell clothes in my size and that will flatter my body shape. And the clothes there are not exactly affordable. Someday I’ll be able to walk into any store, a big name one or even a little boutique, and grab something right off the rack that will fit and feel great!5 -
I absolutely love this thread and read every single one!
My biggest reason is something I didn't even realize I wanted until I love weight the first time in early 2020 (and since have gained back...but that's okay--back at it!)
But I want to feel like the person I see in the mirror matches with the person I see in myself.
I hadn't even realized I had lost that. I gained the 40 pounds so slowly, over the course of a few years, and hadn't realized just how much I lost myself when I gained each pound.
But I remember SO distinctly one morning, after dropping about 25 pounds at that point and being so close to a healthy BMI again, that I looked in the mirror and just FELT like me. Like, "Oh! There I am! It's been awhile! I didn't even know I had lost you!"
Let me tell you, that sort of high and sense of freedom and finally feeling like yourself again is exhilarating. It kicked every other reason right out of the park. To see in the mirror the version of yourself you picture inside is the best feeling. It's like I was seeing my authentic self for the first time in YEARS, having been buried under extra weight and bloat and sadness.
So I have a lot of reasons to wanting to lose the weight again, but the top reason and the one that carried me each day is simply that: to feel like myself again. It was the best feeling in the world and I know I can get it back and keep it forever.11 -
@CloverDemeter That's an awesome reason!! So glad that you are on your way to becoming the best you on the outside to match the amazing you that is on the inside ❤️3

Day 84 of 100 Reasons Why:
To know that even when I have an off day (or week!) I can at least maintain enough good, healthy habits to not completely sabotage all my hard work!
I kind of fell off the weight loss wagon for a bit...Life, stress, a bit of depression and just a total lack of motivation all got to me temporarily. But this morning when I stepped on the scale I was relieved to see I hadn’t gained any weight! I’m not proud of my eating habits these last few days but I am proud that I had enough self control not to gain back all the weight I worked so hard to lose over the past few months!11 -
I missed youWaterlily. Well done for coming back. And that’s a great reason2

Because I hate doctor visits, and I don't want to be monitored for heart attack risk, cholesterol, or any of those things.3

@WaterLily82. I'm so glad you're back. We all have bumps in the road, but true success is when we make that U-turn and get back on track. It's easy to throw in the towel. But you were strong enough to stay the course.5

So I can run...and catch the bus or train3
