@lmlmrn & @chocolate_owl
Fried soft shell crab stuffed with crab on a bed of fried green tomatoes & fried eggplant.
The fish was a blacken drum with crawfish tomato mushroom lemon butter sauce.
Love the shoe selection @chocolate_owl!5 -
6/1 - AF, 9 miles
6/2 - AF, 3.9 miles
6/3 - AF, 3.5 miles
6/4 - 4 drinks, 3.85 miles
6/5 - 1 drink, 3.5 miles
Stuck to one beer with dinner, then had water and tea at home. I’m craving some white wine super bad right now, but I’m also craving ice cream and a sugared-up Starbucks drink, so really I’m just thirsty and want flavor. Water first, I suppose.
Drove halfway across town and got the shoes I need for the wedding. I think I’ll actually wear these a lot! @lmlmrn I’m an 8.5, but you can’t have the blue ones 😉

Bad day. Warning -it's a grumpy one.....
We have bad air today due to 3 fires in the area which made the national news. This is on top of the typical ozone and particulate matter. The fire in Phoenix (recycling plants and tires yesterday) blew my way thanks to the wind. And also blowing towards me from the east are the 2 forest fires 25k and 34k acres...with towns evacuating. This started yesterday and we talked about prepping a go-kit in case we are ever affected (we live on the national forest border). I should be thankful my house is not on fire but I am getting the bad air from all directions. And I have asthma. So I couldn't get my runs in yesterday and today. I tried doing water exercises in the pool but started to get breathing problems so had to go back inside. And it's 103 degrees. My husband is outside planting plants that I don't want or like (lantana with the yellow flowers that attract too many bees) but I gave up. So moody as all hell, I went out and got a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and some cheese. Now I am having myself a little wine and cheese 2 hour-happy hour. I just started and hope to stop at 2.5 drinks so I feel fresh in the morning.
I know this is a terrible way to cope with stress, but my stress level hit that unmanageable zone today. Maybe I should've driven myself to an indoor mall and gotten some gelato and buy more shoes....BTW...those are perfect sandals @chocolate_owl...

@Lilylady3k, what enjoyment....how interesting. I thought one of the pix was either a frog or crustacean-type creature since it seemed to have arms and legs.4

Back in town. Stopped by my sister's to pick up our dog. She had Shrimp & Andouille Creole over rice and white wine waiting for us.
2 glasses of white wine. Win was I skipped their 2nd pour and had a glass of water then when they poured their 3rd or 4th I had my 2nd glass. It is the little things.
Now to work toward more AF evenings this week after the vacation!5 -
Hi : - )
My goal is 16-20 AF days per month.
Diary Style.
Tuesday June 01 - AF
Wednesday June 02 - AF - I might have drinks tomorrow eve.
Thursday June 03 - 2 drinks. Quite enjoyed them.
Friday June 04 - AF - It has been very hot here all week, by mid-afternoon I had to stop walking around doing Census. I will get at it again early in the morning tomorrow before it heats up. I got some garden stuff planted this morning before going out to work for StatsCan (can't knock on people's doors earlier than 9am, that would just be rude). Garden pics to come
Saturday June 05 - 3 drinks. Census only for Sunday, no restaurant or merch jobs.
Sunday June 06 - AF - 3 went from a record breaking heat wave to really chilly. I had to have a hot bath this evening after being out knocking on doors all day. A brandy would have been nice, but I resisted.
Rolling Total - 4AF day out of 7 days.5 -
I usually don't love club soda types, but this one is pretty good
Here is my garlic so far:
Peppers just beginning:
Baby tomato plants:
I was so busy that I was late planting everything this year (well, not the garlic, that goes in during the fall).
So these are my "before" pictures.
I just got the beet seeds in, and haven't even begun to prepare and plant carrot seeds yet. Hoping to get to that and a gazillion other garden things this week in between jobs and stuff.
The mint is coming up nicely and the strawberries. I will snap some pics of them this week.7 -
Stated out loud to DH this morning ... and making myself accountable here as well.
This week I will be AF Mon-Thurs. The stretch goal is to have more AF than non-AF days by next Monday check in.
June accountability: 1/30 days AF
Alcohol: 5 days (17 drinks)
Goal: Limit 1-2 glasses per day; 12-16 AF days per month. Aim to drink no more than 2 nights in a row.
6/1 - AF
6/2 - 2 wine
6/3 - 5 … 1 beer + 3 wine + 1 Benedictine @ New Orleans
6/4 - 4 … 3 wine + 1 Whiskey Diet Coke @ New Orleans
6/5 - 4 … 1 whiskey sour + 3 wine @ Wedding in Natchez
6/6 - 2 wine
My tally would have been much worse during vacation if we had given into old habits and started day drinking. But before leaving I mentioned to DH my wish to not start drinking before 4pm ... and he even reminded me when I wanted to stop for a drink around 3 on Friday during our vacation days! Water too was a big part of ordering first as we decided what we wanted.
Oh and because of you guys ... there was not a 2nd whiskey sour at the wedding. I got in line to get one and thought to myself "What are you doing! You don't need a drink in hand." So I stepped out of line and went over to talk to more people.

Happy Monday y'all....time to take a deep breath, put a smile on my face and plan to create a good week out of this one.
@Lilylady3k Me too on the AF front...now that I've reset, ready to make this a solid AF week....
@dawnbgethealthy I'll try that berry-tangerine seltzer when I get across the border...looks like it could be early fall.

6/1 - AF, 9 miles
6/2 - AF, 3.9 miles
6/3 - AF, 3.5 miles
6/4 - 4 drinks, 3.85 miles
6/5 - 1 drink, 3.5 miles
6/6 - 2 drinks, 1.7 miles
Split a bottle of lightly oaked chardonnay with dinner last night. Told husband to have a bit more of it because it wasn't really my thing. Tonight and tomorrow are definitely AF, but then vacation starts.
I had grand plans to do 4 miles on the elliptical yesterday, but my body was absolutely not recovered from my lifting session on Saturday, and by the time I considered going for a leisurely stroll instead it was pouring down rain. It feels like it's been raining for 2 months straight now. My basil is yellow and I lost a petunia because it's constantly gray, gray, gray here, but now it's muggy and gray instead of cool and gray. @globalhiker I really wish we could swap weather, you guys are burning down and we're here losing all our crops because the sun won't come out. Hope you're feeling better today
@dawnbgethealthy You've got a great garden setup! Can't wait to see the "after" pictures6 -
Errrr.....mocktails should not cost $10.00 for a rocks size glass. See what happens when you try to be a good girl? Why can't these places put prices next to food and drink items?
@globalhiker really sorry to hear what is going on with your area. And that it got to be to much to handle. Huga for a better day.
Wish I wore a size 8.5 shoe @chocolate_owl. Great choice for the wedding. We will need to see the dress that goes with the shoes.
@dawnbgethealthy gardens are coming along well. Very nice
@lmlmrn speaking of yards how is your yard project doing? Any bark yet?
Yea so AF last night with the mocktail from h3ll. My husband actually said get booze in it next time to make the price work the drink cost. REALLY?! Mouth shut lips zipped on that one.
4AF days
2 A days
Oh and happy Monday.6 -
Yes @linaadams123 alcohol does that to our bodies. Nice to have you posting with us.6

Same as last month. Goals in order of importance.
1. Do NOT drink alone.
2. No more than 2 alcoholic drinks in a day (with company), no more than 3 days a week.
3. Fit the calories/macros in.
Today is day 6 AF, but I really, really want a drink tonight. Too tired for company, just wanting to bury myself in a bottle of wine... and a pizza... and a sleeping pill. Which is exactly the night that needs to be AF, so tea and la croix it is. Sigh.
Second week in a row of AF except for Friday where I had 4 drinks with company. No depression drinking and diet on point. I'm pretty proud of myself.8 -

We're pretty proud of you as well! (Do you perfer glitter or gold stars?) Lol
I totally get it how company can trigger or persuade you to drink. 👍

Great report. Well done.5 -
DH brought home 6 bottles of wine (10%) this evening after work. He said I know that you are not drinking M-Th this week and I'm proud of you and respect that decision but I'm just not there yet. So he had wine with dinner. I had sparkling lime water in a wine glass.
First night home from vacation and I managed to be alcohol free!7 -
Love all the posting! Just makes me smile
AF last night and tonight, but I am enjoying my AF beer, just one.
@chocolate_owl I love the new pair too....but alas, not my size. Enjoy the ball Cinderella
@MissMay It was raining here most of the day so I chose not to work outside. I had put down weed/grass killer about a month ago so all of that has to be taken out. Did I mention we bought multiple plants including a bay laurel? I had had one for years and two winters ago the cold killed it. It was so handy to grab some leaves and throw in your soups and sauces.
getting late here back tomorrow5 -
I finally got an AF day in last night! I have to say, I was wanting some wine with dinner. But that’s just habit saying “it’s Miller Time” (dating myself with a 70’s commercial reference!). At any rate, miraculously my weight is down and I feel less bloated and puffy today. Coincidence? Methinks not!
The good news is that a few days of holding off on alcohol means the cravings decrease, and drinking becomes a conscious choice and not an automatic habit. Just need to ride this out for a few days.7 -

Oh that’s miserable. So sorry to hear this! I can only imagine the combination of poor air quality and breathing issues! Hugs!6 -
Well I think that the last time I posted was early February and I have to say that I haven't really done very well between then and now. I had one AF day between then and May 30th. Plus most of the others were not one or two drink days....
However, since then I had one drink since May 31st. That was Friday the 4th of June and my wife and I had intended to have some drinks to celebrate being AF for the week. As it went we both had a drink and said let's skip it.
Last weekend was the first time in a very long time being AF Saturday and Sunday.
It really helps that we are both on it this time. We go on vacation on Friday and I really hope we can get back on it when we return. We are both feeling better, sleeping better and I've lost a few Kilo's already!
On the one hand I'm so sick of drinking for the sake of it. One the other I really fancy a drink come the evenings. (Well not right now particularly but I know I will once the determination wears off).
Sorry long post.

Hi @Stockholm_Andy good to see your still finding us. You are lucky as others on here to, that your spouse is on board with you for drinking less. Makes it easier, I would hope. I can only dream of my husband going AF even half of one day. "Sigh"
Keep us updated on your progress.6 -

I'm with you @Womona it is a proven fact for me less bloat and puff, weight down, no senseless buzz eating, woo hoo on your AF night. Have you tried the Heineken00?? Honestly, it has the same taste as alcohol Heineken. I down one of those or MORE 🤣 and I am good to go.6 -
Got extremely hot and humid here yesterday. It was like end of July weather. Remembering back years ago I would sit in the hot sun and drink many alcohol beverages "thinking" I getting hydrated. Thank goodness for being older and wiser. LOL
AF Monday June 7

Was AF last night because I was supposed to be, but I wasn't happy about it. Last week I got told that this project I've been working on for two years might get cancelled and to hold off doing any work on it. Yesterday at the end of the day I got told that it is indeed still happening, but that means I have to cram three days' worth of work into one day before I go on vacation. Right before I left the office I went to print something out, and it took me 30 minutes to get a printer to work because no one's been maintaining them during the pandemic. Got home in THE WORST mood, and despite husband's best efforts to cheer me up and an hour-long walk to destress, I couldn't shake the mood. And I was SO HUNGRY, but felt like I had to stick to my salad for dinner since I skipped the gym again and settled for a walk. Fell asleep with my stomach rumbling. Despite eating low-cal and not drinking, I'm still up another lb this morning, back to my starting weight for this month. Logic-brain knows fluctuations happen and that this is more related to the weather and needing to poop than anything I'm doing, but emotionally it just sucks. I feel like I'm spinning my wheels, and I'm extremely off-pace for hitting a weight I'm happy with by February.
Today, instead of being excited for my vacation, I'm really stressed out. I'm staring down a mountain of work. I'm wondering if I should only eat salads for the rest of the month. I haven't taken care of a bunch of personal things, like organizing the paperwork to file my appeal to my insurance company. I've running on very little sleep because I keep having nightmares. And I'm still so frickin hungry. Send me some good vibes, y'all.10 -
