This! I've always wanted to do it. I promised myself last time when I got down to Onederland, I was getting a kayak! But I only saw it for a day, and then we moved away from the lake.
I have a car. I can go TO the lake. With my kayak.

To make getting in and out of the car easier6 -
I thought of some this past weekend while camping--
*so I can change in my tent, not balancing on my shoes in the vault toilet bathroom!
*To make it easier to use the hillside campsite, where it’s a trek to the bathroom but I’m farther from my weekend neighbors and closer to the wildlife.
*Also to not be on water pills that make me trek to the bathroom fifty times. When I'd get back, plop into my chair with relief, then realize I had to go again, and wonder if I could get that water out by crying instead…
*To walk into gift shops and buy an overpriced souvenir shirt/hoodie/tank that I can WEAR. I like useable souvenirs, and I already have too many mugs and keychains!
*Because tromping fast up the hill and enjoying it, grinning all the way.

@sargemarcori great reasons!! Camping can be difficult when you are bigger for sure! All great motivators to lose weight and make your next camping trip that much more enjoyable!!2

Day 88 of 100 Reasons Why:
For better fitting bras!
I have a strange body shape, smaller in the bust and hips and thighs, larger in the middle. Bras never fit properly. Ever. If I find one that fits well on the girls the band squeezes me to death around the middle but if I size up on the band the cups are way too big. I am slowly losing inches around my middle and will someday be able to find perfectly fitted bras & comfortable bras!4 -

I just joined a 6 week challenge at my local CrossFit gym and today’s reason is so that I can do a burpee without my gut getting in my way!! 🏋🏻♀️3 -
@WaterLily82 - that's what compression leggings are for.
And my reason: For being able reach that itchy spot on your back and give it a good scratch.2 -
@speyerj there is not enough compression in any garment known to man to keep my jiggles under control 😂
I love your reason!! I HATE it when my T-Rex arms aren’t flexible enough to reach that itch!!2 -

To be able to get up and down onto the floor more easily. Whether it’s a picnic, sunning on my beach towel or getting ready to do floor exercises, it’s a struggle to get down and back up2 -

To prove to my harshest critic that I can do this thing, this thing that is so hard and sometimes seems so impossible, this thing that will take years to accomplish and round-the-clock effort. I want to show that person in my life who thinks I’m not capable, not strong enough, not serious enough, not worthy of success that I can do it.

Day 98 of 100 Reasons Why:
To make everyday activities easy.
When you’ve been overweight your whole life you don’t always notice how much your weight holds you back or incapacitates you. Simple things like shaving my legs, vacuuming out my mini van, a long day walking at the fair with my kids are hard and wear me out because of those extra pounds. Every pound I lose makes day to day life easier and more enjoyable!3 -
Day 99 of 100 Reasons Why:
In the spirit of Independence Day, today’s reason is for freedom. The freedom to do things I could never do before due to my weight. The freedom that my body feels being lighter, stronger, faster & leaner. The freedom to wear what I want without the sideways glances. The freedom to live a long, healthy, happy, pain-free life with confidence and pride over my accomplishments! ❤️🤍💙4 -
This is a great thread. Well done! I wish I didn't relate to so much of this but pretty much every point hits home.....except shaving my legs. I'll try that later.2

Day 100 of 100 Reasons Why:
To be the best me that I can be.
Sometimes that means eating all the good and healthy things & kicking butt at the gym all week. Other times my best is sitting on my couch, drinking Diet Coke after Diet Coke and trying to motivate myself to get off my butt and hit the gym tomorrow.
We’re not always perfect. We’re not always feeling motivated. Sometimes life, kids, work, family, holidays, mental illness, and other demands in our life bring us down or lead us off track. And that’s ok.
Be gentle to yourself. Forgive yourself.
As for me, I fell off the weight loss wagon this summer. For a while I was really mad at myself, frustrated at gaining what I had lost and losing the good habits I had gained. But this bad feelings didn’t motivate me. They caused me to revert further. Telling myself I couldn’t do this. I’ll never reach my goals. Why even try?
Then I woke up and I told myself that I CAN do this. I was struggling for a little while there and I was doing the best I could at that time but today, I think I can do better. And I WILL.
So today I am as determined as ever to be the best that I can be.
I realize that a weight loss journey is not always linear. You take a few wrong turns, go down the wrong path here and there, backtrack a bit but as long as you keep moving toward your goal you’ll never be a failure!
This summer my best was indulging a bit too much and working, working, working with no time or energy left to workout. And that’s ok. That may have been what I needed at the time.
Today my best will be something different. And I will love myself every step of this journey and always do my very best ❤️

@WaterLily82 - welcome back. Forgiving yourself when you slip is a really important lesson. Shame is not helpful. Neither is denial. Both hold us back from reaching our goals. I bet your learned a lot on your sort detour from your goals. And now you will be better equipped the next time something leads you away from your intended plan.
There's one of those inspirational posters at my workplace that I normally hate, but this one speaks to me. It's a picture of a lion that says, "I never lose. I either win or I learn". Every slip-up teaches us something if we are willing to learn from it. You got this.
